Here's my desk with some of my more modern consoles, my computer, and one of my favorite consoles of all time, the Atari Jaguar. I've always thought it looked cool/intriguing as a kid, and I recently picked it up. Other than that I have my PS3 super slim, a red Nintendo Wii, and a Halo Edition Xbox. I do use my computer to game (mainly for GoG/Steam games, occasionally Overwatch), but I definitely am on my consoles way more often.

  9. I am on the west coast, Los Angeles. I want to buy an Atari 800XL or 130XE. I need to make sure it will work with an s-video cable. In Atari 800XL versions produced before August of 1984, this cable will not work. This can also be checked with the version of Atari BASIC (This would be listed as Rev C but not all Rev C versions support S-Video) Thanks!

  11. Been looking for an Atari 800 or similar spec XL/XE model. Prefer XL/XE model, but will take the old style too! Ebay prices are either way too out there for me for what's being offered or Sold 'As Is and Untested' which I always kind of read as 'doesn't work and I'm selling my junk to you! Ahahaha!' Also interested in an SD Cart of SD Drive for it, but I'm finding those for more reasonable prices online so not required! Found one from an offer here! Thanks for checking~
  12. Okay, so I am a huge science fiction nut, from Asimov to Herbert to Adams. But I dont just love Science Fiction books, I love movies and television too, like Blade Runner, and Star Trek. Another big thing I love is Science Fiction in video games and i cant think of a decade of more science fiction in gaming than the Eighties. If you are digging in a pile of atari games and pick put a random cart, id say 9/10 its going to be at least something sci fi releated (most likely a Space Invaders clone but thats neither here nor there) like space or robots or aliens. Now my question is which books or rather which decade of books would you say inspired these science fiction stories found in the manuals of these old games? I just love these stories and id love to read full books like them! This doesnt have to be atari necessarily, arcades work too!
  13. I'm mainly looking to see what other systems are owned by those who own Atari 8-bit computer systems. But, if you're devoted to playing a lot of Atari 8-bit on emulation, or if you're a former dedicated Atari 8-bit computer owner, go ahead and vote too. Personally, I only own a 2600 at the moment, which was the system my family used when I was young (needs the TIA replaced). I wouldn't mind having a 7800, as it covers the 2600 and then all of its own. But I'm in no hurry to get one, as I don't find the 7800 library all that great. I'm yet to find a compelling reason to get a 5200 when I own all of its games, some converted, to play on the 8-bit computers. None of the other consoles interest me, although I see the Lynx as a much more attractive system, now that its video can be fed to a monitor (after being modded). I have little interest in the other Atari computers; for their era, I'd rather own a Mac -- which I do (Quadra 605, in need of a cap job).
  14. From the album: My Game Collection

I recently Acquired this one from a friend, through some trading. It has some slight yellowing, but not too much. It came with a floppy drive controller. (Apr, 22, 2018)
  15. I recently purchased an Atari 400 computer, a handful of games for it, and a book on learning Atari BASIC. Now as I begin learning BASIC I could really use a way to save my programs and play disk based software, so I'm in the market for a 1050 disk drive that is in good cosmetic condition and proper working order with the power supply included. I'm looking to spend around $85 shipped on the disk drive and it doesn't need to have any custom modifications like Happy or anything like that, a plain old standard slow speed drive will do just fine for my needs. I'd also be interested in purchasing a 48K memory upgrade for my Atari 400 at some point, though acquiring a 1050 disk drive and some blank 5.25" floppy disks to use with it is my first priority. Thanks for taking the time to view my ad and if you happen to have a working 1050 disk drive in nice condition that you'd like to sell then feel free to shoot me a PM about it!
  16. The system is either not detecting the Flashrom or SD card, what could be the problem?
  17. I have two cartridges as pictured below that I believe go to a personal computer from the early 80's. However, I have so far be unable to identify what computer they are for. It's possible that they go in some sort of stand alone word processing system as well. Does anybody here recognize these, or perhaps you have a good educated guess? Thanks.
  18. I've been following eBay listings for a while now and prices seem to be all over the map, so I was just wondering if you guys and gals might be able to offer me some guidance on what a reasonable price I should expect to pay for a tested and working nice condition Atari 800XL with power supply would be? For reference when I say "nice condition" I mean no yellowing of the case, all keys and rubber feet present and accounted for, and minimal scratching on the housing and chrome side keys. Not brand new or like-new, just well cared for and in good shape. I should also note that this isn't a want to buy ad, since it'll probably be some time in late summer or early fall before I'll be in the position to purchase one of these computers, I'm just trying to do a little market research ahead of time to figure out what I should expect to pay.
