  1. I've been collecting for the VCS for some time now, and during that time my collection has grown quite large. Yesterday I was looking at my boxes of games and asked myself, 'Is there really any point to collecting?' So I got a few rares from eBay, cool. Did I end world hunger? No. Why buy these games anyways? So they can sit on a shelf forever? 'cause let me tell ya, I won't be playing Eli's Ladder anytime soon.
  2. Okay so I've been having problems with Steam with installing and updating games like Left 4 Dead and Garry's Mod so I ask Steam support for help what do they tell me they tell me on how to fix the problem like three or four times and I did still doesn't work so I ask them again they say the same thing over and over again still not working anyone have this kind of problem besides me? I know I'm supposed to be asking for help from Steam but they're not much help so if anyone up here can tell me how to fix the problem I'd appreciate it and all. If anyone needs more info on what my problem is with the installing/ updating then here it is. Everytime I try updating Garry's Mod it keeps saying Queued and I try different servires and etc. but that doesn't help one bit any ideas how I can fix it? Thanks
  3. Potentially good news for 7800 fans revealed in an interview with Atari 8-bit computer programmer/hacker "Glen the 5200 man": See this post and listen to the last 5 minutes of the Antic interview for more information.
  4. Here are 10 lesser known fun games that should be in every NES game collectors library! w/ John Riggs I have to say this is one of the most fun videos I have made. John & I were tired after a day of PAX and we are just sillier and looser than normal. It made for some funny conversation and teasing! I hope you guys enjoy it! GAMES SHOWN: Cowboy Kid Kickle Cubicle Rescue: The Embassy Mission The Legend of Ghost Lion Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom Monster Party Nightshade North and South Wurm: Journey to the Center of the Earth The Krion Conquest What games should we cover in Parts 2 & 3?

I was playing Combat so when I shot player 2 I decided to take a picture of it. Epic hit!
  7. After 29 days (including waiting for parts) I finally restored (partially) my friends Atari 2600. It had been sitting in his Mom's closet for 25+ years and when I plugged it in, it worked like a charm. I placed a fresh coat of paint (trim) and restored his joystick with all new parts because the parts that were inside were very worn, especially the top of his joystick. I fixed and replaced much more (link provided). I gave his Atari 2600 a nice bubble bath w/ scrub (laughs) and a nice (small) moderate shine. The parts that can be washed that is. LMBO. Enclosed is a before (top) and after (bottom) photo. My friend died in 2007 from a chronic disease at age 38, thus last month his Mom sent me his Atari system as a gift. Enclosed is the entire project at the link below. Click on images for description. The story begins on photo #2. RIP Charley. PS All the games were his (I cleaned and shined them up/contacts), excluding Donkey Kong, which I purchased. https://flic.kr/s/aHsm6ZFZ3Q
  8. Hi guys. I'm Orionsangel. I'm a life long gamer. I grew up with Atari and have had almost every console imaginable. I hung out in Arcades in the 80's. I still play games to this day even modern games. So last year I started making bezels for retro games on Mame. My idea was to bring the arcade experience at home without owning the arcade machines. Check them out. https://www.youtube.com/orionsangel Playlist - http://bit.ly/2u1Yl42 Here are some examples.

  18. So I was watching this video and I got to thinking two things: Would it be possible to retrofit an achievement engine to an A8 emulator; What achievements could we all think of to fit around classic A8 games? So for the first point, my immediate thought was that an optional achievement "overlay" if you will, could run on top of Altirra, watching RAM for certain in-game occurrences based on what was happening. An example would be watching the screen display for certain text displayed on certain conditions, such as Great American Road Race if you get stopped by the cops, or Pole Position qualifying in first place. But more fun than that, what would we name these achievements, from a comedy perspective like in the vid above? See if you can come up with fiveish for your favourite games! I'm no stand up comic, but here are my efforts: Great American Road Race: Long long way to go - Run out of gas just after passing a pump Pole Position: Road to nowhere - Fail to qualify so that you carry on driving after passing the finish line Dropzone: Refugees schmefugees - Kill all the scientists in a level Blue Max: Bugging out - Bomb your own hangar Henry's House: My name isn't Willy - Get squashed by a boot on the first level I'm sure you guys can come up with better ones!

  20. I just found a great case for Lynx games at my local Target. Each section holds 10 to 12 games. And the case itself holds roughly 30 games, depending on the cart style (curved end vs. straight end) The case has a fairly secure lid, nothing like tupperware, but it does the job. They come in two colors, clear and pink, and two styles. The other style (not pictured) is a square case with four sections You can find them in the dollar section at Target.
  21. I have the following Atari 2600 lot up for sale. I would like to sell it as a lot if at all possible. Price is $200 shipped. Shipping includes Delivery Confirmation, but Insurance is NOT included. If you want to pay extra for insurance, I will add it. I prefer to only ship to the USA, but will ship internationally. International shipping will be more expensive. I am aiming to clear $175 on this, but I am an honest and fair person... If the shipping cost is lower than what I charge, I will refund the difference. If it is higher, I will take the hit. Consoles, controllers, and most games have been tested. They will also be cleaned, if they haven't already been, before I ship them. If a game is found to be defective, I will refund 50 cents per degree of rarity and let you keep the cart. I only accept payment in US currency via PayPal gift. 1 Atari 2600 4 switch woodgrain 1 2600 standard joystick 2 Wico Command Control joysticks--2600/7800--Only partially working; One with box. 1 Wico Black Max joystick--2600/7800 3 sets of 2600/7800 paddles--jittery. 2 2600/7800 keyboard controllers--Both work fine, but do have electrical tape on the cords because of holes in the cords.
