  1. XEGS is my favorite 8-bit computer (of course I've only used 600xl, 800xl, 1200xl and XEGS). To me it is the best implementation of a video game system that becomes a computer. It also has best composite output (stock) of any Atari 8-bit computer (at least from my experience). The detachable keyboard is awesome (especially after you upgrade the cord length).

If these are half the quality of the Overlay sets you've done these are going to be fabulous. :)

Thanks ClassicGMR! I put the same quality into the labels that I do with the Overlay (of course I'm a little biased 😁 ).

Many labels are only $2.00 per title (some more, a few less). If anyone is interested please just PM me for my current catalog (too large to post in a topic).

You can also leave a message in this topic and I will contact you via PM.

How about FOIL labels like SpectraVideo, specifically Mangia?

Maybe...😉  Good question! Those dreaded foil/metallic labels...You mean like these:

    foilSamp2.jpg.89386be509357089e9f3d7ca14bf4b0c.jpg

    foilSamp4.jpg.8f6eba33c4f29fc06db027cd5d954b69.jpg

Yes, I can make those too.

BTW, I added multiple pictures because it's actually hard to photo foil/metallic labels and see that they are foil. The only way is to move around to show how the light reflects off of the label's surface. Just PM me if you are interested. Remember, I have a $20.00 minimum purchase not including shipping.

    Atari 2600 Replacement Cartridge Labels

Pricing per title is based on size, number, and type of material. Many titles are only $2.00 each. Some cost more and a few cost less. If you are interested just message me (pboland) and I can send you my current catalog (too large to post here).

    Label Making Process:

Great care has been taken to make these replacement labels. They are not just simple copies of the originals. Most of the label imagery is rebuilt from the ground up using related print materials, such as manuals, boxes, advertisements, posters and many elements have even been redrawn. Some labels in my catalog have alternate styles. In the case of “Fathom” (pictured above) both a text version or a picture version can be purchased.

Most of the replacement labels are printed on six ink photo quality printers, while others are printed on color laser printers (depends on material type). Each label is laminated and computer cut to size to ensure proper fit and shape.

All orders are made on demand, so these are not mass produced labels. For that reason I normally need at least a week to put an order together. Depending on order volume it may take up to two weeks to complete an order. PM (personal message) me for current turn around.

    Ordering information:

Please message me (pboland) if interested. I will send you my current catalog and tell you my current turn around. If you can’t find the label you are looking for, be sure to ask. Keep in mind I do have a $20.00 minimum order (not including shipping). Shipping inside the USA is $7.50 (priority mail with tracking). If you are outside the USA please let me know so I can quote you the shipping cost. I invoice via PayPal once your order is ready to ship so I will need your PayPal email address at the time of the order.

    History:

I’ve been a video game collector since 1995 and a member of AtariAge since 2006. I started making reproduction labels for myself in the early 2000’s. It wasn’t until 2010 that I made my first reproduction label for another person other than myself. I’ve been making them off and on since 2012. I do not sell on eBay.  For those that don’t know, I make/design new controller overlays and cart labels (meaning not reproductions) for some in the home-brew community and I’ve been doing this since 2012 as well. I can make cart labels for many pre-crash systems.

    Hi Jamie,

Be sure to check your PM's.

For anyone else who is looking for replacement cart labels please PM me. I have a very large catalog of available titles. These are more than just simple copies of the originals. These label have been rebuilt graphically from the ground up using many sources and in many cases redrawn altogether. All label are laminated and computer cut to size. Here is a very small sample of the catalog:

If anyone has any suggestions as to a good way to post the items for sale (here, 3rd party marketplace, etc), Let me know. I'm open to suggestions.

If you want to maximize your profit you can sell pieces individually. On the other hand if you want to save yourself time you might want to sell things in "groupings" or "lots". I would suggest you make small groupings that make sense. For instances if you are selling a bunch of joysticks (assuming they are common joysticks), sell them in pairs. Or if you are selling say 2600 consoles, sell the consoles as a set. Meaning they come with power supply, RF box, pair of joystick, pair of paddles and a pair of driving controllers (heck, you may even consider putting a bunch of common carts with each console). Either way you will want to make some kind of list. I would still make the list in chunks. Something like an 8-bit computer list and that day you just post all your 600XL computer for sale.

I do think you could just sell your stuff from the AA market place.

    That's my 2 cents.

I can't imagine what would possess some to want to weigh their carts.

This idea is most likely from the NES collectors camp. Back in the day some carts were heavier than other because it used a pin converter board inside the cart to make a Famicom game work on an NES. So the way you would get one of these converters was to find a noticeably heavier cart version of say "Hogan's Alley". Rip the cart apart and you now have an adapter to play Famicom carts on your NES.

Thanks for all the help everyone. It looks like a "complete set" by my own personal idea of it would be basically anything on the wiki list, less AirCars and possibly anything released after 96. I'm still going to try to get my hands on Worms and AirCars someday. But it's nice to know I probably just need Breakout 2000 to consider the "set" complete, and everything else after is sugar on top. Only problem is getting the non-"Limited Edition" of both Worms and Breakout 2000. But hey, at least I'm in the home stretch. I'd love to get into some of the higher quality homebrews too, but I'll probably get into that after I finish my Jaguar CD stuff.

Does anyone know if Zero 5 ever had a proper "official" release when the Jaguar was still strong? My copy has the round holosticker the MyAtari/B & C ComputerVisions guy puts on his, so I'm assuming it's a "reprint" run.

    Maybe this will help.

My original Jag I bought in 1995. I remember purchasing my CD unit not long after. My last retail purchases for the the system were:

    - Zero 5

    - Breakout 2000

    - Towers II

    - Iron Solider II (CD version)

They were all purchased at an Electronic Boutique in Lexington KY. I want to say around late 96/97 time frame.

Unfortunately, I had to sell my original Jag set-up (system, CD unit and games) do to family obligations in 2006. I know I will most likely never have those titles again. ☹️

    I hope that helps.

Had nintendo cancelled the nes after the new york test market, the nes would have still existed.  People bought it and nintendo would have to provide warranty service according laws and regulations like any product.  Even in 1986 there wasn't a national release, nintendo slowly introduced new markets over the year.  Some areas still didn't get it until 1987.  You could also say the nes was released in 1983 as the famicom.

Following the logic set by saying the nes was released in 1983 (because the famicom is basically the same thing). Does that mean the Atari XEGS (and for that matter the Atari 5200) got released in 1979?

  10. I'm asking this question out of pure curiosity. I personally don't consider the "Test Market" stage as the release of a console. So to me NES came out in 1986 and the Atari 7800 came out in 1986. I see people all the time go back and forth on when a console is released. I find that most NES people consider the "Test Market" as the release of the console, I'm not sure why but they do. On the other hand other consoles, the "Test Market" is treated differently (I'm thinking the Atari 7800).

Are you still making these? I am interested if so...

You got the last one of the second run (Cyclone II).

If there is still interest for more USB spinners I will start a new interest list. If you want on the list just let me know either in this topic or PM.

Are there any discounts if you want most or all of these overlays?

Almost all Ebay sellers charge $3-$6.00 a piece for controller overlays. At my price of $2.00 each they are already discounted. Please keep in mind that my current catalog of Atari 5200 overlays come to 49 total titles which is larger than the original Super Overlay set (which was only 29 titles).

I do have a $20.00 minimum purchase for all orders (not including shipping). Please PM me if you are interested.
