Someone in the TRS-80 MC-10 camp found a bunch of new games for that computer, and as it turns out the developer Inufuto has made available versions for a long range of mainly Japanese home computers, but also some others: MSX, NEC PC-6001, PC-8001, PC-8801, PC-8001mkII, PC-8001mkIISR, Sharp MZ-80B, MZ-2200, MZ-1500, Sharp X1, Toshiba Pasopia 7, Fujitsu FM-7, Hitachi MB-6890, MB-6885 Jr, National/Panasonic JR-100, JR-200, Bandai RX-78, Sony SMC-777, Casio PV-1000, PV-2000, Casio FP-1100, Mitsubishi MULTI8, Sega SC-3000, Sega Master System, Sord M5, ZX Spectrum, Apple II, C64 Japan, VIC-1001, TRS-80 MC-10, TRS-80 CoCo Many of these models may be almost unheard of in the west, but at least some like MSX, Apple II, C64 (though Japanese version), VIC-20 (VIC-1001), the MC-10 and CoCo should be accessible natively. Fatal Fury Special is another win for Game Gear. Much like Samurai Shodown I am very happy I got this. It is a faster paced experience than SS and really makes me think Street Fighter could have been done on the system and been just fine. The presentation is very similar to SS. Scrolling backgrounds, animation, very colorful. Round 1 is daytime, then the next is turns to night. Detailed characters, I always play as Terry but can tell who everyone is. There is no side step in this. That eliminates some of the strategy I liked on the Neo Geo. It makes it have more of a street fighter feel to it. Just straight forward fighting and combos. There is a survival mode to play, nice option, but I would have rather had sidestep than the extra mode in this. The fightings solid, everything connects and feels the part. Moves and combos feel natural. Except Ryo. He has an unbreakable life draining combo that's infuriating. Everyone up to him wasn't bad. I got though. And this game was a definite win. So fast paced twitch fighting it's Fatal Fury, slower strategy fighting SS for me. Both are gonna stay close to the Game Gear for awhile.

My apologies if this has been answered before, but I've searched the forum and I haven't found the exact answer I'm looking for. I've seen and read online that some gamers are using the original Sega Genesis 6-button controllers with their Atari 7800 systems. My two questions are: 1. Will the original Sega Genesis 6-button controllers work with the light sixer version of the 2600, and if so, will they work with all games from all manufacturers? 2. Will the newer Sega Genesis 6-button controllers made by Retro-Bit work with the light sixer version of the 2600, and if so, will they work with all games from all manufacturers? Any other info or experience you may have on this topic would be welcome. Many thanks in advance for your time and expertise!

Hi! I was told I should post this here in the Atari 5200 forum along with the Marketplace forum. I made a batch of 30 Masterplay Interface clones for fun and practice with KiCad. They are based on the schematic at Dr. Scott M. Baker's website. I won't be making any more. They let you use Genesis controllers to play most of the Atari 5200 library. My own schematic and BOM are posted below. I'm selling them for $60 + shipping. This includes the Masterplay Interface clone, the custom keypad, and the extension cable for the clone. Satisfaction guaranteed. Returns accepted within 14 days. A few notes: - The acrylic top of the clone can be removed with 1.5mm hex bit to access jumpers. I borrowed an Atari/Sega adapter for my Intellivision 2 and Telegames Super Video Arcade consoles from a friend last month, and got some interestimg results. This particular adapter was made by Grips03 back about 3 1/2 years ago, and it really is opening opening up new possibilities for controlling games on the Intellivision- with even some very cool mice and trackballs. Still cleaning out some old stuff... Bought at a yard sale some many years back - looks to be in nice cosmetic condition. Just the lightest of scuffs on the screen - not visible when playing. Buttons and d-pad are responsive and unit is overall clean. Three games included - Sonic Drift, Sonic 2 and Asterix with 2 GameGear plastic cases. Unfortunately I couldn't find the power adaptor - had to put in 6 batteries to power this up to check it (batteries not included). Looking for US$40 + $15 shipping anywhere in the lower USA. Hi all.. new here! Thanks for having me! I am wondering which is the best budget handheld? Ideally I would love a Steam Deck, but I can't justify that much on a handheld atm. So based on my own research it feels like its between : Anbernic 353M Anbernic RG505 Retroid Pocket 3+ Ayn Odin Pro (what is the difference between base and pro?) I love the look of the 353M, love the dpad swap on the odin, but I just wish the 353M had more RAM and was capable of PS2/GC. Can't figure out why its almost the same price as the much superior (on paper) RG505 either. Anyone know why? Just wish the 505 had the look of the 353. It looks boring IMO and the colour choices are crap. So I think the 353M is only on my list because of high ratings and it looks great, but also the linux option was attractive. But I suppose I need to look at one of the other 3 if I want PS2/GC games but came here for advice. Or maybe you know of a better handheld for that price range? My budget is upto £200/$250 (GBP/USD) require ps2/gc emulation screen larger than 4" would be nice Suggestions welcome! Cheers!

So I recently got interested in sound ICs, as a consequence of checking some parts bought via Ebay were genuine. I found about about VGM file format, which allows tunes to be played by various sound chips. So I bought a cheap non working Sega Megadrive for the purpose of harvesting the YM2612 sound chip. The intention was to connect it up to an Arduino (there are many projects on the web) in order to play Megadrive tunes from VGMs. Before I removed the sound IC, I was interested to see if I could figure out what was wrong with the unit. The reset switch was faulty, but that was a simple fix. Using a scope to look at signals around the MC68000, HALT and RESET have activity when the reset button is pressed. There is good 5V power and a good clock. Looking at some of the other pins I see 4 low going pulses of LDS and UDS, then no more activity. My guess is that these pulses are for the initial stack pointer and instruction counter (both 32 bit) which is 4 16-bit reads. I am a little uncertain, but perhaps the CPU halts if these are invalid in some way? I have attached some waveforms. it was done a few weeks ago, so please excuse my faulty memory! I think that notRESET is the yellow trace; notHALT is the cyan trace; and two of the top four traces are UDS and LDS. So the CPU does appear to halt. Here I admit that there was no cartridge inserted. I may have been thinking that there was some boot ROM, as I read something about TMSS (sp?). Nevertheless when I inserted a cartridge nothing changed. I would appreciate any advice as to what to try next or any pointers to sites which have detailed technical details about the boot process. For example where are the initial stack pointer and instruction counter read from: built in ROM; or the cartridge?

Hi everyone, its finally happened, I'm at the point where I'm ready to start unloading my collection. I wanted to give you guys the good folks at AA first crack at anything you might be interested in. This list contains something like 350 games, so unfortunately I'm going to start if off as a list with no pictures. These games are in various states of conditions, but assume the vast majority of them are working, have been played by me personally, and are usually in PAL UK version where applicable. Some of the older stuff like the master system might be Japanese or US copies, but generally is not an issue. If I own it, I can play it on a European console, as that's my near exclusive limit (outside a neo geo AES - not being sold!). Some are boxed, some are not. Some have instructions, some do not. They are all unsealed, there is no Wata level quality here. I'm a gamer, and these games were played. About 6 months ago I started this topic: This was me processing letting go of significant number of games. Soon after I put my house on the market, and bought my next one up. In the process this took a backseat - and initially I had boxed about 100 games I was "ready" in mind to sell. This has now increased to something like 350, including PC games (hence why I'm going to start with lists, then will do pictures as requested). A few other things have happened, the work on the house has cost us considerably more than we planned, and the profit from the first house has already emptied to 0. We also had our car break down on moving day, and this caused issues with our buyers which cost us more money. The car has now fully broken down and we have had to borrow money to buy a 'new' (and by new, I mean 15 year old!) car. This is a bit of a boo-hoo story I know, but it leads to me realising that I have boxes full of cash I just need to get rid of, and I might be able to pay off the debt at least. I would also like to make sure I can manufacture some more Odyssey 1 multicards which I was planning on doing this month, but due to car - needs potentially delaying. Anyway... onto the list. I think there will be another cull at some point, but this is "second wave" culling and includes games like Zelda that I thought I would never get rid of. I've decided to get rid of my entire collection of N64 games, but don't get excited most are unboxed and all are relatively common-uncommon. In this example we're changing out a whole palette on a certain line. This is good if you want a status bar with a different set of palettes or a water effect like in Sonic 3. So im a huge fan of bootleg/obscure hardware, and two of my favorites pieces of my collection are these old 1993 Megadrive clones i bought. The first one is a Nasa New 16 bit, the clone lacks a lot of features like the headphone jack and the MegaCD port, and is incompatible with the 32x and some multitaps, but the console has a great built quality. The second one is the infamous Kw-501, which i was kinda disappointed that the built quality was very bad, but the console has most of the features the Nasa lacks. Any of you guys owns an old Megadrive clone or similar?

Looking for modern console carry case options. [2600, 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, SEGA Master System 1/2 etc...] Also, console carry cases for the mini systems. I have hard shell console cases Genesis, Dreamcast, Jaguar and a couple soft shell cases. But looking at the absurd prices that some of the cases are going for (and don't get me started on shipping costs). I'm looking for more modern less expensive options like Naki G-pak cases. The older larger systems like the Colecovision are hard to find carry case options that fit the system & accessories. What do you use? Thanks

In 1976, Sega released the game "Heavyweight Champ". It is called the first fighting game in gaming history. Like Computer Space, this historical game has not been dumped to MAME yet. The issue is that there is a lack of chips. Can we get this game archived and playable for everyone? If there is still some of these machines left.

Have a multicard for the Magnavox Odyssey from @Boojakascha and @Mikebloke and got a handle for it from Laserbear. Took measurements and with the new handle, it's about 11cm x 9cm, and about 1.5 cm thick. I'm looking for a hard case or possibly a shock box to store it, ideally with a little bit of extra space, so I can line the case with antistatic plastic to protect the PCB Does anyone have any ideas on what the most similar cartridge would be in terms of size? (NES, SNES, Megadrive...?) Or if repurposing one of those wouldn't work, does anyone make custom cases that would fit it? Thanks!
