  1. Okay, I'm going to refurbish a beat-up Coleco Combat that I just won from ebay (the kind of win where actual shipping costs more than the final bid). Very happy to have it, one side works fine, video is a little warped but I get the idea.

One of the sticks (left stick of black tank) has a shot spring, i.e. it just flops around like a dead floppy thing.

Like the Vectrex joystick, I figure it wouldn't be impossible to disassemble the stick's base and replace the spring in it.

Silly me, I can't get the damn grips off which will allow me to get into the base and take a look-see. I know this is possible, I'm just hitting a blank.

Anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing something really simple here?

    Thanks in advance.

My wife asked me about a question she got on ebay just like this one. Did you try the the hair dryer trick yet? I was just wounding if it worked for you. FYI, the spring inside the Combat unit is a leaf spring of sorts. You might have a hard time replacing it. You might want to look in to getting another one for parts. I only say this because you are at the point I was a couple of years ago with my Coleco Combat. Good Luck! I hope this helps.

  2. I have a bunch of very hard to find Coleco promo Ads up for sale on Ebay. These are counter displays meant for stores, part of Coleco's point-of-purchase displays, and would be very suitable for framing. They are 8 1/2" x 11" paper flyers and are highly sought after. These are not reproductions. Please take a look when you get a chance.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. The auctions went well. I will most likely put my atari 7800 stuff up for auction soon. So keep an eye out for those auctions.

    Again thanks to everyone.

Sounds good. (sniff) I would have bought one (or two) for sure...

Call me an optimist, but I don’t believe the FB3 project is dead. I’ve been looking at a lot of the old postings on this forum, and I noticed that if a project is dropped there is normally a confirmation from somebody close to the project. I have not seen that confirmation yet. (unless I missed something). I know that there was some kind of deadline that had to be met for production, but nobody close to the project has come out and said if it was met or not.

So I say “keep hope alive!” :)

  6. The FB 2.5 could make it this year, but if nothing moves forward by July 7th the window of opportunity for this year is closed. I pulled together a group of investors, we even directly offered to Bonnell to finance the entire product, but no response from Atari or Bonnell whatsoever, so its now out of my hands guys, I have gone above and beyond to get another Atari product out for everyone.
