Sorry I haven't had a chance to update in the past few days. I will get to it as soon as I can. Being pregnant with a terrible toothache doesn't prove to be too conducive in getting things done.

Okay, I am absolutely taking no more scores on Drol. In order to be fair, I will accept everything that has been posted thus far. But from this point on, if your score is not posted by 11:30 pm EDT or whatever time I set for the end of a game, it will not be accepted. The screen shot is not necessary, but the score is. If you want to edit your post and post a screen shot later, that is fine too... the original post time stays with the post.

There are always folks having upload issues... and that is part of the reason they aren't mandatory. They are nice if you can post them, but not absolutely necessary!
-
Since this was actually played last night, I am counting it. However, let me remind everyone, so this isn't an issue... you don't have to post the pics, especially if you are having problems doing so. The score alone will suffice.

Sorry folks, I totally forgot to post this. It has been extremely hectic around here. Hopefully by next contest it will be "back to normal." Anyway... since this is a few days late... the poll will end at noonish EDT on Sunday, April 26th. The new competition will start the same day. Thanks for your continued dedication and patience. Links to the game information: Sea Bandit (Gentry Software-USA-1983) Trolls and Tribulations (Creative Software-USA-1984) Wizard of Wor (Rocklan Corp-USA-1981) River Raid (Activision-USA-1983) Gyruss (Parker Brothers-USA-1984)

Here is the deal folks... I don't have the time or the energy most days to go around policing every game that is played. I have to rely on you guys to be straight up and honest about stuff. Unless I get a chance to actually play a game, I don't know about any bugs, glitches, or hacks. (Unless someone else tells me about them.) This is supposed to be for fun.. even though we have some fierce competitions going on sometimes. My point is this, let's all just try to have fun, and be fair. If there are issues, let me know, and I will see what I can do to resolve them.

That's referred to as "camping" or "spawning" which is considered by most as an act of cheating and to be unethical. I was under the assumption that pretty much all the HSC's frowned upon that. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. Just relaying info. Yes, this HSC also frowns upon using exploits or glitches in the games.

You can join in any time.

Sorry it is taking me so long to update and stuff... we are still trying to unpack, as well as lots of terrible storms in the area the last few days. I will get everything updated as soon as I can! In the meantime... let's play: Drol Contest ends Friday, April 24, 2009 at 11:30 pm EDT. Play on factory default settings. NOTE: Please play the B & W version as it is more reliable and will keep everything fair. This was released in the US in 1983 by Brøderbund Software. It was programmed by Aik Beng. Here is the link to the instructions. Have fun and good luck!! P.S.I have posted all of the scores that have been entered. (Color as well as mono) All scores from this point on should be from the mono version only. How to remove yellowing from an old Atari case
JellE replied to mimo's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
They do make non-acetone fingernail polish remover. It is specifically made for fake nails. -
I happen to like my signature. But, if I have to change it, I have to change it... no biggy!

In that case, see ya in a couple months. Yeehaw... I am officially a Tennesse Volunteer now! I will get around to updating stuff in the next few days. We still haven't gotten all the truck unloaded yet. We got here late last night, since there were several complications. But we are here now and all is well!
-
Thanks guys... y'all are great. Hopefully I will see y'all in a couple days! (If Comcast cooperates, that is!)
-
Thank you, thank you! Although I am not really doing any of the moving... I am not "allowed" to lift anything. Supervising... even better! Oh absolutely!!

I actually have an 800xl and a 1200xl here... as well as some joysticks and stuff. I don't have a tv however, so that is why I do the emu thing. Thanks by the way!
-
Thank you so much... and look forward to having you participate when you can!

Okay folks, I am moving to another state, starting tomorrow. I am not sure when I will be back online. Hopefully it will be by the weekend. I am going to go ahead and post the poll for the next game, just in case it takes awhile. I will update scores when I can.

Hi RR, Mr TNT is great fun, have always called him Mr BakedBean am sure he didn't mind?! Just keep him moving and eat the white bonus thingys and stay away from the bug/spark things if you get cornered cut them off by walking over their wire... prob best to read the official instructions JellE - I've dropped a dooberry... I was wondering why Sea Bandit was in the poll and realised I had put it on my list when I meant Sea DRAGON! I think it's still an ok game though... maybe, could I add Sea Dragon too? Thanks Sure, I will add Sea Dragon. How about Starleague Baseball where you keep score of max amount of runs you can beat the computer by in heat-slugger mode? I can do that too!
