  1. I recently picked up a large collection that belonged to a subject who passed away. While going through the games i located 4 carts that were a little different at the bottom of the box. Iv been told not to test them and to possibly try to dump them. I have no clue how to do that though. Any thoughts on value, history, or authenticity? I'm currently working a night shift and cant get pictures of the boards until in the morning.
  2. ======================== EDIT: These items are no longer available. ======================== I recently came into possession of a decent sized collection of Atari gear. I grew up playing games and computing on similar Atari hardware so I'm somewhat familiar with the gear. Despite most of the gear being in excellent condition, it was destined for a trip to the electronics recycler. Recognizing the historical significance of the gear, I snatched it up to ensure that it can live on. I'm looking to sell and redistribute the gear to the community of enthusiasts here to ensure that it can be preserved and enjoyed for many more years. I spent many hours cataloging, testing hardware, photographing everything, and uploading photos. I've done my best to test and verify the functionality of most of the gear in this listing. You can see a list of everything that I have here: https://bit.ly/2qeRtAA Each item includes link to an imgur.com posting with photos. Most items also include a note about the condition of the item. Sorry, it's not the most convenient way to view everything in one shot but it works for me. I didn't include prices on my spreadsheet as I don't really have the time to determine the value of each item. In many ways, the value is really determined by the community here anyway. I would simply ask, if you would like to make an offer for anything on the list, make it a reasonable offer. Also, keep in mind there are shipping costs. Some of the larger items may incur significant shipping costs. I can certainly offer local pickup for anyone in my area. I'm located in south central Pennsylvania (York, PA area). https://goo.gl/maps/bWMy8WTxebmbAu54A Contact me via email or PM if you're interested.
  3. Hello! I just bought an Atari 2600 Jr. I usually don't watch TV and I don't have channels on it ( I usually use a Chromecast). Now, the Atari works, the light is turning on but I don't have any channels. What can I do? I tried to search for channels but of course, it won't work because I don't have any cable.
  4. Open to reasonable offers on 3 complete in box Atari 2600 games. All are in fantastic condition. Happy to provide more pictures upon request. Located in Australia. Thanks!
  5. I put hundreds on roms on my Atari Flashback 9 and all games work except for 2. Draconian is one of them. The other is "Super Cobra the arcade game" which is a homebrew port to the 2600. Does anyone know why these games don't work on the flashback 9? All the other homebrew games work. I also tried deleting spaces in the names to get some roms to work. But those I mentioned are the only 2 that don't.
  6. Hello, I found this light sixer with this serial number. Can anyone tell me if is it an original serial number? Thanks

  9. Hey all, I am new to this retro collecting thing and recently received this joystick in an Atari 2600 lot I bought. From what I've been able to find, this seems to be a VIC-20 joystick, which apparently didn't sell too many before being discontinued due to a lawsuit from Atari. I'm looking for more information on this from people who are more familiar with the subject. Anyone here have any ideas on how rare it is? Is this something people are looking for? I noticed the joystick doesn't have much movement.. could it be locked up? Is it something I should open up and take a look at? The story itself seems really interesting, so I was looking for some more info on it. Any conversation on it would be great!

  13. All, I am glad to let you know that issue #5 will be sent to the printers tomorrow. This will be both the German AND English magazines as we have been able to create a simultaneous release this time. If you haven't ordered before, you can contact Markus at 8bit<at>proc-atari<dot>de and he will let you know the full costs together with postage for your country. He also offers back issues if you want to catch up with issues #1 to #4. This is also a good way of minimising the postage costs. Please note that this is a not-for-profit magazine and so your support is appreciated. It is currently making a loss and so it would be great if you could support the magazine through purchasing some of the software / music that it has to offer. If anyone wants to advertise within the magazine, please contact the above address and Markus will let you know the costs. And thank you all for your support. It may be a cheesy line, but we couldn't do this without you. Steve
  14. So just got my Arcadia supercharger in the mail but even after extensive cleaning of the pins it still just starts black and flashes yellow. I have no idea what to do. Im afraid there's a blown capacitor or something inside it. What say you? Any ideas? BTW before I forget Im using an Atari Jr so its not a 7800 issue.
  15. Is it possible to hook up an atari 2600 to a Mac computer without modifications? If not, what mods or alternatives can I make to play my atari on my Mac without using an emulator?
  16. I recently found a cartdridge containg 32 games, Ive tried to find more information about it but i cant seem to find anything about it. So id like to ask you if you happen to know more about it. The game says made in taiwan on the back, and thats all information i found. I do believe that its from the same producer that made the 160 in 1 game.
  17. Hi, One of my classmate's father is deciding to give me an Atari 2600. I am new to Atari and was only exposed to Pentium Era PCs. Anybody what should I do with it and what programs should I use it with? Thanks.

  19. Well, over the next couple of months I'm going to do some spring cleaning, as it were. (this will make my better half so happy I may have to tie her down!) I've got doubles of almost everything I have and sometimes in triplicate. Can't see any reason to leave some of this stuff stored away in a closet when someone might be able to get some mileage out of it. On top of that, I'm in my 50's now and I honestly don't have as much time to do what I want to any more (isn't that a sad thing!). Anyway, here is a 4 meg, TOS 2.06, 40 (approx) meg hard drive Mega STe for sale. It's got a few cosmetic blemishes, some slight yellowing, and the floppy drive gives the usual "data on floppy drive a may be damaged" error. I'd always meant to work on this one and bring it all the way back up to par but never got around to it. An Atari mouse, Mega STe keyboard, and power cord are all included. It does not include the SC1224 monitor in the pictures/video. First reasonable offer gets it - PM the offers to me please. Buyer pays S&H. Paypal would be the preferred form of payment. I'd rather sell it to someone here rather than fool with Ebay, if at all possible. Sold "as is". Short, horrible video of it booting up is here:
  20. Here's a list of my current 8-bit collection, starting with the working units! One working 400. One working 800. One working 600xl. Just put together a working 800XL out of two junkers. One working 1200XL. And one working XEGS. Just enough 'safe' power supplys to go around for the XL's and the XEGS. Along with these, I have a couple 1050 disk drives, an 810 drive, and some other pieces parts floating around that I need to gather up again. I also have parts 400, another 800 that MIGHT move up to working status if I can get a keyboard, and another 1200XL that is in beautiful shape, but the keyboard currently does not work at all, not even the option buttons. Might have to try and take that keyboard apart like I did my first 1200XL and clean all the contacts. A very TEDIOUS process! Oh, I also have ingots... three or four so far.... Bleah...

  23. I've always wondered what people think are the most epic game consoles that didn't shine as much or were too underrated. Not obvious choices like theNES or atar 2600 etc. My favorite has got to be the Vectrex so awesome
