  1. Yes, you FINALLY got Robosquash! I'm telling you your gonna love that game!

(I'm wondering about your alias though.. 2600 ? ;) more like AtariLynxLand) =)

The last dream I had about the lynx (which was like 10 years ago) I walked into some used game store and in the corner they had boxes and boxes of Lynx games stacked up to the ceiling. I remember being so excited seeing all of them there new and boxed.... someone else came in behind me and ended up buying like 5 of them. Not sure what the point of that dream was however...

  2. I have about 30 or so disks I've kept for the past few years in case I ever get back into the 8bit side of things.

Recently got my 1050 and went to format the disks..... first 3 failed to write even the first sector.. (alll have been stored very well, enclosed) but apparently that doesn't matter. Yes, they are ss/dd but they just will not work. Threw a Verbatim in there and walla! started formatting no hitch.

(and yes, the disks that wouldn't format were so flimsy.... looks like I have a few 30 or so frisbees for this summer :) ).

Sounds like a time consuming task you have on your hands there.

  3. I blame Atari. (and the board) for not only the sub-par ports but also the lack of any authentic controller extensions.

I'm not saying Stainless did a terrible job.... but I wonder if it wasn't strictly for the money and easy(ier) project(s) to attack....

    :)

Course, Atari doesn't care... as long as it passes cert and people will buy/download it.... that's all they care about.

Apparently they have their own game in mind.... too bad it's not working for them.

  4. Everything is minty new looking however aside from the dead pens. I might try the alcohol pen trick to see if that works when time permits.

Looks like the same printer innards as my CBM 1520. I got my pens going by gently heating them with a hairdrier and then dipping the tips in hot water for a few seconds.

BTW does anyone know if replacements can still be purchased ?

I'm sure B&C still sells them but sends them out as-is (nos) testing them before they ship but that they are all drying out so he can't vouch for how long they will or will not last. Not sure what the price are though, I guess if their cheap enough it wouldn't hurt picking up a few sets and working through them.

There has to be some other source for these though.... or remedy at least.

  5. I've felt the same way about my iMac 800mhz G4. I sort of lust over the newer stuff that's out but at the same time, I don't absolutely need it. I can do everything I need to do on my current iMac (minus USB2, god!) but it does have firewire....

Your right, there's not much out there (aside from gaming) that really calls for a necessary upgrade or new computer unless your old one just dies. I know last year it was said over 240 Million computers were sold... I wonder what those figures are going to look like over the next few years.

Of course... as long as systems like eMachines are being made, computers are always going to be sold. (buying a new one each year since the last one 'died') :)

  6. I feel the same way about being judged and people judging others.

However... I think it's almost natural that everyone judges to some extent regardless if it's positive or negative. It's also easy to see how people are misunderstood very easily.

I guess for everyone who truly thinks different... to the other person it's just bullshit (if that makes any sense). ( <-- see what I mean? :) haha..)

Anyways... I wouldn't let it get to you. I've come to the point where I'm in-between being angry all the time (which isn't good) or just keep to myself as not to pay any attention to the asses around you.

Some people are cool.... most of them suck - society is very weird. (or maybe it's just me...)

    Fug'em!

  7. Congrats on your newer car / transportation!

I have nothing but good things to say about Hyundai and their cars... very very reliable (at least, they have been for me!) but I'm on a Suzuki now (which has also proved to be very reliable).

Looking forward to those piccies! :)

  8. Wow... that's an awesome entry.

I share your feelings, really! I know I've been pretty much a dickhead for the last year or so and I think it's getting worse. I dont know... I just guess it depends on the enviroment around me.

I guess I seem to get irritated too easily and I'm not sure why (I mean hell, I don't smoke, drink or do any drugs of any sort unless you consider coke a drug? Coke-a-Cola that is). So it's not like I've got other things dereailing me from what's really going on around me (that is probably the problem) :)

I can't blame it for lack of sleep because I've been getting, on average, 7-8 hours of sleep lately (used to sleep 12 hours last year, who knows). If everything is going well in your life right now I'm not sure where being a dickhead is coming from for you but for myself it's just the day to day stress I have to deal with from bills, crappy relationships or relation problems rather and so forth.

I actually blew up at my mum last week and felt terrible after doing it (only because I actually cussed her out). She was trying to tell me how I should do this or that with my daughter and I just lost it. I'm an adult now and she is my daughter so I feel I should do as I will and discipline as I need or want.

I'm in the same boat... my sister says I need to loosen up (as does everyone else) but then again... how exactly does someone like myself do that?

Here's to your evoloving and embracing! :) Maybe I'll get there someday myself..

  9. That's screwed up and I see where your coming from.

From what you have told I feel you've done your part...

I think it was wrong of her to ask you to just change his grade and he passed so I don't see what her big problem is?

Anyways... best of luck towards that... I'm sure it'll be favorable in your hands however.
