  6. If you ask me to take a survey and say anything other than perfect is a fail, then your survey is pointless.

    1. godslabrat

      godslabrat

And if the survey has no method of verification, you need to understand that PEOPLE LIE, especially to other people holding clipboards.

  7. So for New Sellers, eBay holds the funds until the item is shipped, I got a message from the girl saying she can't ship my MP3 Player until they release the funds, had to call eBay, then email her how it works *sigh*

      godslabrat

Call ebay, tell them you want the funds released immediately. They won't. But then document the conversation and write to your attorney general about this *illegal* banking process. Suddenly ebay will be happy to hand your money over. Source: BTDT

  8. So with google's gaming platform, I expect a thread on AtariAge about it with no less than 300 pages of non-information. Tacos!

  10. I got my first rejection letter from a publisher yesterday. My book stands unwanted. :( Well, at least they took the time to print a form letter, put it in the SASE I included, and posted it. Now I know. :(

I don't mind the rejection letters. It's the total non-responses that eat me

  12. Goofy Question, has anyone switched over to an F type connector for your 2600 and would you have any gotchas I should lookout for?

    1. godslabrat

      godslabrat

I used one for a while on both my NES and 2600. It's all the simplicity of an RF connection with none of the BS. The only thing better is getting composite or HDMI support... but that's a lot more effort.

  14. MIB3 was a much better movie than I remembered.

It was the second that stunk. Part 3 ranges from "all right" to "actually pretty good"

  15. Ever get so tired of having telemarketers call your house that one day, you actually do pick up the phone and start ordering a pizza or my favorite..."Graveside Mortuary. How may I assist?"

I'm not happy until I make them hang up on me in anger. Usually after questioning my parentage, sexual orientation, and hygiene.

  16. Going to have to open up a game I got for Christmas to check the board. Definitely not in the original shell. Not a super expensive game (PriceCharting puts it at about $35 loose), but gotta investigate.

Depending on who the gift-giver is, you could quietly replace it with a legit copy and they'll never notice.

  17. The actual biggest Christmas tradition in the USA is the Dec 26 ritual of returning gifts

    1. godslabrat

      godslabrat

When I worked retail, there was a shocking percentage of people who would buy a gift, giving no thought to if the recipient would actually LIKE it, and just mumble "Just get this and if he doesn't like it, he can bring it back." They just want to check a name off the list and be done with it.

You learn a lot about people by how they shop for others.

  19. You know what rubs me the wrong way? People who think that clean and well organized code is "advanced programming," yet think nothing of sending a newbie blind into a command line console to fend for themselves with arcane incantations. *shrug*

I joke about it being "The Date Rape Song" but people really need to stop being so uptight. Radio can't afford to be any blander as it is

  21. OK SO my upcoming healthcare costs are more than triple what they were this year (big surprise)...And Now is when my cable internet provider has chosen to raise my rates as if I wouldn't notice (and I believe they are suddenly throttling my Netflix too)...I'm not gonna stand for this!

  23. I cannot overstate just how much I adore 6-Pak for the Sega Genesis. This one $10 cart has kept me busy with great games to play for weeks now and should be a mandatory inclusion in any NTSC Genesis collection.

  24. Personally, I think that if you CHOOSE a window seat on a plane, then close the blind so no one else can see outside, you’re a selfish ass. And yes, I’m sitting right next to the selfish ass as I type this.

Let's put it this way: buying lottery tickets is, statistically speaking, a better investment than Atari stock
