  1. Same here. I find it odd that a rarity 10 - one of the "holy grails" of Atari games, can be had for less than 50 bucks. I've read a lot of threads on this though, and itseems to be a fluke. Or maybe a rip in the space-time continium allowing our "south american friend" to go back in time.
  2. Hi all. There are a few games I'm looking for at a reasonable price. I'd prefer boxed if the price isn't outrageous. Definitely need the manuals Edit: Added some more games (pic labels where applicable) Stellar Track Shuttle Orbiter Basic Programming CIB Brain Games Concentration F-14 Tomcat Radar Lock I'd love to have Shuttle Orbiter w/ a box and manual but the prices I've seen so far are more than I'm willing to pay. Thanks for any help ! PS I'd also accept trades but I'm pretty sure I don't have anything that anyone wants - Mostly dup commons. Here's a list of titles that I own. Like I said - they're all pretty common. Tax Avoiders: I know this is somewhat rare - but its no fun whatsoever. Atari 7800 Joust - shrinkwrapped Xevious - shrinkwrapped Activision Pitfall w manual Barnstorming w manual Activison Dec. Starmaster w manual Starmaster w manual Spider Fighter Stampede Skiing Skiing River Raid Chopper COmmand CIB Chopper Command w manual Parker Brothers Star Wars: ESB Reactor Imagic Riddle of the Sphinx Demon Attack Sears Bowling (Sears) Night Driver (sears) Circus (sears) dodger cars (sears) Pong sports (sears) Dodger cars (Sears) Atari Bowling (text) Maze craze (text) CEntipede Vanguard Centipede Jungle Hunt ET Raiders of the Lost Ark Warlords Indy 500 Backgammon Indy 500 Defender Star Raiders Missle Command
  3. I'd love to have a console TV to run my Atari into. Right now I don't have the space though, and my gf's daughter gets a TV in her room before I do that anyway. That being said, there are a lot of console TV's that were produced into the late 80's and early 90's that had composite video inputs, stereo sound, OSD, and full function remotes. It would definitely recreate the retro flair.
  4. That's what I was thinking.... I made sure that my cursor was well to the side of the screen.... I figured he just made a type. There's been a couple times I meant to put in 5.00 and put in 500 instead... good thing they've got the confirmation screen.
  5. Thanks for the pictures. That's a very slick looking installation. I like that a lot better than his original design. Thanks for the info. I've seen that type of material in older electronics and knew it to be very fragile. When I first opened mine up the sheathing material separated from the contacts. But it hasn't had an effect on performance so I'll take your advice and be very careful with it.
  6. Looks like you've definitely got a cool system worked out. I've used Access far more than Excel so I guess that's what I gravitate towards when I need to store information. Just curious - Do you collect label variations and such? Did you follow a specific plan when you started collecting, other than to own the games you enjoy?
  7. That's what I did at first, but it wasn't very efficient after the first 50 games. I wanted to be able to easily find out which games I had by which manufacturers and which label variants I already had. Sorting through the spreadsheet just wasn't working like I wanted it to. Still almost impossible to avoid duplicates though...
  8. Congratulations !!! One of these days I'm going to be one of the cool people! I'm with 'ya. Everytime I walk over to my cabinet and admire my collection I remember some of the collection photos I've seen on here..... About 120 unique titles here. I've actually started creating an Access database to house my collection so I know what I've got when I start trading to fill out the gaps in my collection. I own three chopper commands because of my ineptitude.
  9. Replying to your post from Here Good to hear! Would you post a pic of the modded back side of the 2600 case? And if you feel like taking your Atari apart again.. I'd love to see the completed installation. Was the installation much different than the downloadable instructions? One thing I'm curious about... the photos in his installation instructions show a heavy sixer. The cable that connects the upper motherboard to the lower motherboard is composed of actual wire. On mine the connection is made of a type of plastic strip with contacts in place of the wire. Is this common? Also - its starting to seperate a bit - but doesn't seem to have had much of an effect on picture quality (such as it is). I was also impressed with his contact time, especially after reading the posts on here. Of course, one always hears about the bad more than the good..... PS: I'm new here - When should I post to Hardware and when to the 2600 forum if the topic is the hardware of the 2600?
  10. Hi guys. I just ordered 8bitdomain's AV mod for the six switch and wanted to solicit a couple of opinions. His mod sends the signal to 1/8" mini plug jacks and then uses and adaptor to convert it to regular RCA plugs. Is there any benefit in sending the signal to regular female RCA plugs? I thought it might look "cooler" or more modern. I'm sure the conversion would be simple and there wouldn't be as many cables in the back to come loose. BTW - I emailed him a couple days before I ordered and he responded the same day. He also responded a couple days after I placed the order with a USPS tracking number. I know he's gotten a lot of grief in these forums so I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. I'll let you guys know when it comes in also.
  11. Maybe that's what has brought me back to the Atari. I love long, epic games. I cut my teeth on the Zeldas, spent days upon days with NeverWinter Nights, etc... Perhaps its my three month stint with Morrowind: Elder Scrolls. I've been playing it almost non-stop for the past three months. Sometimes one just gets so bogged down in the sheer grandiosity and epicness of games that it becomes more like work. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy them, but its nice to be able to pop a cartridge in the machine and play for 15 minutes without feeling that you've left something unfinished. You don't need to make it to the next town, clear out the next dungeon, or search through 3 towns for a boatman who has a particular scroll and then return that to your patron. Games on the Atari feel more like... well... a game! (gasp) Sometimes its just fun to shoot stuff...
  12. I think you may be onto something there. I mean - the speaker holes were never used for anything. I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to cut them out and mount metal ashtrays. A Dremel and a dream...
  13. Unfortunately no Q*Berts Qubes London Blitz was in there. I'll post a more complete list when I categorize them.
  14. The console fits perfectly in a cubby on my entertainment center. I'm also using a shelf that my mom picked up at a yard sale. It works pretty nice but I have to scour my entire collection in order to find what I want. I've thought about using the organizer on top to store my most frequently played games, but that would violate my sense of organization. (everything's organized by manufacturer, the Atari carts are organized by sears, atari, text label, silver label, etc.) I've thought about designing a custom case. My girlfriend's brother is a woodworker, but I'm not sure that would be very space efficent.
  15. Really? That cart doesn't seem particularly rare. I guess its something you need to complete a collection eh?
  16. I guessed. There are many guesses on that list. Nevertheless, I hope one turns out to be a Q*berts Qubes for you. Wouldn't that be awesome! My first rarity 9 bought in a lot which cost a total of 40 bucks!
  17. Those are 67 and 68 now. 1 Adventure 2 Amidar 3 Asteroids 4 Backgammon 5 Realsports Volleyball 6 Target Fun 7 Video Chess 8 Ms. Pac Man 9 Space Invaders 10 E.T. 11 SwordQuest: Earthworld 12 Surround 13 Stampede 14 Slot Racers 15 Tank Plus 16 Basketball 17 Berzerk 18 Blackjack 19 Steeplechase 20 Casino 21 Space Cavern 22 Pac Man 23 Warlords 24 Star Raiders 25 GI Joe 26 Indy 500 27 Home Run 28 Q*Bert's Qubes 29 Sky Diver 30 Frostbite 32 Circus 33 Chopper Command 34 Decathlon 35 Defender 36 Maze Craze 37 Frogger II 38 Dragster 39 London Blitz 40 Bridge 41 Pong Sports 42 Tennis 43 Grand Prix 44 Othello 45 Realsports Football 46 Q*Bert 47 Raquetball 48 Raiders of the Lost Ark 49 Reactor 50 River Raid 51 Skiing 52 Pele's Soccer 53 Dodger Cars 54 Fantastic Voyage 55 Krull 56 Night Driver 57 Soccer 58 Infiltrate 59 Front Line 60 Video Pinball 61 Pitfall 62 Outlaw 63 Missile Command 64 Congo Bongo 65 Star Wars: ESB 66 Football 67 Space Jockey 68 Demon Attack 69 Armor Ambush 70 Riddle of the Sphinx 71 Towering inferno 72 Adventures of Tron 73 Dragonfire 74 Star Voyager 75 Cosmic Ark 76 Vanguard 77 Lock N Chase Impressive - I'll be sure and let you know how you did when I get them in the mail. Just curious - How did you identify the ones that the lable wasn't showing? Unless of course you emailed the guy for a complete list before the auction ended!
  18. You're right. I failed to notice there are 6 in each of the bottom row. Long day...
  19. OK - Here's a test of your end label knowledge I just won this auction and am trying to figure out what I've won lol. I won't know for sure till I get everything in the mail so in the meantime, if you'd like, you can test your knowledge of end labels and your ability to decipher fuzzy, pixelated characters. There's no prize for this - Unless you want a copy of chopper command. Seems now that I'll have 5 of them lol Identify the carts according to the numbers in the photo e.g. 64 Space Jockey 65 Demon Attack Bonus points if youc an identify the cartridges without the label showing - and no - don't look at the auction where they're listed Edit: Modfied the photo - Its been a long day.....
  20. Is that combat pack still available? I was reading a review of the game on another site and it said that for an extra 10 bucks the controller was included. If so - Where do I sign up?
  21. Word to ya mutha! Don't forget the Legend of Zelda rap-mercial Legend of Zelda My god - That was me!!! No wonder I never got laid...
  22. Actually I don't even thik I'm gonna use it at all. THe console fits perfectly in my entertainment center and I've got a spare cubby next to it for all the paddles and such. So if anyone wants this for a couple games lemme know...
  23. Spiffy - Though they look like more of a pain to use than a regular controller. Free is always the best !
