  2. So.....No wonder why it is so difficult to score with TB. Although they may have used the 94 stats, but those were lopsided also... Tampa Bay's team in 1995...... Trent Dilfer was QB. He threw for 4 TD's and 18 Int's. He had an amazing QB rating of 60.1 Tampa Bay's team in 2020: Tom Brady is QB. He had 43 TD's(3 were rushing) 12 Int's. He had a QB Rating of 102.2 KC's team in 1995: Steve Bono was QB. He had 26 TD's(5 were rushing) 10 Int's. He had a QB Rating of 102 KC's team in 2020: Mohomes is QB. He had 40 TD's(2 were rushing) 6 Int's. He has a QB Rating of 108.2
  3. good news, i hacked the 2600 emulator by twohead software. i replaced the games with some of my wish games: QB is pong AFB2 Barnstorming is Combat Fishing Derby is Minigolf Spider Fighter is Missile command Stampede is Basketball everything WORKS infact, but it is slow. Atari 2600.gba
  4. Yeah, I hear you. Sometimes I buy two of a game. For Thrust or QB, it would have been a different game play version (I think I've bought Thrust 3 or 4 times, probably QB too lol) for Pier solar, beggar prince or Battle kid it would be strictly packaging, sometimes I just buy two of the same damn game (ricky/vicky) There has been more I don't remember off hand. ...but ultimately, just like now with circus convoy, its mainly just showing my support for something I'm really excited about. I could go drinking friday night or skip it and buy an extra game lol. I doubt I'll buy two of all their games, but this one I will! This whole thing has been pretty exciting for me so its worth it
  5. I first sketched the Qb concept/board on a piece of paper, in red pen, in about 1983. Maybe an expanded '2600 40th anniversary version ... who knows.
  6. I thought it was a bug of the original qb for the VCS. But I could implement it as an option.
  7. Hey, "qb" is my game, and it's definitely not Q*bert! I have (TM) (C) (R) and all that stuff, so back off!!!
  8. Hi Andrew, That is crazy! I don't think I've looked at it like that but you're right. Your and a lot of the original VCS homebrew games are reaching 20 years! If only we could get a [stella] @ 20+ documentary BTW, isn't Qb approaching 40 years old? Could we see a 40th anniversary release say on a Nintendo Switch? *nudge*
  9. That is a big boy! Should go to the other side of the line, bat down passes, crush QB's and ca$h check$! ;) My Pat's need 4 or 5 O linemen and 3 D linemen... Not to mention 3 linebackers, a tight end 3 receivers and a QB, other than that. Oh so sad. The new laughingstock of the NFL. The Jets will be better than the Pats next year! Bill Belichoke cannot draft to save his life and no more TB hometown discounts so he could work the cap. Back to the Adam.. Very nice!
  10. You're welcome Karl! The thread is Christmas themed with other Holidays too, so I think Dreidel fits well in the list like QB I hope someone writes a fun game about Kwanzaa - I might do it myself if I get inspired like you!
  11. Hello there! I was just wondering if the ROMs for some Christmas-themed homebrews and hacks have ever been made publicly available at any point. Specifically: Holiday QB Christmas Adventure Santa Bros. Santa’s Scabs Santa’s Workshop Space Santa Just curious. Thanks! Merry Christmas and all the other holidays!
  12. Go the route of WSMLB or Accolade games like 4th and inches and Hard Ball etc. A QB named Willie Pass or a WR named Hugo Long. Great stuff!
  13. As a puzzler fan (and author of two - boulder dash (with Thomas) and Qb), I would be happy to give it a whiz. More particularly, I can test on a PlusCart on both NTSC and PAL consoles. Edit: and sokoboo!!! how could i forget. and chess, which is a puzzler sorta....
  14. You need to get three states (for the cycle plus two wait states). It seems to me that this 74ls194 is a shift register that shifts a bit at QA, QB, and when it reaches QC, it is fed back to the first position, inverted.
  15. Hello All! Robsterman here! The most complete Atari 2600 review page has been updated to include the following games: Alice's Abernateur QB Over the next few days, the following games will be reviewed: Combat Two Realsports Basketball Star Wars: Ewok Adventure Telepathy Crazy Valet Yar's Quest So, why not check it out. http://pub3.ezboard.com/ftherobsidevideoga...opicID=30.topic
  16. I'm going to get there eventually. Played for an hour this afternoon, but keep getting screwed by the RNG. In a game full of random luck games, I think FB might be the worst. If the QB scrambles up more than 4 times, you're not getting 105. Lol.
  17. Ultimately, this scheme could be used to interface a regular modern controller like a playstation, Xbox, etc. This would make these games more interesting to younger gamers who grew up with them. I'm not as adept at using them but the idea is to move the bar forward, gain a larger audience. The flight stick shown probably does have a pot in the throttle and does have a joystick on top of the flight stick. I have seen some with wheels up there too, so the spinner would provide input for that. If the stick on top is analog, then the two pot lines would handle that and the throttle can be handled by the spinner. Lots of ways to spin this. LOL. And I agree that Homebrewers have only been using port 1 partly because they had no need or desire, and, I can only assume, partly because no agreed standard exists on HOW to use port 2. If a controller could be made available that sells in sufficient quantities that they are out there, and there is a standard agreed upon method to use it, we hopefully will see it used. Quite frankly, I'm surprised Atari (or hombrewers, for that matter) didn't/dont use the joystick in port 1 and the keyboard/VTP in port 2 (like Star Raiders) or a driving controller in one of the ports and maybe a holder for both it and a joystick for more games, but many people didn't have either or both, and the latter would have requred yet another piece of hardware (the holder), and, they were cheapskates. Everyone did have paddles, though, at least with the non jr 2600's packed in, so they could have done something with that. Being cheap with ROM in the carts was probably a factor then. This is a perfect opportunity to come up with something instead of getting what Atari did and living with it and then 40 years later saying "gee, they should have done this or that instead". This allows us to improve it. It's our time. It's monday morning QB time, with a DeLorean to go back and fix it. The inputs are and have always been there for us, we just haven't standardized on how to use them. I'll have to look up CPUWIZ's adapter and that Tom+ thing. I must have missed that. One of these could be the standard or the basis of one.
  18. Well... I'm still messing around with QB64... I remember a conversation I had some time back with someone telling me if I really want to learn to make games, start making them on the PC first before programming the Jaguar. Well I'm listening now thus I'm still watching online tutorials whenever they post things... I'm using QB64 as a prototyping tool for game concepts this way I can make what I want on the PC without the Jaguar's bottleneck. Better to have somethings in place before tackling the Jaguar hardware although I do have to say I still have the Atari ST "Realtime 3D Programming In Assembly For The Atari ST" book that I've been reading on and off... I did however run into this book called "The Revolutionary Guide To QBASIC" published in 1996 by four different authors that talks about making realtime 3D in old-school QBASIC, which is pretty astounding if you ask me... There was even articles on a 3D engine in QBASIC that supported texture-mapping on a platformer game where they had a frog hopping around a mapped 3D world all written in QBASIC... Some engines supported gouraud shading but were only seen in demos. They seem to have been a tight little community for QBASIC back in the day that lasted until early 2000s when DOS was becoming obsolete; they made games, demos, push boundaries with QB until it got old and people went their separate ways. Today QB64 the newer people in the community has really been trying to push people into making games because the world has seemingly moved on with just a few games made using QB64... I Didn't mean to ramble on like that, but that's the current state of affairs with me right now... Don't want to throw this topic off track. So back to the topic...
  19. I LOVE this game. I missed it the first time around and can only imagine how I would have played it relentlessly had I got it back in the 1980's. I was one of those types who kept my passing and rushing stats ON PAPER playing 4th and Inches on my C-64. SO, not trying to cause trouble or start a rebellion. I have no talents other than playing old video games and drinking beer. But.....can someone with the skill and knowledge fix the few glaring issues with this great game and release it in cartridge format? Please: 1. Make the length of quarters adjustable. It takes two hours to complete a game! 2. Fix the passing so that a pass can be thrown longer (and more accurately) than 10 yards 3. Tweak the ability for the QB to rush with the football. As it is now, you're basically doing quarterback sneaks and lucky to gain 3 yards on most carries. It would be nice to have a better running game capability, maybe be able to use a side button to break a tackle or get an extra burst of speed. Make them limited, of course but someway have a more fully-realized running game. I game solo where my player skill is 1 (rookie) and I set the CPU to 7 and have been successful. I am going to crank up the CPU to a 9 next time I play. I did once own Super NFL Football for the ECS but found it buggy and a little too easy. I'd take Super Pro any day over it. Thanks for reading......

  21. Eye of The Beholder Lynx carts.... Here's the deal. I do not own this, I am asking for a serious list of buyers. I'm not asking for a deposit, or anything silly like that. What I am asking is for honest opinions and Eventually what I would like to do is have a LIST of potential buyers to show that the market is there to produce a limited run of EotB. So this is like a market survey, so-to-speak, to basically either prove that a list of people out there want this cart. Or it will be the opposite: I will learn that perhaps there just is not enough interest to support a release of this game. So, just like we do in the other forums with Atari 2600 carts and hacks and prototype repros... I'm asking for you to let me know here if you would buy this game. Through the years, EotB has been talked about, and everyone is hoping it will get released. There are a few protos out there along with a few 'copies' that a few lucky personnel were able to obtain. Now I am trying to reach out and see what the market really will do for this game. Yes, the economy still sucks, and perhaps it is bad timing for a game like this. But it is still something that would be a year out before they could be mailed out (or at least that is my opinion). At this time, please just post if you would like to buy one, and if you do have opinions on the price, please be kind to post the opinions but let's try not to flame the topic too much. Is this a pipe dream? Possibly. NO. THE FULL INTENTION HERE IS TO GET THIS GAME RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC. However, if the slot of 60 games could get filled, and the list is solid, I think this could happen. I know what my stance is out there on this game. I've mentioned multiple times I would like to see it. Relief Pitcher is another one I would love to see, but obviously a few people have issues plopping down the cash for a sports title. I think EotB is in a different category. It is an RPG, it is an elite title that people would like to see. I think the market is out there for this title, but I would like this thread to prove that. So please take the time, sign up for which version of cart you'd be interested in, and make some comments. Keep in mind this thread could be the tell-all when it comes to if we will see this game or not. There are people watching this to determine if it is worth pursuing this at all. Lets get the dust blown off this proto and get it out there for the market! Here's the plan: It has been talked about, and I think a run of 60 carts will be doable. This is something that has been discussed before, but we need a buyer list now. With the extent of this game's elusiveness, a 60 cart run would be really nice. Those that want a copy of this game, the collectors and the fans, this will be the first chance for most of us. So here's what the proposed idea is: 60 cart run. 40 carts are copies of Eye of the Beholder. Plain ol' carts, no flash, no extras, no box, etc. Just a plain copy of a working EotB Lynx game with save capability. 20 carts: Eye of The Beholder Extreme Limited Edition. This run of 10 games will have multiple extras, and will come at a higher price. This will be the Lynx's premiere run of games. Think of this set as the CGE release that is really expensive to get now. Being that there are only 10 copies of this version of the game, it would have the best collecting value of all released Atari Lynx games. What I was thinking about on this version, is something like some other limited releases that hit the market in the past years (Was it QB for Atari 2600 that came in a wooden box or something). Think along the lines of the Thrust edition that came boxed with the footpedal, stickers, and other stuff. I think these 10 games could be the same type of carts as the other 40. However, I believe they should have a limited (ie different) label on the cart. Obviously they need to be numbered as well. I believe those that release it should sign it as well. Kind of a nice unique touch. The Extreme Limited Edition should also have a very high quality box, manual, some type of case to protect the game in, etc. Perhaps even a poster like the other Lynx games have. the price would be much more, however, to a collector, I think these would sellout first (and very quickly). Price: This is generally the sticky point for most people. Especially with the economy. However... keep in mind a few things: 1. The going rate right now for all new releases: $49.99 (There isn't a lot of profit margin there either) 2. You will have a year or so to start saving up. 3. This is probably the most desired game for the Lynx. Period. 4. It will be the most costly game to reproduce. 5. This run is very limited and has not been offered before. Obviously who knows if it will be offered again. 6. The price to reproduce these carts will be more expensive (for example: The costs for the chips, the 512k board, etc) That being said: Price for the 40 cart run of a plain cart: $100 Price for the Extreme Limited Edition cart run of only 10 carts: $200 So... with all of that... let's start off the list. Given that you have over a year to prepare... and to pay... what do you say? Which version are you interested in? 40 Cart run buyer list 1. I have a feeling there is a desire for this game, and I believe people will support this title. 1. how complete is the proto? 2. Yeah... My question as well. Does it have music and sound FX? Is the portion of the game that is there fairly polished? The proto that will be cloned is quoted as being 100% complete. No bugs, nor graphical bugs/glitches in gameplay, or controls. Runs very smoothly. Better than most Atari/Telegames games that were released late or released as reproductions. EotB has music and more. 3. What about a manual for the Regular Edition? This could be a possibility. 4. Why are you charging so much??? This is a general question that has been addressed by a few people that are simply wanting to flame this topic. I've heard multiple things... I've even heard a claim out there that I was going to make everyone pay for their carts, then buy the proto, and then make the carts for everyone so that I can own the proto of EotB. In a very matter-of-fact way, I want to say: That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. My intentions with this release are to get this cart out there to the public. It has stayed in a closet or collection for too long without it being released. The Lynx community needs to have a great game released within this next year (and there are actually quite a few great games coming-lynxopoly, and the multicart are just a few examples). I've heard a lot of blubber about me wanting to release this and creating a so called "special Edition cart" in order to control the market... or to just create a certain rarity for a cart. That really isn't my intention. I don't care if the regular release gets a rarity of 7 and the other release gets a 9. It doesn't really matter to me. What matters is that people finally get to explore the sewers of WaterDeep, exchange information with each other about what spells work better on what enemies, which characters are better to start with, etc. There is a lot about this game I want to discuss with people. I've never made a YOUTUBE video before, but I may attempt it so that I can show the game running. NOTE: This plan was thrown together at the beginning without a lot of though placed behind it. The prices were prices that were in place according to estimates I recieved from someone else. I don't think the prices are going to stick. Consider these the worst case scenario. I want them to be release cheaper, and I believe we have the means of doing so. So... please understand that there will be changes from time to time. It is possible that the limited edition will go away. Then again, it may not. Those signed up may get individually numbered carts, and extras at the same price: All for just signing up for the LE version. Please keep in mind that changes may happen. Thank you! I'll post a link to my blog sometime soon when I start my EOTB entries... Thanks! RESERVE slots for the 60 carts have been filled. Will it increase? It is possible. I would have to check with PCB prices and stuff. There will not be any other increases to the Limited Edition carts. If you want to be placed in the reserves, please add your name or send me a PM. If people drop out, you will fill their spots. If the list gets expanded, you will be added! Thank you all
  22. As I said on the other topic, I think it would be interesting to make a top 100 games for the system. It´s been done on other sites, but they have dissapeared or were done by few people. Here, everyone can vote their 10 favourite games to rank them on a big list. The first game on the list will receive 10 points, the second one 9, and so on. Every 5 or 6 votes I´ll do an update of the list. I hope that people like the idea and starts voting. This could be an important reference to know wich games are must haves! You can: -Vote for up to 10 original cartridge games and/or -Vote for up to 5 Super Charger games and/or -Vote for up to 5 homebrews. My votes: 1- Asteroids 2- Adventure 3- Missile Command 4- Keystone Capers 5- Circus 6- River Raid 7- Plaque Attack 8- Jr. Pac-Man 9- Boxing 10- Jawbreaker Original Carts: 1. 23. PLEASE READ! Alright, so here is the deal. I decided to sell everything, EXCEPT my extremely rare items. The SE manual, the myriad box and manual, my complete Caltron 6 in 1, my complete Cheetahmen II, and my RacerMate challenge II cart all stay with me. That is… I am keeping them if I decide to ever get back into collecting; I don’t want to have to track these ones down again. So, without further ado, here is the list of everything for sale…. I mean EVERYTHING! If they don’t sell here, then off to ebay next week. Pictures upon request and money orders take first priority. If you have bought from me in the past a check is fine. If you must, I can accept PayPal, but I would rather not since they take too much money from me. Now, to the good stuff – condition is listed after the game, price is listed after the condition. If there is no condition listed, then you can assume the box, game and cart is in overall great shape. PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE SHIPPING.
