  1. Just I've listed my first auction in eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251530697357 It's a uncommon R320 Cartridge 32 in 1 in very good state, connector is clean. Most of the games contained are interesting hacked versions of classic Atari games. Just as a sample, the Donkey Kong game in this cartridge has Donkey Kong replaced with a kind of big smiling bunny More info http://atariage.com/forums/topic/42602-anyone-read-chinese-check-out-this-multicart-i-just-got
  2. I was wondering if anyone knows what is wrong when I tried to reset my atari 2600 with the reset switch on my Atari 2600 Jr it doesn't work but when I open up the console and jump the corresponding pin on the 6532 RIOT Chip I am able to reset and do the game select functions but If I plug in the ribbon cable into the motherboard that goes to the reset and game select buttons It doesn't do anything. I tried bridging it with wire but not effect the only thing It does when I do that it just stays in a constant reset loop like what would happen if you just held down the reset button. Any suggestions or idea would be much appreciated Thanks
  3. I always wanted to ask: why were there such great games (original and ports) for Commodore 64 that never made it to Atari XL/XE series? Was the reason only hardware issues? What are the key factors that determined this situation? Forgive my ignorance, - Y -

  7. For quite a while now, I have been looking for a ROM of the ATASCII Animation program that was for the Atari 800, "Atari Toons". I used every search engine I know of, trying to find a ROM of it, and I have also been to a ton of ROM sites as well, but I can't seem to get ahold of one. I also can't find any physical copies of it on eBay or Amazon. Can someone help me out?
  8. Hello, Following on from my previous post where I purchased a CX24 joystick which a few of you said was uncomfortable and recommended a few different types. I was just wondering if any of you have had any experience with the Suncom slik stick? Is it comfortable to use and responsive? And sturdy?
  9. Hey everyone, Recently came into possession of the a one of a kind item, the original art for Paperboy on the Atari Lynx that used to hang in the old Atari office. Just got it re-framed with new acid free matting and UV glass. I've already had a couple of offers on this, and wanted to sanity check pricing on such a piece.

  12. so my Atari 2600 4 switch woody's left joysick up stopped working I tried multiple joysticks and the up direction doesn't work anymore. I have the pictures of the board what should I do? Now that I have the board out what would you do? I can solder but I don't know where to start. Also should I clean the board and how should I clean it up?
  13. Hey everyone. Had a quick question for those of you familiar with Hardware because I really am not. i have a video issue with only certain homebrews and hacks. Original release 2600 games play fine, all 85 or so i own. It doesn't happen every time with the effected games, and when it does happen usually taking the game out and reinserting it once or up to 3 times will make the issue go away. could this be a power issue? Capacitors or something inside the system failing? Or simply just RF interference of some kind? I'm using a light sixer on a CRT through RF. I'll post a picture of one of the affected games and then a couple of pictures of regular games playing fine. thanks alot everyone.
  14. Hi. I recently bought an Atari Jaguar of eBay. It is PAL. It seems to power on and shows a green light. But when I hook it up to the TV, I see a distorted image (what you see when you don’t insert an Atari 2600 cartridge properly) I’ve been told by someone that the console is working as it should and the image I see is caused by the PAL system being used in an NTSC country. What do you think? By the way, I am using the AV signal. Is there something I need to buy to get it working? Thank you!
  15. I have decided to make a rom hack instead of coding from scratch (since I have the programming talents of a peasant) It's a "Sonic-Themed" version of Bentley's Crystal Quest with revamped graphics & levels. Is there a way to insert new music to the game, let alone change POKEY sounds back to the crisp TIA? EDIT: Nevermind, rom itself got corrupted it wouldn't read with the editor...
  16. Hi all, I don't know whether this is oke to ask. But after (very) long thinking, I've decided to sell my Atari Falcon.. I haven't been using it enough to keep it really.. It looks and feels like new, is complete with the internal metal shield and speaker, the original 84 MB Connor harddrive is in the (bit noisy though) and a spare harddrive, 14 MB ram, software, switcher to connect the Falcon to the old ST displays, etc. I included a bunch of pictures of it working, and the whole package.. For some strange reason, some of the pictures are sideways and can always be reshot... Oh, it hasn't been recapped yet... I know (from the forum) that most people prefer it this way. The drawing tablet will go to Portugal, so is not included... Asking price: 1300 euros, or US$1450 (that should, according to my local exchange rate be just about equal). Shipping costs are separate extra. Of course depending on where it needs to be sent to... Of course it will be send with insurance and as properly packaged as I can manage If you have questions: don't hesitate to ask! I speak English and Dutch, I read and understand German as well, and a bit of Spanish and French... Bas.

  20. [edited: link to PDF added] Hot news: the book Atari 2600 Programming for Newbies - Revised Edition by Andrew Davie is now available on Lulu.com for only $4.69. Order your copy here: http://www.lulu.com/shop/andrew-davie/atari-2600-programming-for-newbies-revised-edition/paperback/product-23644281.html Basically this book is the printed version of the Atari 2600 programming tutorials by Andrew Davie that he originally posted on these forums between 2003 and 2004 (and one extra session posted in 2012). Editing and formatting was done by yours truly. Note that in 2011 someone already bundled these tutorials into a book and published it on Lulu.com, but IMO there are a lot of issues with that version (e.g. no page numbers, missing session no. 25, images cut off on the end of the page, outlining issues, code samples hard to read because of wrapping). That's why I decided to call my version the "Revised Edition" :-) I formatted all code samples to make them readable in print-format, fixed a few spelling errors and also did some editing where the original text was clearly assuming the reader is reading the text online. Note that I'm not making a single dollar-cent on this; you only pay for the printing of the booklet. The consequence is that Andrew Davie is also not making any money from this, but knowing that in 2011 he was OK with the other published book on Lulu.com, I hope he's also OK with this new "Revised Edition". The binding and printing of this book is really nice. The pages are black & white, but the cover is full color (see attached images). I also added Andrew's avatar on the back of the book :-) And Lulu.com regularly has these promotions where they offer free shipping, making this a real bargain! Here is a link to the PDF for your convenience: Atari_2600_Programming_for_Newbies_Revised_Edition.pdf Cheers, Dion
  21. Here's a machine I've been curious about but have never seen often enough in the wild: the Atari ST. Unlike the Amiga, which I seriously desired as a kid (and I have two models now: a 500 and a 4000!), the Atari ST tickled my curiosity but wasn't one of those "Oooh, I've gotta have it right now!" type of desires. Nowadays, though, I thought it would be pretty neat to check out the actual Atari ST hardware and see what it's all about! I do have some experience using Atari TOS thanks to Hatari, and I have sampled some games and demos on the platform. It's enough to wet my beak and get me interested in wanting to maybe add one to my collection! My problem, however, is that, like other retro computers of the time, the prices for Atari STs (and even the STE) have shot through the roof to ridiculous, exonerate prices on eBay and even Amibay. To make matters worse, most auctions and sales that I see are all in Europe (and I'm in the USA), which would mean that shipping would be absolute murder, and I'd also have to then spend money on things like step-down transformers and plug adapters. So my question is this: what's a fair going price for an Atari ST? I'd prefer an STE model; it can have 1MB RAM minimum and that's fine. Hell, it doesn't even need to come with cables; since the PSU is internal on STE models and is a standard 3-prong PC lead, I can supply one. I just need a mouse and I'm good. Send some ideas my way and I'll work from there!
  22. So, I have a bunch of Atari stuff for sale. I'm not sure as to what to price it (I'm not an Atari guy, I'm a Nintendo guy), and I'd like it to go to a Atari collector or someone who will put it to use/appreciate it. I'm not looking to make a killing. I just want a fair/going price for the stuff. It all works. The list consists of: Atari 520ST - Good shape - powers on/runs Atari 1040ST - Good shape - powers on/runs Atari 520ST - poor shape - powers on/runs 3.5 SF354 Atari 850 Atari 810 - 5.25 XM 301 410 Cassette Monitor SC1224 It's a rough list. I imagine most of you on here will know more about what I have. I have photos. Some of them are doubles. I want to make sure you can see the condition of the items. https://imgur.com/a/doqNz

  24. What would you consider to be the best party games for the real VCS. Homebrew is allow, I heard people talking about warlords and Mark from Classic Game Room mentioned Steeplechase. What are your go to games?
  25. I've seen Atari Flashback Portables at my local Target dropping to as low as $40. I've been a little curious as to how they are, but is it worth picking one up? Are there any caveats I should be aware of? How is game compatibility? How is hardware emulation? The only Flashback I've ever had was the Flashback 2 (I have two of those), but the Portable seems interesting.
