yeah.. I know exactly what you mean about the early 60's.. always get suck on those (when I can make it that far) There is one level in particular in the early 60's that gives me so much trouble, it's like instant death over and over again until I get lucky and beat it.. then it cools off for a while. as far as the bonus stages.. that's a very good question. I always go for the points, but definitely see what you mean. If you warp 5 levels ahead, I think you would get much more than 20k playing through the levels instead.

811,416 Agh.. 3rd set of levels just kicked my ass. Like a lot of Minter games, I can breeze through the first 30 or so levels without hardly dying, then things get drastically tough quick. (those damn electric things that shoot you! Faccck!) Also all of a sudden I SUCK at the bonus levels.. I think I only completed 1 of them, and I used to be able to always beat those. The 20,000 point bonus for those would have helped. I did however, forget how cool the 3rd bonus stage is though, the ultra trippy one! So cool. I still hate the follow the green path ones though. Hope to get one more try in, but wont be until Sunday.

425,073 Finally managed to beat the game! Dammnnnn.. last boss kicked my ass so bad. Taking a look at the Dr. Clu video he looks really easy IF you have a ton of bombs, but I did not. Not a great score, as I didn't collect all the bonus stuff, but just wanted to beat the damn thing once and for all.

I just realized we're playing with continues. Wow.. that would have saved me a lot of replaying - haha. I'll hopefully get another shot tomorrow - also been really busy. I want to finish this damn game (for the first time ever)

One tip I have that somebody mentioned before.. maybe Austin? is to NOT shove the carts in too hard or firmly. for some reason if you place them in gently but securely it tends to work more often.

263,448 agh! so many instant death parts towards the later levels. the key to this game for me is to really take your time with the levels, not rushing at all, and find as many 1ups as you can. lots of secrets in this game! gonna give the game another go tomorrow probably. trying to 1cc it.

are they boxed? I'd so go fr it, although, With the exception of Tempest 2000 (one of my favorite games ever) the rest are pretty below average to bad games. Power Drive Rally is probably the only other one out of the bunch that I would play for fun nowadays.

I remember getting pretty far in this game on the Genesis, but never on the Jag.. controls always felt way too slippery or something. I'll try and give it a go though in a few days.

was hoping I could get a few more scores in, but just haven't had time.. oh well. Yeah - it's just a lot of practice at anticipating the corners ahead of time and utilizing the breaking just right so you don't over break, but you also don't go off the track.. it's a tough balance. Also you have to make sure you come across the finish line as fast a you can to get a better time in the next lap... there is a couple turns where you can just flatline it through all the way without breaking, if you can time it right.
