  1. There is an early version of AvP that has shown up where the movement is faster and the HUD display is completely different... It's not much of a game, but it is pretty darn neat.
  2. I loved Chips Challenge for the Lynx. And Joust totally rocks. I also enjoyed Crystal Mines II, and Crystal Mines II: Buried Treasure (which I created many-a-level for...) I think you got a good deal on it. Lynxes are getting very hard to come by, and they almost constantly sell around $35-40 for the system. Getting an AC adaptor is the best thing you could do if you plan on playing it a lot (they suck batteries) and all three games are quite rare and valued at ~$10-15 apiece. If you've got a lot of money to spend, make sure to pick up some of the recent homebrew efforts. PONX is easily one of my favorite games, and Sokomania is quite the incredible game too. If you don't have a lot of money, there are quite a number of Lynx games that were way overcreated. Many of these games are also quite good -- Power Factor, Chip's Challenge, XYBots, Rampart, Pinball Jam, Klax, Crystal Mines II, Robosquash and Tournament Cyberball can all be had for about $5.00 apiece. The only one of those games that I don't particulary care for is Tournament Cyberball. If you are interested in getting some cheap games for it, the GOAT Store is currently running a special for Lynx games -- Chip's Challenge, Crystal Mines II and Rampart for just $10.00. If you're interested, the link is below http://www.goatstore.com/mon_spec.htm
  3. Actually, that isn't that weird. A lot of old stores hold on to excess stock of stuff that didn't sell forever basically, because they intend to send it back to the company and never do, or lose track of it, or whatever. I'll never forget, there was a toy store that went out of business around here in 1996... Saw tons of Atari games new for $2.00 there. Only bought one... DRAT!
  4. Rob, Pretend it is happening in Atlanta, GA. What would you want to be there? (As Dan I already pointed out, the MWC is held in Milwaukee, WI.)
  5. Hello everyone, Gary and I have really been working hard on updating the GOAT Store, LLC's Web site, and it has finally happened! Check out the new features like "The Barn" and view embarassing pictures of us We've also added pictures of about 75% of the hardware items that we sell, and we plan on adding the other 25% within the next month or so. Tell me what you think of it!
  6. Hello everyone, Marty, Gary and I are hard at work with promotion for the 2003 Midwest Classic. The event will be receiving a huge slew of additions this year that we are already working on confirming, but we want to know what everyone is interested in. Don't think of it as the Midwest Classic. Think of it as ANY gaming event. What would we need to provide to make you attend? Here are some ideas... please add whatever you can, and we will try to include it. - Keynote speakers - Competitions - Free arcade gameplay - Free pinball gameplay - Large doorprizes - Gaming and Computing Museum - Exclusive classic gaming releases - Exclusive modern gaming releases - Classic gaming vendors - Modern gaming vendors - Pinball vendors - Arcade vendors - Rare items / displays - Other? We really want to make this a great event, so please submit any and all ideas that you have!
  7. The GOAT Store sells Odyssey 2 cartridges. It isn't that bad of a system. I find it absolutely hilarious that the games all end with an exclamation point. We've also got some up on eBay right now. I would expect to pay up to $5.00 for common carts by themselves, and $10.00 for common carts w/ box and instructions. The rarer the cartridge gets, the more expensive it gets but I've seen the rarest carts (forget their names now) sell for $10.00-$15.00, so maybe there just aren't any real 'rare' OD2 items. 8. As topic says! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1940189146
  9. Wow... no one has yet said River Raid 2. Completely better in EVERY way than River Raid in my opinion. The only issue the the horrible landing-on-the-aircraft-carrier thing that you actually need the instructions to complete or you have zero chance. I'll toss in a Pitfall II also
  10. Question about the DVD remote kit -- do you have to plug it in the first controller slot every time you want to use it, or can you plug it in the fourth one or something? Does DOA3 have any new characters? Thanks again

    NBA JAM!

Ciao Paolo! Well, about the gift, sorry but I've only one NBA JAM, and I keep it How is WMCJ? BTW, soon I hope to order Shut Up and Jam, it seems a good game. Ewww... WMCJ is my least favorite game EVER. It has decent control, it has a decent interface but... You enter a tournament. You play one game. You win, you beat the game. You lose, the game is over. This _totally_ ruined the game for me, and made it easily my least favorite game of all time, and that is saying a lot. It had a lot of potential... all squandered...
  12. So... I starting to entertain the thought of purchasing an XBox, mostly for the DVD capabilities, but also for a few of the games that are coming out. Can anyone give me a solid review of the DVD player on the XBox? I don't have a DVD player currently and I will be wanting one after I'm married (yeesh! That's coming up soon!) and I want it to be decent. I'm also thinking about picking up a NUON instead, but there are only two NUON games that I would play... For the games themselves, can anyone tell me how Dead or Alive 3 compares to Dead or Alive 2 for the Dreamcast. This is one of the three games that I am interested in picking up, and the only one released so far. Thanks in advance!
  13. True, however I would figure that in 20 years, you'll have your Dreamcast perfectly emulated so you can pop in your DC disk and play. By 2020, I wouldn't doubt it if your computer and TV have merged...
  14. Hello everyone, After a long eBay hiatus, we've finally listed another Warring Worms Wargear. We only have two more of these left after this one, and the last two auctions have closed for over $75.00! Make sure to get your bid in early. I figured that this should be posted seperately in the 2600 category for anyone looking for it... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1940189146 We've got some other stuff up too, if anyone cares  Also, please make sure to comment on this topic about MWC 2003 homebrews so we can have some more winners on our hands http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...p=167767#167767
  15. Hello everyone, Looking at Warring Worms again today got me to thinking about what we are going to do for the upcoming Midwest Classic's homebrews. I'd like to hear some opinions on the matter. In 2002, the event featured two games that were already released in special event-exclusive versions. These two games were: - Warring Worms: MWC Edition - A special intro and label for Billy Eno's Warring Worms. Also, special Wargear packaging for 20 cartridges. 60 total were produced. - Mr Roboto: Paul Slocum's Berzerk musical hack, featuring the tune of Mr. Roboto during the game of Berzerk. 35 total were produced. What I'm wondering is, did everyone like the fact that they could get these games outside of the event in a different form: - Would it be better if the games were event-exclusive... you buy it here, or you have to buy it from someone else? - Would it be better if the games were not event exclusive, but repackaged homebrew games? - "Other." I'd like to get some thoughts brewing on it. Also, how many are already planning on heading to Milwaukee on June 7 for MWC 2K3? I know I am
  16. Hey everyone, just wanted to tell you that the GOAT Store has posted a number of auctions, and we will be adding ~ 20 more in the upcoming days. Keep your eyes peeled for some goodies! To go there, click here: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...&sort=3&rows=25
  17. If you could buy it from the GOAT Store, that would be easier on us to track The link below will take you to the specials page -- simply click on the "this package" for the 3DO, and you'll be taken to the order form. http://www.goatstore.com/mon_spec.htm Thanks
  18. There are two things that this sounds like, and based on what you said, there is really only one... The disks could simply be dirty or scratched. During the loading time, the lazer would mis-read the code slighty and you could end up with just what you say -- messed up textures, no sound, odd gameplay occurances, etc. The other thing that could be an issue is that the lazer is dirty or just simply dying. I'd suggest taking a look at it and seeing if there is any dust particles or smudging on it. If so, try to clean it's lens off using very light pressure. If that doesn't work, you might have to start lookin' for a new Dreamcast. Trust me though, with the amount of great DC games, it is more than worth it! (I'm sure you've figured that out though)
  19. Hello, I recently acquired a Dreamcast development computer. I've been trying to do some research on them to figure out exactly what I can do with it. Anyone have one and want to let me in on the secrets? It is the 'Set 4' version -- apparently not as powerful as the "final" development kit release, but still an official release. Also curious -- Anyone know how much one of these things is worth? Thanks
  20. Any more offers? Otherwise, it all goes to eBay!
  21. Telegames is more than quirky. While I understand that a lot of classic gamers stick up for them because they did a lot of stuff for the gaming community with the Jaguar and 2600, etc, etc... However, when you actually work with them, it is quite apparent that they are a big corporation with no understanding of anything. They sponsored Jagfest 2K1, which I organized. They sent us a graphic for their advertisement in a form that I told them we could not process. Their response was "too bad. Pay Kinko's to process it." They demanded that I send them promotional materials that had been printed five times throughout the course of the event. When I once told them that it would take me a few days to get the material out, they went into a tirade about how I didn't know how to treat "sponsors." Needless to say that their $20.00 "help" with advertising was not enough (not even to ship stuff to them), and I will not ever deal with them again. I would suggest everyone buy their Telegames items through other outlets, or not at all.
  22. Er... um... Okay, no way can I try to make "sense" out of that mistake Well, usually $5.00 new (and they sell for $10+ new on eBay ) but right now we're running a special where you can get Burning Soldier, Fun N Games and Guardian War all three New for only $5.00. Check the "specials" link on the opening page of the GOAT Store for this deal, and if you want to sign up for the mailing list that lets you know when specials like these are listed, that link is here: http://www.goatstore.com/mail_lists.htm I'll try to check out you list later tonight, gotta run to work!
  23. Make me an offer. We're not looking for tons of money, moreso just some free space. Same with the Sega CD games. Usually, we don't like to trade for things that we already have. We simply don't deal in enough volume to facilitate having 15 copies of something, even if we believe it is valuable. On top of that, we simply don't seem to sell 3DO games -- we bought 40 copes of Guardian War for the 3DO new about two years ago, and the only way we can sell that seems to be on eBay. If you've got stuff to trade (either for money or for cash) shoot me an email and perhaps we can work something out
