  1. Selling a pair of ColecoVision controllers. Asking $20 for the pair plus $5 shipping, or free pickup if you live in the northern metro Detroit area. Will also consider trading for select Intellivision game(s) or white Sears Super Arcade controllers with db9 connections.
  2. Top 25 ColecoVision Games Top 25 Colecovision Games. I’m completely new to the CBS ColecoVision console. I was aware of its existence, I briefly played on one back in the eighties, but didn’t walk away with any special memories. However, recently all that changed with the Top 25 ColecoVision Games. What I’ve discovered needs sharing, not for those who already know about the system, but for those that don’t, want to find out more or feel as if they missed out. I can’t think of a single 80s gaming system that consistently brought high-quality arcade ports to the home — Welcome to the Top 25 Colecovision Games!
  3. This is my third video focusing on the ColecoVision from CBS Coleco. I'm still blown away by the quality of this console and its games. This video looks at the history, the struggles and games that made the console sing. There’s a fantastic library of games, mostly arcade conversions, with a small percentage of original titles that nearly almost hit the mark. #Colecovision #CBSColecovision #TopColecovisionGames
  4. The Collector Vision Phoenix is an open-source FPGA ColecoVision compatible system. Join me as I look through this new purchase of mine and its bundled games. This system provide video in HDMI output, Digital audio via HDMI, F18A Video enhanced compatibility built in, Opcode SGM compatibility built in, built in Atari2600 core and the ability to add your own games with the SD card. #CollectorVisionPhoenix #colecovision #ColecoVisionTopGames
  5. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164958713999 Either of these worth with the MiSTer for Jaguar controller support? I'd like to use the Colecovision core with it. Thanks
  6. Working on the graphics for a future Electric Adventures release for the MSX, Spectravideo and ColecoVision, a port of Kangaroo in the arcades. Quite a decent multi-screen platform game, that I always enjoyed back in the day. Different aspect ratio, so the layout can't be perfect, but I think this captures the feel of the game so far. More detail to be added to the greenery sections and of course sprites for our main player character, little Joey and Naughty Monkeys to follow. Original arcade screen for reference: More updates to follow...
  7. My Retro/Vintage Gaming Hobby I Am a Child from the Dawn of the Video Game Age Taking a side trip here away from my adventures here. Anyone who knows me personally, can attest that I am somewhat of a geek and so it’s no surprise that I became an mechanical/aerospace engineer by trade. With that stated, I always had an interest in building things and tinkering with electronics, etc.. As I was growing up in the 70's I was fortunate to experience and be able to participate in the dawn of a new era. It all started simple enough with my father coming back from a business trip in Texas one year with one of the first ever digital calculators. I was hooked. I loved the display, the tactile feel of the buttons and the ease of use. I was further inspired when I saw advanced calculators becoming available and even into my high school and college years where I always had to have the latest programmable calculators for my science, math and eventually engineering courses. Now this seems pretty minor in this day and age, but back then, looong before cell phones, home computers, high level object oriented programming languages, etc.. this was an exciting era for me. Read more here... http://rubikonadventures.blogspot.com... A long time friend of mine came by for a visit one day and asked if it was OK to shoot video of my old video game collection and my "man cave" where I hibernate during the winter months when I am not out exploring. Enjoy another facet of my persona here: https://youtu.be/818OZog0Y4I Me Meeting Nolan Bushnell, Founder of Atari and founder of the industry.
  8. Hi! I made an Atari adapter for use on my colecovision. Just wired female adapters to a singular male controller cable. It works just fine on my 2600daptor but, I am hesitant to use it on my colecovision console. I just wired all the same wires to the same wires so my thought was both controllers have a common GND and the dpads matched but I can use an Atari stick rather than the colecovision? is this safe? Did I do something silly/not recommended?

  11. Anyone else ever do this? In emulation, it's easy to map the UP button on a control pad to a button so in Smurf Rescue, you can press a button to jump instead of having to press up! I did notice that the way the game is coded, you do have to stop pressing left or right to jump (you can't hold down left or right and press jump at the same time) but I still think this is a bit easier than pressing UP as you can sometimes accidentally press left or right while trying to press UP. Anyone ever try this? Also, anyone ever consider doing a "Jump Button Hack" for this game?
  12. Hey guys, I'm starting this new thread for the various adapters I make since the old thread was getting a bit long, and the original posting didn't contain the various adapters I now offer. The original thread can be found here. Here is the current lineup of adapters and extension cables I have for sale: Intellivision 1 Flashback Controller Adapters (for the original console, INTV, Radio Shack etc. variations with the "hard wired" controllers): These are $24/pair (only sold in pairs). Approximate length is 18 inches. Intellivision II / Sears Flashback Controller Adapters (for the Intellivision II and Sears consoles with the removable db9 connector controllers): These are $14 each, or two for $26. If desired, you can specify the color of the decorative heat shrink tubing near the cable ends. Black is also an option. If not specified, you will receive whatever color I have in stock at the time. Approximate length is 6 feet. Standard db9 controller extension cables - 6 foot length (for Intellivision II / Sears consoles, Atari 2600 / 7800, Sega Genesis, Atari and Commodore computers; basically anything that uses a standard db9 type connector): These are $7.00 each. Colecovision Y-Adapter cable - allows connection of standard Colecovision system controller and an additional compatible joystick (Atari 2600, etc) without the need to unplug / swap controllers one at a time. Should work fine on other consoles that use db9 connectors - but only tested on a Colecovision): These are $12 each. If desired, you can specify the color of the heat shrink tubing, including black. If not specified, you will receive whatever color I have in stock at the time. Approximate length is 24 inches. ----------------------------------------------- Please send me a PM here on Atari Age if you are interested in any of these cables. Include your shipping / address information, and preferably an email address, and I will get back to you with a total. Payment is via PayPal. Credit cards (processed through my business - White Flag Computing) are also an option if you don't use PayPal. You can also email adapters@intellivisionaries.com instead of sending a PM if you prefer. Shipping is not included in the above prices. USA orders will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail (usually flat rate small box, which is $6.80 - the price went up January 2016, it used to be $5.95). I can also ship USA orders via First Class Mail in a padded mailer for a little bit less. International orders will be shipped via USPS International First Class (padded mailer - price varies depending on weight and destination). Thanks!

  14. Here are the latest Collectors Lists for the ColecoVision and ADAM Computer systems. Please note that I am not maintaining Rarity ratings anymore, so what you see listed should only be used as a general guideline. There are still many items to add to these respective lists (especially Homebrew items), but time hasn't been on my side of late and they will have to wait until next year's update. Enjoy and as always, please feel free to share additions, corrections, thoughts, etc. in this thread. 15. It was one of the most audacious moves in video game history - when Coleco commandeered Atari's massive game library, giving the already attractive console an even stronger position in the marketplace, challenging the very concept of "console exclusive games". The common belief is that in the ensuing legal battle, Coleco won in court, due to the Atari VCS being built from standard "off the shelf" parts, and thus there was nothing to infringe upon. However, it's a misconception that isn't true. In this video, I tried to correct the record regarding the myth, and to tell the story of Coleco's multiple variations on Atari hardware.
  16. About 2015-2016 Forum user named "Byte Knight" was upgrading Colecovision Flashback unit to what he called "The Ultimate" Is there anyone out there who knows if this person is still doing this and knows how to get in touch with him. This information would be greatly appreciated.

Complete system with RGB, composite, pause, intro skip BIOS, 2 controllers and power supply $329. Plus shipping for all these listed items. RGB mod: Here is a link to a thread in the ColecoVision Forum: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/232809-new-rgb-colecovision-mod/ Here is a quick video I made with cell phone showing the RGB mod connected to the Framemeister and the HD Video Converter on a Vizio LCD TV. RGB mod outputs awesome video signal and dual mono audio through a discreet 8 pin mini din jack on the back of the console. This mod was designed to be used with a RGB to HDMI scaler. The XRGB mini Framemeister and the HD Video Converter (sometimes referred to as Panlong) are my tested and recommend scalers. They provide awesome picture quality on LCD/LED TVs. This RGB mod should also work with any monitor that accepts a 15khz video signal, although I have not tested on any monitors and cannot make any guarantees. https://www.amazon.com/Panlong-Converter-Scaler-Coaxial-Consoles/dp/B00D86UYBS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1420692028&sr=8-1&keywords=scart+hdmi&linkCode=ll1&tag=atariage&linkId=6f51c402c5548c619cfeae00ff569b61 I have also seen them on Ebay for around $43 with free shipping. RGB Cables: Your choice of one of the three cables listed below is included with the RGB mod service. One or both of the other cables can be purchased at the time of service. I won't sell cables separately at a later date. 1. male to male 8 pin mini din cable. This will plug directly into the back of the ColecoVision and directly into the 8 pin mini din jack on the Framemeister. $10 if you choose another cable and want to add this one. 2. male 8 pin mini din to male 21 pin connector wired EURO SCART. For use with the HD Video Converter. $15 if you choose another cable and want to add this one. 3. male 8 pin mini din to male 21 pin connector wired JP-21(Japanese 21) RGB. This will plug into the 8 pin mini to female JP-21 adapter that is included with the Framemeister. $15 if you choose another cable and want to add this one. DIY Composite video Mod board (cord included) Picture below DIY purchase price for mod board with a/v cord included $29 shipped anywhere in the USA. This board was designed and tested for NTSC. The ColecoVision outputs only mono sound and this mod outputs the mono to both left and right. (dual mono). If you choose to buy a Composite modded system from another seller on Ebay, Craigslist ect...make sure they are using the LM318 amp chip and not the transistor mod. The transistor gets super hot and is prone to failure and there are brightness issues. 20. OK, reality sucks, but I am giving in to the inevitable and putting a donation button on my ADAM page. Although last time I paid for hosting and domain registration, I signed up for three years, my package runs out in 2022 and I will have to come up with money to renew or just let the whole thing go. If you're feeling generous at any point, go there and find the DONATION button at www.sacnews.net/adamcomputer.
  21. I´m have two facts in Colecovision history what I don´t find anywhere: - What year Eric Bromley was hired by Coleco? - Year what Coleco created your P&D departament? Someone know?
  22. Complete ColecoVision Adam for sale - $265 CAD/$210 US + Shipping or Local Pick-up Tested today and working. Hardware includes printer, main console, keyboard, and one controller. Monitor is not included, however I will provide cable and instructions to connect (any monitor with composite video and audio in / separate speakers will work). Software includes Buck Rogers, SmartLogo (in box w/ manual) and Carnival cartridge. SmartLogo is a great introduction to programming for young learners! The printer works as a power supply and moves, however is no longer suitable for printing. The tape drive is working well.
  23. Does anyone know anything about the multi-cart that John Lester is playing with in this video? It appears to be by Sean Kelly, but John says it's got 154 ROMs on it, and on the menu screen we see "The Ultimate Multi-Cart". John says he picked this up at the Vegas CGE (I assume the 2010 expo). This particular multi-cart is not listed among the multi-carts in NIAD's Collector List so I just want to know if this is a previously undocumented product, maybe a CGE exclusive, and/or if it's a Sean Kelly creation.
