To be honest, that controller looks like it is meant for a specific game...Asteroids maybe?

I kind of knew the O3 in an O2 was pie in the sky, but does the hardware in the C7010 really add anything to the O2 other than the ability to play chess?

First off, I don't have the technical know how to really implement anything like this but here are some thoughts. I am in the states so my comments will be from that point of view. From what I've seen the chess module is the only upgrade that happened to the OD2 (actually the G7000) line. But, it doesn't work with NTSC OD2's. I've always wondered what extra power it really gave the OD2 and if it would be possible to make that added power standard on new PCB's and what that power would truly add... But then the thought of the OD3 comes to mind. I know in Europe the G7400 is basically the OD3. Is it possible to build all the upgrades of the G7400/OD3 onto a standard OD2 PCB? That itself would be a great upgrade for all OD2's. Then all new homebrews could be based on the G7400 hardware capabilities and work on all machines G7000/OD2 & G7400/OD3 (of course there is still the issue of NTSC & PAL to deal with). And yes there would need to be some kind of logic built in to recognize if it is already in a G7400. I know there would be a lot of issues with this idea but it was just a thought. I don't know if it is really possible to build that kind of upgrade that could fit in a standard OD2 cart shell. I was kind of hoping it would use modern components to achieve that. Of course even it is was possible, it most likely isn't practical. I don't know. I was just thinking out loud.

Sorry I don't have any info to add, but I'm trying to figure out how a 16K expansion module would work on the Odyssey models you listed (200, 300, 400). These were pong like units and had no CPUs. They used dedicated TI chips (if I recall). There was a chess module that was released for the videopac? Is this the same idea?

Sorry that happened to you. To be honest, I haven't liked the ebay feedback system since 2007. In the early 2000's anything down to a feedback rating of 95% wasn't bad. Before 2008 the feedback system was just that, real feedback. It didn't matter if you were the seller or the buyer. You each had the opportunity to leave a "positive", "neutral", or "negative" feedback based on the transaction and each party had the opportunity to leave a response to that feedback. That way (as a reader of the feedback) you could more easily determine if a given feedback was warranted or not. It wasn't perfect by any stretch, but it was what it was. After ebay decided that sellers could no longer leave "neutral" or "negative" feedback (I assume it is still set-up that way), I was done with them. Now it seems every other year or so ebay swings like a pendulum. One year they are all on the side of the buyers (screw the seller) and then the next year it's siding with the sellers (screw the buyers). If they would just stop meddling with the damn feedback system people wouldn't have these kinds of issues and then the feedback rating might actually mean something again.

Sorry I missed this topic earlier. I may be able to help. I can make replacement controller overlays for the Atari 5200. Never noticed that before either. With a quick image search, it does appear to be somewhat common of a variation.
