  1. Love seeing new 3D stuff, thanks! Beat the game
  2. In the off chance that anyone is sitting on an unused dev Jaguar console with stub cable in good working condition. I'd like to pair it up with a recently acquired Alpine board to dig into the dev side of things a little deeper. With that, I have a complete in box Atari XEGS (was a NOS sealed unit) that I would consider trading for one. I maxed out my 130XE and really have no need for additional unused units but this would certainly be ideal for a collector. Alternatively I also have an Atari Megafile44 with some disk cartridges up for consideration since I don't use it. Please feel free to drop me a PM with pictures of the Dev Jag unit and I'll respond with the same. Thanks
  3. I guess it depends on the price but I would be more than willing to sink teeth into a Falcon and STbook remake.
  4. I've used and still have a Roland S50 that I got simply as a controller that I paid just under $100 for and it came with a hard case. Not idea to really use it as the synth itself since the sound is so dated but running it through a proper Roland 1080 or 2080 with some sort of FX processor is gold!
  5. Good News: All the JagSwag has shipped! Thanks to everyone who signed up and snagged some goodies.
  6. So I couldn't pass up a NIB "Blue Heat" for the PC. I'm in for a treat, right guys? Right?

  7. Great news, sadly I no longer own a NUON. Still kick myself for not buying a stack when the NUONs were on clearance for $60. Last 2 I owned the lasers died so I sold it off as spare parts. Aren't the controllers even more rare or did someone come up with a solution for that?
  8. Odd. Might be internal use super early models? *not that I’m asking you to open them up but surely the boards inside would have some kind of serial tracking:
  9. Yes, thanks. So now I wonder how long they actually did manufacture them only to have sat on so many by the end. Anyone with one later than May?
  10. While searching for one of the earliest production Jaguars released in October of 1993 (Kx3Axxxxxx serial), from what I can find, it appears that the last production run of the Jaguar would have been in March of 1995 (Mx53xxxxxx serial) Which means they would have been sitting on over 100k units for quite a long time, if true. Curious if anyone here knowingly owns a Jag that was in fact produced later than March of 1995 or if anyone is aware of the actual end of production date for new Jaguar consoles. 3rd number of the serial should be a 5 for 1995 and the number after that would be the month. 1 for Jan, 2 for Feb and so on., so anything above a 3.
  11. 👾bugs detected👾 Kidding aside (maybe) does it show slowdown with any other games running for hours on end in demo mode? Something like Iron Soldier in demo mode the entire time maybe? Do you have any counters that might count excessively out of control after a few hours?
  12. Reboot’s Patreon goes far beyond just supporting their own releases. The RAPTOR API inclusion with ongoing development of JagStudio has been largely beneficial for everyone. It allows myself and so many others to continue creating new and exciting things for the Jaguar. I would like to pay it forward as a token of my appreciation in hopes to provide additional support outside of just being a Patreon myself. For anyone who signs up as a Raptor Hunter ($5) tier or ROMS & Binaries + ($10) tier before the end of this weekend (midnight on Sunday, March 10th, give or take some hours), or who are current Patreon supporters, or anyone who has contributed to JagStudio in any way, I’ll gladly drop-ship a few small but cool JagSwag items your way! (previously unreleased, they are not stickers) Mark my word, you’ll want to get your claws on some of these Just shoot me a PM with a shipping address after you’ve signed up (or if already signed up) and I’ll get these goodies out in the next 2-3 weeks. Oh, and if you sign up and you’re also a Jag developer, please make a note of it in the PM. DO+THE+MATH!
  13. Valid points aside, once he got to his change asks, it was a done deal. In no reality would a Hitachi SH-2 make the consideration list. Pet peeve: the use of a non-Jaguar game video running in the background of a Jaguar video. The GPU/DSP should operate at a much higher MHz but there must have been underlying reasons outside of cutting a $2 heatsink part to allow it to run at those speeds reliably. Surely Atari wouldn’t sacrifice so much performance loss just to save a few bucks… 3 realistic things that could have made all the world of difference but would have made no difference in the end: 1. 68020 (fight me, I don’t care 😅) 2. 64-bit cartridge bus 3. Fix the hardware bugs (some resulting as a byproduct of dumbing down the design in the first place most likely, due to cutting costs) dev software/support side doesn’t fall in line with the fundamental hardware argument of the Jaguar flaws as it’s a separate issue altogether
  14. That looks incredible. I just received one today, do you have a link to the Falcon Speed software by chance? Also, what resolution is that running, 640x480?
  15. 14MB (replacement) and 286 upgrade incoming for the Falcon030 and I'm done! Excited to finally have my dream machine completed.

  16. Good luck! I just want the watch myself
  17. I’ve got about 100 that I’m probably going to rid sometime this year since I don’t really have the space nor am I collector outside of the very focused stuff I’m into like computer animations or oddball rarities not found elsewhere. I’ll have to get some pictures some weekend.
  18. Try digging into the build folder of print example under the basic project folders. From there, you can open the C source conversion and have a look how it’s done.
  19. @indianatigre any chance you could share pictures of said Milan machine?
  20. The Jaguar has got to remain one of the coolest, most fascinating pieces of hardware to ever emerge as a gaming console. At least for me, anyways. On one side, you have these incredibly powerful GPU and DSP chipsets. Even with the hardware bugs they may contain, they’re capable of doing some impressive things given the 1992/1993 time frame and price point they were released in. On the other hand, it’s completely bottlenecked by Atari’s cost cutting decisions and hand-forced limitations due to memory constraints and a unified system bus architecture that is further diminished by the 16-bit Motorola 68000. The system was originally designed around a 32-bit 68030 and 4MB of RAM. Imagine how much of a difference having twice the available RAM and a far faster CPU with proper bus access would have made! Alas, that was not to be the case. Hindered performance be damned, we still got one hell of a cool cat that certainly has a unique personality. So, yadda yadda yadda. Why am I still rambling about this sort of stuff in 2024? Well, because from a hobbyist homebrew developer standpoint, we’re on the brink of a major turning point. I started my homebrew development journey in late 2017 on the Jaguar with Raptor Basic and have worked on dozens of things (mostly unseen) during this time. It had been somewhat a lifelong dream to create games for one of my favorite consoles of all time. So, I set out to learn 3D modeling and rendering, music composition and programming. This is pre-Jaguar game drive mind you. Rb+ evolved and matured into what is now JagStudio. For those who may be unaware, it’s a free and rather incredible software development package aimed at allowing anyone to make games on the Jaguar in c, assembly or even basic. Snag it here: https://reboot-games.com/jagstudio/ All this, thanks to several hardcore and dedicated hobbyists who continue to devote their free time to improve these tools for others to make cool things as time goes on. Jaguar community gets a lot of static for ruffled feathers but this is the gold standard of community driven inspiration that fuels fun and creativity. JagStudio is getting a major update soon. One that will allow things to be done that was seemingly impossible on the Jaguar before. I won’t let the cat out of the bag until it’s ready, but the guys working behind the scenes to make this pivotal shifting point possible (CJ and Rik) deserve some major kudos! Granted, the roadway here has been a long one. So many other devs have contributed to what has morphed into and become JagStudio, where do you even start. Maybe a proper credits page should be added on the site. (inserting major kudos to all here!) Anyways, on to bigger and better things. Here’s to 2024 being a super cool year for the Jag all-around. It’s a really exciting time to be a Jag fan. I’m pretty excited with the little things I’ve been able to achieve with it all behind the scenes, that it almost feels unreal. Soon….
  21. I’ve only reached a point once out of curiosity where I had about 106 objects in the list and you would start noticing things not being drawn onscreen as a result. It sounds like you’ve reached a breaking point. Have you tried or are you using multiple object lists yet? Im not sure there’s a limit on how many separate lists you can have, but I gather it could help.
  22. SKYLAR MUST LIVE!

At which educational facility have you been schooled in aeronautics?

  23. The good news is, I finally have an alpine coming my way after all these years (thanks Eric!). The bad news is, it doesn’t include the Jag console with dev bios/stub and I have long since given away my spare Jag to another dev, not that I really want to mod a unit anyways. The end goal is to build up an entire Jag CD dev system (go way down the rabbit hole and) use the setup with the Falcon. I’ve been talking to another member who may have a CD Dev unit to sell me but that is still pending additional information. If anyone has an original NTSC dev Jag unit in the U.S. they would be willing to sell, please send me a PM, only need the console itself. More specifically, if anyone has a Falcon to Jag CD dev interface board or lead to someone who may be willing to part with one to sell, please let me know.
