  1. Oh wow... thank you so much for sharing that information!! I am sure it will come in very handy. Oh... and btw... Happy birthday WizWor!!!!!
  2. There is actually already a java applet that will take you onto the server. When you log on, all you would do is type /join #atari which would take you to the #atari chat area. Then to change your name from JavaUser you would type /nick mynamehere Most of us are there 24 hours a day/7 days a week. There is generally someone awake, even into the wee hours of the morning. As for a mirror, that would be something that would actually have to be discussed with the chat room owner and I personally wouldn't know how to go about that. I am not exactly sure how the whole thing would work, actually. I will see what I can come with .
  3. Hmm... I don't know what is causing that... because mine isn't like that at all. I think the problem might be you have it set for ANSIW? I don't know... I couldn't get it to work like yours does. Maybe somebody else has some ideas. But I also use 98SE which could be making the difference. Sorry
  4. Alright Lynx... I think I have it figured out. When you set up the call... you can go into properties. (File and Properties in the call screen) The properties need to be set up as follows in order to wrap-text: Go into ASCII set up, there will be two sections: ASCII sending and ASCII receiving. In ASCII receiving... check mark "wrap lines that exceed terminal width"... this should fix that part of the problem. Also if you do a /clear in the "chat" area, before you type something.. it should display all the text that has been sent to the channel (except for yours... which displays anytime you send something and hit enter) and you can scroll back and forth. I have HT set up to be an ANSI terminal... with 500 scroll back lines. I don't know if this helps or not... but this is what I came up with. If this doesn't work for you... let me know.. and I will try something different.
  5. Ahh... no wrap around. I think I get it now. Yeah... Greg had a similar problem.. and there is a way to fix that... I just don't remember what it is off hand. Maybe I will play with it on Monday and see what I can figure out.
  6. Okay... it seems like you are wanting to be able to scroll back to see what has been said in the room after it moves off the screen...is that right? Well, it can't be done with hyperterm. It doesn't have this capability. Your best bet is to download an IRC client... use the java applet... or telnet to the channel through the MS-DOS if you are using Windows. If you need help... PM me and I will see what I can figure out for you.
  7. Okay... I did the whole hyperterm thing... and there isn't a way to do scrolling inside the actual "chat" area. You can scroll up and down to see what you typed... because it "prints" to a totally different area after you send. With that said, however, it would probably be easier to just use the java applet... or actually "telnet" via your MS-DOS prompt, instead of hyperterm. No history scroll back capability on hyperterm.

  16. Okay... I have decided to put up a time zone chart so everyone will know what time the chats are in their respective countries. Makes the conversion much more simple! Chats are 8 pm CDT/CST.. so here are the times for everyone else. USA Hawaii-3 PM Alaska-5 PM California-6 PM Arizona-6 PM Colorado-7 PM Illinois-8 PM Indiana-9 PM Florida-9 PM Other Countries Austria-Fri 3:00 AM Belgium-Fri 3:00 AM Czech Republic-Fri 3:00 AM France-Fri 3:00 AM Germany-Fri 3:00 AM Greece-Fri 4:00 AM Ireland-Fri 2:00 AM Poland-Fri 3:00 AM U.K.-Fri 2:00 AM Ukraine-Fri 4:00 AM Canada-same time zones as USA If any more information is needed... feel free to let me know!! I know the chats are a little late for people in the other countries... we are there 24/7... and you can pop in any time it is convenient!! Thanks a bunch.. and hope y'all can make it!!
  17. Just press enter at "password" Then it will ask for your user name... and just put whatever you want there... hit enter and you should be good to go!
  18. The mIRC chat is always going... so you can pop in anytime that is convenient for you. Hope you can make it sometime.
  19. I am only half asleep today!! Dunno how long I can last though
  20. Hiya again carmel. Yes... you can use the java applet with IE. I haven't tried it on FF yet, but I am pretty sure it will work the same. As I am sure you already know, you can also use your MS DOS prompt and "telnet" in. (Instructions for both are posted above) Personally, I prefer mIRC or the java applet... didn't care too much for the telnet way. As for your other question...Odyssey 2 is the "sequel" to the Odyssey game console, made by Magnavox. I can't remember for sure, but I think the Odyssey was released the year I was born... 1972. Thus making it the very FIRST game console. The Odyssey 2 was released in 1978, iirc. Interesting fact about the original Odyssey (for anyone who doesn't already know) ... it had this game called "Table Tennis." Supposedly, Atari copied it and came up with "Pong." At some point, Magnavox sued Atari over it. So, for all the Pong machines sold, Atari had to give Magnavox royalty money. The O2 was originally released to be competition for the Atari 2600. The difference between the Odyssey and O2 is that the O2 has a 48-key membrane type keyboard, and it also had an 8-bit 8048 Intel CPU inside. (I know there are other differences, those are just the ones I can remember right off hand.) The O2 never performed as well as the Atari 2600, but it did still manage to rake in sales from well over 1 million units. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. You can also always PM me, and I will be more than happy to respond back!
