Sounds like they "typical" Nigerian rip-off scam to me. I deal with this sort of thing daily at my job. It used to be it was only bogus cashier's checks, fake or stolen credit cards, things like that. They are now doing the reverse. Offering to sell stuff to people (even if it isn't theirs to sell), offering jobs, selling stuff that doesn't exist in order to get money. I would not only report them to eBay (not that it would do any good) but also put a disclaimer on your auctions stating there are no "second chance" offers. (In great big huge lettering) Hope things work out for you!!! This sort of thing seriously sucks, and I hate that it happens so often to people.

I am looking for an Odyssey 2 game system in working condition, with carts, if possible. I used to have one of these but I am not really sure what happened to it. I really liked the game Warlord (or something like that.) Thanks, in advance, for any assistance on this!!

I got a package in the mail today from the UK. It was from deathtrappomegranate. He went well above and beyond anything I could have ever asked for. I did not receive one or two game carts... I received 9!!!! They were beautifully packaged, and believe me I was totally stunned at the care that he took with mailing them to me. DTP is the kind of person that makes you realize, no matter what your circumstances are, you can still be kind and generous to others. So with that, I am truly appreciative, and hope to one day be able to give back an equally overwhelming gift! Thank you...and you truly ARE the "Atarian of the Year!" It is my honor and pleasure to have met you!

Charlie and Grandma Yolanda -
I am absolutely ecstatic. I have been waiting paitently for the arrival of my nephew Charlie. Finally he has arrived, a little unexpected... but what an awesome Valentine's present! Charles Eugene Varner Saldana was born at 11:47 pm on Thursday, February 15th, 2007. He weighed 7 lbs, 1 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He has a tiny little head... only 13 inches and his chest was 12 3/4 inches. Charlie is a little chunk. He is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen!!! (Of course Aunt JellE is a little biased) He had a full head of wavy black hair, and the biggest dark blue eyes I have ever seen...well... when he opens them, that is. (I know those will change, but maybe not too much) I was with my sister through all of it... from the moment she was admitted to the epidural to the c-section to the discharge to go home. This is definitely an experience I won't soon forget. In many ways it was hard for me to see my sister go through so much. I cried when they tried to give her the epidural, as they had to stick her 3 times before they got it in. After that, I was alright, and so was she. (Definitely not feeling much pain at all! I kinda wish I coulda got one! haha) But I am truly thankful all turned out much better than we had initially feared. We were under the impression Charlie would be very small and not fully developed. The dates were all messed up, and all of the people interpreting his sonograms apparently weren't all that accurate. I am actually very glad they were all wrong. He scored an 8 on his Apgar, and his audiology report was near perfect. He has all of his little fingers and toes. Nothing at all wrong with him. Everyone at the hospital was amazed how there were no problems with him as he was in the womb almost 2 days AFTER the membrane was ruptured, and he ended up coming into the world via supposed emergency c-section. I am relieved, exhausted, and just happy as can be. My little nephew has been the greatest Valentine's present I could have ever asked for. I am most definitely a very proud Auntie!!!

Well...I am sorry I missed Wednesday's chat... but I am now an official auntie to the most beautiful little boy in the world. (of course I am kinda biased!) His mother went into labor on Wednesday, and Charles "Charlie" Eugene Varner Saldana was born at 11:47 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2007. He weighed 7 lbs, 1 oz, and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Hey everyone - don't forget about the weekly Atari chat tonight. Official gathering time is 8:00pm CST, and you have 3 options for getting in: - Use your favorite IRC client to connect to irc.newnet.net and join channel #atari. - Telnet from your 8-bit or other machine to irc.atarichat.net (216.37.55.109) and login as "atari". This will get you into the chat without the need for an actual IRC client. - Use the Java applet found at http://www.newnet.net. If you can't make it around 8:00 tonight, or if you would like to stop in other times, feel free to drop in anytime. There are generally a few lurkers hanging around, so you may catch some good coversation at any random visit.

MMMMM.... FOOOD!!!

There are several different servers on that particular network. I can give you a list and port numbers if you want. But if I remember correctly, you use the java applet... so I don't know how that would work.
