Hello, I just bought two retro Sega handheld consoles recently but I just realised that both of their screen are burnt as faulty. So I am look for an experienced repair for new LCD screens to replace them. I will happy to pay for LCD screens from websites like Ebay, Amazon, etc. I will pay you for your service to fix them. I will happy to drop them in Sydney metro but I don't mind to post them in only Australia as well. They are Sega Nomad Genesis and Sega Game Gear consoles. See pictures of them attached.

I just got my Model 1 VA6.x (not sure if it's 6.5 or 6.8) recapped with new capacitors from console5.com. Got them soldered by a local PC repair shop. But I'm pretty sure it's not suppose to sound like this. It's pretty loud and drowns out alot of detail in the music and the treble seems high and shrill sounding depending on the instrument playing. My original childhood VA7 however sounds great in comparison, with punchier bass and percussion. It's much more balanced sounding. And the VA7 is supposed to be the "stinker" model 1s. What's the deal? Is there another component on the board bad on the VA6.x? Something to do with the low or high pass filter? I pretty much don't know anything about electronics/circuitry. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks!

Before submitted this as multiple categories one for each system over 6 months ago. But people told me next time if it isn't like one or two months old too make a new thread instead of resurrect the old and because the separate threads were told to be combined anyway now be a good time to mention it. I have a big collection of video games. My life for basically organically collecting them and noticed selling them for money. I got a couple decisions to make about clutter. If I find controllers for cheap at a thrift store (good luck doing that now thanks to Macklemore's song), I usually pick them up. I tried to pick up a complete set to play any possible game on it. The three questions concern PlayStation Genesis and Saturn. I heard that every game on the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation 1 can be played in theory with a PlayStation DualShock 2. no I heard some people prefer to downgrade to a DualShock 1 or even a digital-only OG controller. First of all, if you're introducing it to people for the first time and get together for a LAN party, would the difference between a DualShock 2, a DualShock 1 , and a standard controller be THAT important to random strangers playing it for a few hours? second if there are games which are SIGNIFICANTLY better with a standard controller or DualShock 1,. May I know which games those are, (or, if too many to list the general categories those games fall in,) and the maximum number of DualShock ones and standard controllers I would need to accommodate the maximum players of such games. Second such question concerns the Genesis. I currently have five 6 button pad and three 3 button ones. I have enough where we can play an 8 player game that would work with either type. The question is is there a game that requires more than five 6 button pads. I know of one game wheel of Fortune Sega CD which requires three standard pads to play a 3 player game and that's the maximum. Anything that requires a three-button that's beyond 3 players? Same question for Saturn. I've heard Golden Axe The Duel is the only game that requires standard controllers, but you only need 2. I've heard certain games are better with the analog controller. All the games that I've seen that use it only use at most two analog controllers. Any game in any regional world that uses more than two? any of them worth playing and considered playable to an English speaking audience? And then we got the crazy stick about light gun standards and multi-tap standards. for multi Taps use a PS1 for PS1 games regardless of the physical console and PS2 multi-tap for PS2 games. Plus I heard there's two different sizes a PS2 multi-taps. one for old machines, one for new PS2s. And for Genesis if you have two team players that could play any 8 player game, and any four player EA 4-way play game by entering the alternate mode. Finally I assumed for light guns just need two of each flavor. For the PlayStation 2, that means Two justifiers, two Guncon 1s, and two Guncon 2s. Genesis is a little more difficult because there are three flavors. I have one Menacer. Is one all you need or are there dual Menacer games? For just a fire you need a blue player one justifier that system specific and a pink Universal phone Port second player justifier. Finally I got one American Laser Games Game Gun. Is one all I need there. Also someone has a link to games that need the original hardware, and fail the run on the upstep hardware... Like unplayable 2600 games on a 7800, unplayable Master System games out of power base converter, and an unplayable PlayStation 1 games out of PlayStation 2. I know there's lots of holes in the Xbox collection partly due to incompatible technologies partly due to companies refusing to allow backward-compatible releases. The only ones that got it right we're GameCube compatibility on Wii,( I think literally everything works except the Game Boy Advance player) and the Wii games on the Wii U, except literally for Wii games that have to use the GameCube port for dance mats like Active Life and Dance Dance Revolution- 13 replies

*SOLD* *SOLD* *SOLD* Hi everyone! This is my first post here, so I hope I’m doing this right. I have a bundle of goodies to sell. Everything is practically new except for the Ecco games. The games have some wear but still are probably better overall than most copies out there. They were the best I could find at the time, and I can send pictures if I need to. Everything else looks perfect and was bought within the last four months. I only used the HDMI switch on a 1080p TV, so I haven’t tried out the 4K and HDR functionality. 1x Analogue Mega Sg (Complete in box with all original accessories) 1x 8bitdo M30 2.4ghz Controller with Genesis Adapter 2x Retro-Bit 6 Button Controllers (Licensed by Sega) 1x Sandisk Ultra 16gb SD Card 1x 10ft Male to Female 3.5mm Audio Cable 1x 5 Port 4K 60hz HDR HDMI Switch with Remote 1x Ecco The Dolphin (Complete in box with manual) 1x Ecco: The Tides of Time (Complete in box with manual) For those that don’t know, the Mega Sg is a FPGA clone of the Sega Genesis. It’s a great way to play your Genesis games on a modern TV since it doesn’t add any input lag beyond the TV. It also has a previously unreleased game by DICE called “Ultracore” on the system. It also can play Master System games with the included cartridge adapter (still wrapped in plastic), and there are more adapters available to buy that allow you to play Game Gear, Sega My Card, SG-1000, SC-3000 games. Oh, and the system can easily be jailbroken to play games from a SD card. The system can also be customized by simulating scanlines and adjusting the sound. Since the Genesis had several models with different sound chips, it caused trouble with some games audio depending on the console model. The Mega Sg allows you to fix this by switching a setting on or off as needed. The Mega Sg is also region free and accepts cartridges from all regions without modification. There’s a couple of very good Mega Sg reviews by My Life in Gaming and Digital Foundry on YouTube if you want to know more. It also doesn’t have any sound lag like the Genesis Mini. I paid around $350 for everything listed here including tax and shipping. The Mega Sg alone was $190 plus $17 shipping. I’m asking $225 for everything including shipping within the lower 48 USA. If you are worried about me being new on here, I can point you to an amateur astronomy website where I have a lot of feedback from buying and selling things. I am working on another design of a controller adapter for the 5200. It shall be used together with a 6 button Megadrive/Genesis controller to provide full keypad functionality. Ready: - Schematics; - Preliminary PCB; Work in progress: - Code (90%). Todo: - Testing; - Documentation. -
I’m having a weird issue with my Genesis model 2 where only controller port two doesn’t work. On one game specifically “Thomas the tank engine and friends”,I don’t get any controller action from either side. I’ve desoldered and soldered them back on a couple times but to no avail. Here are some picks hopefully someone can help me bring this puppy back to life.

When I was recording these games I was surprised by how well some translated to an 8 bit system such as Mortal Kombat & Road Rash, while others probably should not have been released like Altered Beast. All CDs are fine. Floppy disks however, ~95% read OK w/no errors. However I cannot guarantee any of the data on the floppy disks due to age. Game cartridges likewise are recently tested. They work fine. I originally bought these games for research purposes, including making scans. Staples were removed from the manuals in order to get the highest quality scans. Sold "as-is." Please keep this in mind when considering a purchase. I prefer to sell the collection complete, for USD$350 -> USD$300 (includes shipping within USA). Please inquire about international shipping. So I've got 32X once again and my life is filled with the joy of 32-bit power and Virtua things, but I can't help but wonder if I could get a slightly better picture out of my 32X with a nice thickly shielded composite cable instead of the el-cheapo generic Genesis Model 2 composite cable I have been using. I definitely don't want to drop a ton of money on a SCART cable and RGB converter box, I'm perfectly happy with using composite on my 480i CRT TV (though my TV does have component inputs too so that would be an option if there was an affordable component cable out there that does 480i), I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good Genesis 2 / 32X composite cable that's a bit more heavy duty and more nicely shielded than the generic ones you find on eBay? I had looked at Retro-Bit's Genesis 2 / 32X composite cable on Amazon but a couple reviewers mentioned that it doesn't actually output proper stereo sound, so I thought I'd ask around here for other recommendations. Any advice would be be appreciated. -
I ended up getting two copies of Tanglewood, one that I opened and have enjoyed playing over the last few months and one that I left sealed, and I've decided to put the sealed copy up for sale or trade. SOLD!

I found out that a Japanese Mega CD RAM Cart will work in a US Genesis (https://bit.ly/2UbVLlN) so I ordered one from eBay much cheaper than an original US or a Stone Age Gamer version. I did have a few questions if anyone may have a similar setup 1. I have a 32x plugged into my Genesis. Does the 32x have the same plastic notches in it the prevent loading a foreign cart like the Genesis does? 2. Can the Mega CD RAM cart be de-cased and either used without the plastic casing or placed into an empty Genesis case? 3. I know a Game Genie can be used to make the Japanese cartridge fit but I don't know if a code needs to be used to make it work. I don't think it does but just asking. If I get this working as I think it should, the savings for this Japanese RAM cartridge are quite considerable.
