I recall Darran Jones a long time ago commenting to me along the lines that the only editing needed done on my articles was if the layout couldn't accommodate all the text. My philosophy is, if you're going to promote a professional product in some capacity and get paid for it, make sure it's at least spelling and grammar checked properly and reads in a fluid manner. It may also explain why I've probably spent as much time in the last five years proofreading other material as writing it myself (and not all videogame related, published fiction books on Amazon/Kindle etc too).

One obvious lie... Kieran has never had anything to do with Fusion retro magazine, in any capacity. So you start from there, and unravel onwards...

To reiterate what I posted elsewhere... he addresses none of the accusations and deflects to straw man argue back that person X is just as bad as he's been labelled, and only refers to the sock puppet part with denial (we know you have them, they vanished at the same time when your YT channel was nuked!). Love the unsubtle threads to AA to get them shut down because ignored the takedown request, unlicensed ROMs being hosted and reproductions sold, while claiming that everything he sells is legit. Guess what, unreleased proto repros that you sell are technically not legit either, you dumbass. They just tend to fly under the radar of whoever holds the rights. And being on the autistic spectrum and disabled, while indeed two protected anti discrimination aspects, does not give you the right to be a dick, and does not protect you from criticism for being a dick. I'm on the spectrum too, and while I'm sure I've upset a few people over the years, doesn't come anywhere near close to the riling the community feels against you Kieran.

I wouldn't say Midnight Mutants is that easy to find. Neither Ninja Golf. But as you say, both easier to find in PAL than NTSC.

Proof is in the being able see links to AA again on FB pudding heh.

Assburgers, with the emphasis on “being an ass” here. Other people have autism, adhd and Aspergers, but aren’t complete dicks in the process, so it’s no excuse,

Anyone who follows me on twitter may have seen the odd occasion where I have snapped at Kieren for spouting lies and rubbish, I know I shouldn't poke a troll but I simply find it incredibly difficult to handle liars, and seeing good people suckered in with lies annoys me greatly. I cannot remember what it was this time that I had pulled him up on, but part way through our Twitter exchange I was called over to my partner, she had just received a friend invite from non-other than KH himself! Now she is a very private person, has NO interaction or interest in retro games (beyond hogging Puzzle Bobble machines if she finds one
) her online world is a very different group of people with absolutely no overlap with the retro community.
So why the hell, would KH want to be friends with her? especially just after I had pulled him up on Twitter again, I've not been "friends" with him probably since 2008. After reading Starship's story however I now believe his intention was to try and sour the relationship between myself and my partner! All because I called him out for lies! (I did post on Twitter and specifically asked him to leave families out of this). Utter scumbag
I would like to stress there’s a bunch of stuff off with Starship’s post (notwithstanding that Jason Butwell isn’t evil and hasn’t had any dealings with Kieran for years) and Starship is pretty much ostracised from the UK events community for various reasons as well. However, yes, stories about Kieran trying to ruin relationships have much more solid grounding.

He's not taking this lying down.
Yes, I heard similar actually. Worrying indeed, if true.

The general consensus is he's pulled the channel before it got destroyed by copyright strikes, to further his usual "playing the victim" card...

I’ve been asked multiple times on Twitter and Facebook as to whether Kieren Hawken is involved within our new book – Atari 2600/7800: a visual compendium. These questions have come out of the blue and I (maybe naively) wasn’t expecting so much interest in his involvement. We engaged Kieren back in 2019 to come on-board as part of the team to help create the book and he has ghostwritten some parts, along with other writers. It’s important to say that I’ve had no issue with his work and the working relationship has been fine.
Hi Sam, I had a feeling eventually you would be directed towards this thread given everything that has been happening online re Kieran over the last week or so. Given that I was seeing FB posts from Kieran publicising the book before and after the pre-order opened, then I was left in no doubt that he was involved. Albeit I can't see them now because like he's done to so so many others as well, he's defriended me on FB in the last few days. That hasn't stopped me from pre-ordering the book, but you do rightly surmise that it could very well harm sales. We shall see in due course.

The missus read Chris’ post on FB and that was literally the first thing she said about Kieran, knowing nothing more except what I had told her about why Chris had made it.

Welcome Bliz!
The really really short and stupid analogy around Kieran is pretty much like the #MeToo campaign. Suddenly lots and lots of different people in the retro community as a whole who had no connection to each other are discovering they aren't the only ones to have been shafted over or defamed by him the last 15 years or more.
And yes, posting the Wotsit video himself was a classic example of the Streisand effect.

Sorry to see this happen, hopefully you’re not getting completely out the scene now Marc.
Also curious to see possible sell price as may well be letting go all my non-homebrew 7800 stuff in the new year... but in bundles at least heh.

I am trying to get my head around releases of 3rd party games. I have read several topics about HES/Salu/Activision/Absolute releases and I need clarification on the following please:
1. Were HES distributed games always in PAL?
2. Were Salu distributed games always in PAL?
3. Were Absolute branded games available only in NTSC, or were they also PAL?
4. Double Dragon: whose versions are available in PAL and what are in NTSC? I am thinking here about things like "if I see HES DD it is 100% PAL", "if I see Activision DD it is NTSC" etc.
5. Are the HES and Salu releases the same in terms of actual box design and they only differ in actual physical form (card box versus clam shell)?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, yes, NTSC only, Activision = NTSC and HES/Salu = PAL, yes the carts are the same with HES = clamshell box and Salu = cardboard box.

Yeah PR Baseball is just Baseball. DD was Activision, but Absolute was a spin off from Activision anyhow so... close enough heh.

Chopper Command was actually first, but yeah... had a little hand in the suggestions

If people pay via Paypal (99% of the time) then I use whatever address is shown in that email receipt. Occasional Google Map check to make sure it's written out correctly. Once or twice it hasn't been, and I clarify with the buyer before shipping.

If you mean Bedfordshire, I'm presuming because that's where Luton is located...
Don't take it personally, he deleted scores of people off FB once the enormity of the initial AA thread posting became apparent. Done because apparently he was told by the police to do it...!
