Hello Atariage members! I have for sale today a Rare CIB copy of the Color label Demolition Herby for the Atari 2600. This game has a 7 rarity rating here. This game is rare with it's box and manual and has only popped up on ebay or forums a few times in this condition. I'm looking the get around $75, I will trade for a Dreamcast with Games or Saturn Games, just let me know what you have. On the forum I typically use I have a +2 feedback rating. Shipping depends on the area. PM me with questions/concerns! I accept pay-pal only! Thanks for looking! DH.bmp

I'm pretty serious about selling my recently acquired Atari 2600 Superman cart labeled with the Sears Tele-games logo. Photos attached are of the cart. Serious offers only, plz! I hold the option to refuse all proposed offers, close the offer, and keep the cart for myself; no offense to any interested parties. I would prefer to NOT go through any auction sites & have them rake me over the coals with fees & whatnot. I will accept payment through PayPal only! No other method, please! (Just want to ensure everyone gets what they want.) I have received a few offers already, just want to open it up to as many collectors as possible since this appears to be a diamond in the rough & in all fairness, everyone deserves a chance.

Hello! I purchased this game last year at a thrift store a year ago and was wondering what it's worth I've been looking for information on how much it's worth for awhile and haven't come up with anything yet. It's the rarer color label and it's complete in the box. Does anything know anything about this game? I added a picture to show what the condition is in. DH.bmp

SOLD! I'm going to be doing a bit of Spring cleaning soon. Since I'm really hurting on funds, I plan on selling my Atari 2600 Sunnyvale Heavy Sixer. It has been in my basement for a while, so I'd like to test the system before selling it. The system worked the last time I used it. It is in good cosmetic condition. RF cable has a little wiring exposed near the opening on the console, but I wrapped it with electrical tape. I plan on selling this system with the power supply and maybe a controller or two if requested. Might add more to this package. Don't be afraid to give me some polite input if you have a reasonable offer. I will post pictures soon, or I can send photos by PM or email. I accept Paypal. Thanks for looking! Hope to make a deal here at AtariAge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: Tested the system. Sadly, the system tries to run the game, displays properly for a few seconds, then gives out. My 4 switch had this issue until I gave it the correct power supply. I'm using a black Atari power supply with the big logo. It says it's compatible with the CX-2600. Made in Taiwan. From my understanding, there were a number of different power supplies for the Heavy Sixer. Early ones were grey. If you're still interested, I will sell it as-is for a massive discount. $25 excluding shipping. Please make an offer if that doesn't sound good. I can still send photos. It's a bit dusty, but in good shape. All aluminum switches are there and work fine. Not dirty at all, but could use light cart slot cleaning. Sunnyvale sticker is fully intact. Was once repaired by Atari2600.com based on the sticker on the bottom. Trim, woodgrain, plastic, and Atari logo are in very nice shape. I am not the first owner and did not mistreat it. I would consider this system worth restoring. I'd like to work with you on making a deal anyway. I can't repair it as I don't have the funds to invest in it. Let me know if you're still interested! Thanks for reading. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: SOLD!

I'm going through the Stella programming guide, and I hit one point that confuses me just a bit. This is less about programming and more about the hardware, so if this topic should be moved please let me know. Anyway, in looking at the documentation the Atari has an display resolution of 192 lines, and including the vertical sync and overscan, that's 226 lines. On physical TVs of the time, was that the actual vertical display resolution? Or was the TIA able to adjust the vertical resolution the TV was using? I could have sworn that the NTSC signal standard / VHS was closer to 480 vertical lines. Thanks, -Etan

There is quite a long thread regarding an Atari 2600 clone been crowded funded and imho I think it would need some form of harmony support. At the moment the Flashback 2/2+ which contain the 2600 on a chip and for that matter a lot of the FPGA clones out there don't emulate "illegal instructions" that are used particularly with many new homebrews. Would it be possible to have a modified version of the Harmony software that emulates the missing illegal instructions? Alternatively how hard would it be to modify the flashback 2 core to give full compatibility? Finally is the "Flashback" name tied to the current owners of Atari?

Hi all. But a question that's been burning in my mind in the past few months is if it is possible to build a synthesizer utilizing the 2600's TIA (or even two of them) to build a Minimoog style synthesizer. I've seen broadly similar projects (google them) like midi controlled TIAs, & the Gatari 2600. But would going all out & adding "Moog style" controls, a VCA, VCF, pitch bend & modulation wheels even work? (assuming it's even possible) Just a question I thought I'd pose to the hardware hackers & mods here. I'm sure this will make for some interesting reading!

I added a potentiometer to the RC circuit in Pitfall II: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWONwis4D9Q The music sounds normal with the pot tuned about 2/3 of the way. Overall, the tempo seems to be unaffected. What do you guys think?

I saw this for sale at a local used bookstore and snapped it up for $2. That artwork looked pretty familiar. The book is pretty cool and all but one of the games run in 8K. It even has instructions for conversions to TRS 80 computers. So my question to you guys is have you ever seen this before? EDIT: Sorry for the double post, mod can you remove?

I bought woody sixer vcs off ebay - it looks in mint condition, as do the paddels and joysticks. It doesn't have a power supply, do I need a genuine atari power supply, or can I get a multi adapter from maplin and use that? If so, which way is the polarity and what voltage should I use? I am in the UK. I am so excited!!

I seem to have started regaining a desire to make the 2600 Do Stuff. Most likely I'm going to try to start from scratch on the whole Action RPG/Maze Realms idea. Trying to get the old program to do anything new generally resulted in a lost month of bug fixing with nothing done. Dasm and crimson editor is installed again, and I've re-bookmarked the old resources I use to have on the old computer. Going to try to find time to actually do stuff with it by the weekend - at least try to work out how the display kernel is going to work. I'm pretty sure I've already planned far more ideas than will be able to fit on a cartridge, but oh well!

I just wanted to share with you my current project. I modified a Donkey Kong 2600 rom to look more like the arcade version. I'm fond with how it's turning out, especially Mario's sprite. I hope you enjoy playing the rom! (Note: There is a glitch with Mario's hat if he jumps at the top of the first level. I hope someone can try to fix that). DK.bin

Does anyone know of an emulator that lets you disable/enable the visibility of the 5 sprite objects (Sprite 1/2, Missile 1/2, Ball object) on the fly? I know that in games like Pitfall, the game uses the Pong ball sprite adjusted every line to draw the swinging vines. I'd be curious to see what other odd little hacks like that are in games. Thanks,

Okay, so I bought a 2600 Jr. with 41 games from a guy on Craigslist for $30. He said it worked the last time he played it, which was about 2 years ago. I took it home and plugged it in, and (surprise!) it didn't work. I've spent time googling all day today and yesterday, and can't find a solution to my problem. I've hooked it up to an old CRT, and when I turn it on I see the game and can hear the sound for about half of a second before it cuts to a black screen. I've tried using a different RCA-Coax hookup at a local retro store, still no good. Plus, the RCA-Coax it came with works on my NES. (Yes, for those wondering, it's a manual switch box) So on to solution 2. I tried cleaning the contacts via rubbing alcohol and q-tips on a cartridge and putting the game in and pulling it out several times. Still no good. I've tried multiple games, and I get the same thing every time. I'm going back to the retro store to try using a different power adapter tomorrow, the one that came with it doesn't warm up when plugged in, but the light on the console comes on. It's really hard to tell when the cover is on. Is this normal for the Jr.? Oh, I also cracked it open and aside from a few rust spots here and there, it looks to be in pretty good condition. All the soldering is solid and I can't really see anything wrong with it. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if I'm wasting my time trying to fix it. I'm hoping it's not a chip problem, but I don't know much about the 2600 to tell.

This may be the only example of this clone that is unknown to all, the 2600 systemdeveloped by Robby Game. http://www.gameplayerspecial.com/robby-game-the-rarest-atari-2600-brazillian-clone/ Has anyone heard of him?

I recently built a home-made paddle controller for my 7800. I used 1 MOhm linear potentiometers, as was indicated in the Atari field manual, and was confirmed in several other forum posts. However, 9/10ths of the dial's range is a deadzone, with the last 1/10th actually being registered by the game. (In this case, 2600's Super Breakout.) Before I started this, I built a prototype using a Maxitronix electronics kit, and I had a brain-fart and thought that the 100 KOhm potentiometer I hooked up was the same as a 1 MOhm one, and I got the expected results when I played the game. So my question is: why did the 100K one give me the expected results, but the 1 MOhm one is mostly useless? I've never acutally used a 2600 paddle controller, so I don't know how many degrees of movement it allowed. (p.s. I'm pretty new to electronics, so please be kind. )
