  4. I have a lot of games I'm trying to get rid of so I wanted to offer them here before they end up at the game store. I may entertain cash offers but mostly looking for trades at the moment. Maybe closer to the end of the week for cash. I have my wishlist along with the other stuff in the attached link. Feel free to offer any items that aren't specifically on my wishlist, especially NES/Famicom, SNES, and PS1 games and/or accessories. Action/platformers, puzzle, and horror games are good for me. Send me a PM with any offers, and please get your offers in by Friday around 12:00 noon EST. Edit: Continental US only please https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/134tHlI07W4mDp5KlxVfEpaE6t_-P4xLgUSyQTTnA5sc/edit?usp=sharing
  5. Hi, I loved Battlezone when it came out in the 1980s. I just discovered yesterday I could play it online via my PC. I have to use the arrow keys and space bar to aim and fire. I'm looking for a joystick with a usb that I could use. Any suggestions on joystick/controller that will work, and where to buy it? Thanks, Chris P.S. I can't wait to get higher scores using a joystick.
  6. I hung out with Al Lowe (Leisure Suit Larry, Freddy Pharkas, King's Quest, Police Quest, etc) the other day and it turns out he may have some of the only original copies of game source code for a lot of the those classic games. Now that he's in his 70s, he's selling a lot of his collection on Ebay and gave me a preview of what's to come. A starting bid of $100 for the original Leisure Suit Larry source?>! Hell yes!! LOL https://www.ebay.com/usr/al_lowe
  7. Hello all. I've been hunting for these CIB for-bloody-ever so I thought I'd check here. I do not care about what region it is! So, what I'm looking for is a big box version of both. I do want a disc and or a jewel case+insert+disc too, but I really want the big box release. At this point I'll take almost anything I can get. Especially with Star Command: Gold since this seems to be lost to history as there is no information on it I can find. Even wikipedia has nothing about it. I wonder if the Gold version was a disc only pack-in for something and that's why I've never seen any CIB materials for it. I'm half tempted to locate any contact from either Metropolis Digital or GT Interactive to see if they can help me out with some info on the Gold release. This is my second favorite RTS of all time behind StarCraft so I'd love to be able to get all releases. I already have my original big box Star Command: Revolution and another big box of it new/sealed. I've attached the only decent pictures I could find of these for reference.
  8. The entirety of the PC/GEOS operating system, it’s SDK and apparently, ALL of it’s software, have been posted up on Git for community availability and further development ! It appears to be at least PC/GEOS 2.0 and possibly newer. Many files are dated 1991 and many have additional revision dates of “97/04/04 NewDeal” which is at least version 2.5 I believe. Most of the code is written in C and an updated (??) Watcom C compiler is also available from the author on his Git. It was common to write GEOS software with “ObjectASM” in x86 assembly. Their object technology was a key advantage they had over other OSes at the time. You can find the Git repo here: https://github.com/bluewaysw/pcgeos Here is the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GEOS_%2816-bit_operating_system%29 …and here is a link to a PDF of the “PC/GEOS System Software Overview”. This document gives an overview of the system architecture and other details for developers. It is specific to ver. 1.0 of PC/GEOS. https://www.lyonlabs.org/commodore/onrequest/geos/PC-GEOS-System-Software-Overview.pdf j

  10. Folks, To save me some typing, the following are cut 'n' pastes of several messages that I posted on another message forum: -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Does anyone have any idea as to what "streaky" does in the PC CD DOS version of Tempest 2000? I've NEVER found or read about ANY cheats whatsoever for the DOS version of T2K throughout all of these years, but was recently browsing the executable with my trusty hex-editor (as I've done numerous times over the past two decades). In the executable is the text line "FLOSSIE WANTS TO CHEAT", and immediately following that, the following hex: 1F 14 13 12 1E 25 15 I just thought to myself, hmmm... That SURE looks like keyboard scan codes (and only JUST NOW thought that they looked like keyboard scan codes... RE: "as I've done numerous times over the past two decades" above - with age comes knowledge LOL!). Hehe, and YES indeedy, they are KB scan codes, and they spell "streaky" LOL (see linked pics)! I fired up the game, and then during gameplay typed "streaky" in. The web flashes colorfully (like when you obtain an extra life), and the female voice sound effect says "Yes!", but nothing appears to have changed (?). It MAY be just me, but gameplay seemed a bit easier after doing this, but I'm not sure (?). BTW, you can enter the "streaky" code several times, with the same results (the web flashes colorfully). Anyhow, has ANYONE ever heard of this before (and have any idea as to what it does), or have I found a totally hidden easter egg/cheat in this game that NO ONE has ever came across since the game's release in 1995 LOL (wouldn't be the first time)? Pic of DOS version TEMPEST.EXE in a hex-editor -> http://www.vogons.org/download/file.php?id=16691 Pic of Keyboard scan codes -> http://www.vogons.org/download/file.php?id=16692 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- OK, I JUST figured it out! After starting a game, enter "streaky". THEN press F11 to enable the bonus level warp, or F12 to skip to the next level. Hehe, the way I figured this out... F11 and F12 are cheats for the MACINTOSH version of the game (and are NOT normal keys for the PC DOS version of the game)! Hehe, I'm thinking "YES" -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- P.S. I HAVE just now confirmed that the"streaky" cheat code ALSO works for the Interplay Windows 95 version of the game as well Note that you will need to type in the cheat code fairly quickly in order for the game to recognize it. As in the DOS version, the web flashes colorfully, and you'll hear the female voice sound effect "Yes!" if you have successfully entered the code (and the game recognizes it). P.P.S. The keyboard scan codes for the "streaky" code were sitting all by their lonesome in the Windows version executable <GRIN> (see linked pic). Pic of Windows version TEMPEST.EXE in a hex-editor -> http://www.vogons.org/download/file.php?id=16719 -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ENJOY!
  11. Anyone like the classic first person shooter, Doom? I remember my brother and I getting the first episode on diskette when the game first hit shelves years ago. Shooting demons, imps, sergeants, etc. with a shotgun, pistol, Gatling gun and so on - that was quite a thrill. I managed to get a copy of the PS1 edition of Doom for cheap at a Gamestop; the PS1 port has Doom 1 and 2 as well as extra levels. It is quite a rush to play this and get surprised by the imps chucking fireballs at you; those guys sneak up on you.
  12. Wasn't sure where to put this since it isn't Tandy-specific. That and it's retro, yet new at the same time: In other news, here's a working link for Windows port of the original 1982 version: https://www.blitter.com/~nebulous/otherworld/DoD.zip
  13. HI, Selling two pc game for $20 for the Windows XP, Me, 2000, 98. Battlefield 1942 game of the year, PC, VG, CIB. Battlefield 1942 Secret weapons of WW II, PC, VG, CIB. Bobby
  14. This is a video I made about Into the Breach because I've been loving the game for the last few weeks. Hopefully you guys can discuss the game alongside me and give feedback on the video!
  15. I have an Atari 7800 that I've modded for composite video. Now I'd like to start learning how to write software for it. I'm already familiar with 6502 assembly (from the NES), but will need to do a deep dive into the MARIA chip (so far, how you access this seems crazy! ) and any other idiosyncrasies of the 7800. My question is, after writing and compiling on the PC (Windows), is there a way to run/test what I write on the real hardware? Or am I limited to running/testing in emulators on the PC? Something like a cartridge with a serial cable connected to the PC where I could compile on the PC and update the cartridge via the serial cable would be wonderful... does anything like that exist? I just had a vision of a Raspberry Pi Zero W in a 2600/7800 cartridge case connected to the PC over WiFi... LOL!
  16. I'm working on an Atari 2600 music program, and I'm trying to figure out a good way to get music data from the Atari 2600 to the PC. The best idea I've had so far is to encode the data into audio, and to have the PC record the audio and decode the data. Anyone have any thoughts on this? It seems like it would be pretty easy to modulate the 2600 audio signal into a bitstream that would be reasonably easy to decode on the other end. Transfer rate would probably need to be slow, but the total transfer would probably only be 500-1000 bytes. Other ideas I've had are to display the data as hex and have the user transcribe it. I currently have this implemented, but it's a bit tedious and error prone to transcribe hundreds of bytes of data. Another idea is to use the Atarivox to store data, and then use the 2600daptor to transfer the data to the PC. This seems like a good method, but then the user has to buy $75 worth of extra gear. With the audio method, no extra equipment is needed.
  17. Hello, gamers. I was digging through some old stuff recently and unearthed the containment box for the expansion of the PC game Diablo II. I have the outer box, the inner containment box, the manual for the expansion, the manual for the original game and some other paperwork. I have no idea what happened to the discs. Not wanting to throw out some cool looking stuff, I thought maybe someone on here would be interested. All I ask is that you pay the shipping, which should be media mail rate since I can count the manuals as books. Here are some photo links: Cover Interior cover Back cover Manuals Other Stuff Here's my feedback thread.
  18. https://www.fangamer.com/products/undertale-ps4-vita I'm unsure of how many people here played Undertale, but this is a pretty big announcement if you ask me. I greatly enjoyed the game for the music and characters. Very nice game overall, and I'd say best played if done so unspoiled. I'm not surprised by a physical release for PC, but I'm pretty interested in how they handle some of the elements for the PS4/Vita... Considering some of the things that happen in-game. Any other fans of the game on the site?

  20. I'm selling off a moderately sized lot of PC games that I came across when cleaing out my closet for a move. A friend pointed me to this forum for exposure. I hope someone here might be interested in them and give some feedback on the value of the lot. I priced it at $10 given there are nearly 30 games, but that might be too high. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 151325311962 Updated link to relisted item
  21. Over in the Doom community, an effort is underway to port Jaguar Doom to the PC platform. Because, why not? https://www.doomworld.com/vb/source-ports/91624-calico/ Screenshots: However, some rendering issues have popped up as of late. Stuff like this. If you are interested and want to see what is done so far, or are willing to help in any way, here is the Github repository: https://github.com/team-eternity/calico-doom

  23. The new Digital Eclipse project was just revealed. Some classic NES games will finally be rereleased in a bundle. Sadly, no word on a retail release like Mega Man Legacy Collection had (Or of a 3DS or Switch release of these Nintendo classics; Would be nice to see these at least hit the Virtual Console as standalone downloads if they won't bring the compilation to Nintendo systems, but not holding my breath). Still, it's nice to see Digital Eclipse and Code Mystics/AtGames keeping the classic gaming compilation genre alive.
  24. Does anybody else here collect IndieBox? For those that don't know, they publish custom made boxed versions that are packed full of little goodies like color manuals, soundtracks, stickers, physical versions of the game, plushies, action figures and more. Every game is also 70% or higher on Metacritic and runs on Windows, OS X & Linux. Pretty impressive stuff! This is my list of their Top 10 releases. * This was not a paid sponsored video and the opinions are my own, if curious.
  25. If anyone has an old manual for the PC app CADKEY version 3.0 (or even 2.x) and you decide to scan it into a PDF, please let me know! Thanks in advance: https://archive.org/stream/PC-Mag-1988-08-01#page/n145/mode/2up https://archive.org/stream/PC-Mag-1988-08-01#page/n133/mode/2up
