Hi I have some problems with the colors of some of my PAL 60 games. The console I use is a composite modded PAL Heavy Sixer on a modern Samsung TV. The game is Zippy The Porcupine, and I haven't played it before, but I can definitely tell that the colors are all washed out. What's supposed to be red is pink and what's supposed to be blue is white. Other PAL games displays perfectly fine. I've added a photo to visualize what's happening.

Hi all, I have created the following post yesterday: Someone just told me that I should have created it in this subforum. I don't want to duplicate the post but I have also not found how to move the post here. Any suggestions? Also, if you can comment on the bankswitch schemes you currently use in your programs and any experience you can share on how to implement a bankswitch controller on a 8bit Microchip PIC will be much appreciated. Cheers!

Here we've got an Atari 2600/VCS "Light Sixer" Bundle with 20 games. Everything has been cleaned and tested and works great. Please see the attached pictures for exact condition of all items. In addition to the console itself, you get 20 handpicked games (seven with manuals), an OEM Atari power supply, an OEM Atari CX-40 joystick and an RF adapter so that you can hook up the Atari to a more modern TV without the need for a switchbox (your mileage may vary on the newest TVs); basically everything you need to get gaming immediately. A couple of the Atari Corp. games fit a little snugly in the cart slot but still work just fine. A couple of the games' end labels are coming up a bit on the left corner. Here are the games: Asteroids (with manual) Battlezone Berzerk Combat Crystal Castles (Atari Corp., with manual) Defender Donkey Kong Joust (with Atari Corp. manual) Jungle Hunt (Atari Corp., with manual) Kangaroo (Atari Corp., with manual) Missile Command Pac-Man Pitfall! (with manual) Pole Position (Atari Corp.) Raiders of the Lost Ark (Atari Corp., end label misprint) River Raid (with manual) Space Invaders Tennis Vanguard Yars' Revenge Looking for $100 plus shipping OBO. Please shoot me a PM with any questions or to get a shipping quote. Thanks!

Hello Hopefully someone more experienced can help me with my Atari 2600 problem: I fell in love with the Atari VCS last year when I got a Flashback 8 Gold HD. Finally I bought a real Atari VCS (Darth Vader, NTSC version) on eBay a couple of weeks ago. It was allready modded to A/V output by the previous owner. Unfortunately it shows some heavy jittering/shaking when using paddle games. First I carefully cleaned the Paddle pots but this didn't help (and it happens with other controllers as well). During cleaning I accidentally found out that jittering will stop as long as I touch the bare cable which is soldered to the circular resistor with my hands. Because there was a loose connection within the power supply I bought a new power adaptor but this did not affect this jittering problem. I am not a technician but I guess if something simple like touching an electrical contact can stop this jittering it might be fixable. I added a Youtube video which shows the problem and some pictures of the paddle and mainboard. On the paddle picture I point with a screwdriver to the sensitive/touchy contact. The red circle on the mainboard picture shows the corresponding electric solder bump on the board - touching this point with my hand will stop jittering as well. Because it is not that easy to get an NTSC Atari in Germany (without ordering from the USA) it would be great if I could repair this unit. I will be very grateful if someone could help me with some educated guesses or hints how to solve this problem Youtube link:

I checked out the AtariAge online store and noticed that Pac-Man 4K is no longer available, even when I clicked "search", no sign of it available, what happened to it, I DO have it on my SD card of almost 700 titles but play that one religiously and many are missing the boat as it is far better then the 1981 Atari original (which was also 4K) and even prefer it as opposed to the 8K Pac-Man Arcade that is also great that is still available.

Hey guys, Im a new member to Atariage, and I look forward to the things this site has to offer! I have a copy of Pepsi Invaders/Coke Wins for the Atari 2600 that I’m looking to either sell or trade. I also posted the game on eBay. If anyone is interested to trade for it, I’m open to any of the really rare Atari 2600 titles. I have attached photos of the cart, the interior (board), and myself starting it up on my Atari 2600. If anyone is interested in either trading for or buying my game, please message me. Thank you.

Is there an official list that I am missing? Please let me know, I've searched and searched and found nothing. Could combine this list with Atari 2800 serials as well. I have a Sears Video Arcade 2 S/N: SV 382 000701 Photos to follow... -Dan

I'm declaring R3 to be the final version. (This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a few weeks while writing this game, and I've really enjoyed trying out other homebrews.) Water Diver is a reflex game, for one or two players (simultaneously): dots are bouncing everywhere in the water; collect the good ones, while avoiding the bad ones! Five Six Twelve exciting levels, four exciting songs. ? No title screen yet... The graphics are pretty simple, but I think it's fun, and challenging. I have yet to break 150 points, except when testing at slow emulation speeds. There can be a lot going on onscreen. My high score during development is 162; for R3 as released, my best so far is 131. Latest release: water_diver_R3.bin (NTSC) water_diverpal_R3.bin (PAL60) Older releases: water_diver_R2.bin (NTSC) water_diverpal_R2.bin (PAL60) water_diver.bin (NTSC) water_diverpal.bin (PAL60) I've tested in Stella 6.0.1, and on an NTSC 2600. In Stella, it's difficult with keyboard, but I find that it works quite well with a mouse. The two-player mode hasn't had a lot of play; please let me know what you think! Also feel free to suggest PAL color tweaks, or whatever else. I have a very small amount of room left. I expect to at least add a few more levels. Or maybe a title screen. Controls: Joysticks. Either player can start at any time, by pressing their fire button; after that, just steer the button will give a lateral speed boost. Between games, you can cycle through game modes, with Select: In the default mode, you advance from level to level in time with the music. In "flow mode" you stay on one level forever -- any level you have reached previously. (This is more fun than it sounds!) Hints: There's no way to only one level where you can restore your health. You can see how much damage you've accumulated by looking at your score. The faster you pick up the good dots, the sooner new ones can appear. (It can be dangerous to pay too much attention to this fact.) When the water turns green, watch out... The game is inspired by https://www.khanacademy.org/computer-programming/water-diver-sounds-added/5430351862169600

Hi all, I just wanted to share a new homebrew I just finished up - Bit quest II. If you played the original, then I would say Bit Quest II is a logical evolution of that idea - it's much bigger and has more variety. It's an adventure-type game with an overworld and several dungeons with hidden items. It's sort of inspired by the original Zelda, along with games like Venture and Adventure for the 2600. It also incorporates a lot of feedback I received around the original. In any case, hope you enjoy! Some notes: * Joystick to move, fire button to attack. (Full instructions included) The premise is, the hero from the first Bit Quest is captured, so you have to rescue him. There are 4 keys hidden throughout the world which will unlock the final dungeon. * Uses DPC+ so you'll need to play in a compatible emulator, like Stella. * Max hearts can be increased by finding heart containers, and you can continue after a game-over. * (NEW) Sub-screen with Game Select switch Attached are some screenshots, and the download link is below. If you're interested in checking out my other homebrews including the first Bit Quest, my Atari page is here: http://atari.metalbabble.com/ Thanks & have fun! UPDATE: I've made a few tweaks to the game since the initial post, thanks to some great ideas and feedback. I'm taking the attachments off the post - to help streamline things. The up-to-date latest version of the ROM is up on my site. Direct download link below: ** CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD **
