  2. Does anyone know if the Atari 2600 AC adaptor will work with the original Lynx. The two cords look identical and have the same voltage but i only saw pictures of it so i dunno if the 2600 cord will fit into the Lynx. Has anyone ever tried using it or know if it works? Thanks!

  7. So I was browsing eBay and noticed this crazy auction: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 230783825314 Who would want to buy that? To top it all off shipping is $15? Seriously? Also anyone else notice the 'overpriced' atari items? PPL on ebay need to rethink their strategy on how to sell stuff! Anyone think this is a good deal? (Sarcastic)
  8. All my loose doubles are up on ebay.au now, starting at $15 each for those I have seen on ebay from time to time, and others starting at $20 each which I believe are harder to come by. Combined postage. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. Cheers for looking
  9. So a few weeks ago I was going through the closet at my granparents house. I found about 30 2600 carts, but when I asked about where the 2600 was, they said my reclusive uncle who lives about 100+ miles away took it about 20 years ago. Working 2600's go for about 50 bucks if i'm not mistaken. Is there any way to build an NES cartridge with a connector port on top that accepts 2600 games and is able to play them using NES Hardware (maybe using dip switches on the converter to select difficultly and game modes)? I don't have very much programming knowledge at all but I am a fast learner. I can solder OK. I have an original front loader NES and a Retron3 avalible to me.
  10. Hey guys, I'm new here but I just wanted to let you guys know that I have a few sealed Atari 2600 games on ebay. The most intriguing of which is Death Trap by Avalon Hill. If you're interested in checking out my auction feel free: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 200738737487 I greatly appreciate your interest. I also have a sealed copy of Krull and RealSports FOOTBALL (which I know isn't worth much at all). Let me know if you have any questions! I'll try and hop on this forum every day during the auction.

  12. Let's talk about this for a moment. Would you be open to the idea of an Angry Birds game on the Atari 2600? Do you think the 2600 could support such a game? How would it work? What would it look like? Give me your best speculation on this subject. I'm very interested to hear your replies. IMO, I think a talented homebrew developer could pull this one off. It might even be really fun too.
  13. Just a few 2600 Homebrew/Reproduction/Hack games I'm interested in buying. I usually don't collect boxes but some games came with them, so I'll take them in that case. Send me a PM if there's anything in my list you are willing to sell or know where I can purchase them from! I'm also looking for several other homebrew games so feel free to message me if you have some that are unlisted here. Please have some form of Feedback! (AA, DP, GG, Ebay, etc) I'm not interested in buying from someone with no posts or any feedback. Also, be aware I am located in Canada for those who won't ship across the border. 14. I was playing Commando the other day (up to about 700,000 points till I got tired of it), and noticed it only has 3 actual levels instead of 4. I always thought the 8 missions consisted of 4 levels (Duty 1) repeated twice (Duty 2), but I was wrong. I thought maybe there was something overlooked when it was programmed (wouldn't be the first time I've seen this -- like the colors for floor 4 of Xenophobe being the same as floor 3 when it actually has its own color table, but the pointer is wrong). I got into hacking the colors and sprites (it started out as just seeing how closely I could copy the 7800 version player sprite into this), and I've noticed some things that just raised more questions. Each level has its own copies of the sprites, color tables, and playfield data. However, each level's ROM area includes palm trees which don't appear anywhere in levels two or three. I'm wondering if there was no intention of a level 4, or if it was going to use parts of other levels but just never got completed so level 2 was used twice instead... How difficult would it be to add a distinct level 4? How about changing one of those palm trees in the level 2 or 3 areas into a pillbox and using it in a level 4? Could the playfield be used for hills and barriers along the sides of the screen instead of just mini hills and pits? Are these things something a programmer would be willing to look into and take on? This isn't intended to be a hack posting thread, but an actual questions/discussion thread. However, here's the sprite and color edits I did. I was able to get the sprite very close to the 7800 version, but then decided I didn't like the 7800's run animation, so here's the result. Player/enemy sprites changed Enemy color changed to gray to match the arcade Fertilized those mounds in level 1 so now green "grass" grows on top Sandbag barriers now tan instead of green Grenade boxes now green instead of purple Extra lives sprite edited Orange and blue bridges in levels 2 and 3 changed to gray Green of level 2 / 4 changed to be a little less bright Ground of level 3 darkened a bit Detail (shading) added to fortresses Commando.bin And I couldn't call myself Airborne without doing this. Commando Airborne!.bin Airborne!

  19. INTRODUCTION: Not everyone knows that ALL of the Power Supplies built back in the day - including original ones - were unregulated AC/DC Adapters. Which means that the outputted voltage was not stabilized. As a result the poor Atari 2600 was continuously feeded with a voltage fluctuating between 9.8 and 10.40V. Not only - The provided current was spikey and badly filtered, which stressed the console causing heat issues thus premature failures. No wonder that, back in the day, most of the issues on both Consoles and Home Computers were caused by ICs dying after power pack failure. DESCRIPTION: The Deluxe Atari 2600 Power Supply is an efficient item which delivers a current which is not only stable but also clean and properly filtered. Furthermore, being it tiny and lightweight, shipping is obviously much cheaper than a heavy, 30 years old, obsolete Atari 2600 AC/DC Adapter. The Atari 2600 Deluxe Power Supply adds longevity and relief to your console. SPECIFICATIONS: • [email protected] • OVP (OverVoltage Protection) • Highly Filtered S.M.P.S. (Switching Module Power Supply) • 100~240V (Worldwide Usage) PICTURE: PRICE: €18,80 SHIPPING: €6,80 (EU); €8,80 (United States, Canada & Australia)
  20. So I FINALLY decided to jump into the ColecoVision scene recently, along with a million other AA members, lol and purchased a modded console off of Todd. As I was reading the reviews I couldn't help but notice how everyone praised the Pause mod that Todd does. I find it kinda silly how I have and installed the Pause mod one of my my 2600s and I <3 it! However, I never hear anyone praise CPUWIZ on his Pause mod? Does anyone besides me that has the pause mod like theirs? Of course it drives me CRAZY when I switch my Atari 2600's around and play on my H6'er that isn't modded and the phone rings, lol.
  21. Hi I was looking for either or both if you have them Inca Gold and Pinball Zeller games. I would love to have them boxed, but would also be happy with a Cartridge only. PM me if anyone is open to sell to me. Thanks
  22. So I always wondered where did the '2600' number come from? I understand with the later systems by doing simple math: 5200 = 2600 * 2 7800 = (5200 * 2) - 2600 From doing a Wikipedia search on Atari 2600 they state it came from the serial number...but I feel that they came up with the name first before they came up with the serial number. Any ideas?
  23. I came across a Tigervision Miner 2049er and Activision Private Eye that I am interested in selling. Both have original manual and box. I’d like to get fair value for them so if you need either for your collection please let me know.
  24. I noticed that with some of my Activision games (Frostbite, Pitfall II) that when I pop in the game and turn the system on nothing shows up on screen. I have to take the game out, re-insert it then it works. All of my games are clean, and it's only Activision games that don't work right away so I doubt it's the system. Does anyone else have came across this problem with Activision games on their Atari 2600? Or does my console not like Activision for some unknown reason?
