  1. I have a 2600 that won't come in on my TV. I have the RF plugged into an RF>coax adapter and into the (CRT) TV and when I turn it on the TV static goes wild but no picture. So I know it's getting power. I cleaned the game. I tried both channels 2 and 3 and even did a channel search but still nothing. Any suggestions? Could it be a bad adapter? I know the TV is fine because I just used an NES plugged with RF earlier.
  2. Greetings all, I'm trying to get back to programming between things that keep taking up my spare time. I decided to go back to the original Atari classics and work on my game logic basics and optimizations before moving on to other projects I need to complete and want to start. Space Race was the second Atari arcade game after Pong and used the same hardware. Nolan Bushnell worked on this before having to move on and run the company. I thought I would try my hand at coding it on the 7800 using the original black and white graphics style. I decided to run this one in 320A mode and I stuck with single player. I know this game has been hacked on the 2600 using Freeway (which was inspired by Space Race) but I went back to the original game and tried to recreate it as closely as possible from scratch. The object of the game is to get all the way to the top through all the space debris without being hit. There are no lives, so the only limiting factor is time. Players are given 60 seconds to complete the trek as many times as possible. When the game is over players can then go back to the main menu and try again. It's a WIP so it's still rough, but the main functionality is in place. I want to optimize it a bit more, introduce difficulty levels, add a second player, POKEY music, better sfx, etc. I uploaded version 0.91 that has most fixes but for some reason slows down after finishing a game and going back to the main menu. Another item to fix. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Race_(video_game) spacerace_07.78b.a78 spacerace_07.78b.bin Original Release (0.7) JS7800: https://raz0red.github.io/js7800/?cart=https://forums.atariage.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=968804&key=8f2c0361b9ae13772b217b5551b6d898 The latest version (0.96): JS7800: https://raz0red.github.io/js7800/?cart=https://forums.atariage.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=970385&key=d1e62e0e104582f418cb20dd1b2cb0f5 *NOTE: I had a laptop crash on me and I may have lost the 7800basic source code for the last 2 versions before getting them committed to the git repository. I do have everything else, but if I can't recover the source code I may have to recode some things.
  3. Hello everyone! I’m looking to sell or trade two rare NTSC PUZZY Atari 2600 games: Space Tunnel & Seamonster. Both have been tested and are in good shape. Im primarily looking to trade these for other rare Atari 2600 games or NES games, but I’m also open to money offers (and partial trades too), so please PM me if interested. Photos are attached below. Also, let me know if you want any more photos. Thank you!
  4. Beer is important! Especially when we talk about SpaceZot, it's not very legal and it can only be found in the worst bars in the galaxy... So when you learn that a full cargo of this divine nectar has just crashed in an asteroid field, you jump into your shuttle to try to recover as much as possible. It's dangerous, it can be very profitable but, but, but we're talking about SpaceZot here! What else ?? There are still a few gameplay details to work out and the game will be available for download soon. The game has been coded in GFA Basic and requires a STE with 1MB of memory to run. The graphics are from PAPY CPC. And the music by @dma Originally, SpaceZot is a mini game that you can find in the excellent COSMOS CHRONICLE by my friend @drfloyd We made this standalone version of his game as a tribute. It will help us to wait for its release Thanks to @Saberman for testing our game and publishing this video.

  6. [UPDATE SOLD the 4 NOS 400 keyboards I had - still have one known good used one] For Sale: I have a small number of NOS (new old stock) original Atari 400 keyboards (the original flat ones). Please PM me if you need one. U.S. based. $25 + shipping. I have not tested each one however I used one in my tricked-out ‘keeper’ 400 and it works great. I also have 1 used known working 400 keyboard. $10 + shipping. They are lite but shipping takes a somewhat bulky box to properly protect the connector cable. I also have many Atari 8bit books and some cartridges for sale too if you want to combine and save on shipping. I will add links to my other FS items. Thanks for looking. 😁
  7. Hi - (12/18/2022 Replaced with updated pictures) I have a number of Atari 8bit and a few Atari ST books that I have duplicates of. Please send me a PM if you see something you want. My prices are the best around. Many books are $10 or less with a few $15 or higher. Thanks for looking!! A few Atari ST books. Not pictured but I have the Atari Logo books available too. Not pictured however I have a nice photocopy of De Re Atari in a 3-Ring binder. Also not pictured but I have a very nice copy of of the original BASIC Reference Manual that came with the 400/800.
  8. [Update: 8/17 the 130xe and XEGS have sold. I still have 800, 600XL and 800XL units for sale.] U.S.A. NC based. I have multiple great looking fully cleaned and fully tested Atari 400, 800, Atari 600XL, 800XL, XEGS & 130XE units for sale. The 800XLs have the (added) Chroma wire fix so they have great color using the monitor port out to S-Video type connections that utilize separate Chroma and Luma signals. All keyboards and ports are fully functioning like new. Please PM me, let me know what you are interested in and I will send pictures and prices. You can't beat my prices!! I also have many good working Atari 8bit cartridges for sale along with many 8bit manuals and books. 9. Lego Atari 2600 Item # 10306 "Coming Soon on August 1, 2022" https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/atari-2600-10306 $239.99 seems pretty high for a set like this.
  10. In Skyfox for the Apple II, if you press Ctrl-G after you select your level a Space Invaders game will load up for you to play. This type of thing is a little more common with modern games I imagine because space isn't as big of a concern. But this got me thinking, what other hidden games are there for any of the classic computers? I'm guessing this wasn't real common, but there must be some others. I know there were a few games in Commodore 64 loaders, but what I'm more interested in are the ones that are truly hidden.

  12. I saw on a Twitter post by someone else that mentioned Atari's Rollercoaster Tycoon license expires in 2022. My guess is that when they have something to share regarding that license it may be tied into Atari's 50th anniversary celebration. I didn't notice a RCT on VCS thread on here so I thought I'd create one! Licence info: https://www.atari.com/chris-sawyer-and-atari-announce-three-year-license-extension-for-rollercoaster-tycoon/ Press release mentioning RCT coming to VCS in the future: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2021/08/16/2281430/0/en/ATARI-ANNUAL-RESULTS-2020-2021.html

  14. Hi! As the ATGames Flashback Portable cannot play most (all....) of the new Creations of the 2600-Scene, I would be interested to buy a new Handheld-Device for Atari 2600-Games "on the Go" (and only for that). Has someone made experiences with the Powkiddy V90 concerning Atari-Emulation? I like the Clamshell-Design that saves the Display from possible Scratches... There is a custom Firmware that should make Retroarch available for this Device. But: Does ist use a good Version of Stella (meaning >=6.x) so that Galagon and Co. are playable (at full Speed)? Or are there are Handhelds that are better for what I want?
  15. Hi, I would like to share with you a cool Atari project. You can play the Atari games using your hands as motion controls. No joystick needed. Yes , yes : your hands instead of a joystick I captured and converted the hand poses to electric signals “running” through the Atari ports, so your hands control the game. Pretty amazing. This project is based on a computer vision and Python coding, running on a Raspberry PI device with a camera. It is a DIY project . 17. I just burned a pair of 27C040 EPROMs with four TOSes and installed them in my 1040STe. I have pins 30 and 31 (A17 and A18) tied to 5v each through a 10K resistor. These pins are also each connected a SPST switch that grounds the address line when flipped up. For some reason, only the last TOS is working - Petar Putniks v1.62i. The other three just sit at a white screen forever at power up or a garbage screen if reset. I'd put the files up for someone to check, but I don't want to post PP's custom TOS online. @ParanoidLittleMan I used PP's ROMSPLI2.PRG on my ST to split each of the TOS images into a HI and LO file. Then I used Windows COPY /B command to merge the four LO files together, ditto for the HI files... ie: copy /b TOS162.LO + TOS206.LO x.LO copy /b x.LO + EMUTOS.LO y.LO copy /b y.LO + PPTOS.LO z.LO ..ditto for the .HI files. Both came out to an even 512KB. EPROMS did burn and verify without issue. I verified that the IMG files worked in the HATARI emulator before I split them. Wiring is clean. No shorts or opens. Pins 30 and 31 are out of the socket and not touching anything else besides the wiring attached to them. What could I be doing wrong?

  19. Hello everyone , I have decided to veer away from software for a bit and have instead fired up my 3D printer and Tinkercad to produce a good set of wall mounts that are Atari Universal, as I print the first design, I will be seeing what changes the STLs need and adjusting accordingly for the different Atari computers that are out there. I have listed my design on Tinkercad, it is a remix of another design, and as such credit has been given to the original designer of the Laptop Wall Mount Set. Here is the URL for my design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5335874
  20. [Updated 7/31/2022] Hi - Please PM me if you are interested in either or both of these 2 programming language kits. The carts work and the documents are in great shape (no odors or signs of water damage, no tears). Consider the cost, time and shipping costs it would take to collect all of these items on their own. Please PM me if interested. Thanks!! 1) Atari LOGO (a fair box, all contents are in great shape) 2) Atari PILOT (Note: box no longer available otherwise the other contents are in great shape)
  21. Up for grabs is a pair of tested working Wico "The Boss" joysticks that will work with most db9 pin game systems including all pre 90s Atari consoles and Commodore 64/ Vic 20. Only selling as a set. Asking $34 shipped to anywhere in the US. If elsewhere you'll have to pay extra for shipping.
  22. The historical videogame par excellence is undoubtedly Pong. The first commercialized digital tennis game. Did we need yet another version in 2022? I would have answered no but, in this enhanced version which includes the use of the joystick and also a single player mode that include the AI for the computer player.... well, I had to change my mind! ? This is how an Italian developer who signs himself with the pseudonym 'Skirla' (but also known as 'Piso' ), who as his first official complete game, gives us a version of Pong that we did not yet have on the TI-99/4A! It will take the additional 32K to be able to get it started. The Downloads including the XB, EA5 for the .BIN I created it using the Make Cart @Tursi utility (Thanks!). It is a GROM image and on my FG99, I do now know why, it seems to not work but it is ok with emulators. Can maybe Help with this please? maybe to create a ROM image? Module Creator seems to have a limit in doing the conversion of these EA5 files. In the meanwhile, I also created a couple of labels for the cartridge: Description and free downlaod can be found in the TI99iuc website following this page these are the direct link for the .ZIP files: - XB - EA5 - Cartridge image (GROM) - (include the labels)
  23. The World's Smallest Functioning Atari 2600 Console! A review of the world's smallest functioning Atari 2600. What are your guys opinions on this little thing?
  24. My collection. 30+ years in the making. Yes, these are dust proof, moisture proof tubs. Most systems are not new, but I like to keep them dust free. 82 systems counting the vintage original systems and the modern minis / classics. Not including the 20+ Plug and Play systems. You could get technical and say an Atari 1040 STE and a Mega STE are essentially the same thing, but for the system count's sake, I did not group them. I have not focused on handheld systems, but they have crept into the collection through awesome finds and trades. And, yes, my chair is lame. My father made the large toybox for my children when the first one was born, and I had it re-upolstered with Arcade Logo fabric when they got too old for a toybox. It houses all kinds of extra cables and connectivity items required to get various systems working with various monitors or TVs. For the monitors / TVs, I have a PS3 3D TV, a Dell MutiSync Monitor (for the Atari STs and Amiga), an Atari ST monochrome and an Atari ST color monitor, a 4K TV, a 215 pound Sony Trinitron WEGA TV and finally a Sharp curved CRT good for the light guns. I have a broken Emerson Arcadia 2001 and Microvision, so they are counted in the total. Next items that I'm still working to get: Playstation 5 Xbox Series X Philips CDi Emerson Arcadia 2001Gameboy Color Amstrad 6128 Sinclair ZX Spectrum I started my collection with unique vintage controllers and then modded controllers for various systems, then adapters or adapted controllers that allow just about any system to use any controller, then finally modded systems. Not all systems are modded, but the vast majority of them have something that has modernized them in a user and game-library friendly way. Most Unique is probably the Amiga 1200 in a PC case with modern cooling, USB ports, CD32 capabilty, and Flash Drives. Favorites: The 800XL was my first computer and bought earning $3.10 an hour in a Target warehouse, so I am attached to it. I still love the Super Nintendo's hand drawn sprite games. Thanks for letting me share!
