Yesterday me and a friend of mine opened the console and tried to find the problem.

 

First of all, the problem itself :

 

Every time I turned on the console with a game inside I get this weird screen:

 

 

With a closer look at the circuit board we saw that one chip obviously is missing as seen here:

 

 

Can someone tell me which chip it is and if I can replace it? Or is it probably better to get a new console?

Like the topic says. I'm trying to repair my broken Phillips Videopac G7000 (PAL) console but I haven't got the schematic for it. Anyone knows where I can get it?

Maybe you saw already that Planet-Atari.de is no more.. but you're apparently wrong.

Planet-Atari was like the other Planets for Nintendo, SEGA and so on part of the neXGam network and since last year all the planets merged to one whole site under the neXGam banner.

 

So all the reviews of the past are there. Unfortunately I had more responsibility within the neXGam network of taking care of the nintendo section. That and other private things where the reason why I was unable to provide any updates in the Atari section.

 

But this is supposed to change.

 

In the near future you will provided with new reviews and articles about Atari related games and hardware.

 

I'm very sorry to keep you guys uninformed the last year but I hope you will also enjoy the upcoming reviews like the past ones.

I got myself a SIO2SD recently and now I have some questions about it.

Also I have to admit that I grew up with a Commodore 64, so I'm not familiar with the Atari 800XL.

 

I tried some of the recent games but I have a few problems here. So a little helf would be welcome!

 

So here are my questions:

 

1. I tried His Dark Majesty and it crashed after the intro screen. Do I have to switch something on my SIO2SD to make it work?

 

2. I also tried to run Yoomp on my computer but it says, that I have to disable Basic. Can someone tell me how I can do that?

 

3. I wanted to try Swapz on my Atari 800XL, which game I personally like very much. But I only found an XEX image of the game. How can I convert it to an ATR File or can I use XEX files with my SIO2SD card too?

I have this game since my childhood, but I even don't get past sector 20 or something like that. But it reminds me to put the game into my console the next few days to play it. Haven't done that for a long time

I was trying to get past through level one, but I can't destroy the first boss. I was firing nearly five minutes right at his face on the easiest difficulty with no success.

 

I had no problem with the enemy on the 7800 console by the way.

You have to stand still and push the stick up twice. You get a higher jump then.

Personally I'm very impressed by those piece of art and I think it would be a really good thing to put them all together.
