  1. Hi guys. I'm working on a remake of Let's Compare ( Donkey Kong ). The original video is out of date & I need to upgrade it. I'm looking for either the ROMS or good clean video footage of all 4 levels from the updated Intellivision version & The arcade version for the colecovision. The new video will be hi def & 60 fps. Any help would be greatly appreciated & I'll include any help in the credits. Thanks guys. Gaming History Source
  2. The news site www.AtariToday.NET has been relaunched because I have brought my old website AtariToday.net back to life. AtariToday.net is a central news site about Atari Retro News. This site collects news headlines from various sources like NewsFeeds, Wiki, Twitter and YouTube. Additional there are also links to newsgroups and BBS (Bulletin Board Systems). Something about the history of AtariToday In 2003, Mathew Bacon launched the AtariToday.com website together with MyAtari.net. In 2007, he finally gave up and deleted the website(s) and discontinued the MyAtari magazine. In 2007 I registered the URLs AtariToday.com and www.AtariToday.NET to keep up the News-Site. I used the old Bacon design. 2012 when i stopped my work as ABBUC webmaster, I canceled the websites. In 2023 I grabbed the URL www.AtariToday.NET again. But for the .com URL i was too late. Someone registered the website some weeks before and placed the ancient content from 2005 on the .com site. And here it is now: www.AtariToday.NET ...with a fresh layout in a similar style to the old "Bacon" site that i love. It is a good starting point for an overview of the latest news from the Atari scene. Take a cup of coffee and enjoy the daily Atari news on www.AtariToday.NET regards Andreas
  3. Hi, i am looking for 2x CIB Adventures of Tron for Atari 2600. Shipping to US or Europe. Payment paypal. thanks for your offers
  4. Hi - I have a partially working Indus GT drive (for Atari) I want to offer here before resorting to eBay. It has some issues so I am asking $100 plus shipping. U.S. lower 48 only. With original power adapter and a SIO cable. Here’s what my testing shows: I can get it to read and boot many diskettes. I have loaded several games on homemade diskettes successfully. However I often get G5 errors on other diskettes. For example: I can boot a single density OSS DOS XL 2.30p error free, every time. I can ‘Q’ to DOS, type ‘DIR’ and get a good directory listing. However, everytime I try to boot a double density version of the same OSS DOS XL version I get a G5 error. The disk boots fine on other drives I have. So maybe a timing or alignment issue? I do not know how to fix. Maybe just needs a belt? I don’t know. A second issue is the middle LED bar on the right LED number does not light up. So a ‘3’ looks like ‘]’ (see picture). Last, a cosmetic issue. The plastic front window is in great mechanical shape (it opens and closes as intended). However it has several scratched areas and several areas that appear to have heat damage like from a solder iron?? See pictures. If you know how to repair these this should be a good unit for you. plastic front cover has some cosmetic flaws. LED display of ‘03’ (middle bar of the ‘3’ does not light up) Example of a successful boot of single-density diskette and ‘DIR’

  6. Vintage Atari posters. Once cost 79 cents 🙂 They are around 24 inches tall and 12 inches wide. They are in really nice shape, they were made in the early 80's, one I checked is 1982. I think they are mostly perfect, maybe a few we hung at one point with a single pin hole here or there I can check before you buy if that's possible. I have no clue how to ship these things! But I've got a packing store close buy, so I'm sure they'll ship them the best way possible. Anyone interested? 1 Tempest 4 Breakouts 1 Battle Zone 4 Star Raiders (If someone collects these and are looking for others, let me know, I have one of each I'm saving back which include Haunted House, Warlords, Missile Command and Centipede. )

  10. I need a NTSC TIA chip for my old and I cant find any anywhere! Please help!
  11. Hello there o/ I'm tired of the standard icons for Altirra. I made my own collection: floppy disks images, cassette, cartridge, rom (binary), well, for basic and XEX. Inside the archive you will find PNG files sized 512x512px, as well as ICO files for windows, sized 256x256 and smaller. Also there are blanks of reg-files for windows. You only need to change the path where the icons are located @="E:\\Workspace\\Icons\\atr.ico" and the path where the emulator is located @="\"e:\\Emu\\Atari\\Altirra \\Altirra64.exe\" \"%1\"" WinIcons.zip
  12. https://www.mobygames.com/game/atari-2600/frogger-ii-threeedeep I actually bought this loose cartridge a few months ago at a local retro video game store (Stateline video games). I bought it because I really like original Frogger, and I thought the price seemed decent for a rather rare game. (AtariAge rates it a 6). I plugged it in and gave it a try, without going online and reading the manual, of course. My initial thoughts were along the lines of "Well, this is weird and unplayable. But it will be a fun cart to have." Then it put it away and didn't really touch it for a while. I always try to participate in the High Score Club on Ferg's 2600 Game by Game Podcast Discord. Frogger II was the pick for January, so I was pretty excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, it's been a pretty busy month, and I didn't get much of a chance to play. (And I was also distracted by playing Ms. Pac-Man and Montezuma's Revenge for the 5200). But as we reached the end of the month, I decided I better get some time in so I could at least participate in the Club. After reading the manual, the gameplay made a lot more sense. (When will I learn?). And after a little time getting used to how it plays, I started really enjoying it. Now I think that this a fun and challenging sequel to Frogger, that I will definitely want to get out and play again in the future. I like how falling into the water/air on the higher stages drop you to the lower stage rather than killing you. Certainly makes more sense on the "Surface level" - which is essentially the single Frogger 1 screen. I guess we assume in Frogger 1 that if you fall into the water, the submarines get you. As of right now, my high score is 3,022. Actually, I think I did slightly better than that but didn't capture a screenshot because I was thinking my high score was higher. I'm going to keep playing it until the end of the month, although I have no chance of catching the other guys in the Discord. EDIT: It's also worth noting that that the 5200, 8-bit, and PC Booter versions of this game look worth checking out. The PC Booter version supports CGA composite mode, so also worth a look.
  13. [SOLD] Does anyone need a working 1025 Atari dot matrix printer? It needs a fresh ink ribbon but I understand they are available. I am asking $40 but will consider all offers. My wife says ‘it must go’. Please PM me if interested. Thanks!! See pictures of the unit and a recent test print from an Atari 8bit. I recently shipped one of these for $15 but depending on where you are it could be more. I am in NC, USA.
  14. Hi all.. new here! Thanks for having me! I am wondering which is the best budget handheld? Ideally I would love a Steam Deck, but I can't justify that much on a handheld atm. So based on my own research it feels like its between : Anbernic 353M Anbernic RG505 Retroid Pocket 3+ Ayn Odin Pro (what is the difference between base and pro?) I love the look of the 353M, love the dpad swap on the odin, but I just wish the 353M had more RAM and was capable of PS2/GC. Can't figure out why its almost the same price as the much superior (on paper) RG505 either. Anyone know why? Just wish the 505 had the look of the 353. It looks boring IMO and the colour choices are crap. So I think the 353M is only on my list because of high ratings and it looks great, but also the linux option was attractive. But I suppose I need to look at one of the other 3 if I want PS2/GC games but came here for advice. Or maybe you know of a better handheld for that price range? My budget is upto £200/$250 (GBP/USD) require ps2/gc emulation screen larger than 4" would be nice Suggestions welcome! Cheers!
  15. Dear all, I'd like to open this thread on my recent development "MidiJoy" because the topic of the thread which led to its inception is now only merely loosely connected to what has come out of it. I'll begin with posting some general information on MidiJoy, afterwards I'm looking forward to questions, comments and bug reports here . The most up-to-date information will probably always be on my website: http://www.phobotron.de/midijoy_en.html and a video introducing the basic idea of MidiJoy is available on YouTube. However, the software will only be available after the ABBUC hardware contest in which MidiJoy is participating (this is part of the competition's rules). Of course I'd be glad if you vote for it in the contest, and if it should make it to the Top 3, I'd make MidiJoy available for free afterwards . Enjoy, F.

  17. Hi Atarians! - Cracking is never over - And the fuc***g best Replicants are back in 2022 to bring you a new hot crack! The long-awaited release of Son Shu Shi! New cracktro, new graphics, new music and... a huge surprise! You can get it from there: https://github.com/orionfuzion/newcracks/blob/master/SonShuSi/README.md This release is very special in many ways: it is the first 100% functional version of this great game (the version of Terminator Kid, the only one that existed until today, was corrupted and badly cracked), the protection of the game is one of the most incredible ever coded on Atari ST, but moreover this crack is the opportunity for most of the former Replicants to share with you their memories... if you find their hidden text! A huge thanks to all those who participated in this release: Fury, Kelly.X, Dieu, Jade, Dma-Sc, GT Turbo, Cooper, Twister, Senser, Brume, Mit and all Replicants members! Also a big thanks to Atari Legend (Brume & ST Graveyard) who did an incredible job on this title, which you can find here: The history of Son Shu Shi, how it was lost and found: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGUaeOTp-bo A review of the game: https://www.atarilegend.com/reviews/160 An interview with the Kral brothers, the coders of the game: https://www.atarilegend.com/interviews/48 And an interview with Zae, the founder of Expose Software: https://www.atarilegend.com/interviews/67 Don't forget: this crack is full of surprises! -- Orion / The Replicants
  18. Hi, in order to avoid flooding Atari Age forum with topics, I decided to create an universal topic for all my new songs, which I will use from now on. And here comes the first new cover tune, coming from Super Nintendo Entertainment System's game Final Fantasy VI. Uses stereo POKEY, doublespeed player routine. RMT, SAP and XEX files attached. https://soundcloud.com/pseudografx/final-fantasy-vi-terras-theme FF6-Terra.zip
  19. MAME 0.250 November has passed us by, and it’s time for MAME 0.250, with a distinct Konami flavour! On the arcade side, the third and fourth player positions are supported in NBA Play By Play, and lots of regional variants have been added for games running on Hornet hardware. We’ve also added support for a Konami hand-held LCD game, a Tiger LCD game based on a popular Konami franchise, and a prototype of an unreleased Game.com title in the same series. In addition to the Castlevania-themed LCD game, we’ve added licensed Tiger LCD games featuring Mega Man, Ninja Gaiden, Superman and Gargoyles characters, although the latter two are different skins for the same game. MSX computer emulation has had a major overhaul, with more supported systems and peripherals, including lots of cartridge port floppy drives. As a bonus, the Fujitsu FM Towns family gained support for more controllers, including the Marty Pad and the twin-stick Libble Rabble joypad. Hard disk issues affecting the FM Towns family were also tracked down and fixed. Atari 8-bit computer cartridge emulation has been modernised, and a few more unlicensed Game Boy cartridges are supported (you can now play some very famous unauthorised translations in MAME). The Quantel DPB-7000 is looking much better, with lots of progress on video output and peripheral support. Namco’s Alpine Surfer is now playable in MAME, and several graphical glitches that had plagued System 22 emulation have been banished. Support for Italian versions of Quizard has been added, and German versions of Quizard 3 and Quizard 4 Rainbow are now working, as well as a Czech version of Quizard 4 Rainbow. A missing line scroll effect in Seta’s Caliber 50 is now emulated, and some flickering graphics in Atari’s Return of the Jedi have been fixed. Other improvements include lots of fixes for invalid memory accesses, function keys for the Franklin Ace (Apple II clone) computers, proper DIP switch labels for Nintendo Vs. Mahjong, and much, much more. You can read about all the changes this month in the whatsnew.txt, and you can download the source code and 64-bit Windows binary packages from the download page. 20. So over the last few days, quite a few cartridges started making their way into my collection. I did one major batch/rush over a couple of days to get as many as I could. Just because I'm basically doing reproductions by adding these new labels, I decided to keep the costs reasonable as an additional challenge. Basically keep each cartridge under $10 (Canadian). I was able to do this with the only exception being Robot Tank which ended up being $14. Everything else was from $2 to $10. With eBay I was trying to keep shipping free where possible but tax added a couple of bucks. Overall I got some good deals especially a copy of Frostbite for $2, even though the label was in rough shape. I ended up getting a couple of duplicates, one of Freeway and one Sky Jinks, as in a couple of cases I bought batches. Facebook Marketplace was a great especially since I came across somewhere further south in the province that was shipped at a very reasonable price. That was 7 cartridges there. Found another one in FB for Spider Fighter. On my way to my place up north came across a person selling a bunch for $5 each and picked up 8 carts via Kijiji. Kaboom at a retro video game store for $10+tax. About half a dozen from eBay. I'm still waiting for Megamania, Robot Tank and Starmaster to arrive from a couple separate orders. Weird because these two were from Ontario and I received orders from British Columbia last week; they should have arrived quicker. Interestingly enough, there were 3 carts that were in better shape than the ones I had in my collection, so I swapped those: Commando, Decathlon, and Boxing. Here is the Spider Fighter from last weekend compared to my original copy on the left. Colours are fairly similar. Here is a picture of an immaculate circuit board for Commando (this was my original copy): Here are Enduro, Grand Prix, Seaquest, Pitfall, Hockey and Plaque Attack. Six titles I picked up for $5 each. I got Commando as well, but did it in a separate batch after wanting to compare with my original copy since it was in stellar condition. Here they are again with originals (in the left). Colours as before are not perfect matches, probably because of fading over the years (UV or just oxidation?). Ice Hockey probably glows in the dark. Here are the other 15 I picked up before I removed the labels. Decathlon, Commando and Boxing were my original copies. Some of them were pretty shoddy. Chopper Command must have something spilled into it since I took ages to clean it up without any brown stuff getting wiped (blergh!). River Raid was a mess. Couldn't get the label out after 4 days of having sitting in Goo Gone. I ended taking a Sky Jinks extra cart and re-purposing it (AG-019 for Sky Jinks, AG-020 for River Raid). Strangely enough, the RR had springs, why SJ did not. Here are they with all the new labels. This took 3 days in doing them in batches. And here are all the cartridges done so far. They all work, although some needed some extra cleaning with the contacts with three of them actually needing to be sanded slightly. At this point Megamania, Robot Tank and Starmaster should be done in a few days. I'll keep looking for copies of Barnstorming, Bridge, Checkers, Dragster, Fishing Derby, Skiing and perhaps Pitfall II. I will most likely need to spend more than $10 on some of those titles.
  21. Welcome to this programming forum where you can find help and collaborate. This group is exclusively based on atari 2600 or vcs programming
  22. Hi, I am a long-standing member of AtariAge and also have an Etsy Store. I have a nice Atari Flahback 2 for sale: Atari Flashback 2 Video Game System With 40 Built in Games in - Etsy You do not have to sign up for Etsy to purchase anything....you can do it as a guest, as many others have. Also check out the many retro-game consoles and items I have. Regards, Everett
  23. I was given an Atari 1050 floppy drive at some point, and with it came some software. One of those items of software allowed me to take several Atari tape-based games, load them in, and then save and convert them into a version that was loadable from floppy. This was mostly a godsend, as I didn't need to load from tape those particular games anymore, and it would always load fast and reliably from floppy. The problem with the software was that it didn't work with custom tape loaders or multi-part tape loaders, I was stuck there. I cannot for the life of me remember what the software I used was named, or if there were others of its kind out there that could deal with all tape games. However, if anyone has experience of software like this, could they provide details and even screenshots if possible?
  24. Hello everyone! I’m looking to sell or trade two rare NTSC PUZZY Atari 2600 games: Space Tunnel & Seamonster. Both have been tested and are in good shape. Im primarily looking to trade these for other rare Atari 2600 games or NES games, but I’m also open to money offers (and partial trades too), so please PM me if interested. Photos are attached below. Also, let me know if you want any more photos. Thank you!
  25. I intended to edit this footage into a review but YouTube is being slow with the download link.
