  1. Hi, I have my copy of E.T sealed on auction atm link is.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181485653234&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
  2. In the iOS App Store now. Free with no in app purchases. Hashteroids, Centipup, Take-out, all realized at least as well as Atari's Greatest Hits. http://toucharcade.com/2014/07/01/dennys-atari-remix-released/
  3. Well good news I found a heavy sixer for $20 at goodwill today. I was pumped till I got it home and started it up. Nothing but a black screen! Well I tried all the obvious stuff. Still nothing so I opened her up... No obvious problems. After a few hour of tinkering and checking voltages I decided to pull out my light sixer open it up and 1 by 1 I swapped out the socket'd chips. Bingo the little one in the middle fixed it. I didn't want to swap out the guts completely cuz I figured then its just a light sixer in heavy sixer clothes. But my light sixer is mint and the heavy sixer looks good but the wood grain has got some marks and the orange trim has definitely taken some wear. Now im considering swapping the tops. I know I cant fool the experts but I think it would make me happy to make my heavy sixer look perfect... But then again it wouldn't be perfect because I'd be cheating. What would you do?
  4. Would there be any possible way to save files in cassette format on any Atari 8-bit computer emulator? I looked at many various emulators such as Altirra, A8E, Atari800win plus, etc, and I can't seem to find any option on any of those for what I'm trying to do.
  5. Just I've listed my first auction in eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251530697357 It's a uncommon R320 Cartridge 32 in 1 in very good state, connector is clean. Most of the games contained are interesting hacked versions of classic Atari games. Just as a sample, the Donkey Kong game in this cartridge has Donkey Kong replaced with a kind of big smiling bunny More info http://atariage.com/forums/topic/42602-anyone-read-chinese-check-out-this-multicart-i-just-got
  6. I've seen Atari Flashback Portables at my local Target dropping to as low as $40. I've been a little curious as to how they are, but is it worth picking one up? Are there any caveats I should be aware of? How is game compatibility? How is hardware emulation? The only Flashback I've ever had was the Flashback 2 (I have two of those), but the Portable seems interesting.

  8. Here's a machine I've been curious about but have never seen often enough in the wild: the Atari ST. Unlike the Amiga, which I seriously desired as a kid (and I have two models now: a 500 and a 4000!), the Atari ST tickled my curiosity but wasn't one of those "Oooh, I've gotta have it right now!" type of desires. Nowadays, though, I thought it would be pretty neat to check out the actual Atari ST hardware and see what it's all about! I do have some experience using Atari TOS thanks to Hatari, and I have sampled some games and demos on the platform. It's enough to wet my beak and get me interested in wanting to maybe add one to my collection! My problem, however, is that, like other retro computers of the time, the prices for Atari STs (and even the STE) have shot through the roof to ridiculous, exonerate prices on eBay and even Amibay. To make matters worse, most auctions and sales that I see are all in Europe (and I'm in the USA), which would mean that shipping would be absolute murder, and I'd also have to then spend money on things like step-down transformers and plug adapters. So my question is this: what's a fair going price for an Atari ST? I'd prefer an STE model; it can have 1MB RAM minimum and that's fine. Hell, it doesn't even need to come with cables; since the PSU is internal on STE models and is a standard 3-prong PC lead, I can supply one. I just need a mouse and I'm good. Send some ideas my way and I'll work from there!
  9. hello i hope someone can help me i have googled alot and i did not find anyting. the power supply workes and it reads 5 volt after the regulater. the cable i am using is a rca coax cable do i need to get a different cable? i have tested it with mutiple tvs and games, it is a 2600 jr pal version . -seppe
  10. Some great classic TV commercials in this short video. Including Batman Returns. Which was a decent port for the handheld. Link: https://goo.gl/cKSmC4
  11. Just saw this a few moments ago. Has anyone seen this handheld or have any additional info? Looking at the images, there doesn't seem to be any color ('colour' for those across the Atlantic ) or difficulty switches on the handheld, nor is there a PAL/NTSC selection option (PAL only?). Supposedly it should be available November 2017 and can be pre-ordered now. http://www.funstockretro.co.uk/atari-retro-handheld The following IGN article mentions an 'analog' control stick (for paddle games????) http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/09/01/nintendo-switch-style-atari-2600-retro-handheld-console-revealed gbennett0321
  12. For quite a while now, I have been looking for a ROM of the ATASCII Animation program that was for the Atari 800, "Atari Toons". I used every search engine I know of, trying to find a ROM of it, and I have also been to a ton of ROM sites as well, but I can't seem to get ahold of one. I also can't find any physical copies of it on eBay or Amazon. Can someone help me out?

  14. I dissected my Atari earlier, and I feel like it deserves a name. I was thinking Yolanda or Betty Sue. If anyone has any old fashioned names that would fit, that would be great. Also my Atari is a girl. Don't make fun of me for naming my console, she's pretty and she needs a name. xD I'm a girl too so trust me I'm not some old dude with a weird fetish. Here's a picture of her for a reference. THANK YOU.

I would like to give folks a try at my new game before the finishing touches are added. If you like my game please consider buying it when it comes out!! This was programmed from scratch, by me!! Here are the instructions.. Joystick = moves the character Hold action = Jump (in Jump let go of action to attack) Left + action = attack Right + action = attack Down + action = special attack Hold up + action = Use magic (uses power) In easy hold action on the Game Over screen to continue In Hard hold action to begin at an earlier point in the game (usually), or choose a different character On the title screen hold a direction to listen to one of the music tracks, five in total! (I made all the music, too) This game is one of my most loved creations and I hope you all enjoy it and consider purchasing it when/if it comes out at AtariAge Please don't take my code or modify it in any way!! I present.. Titan Axe Beta TitanAxeBeta.bin
  16. Hello all! I recently picked up a ratty old 4-port 5200 lot off craigslist for cheap. It was a great deal if only for the 17 games (including James Bond), but I was hoping to get some life out of the console and controllers as well. So I got everything nice and cleaned up, hooked it all up, and turned it on. The switcher clicked and the power light on the console came on, but no screen output (not even the black screen). So through the process of elimination, I found out that the console and power supply works fine, but that the switcher box wasn't working. (I found out by using a known good switcher, and it came up perfect, with both display and sound clear as a bell.) Took apart the switcher box, had to reflow some cracked joints on both the RF and power supply jacks, then tried it again. That time, I was getting a display, but it was very staticky and had awful static noise coming out. See the picture below: Given how expensive 5200 switchers generally run, I would prefer to fix this one if possible, especially as it seems this is a simple interference issue that I hope shouldn't be too difficult to fix. Oh, and if it's relevant, this is the Switcher box that has the RF antenna screws, and not the one without them. As I mentioned, I've already gone through and reflowed the cracked/loose solder points, but I'm just not sure what to try next. I had considered unwiring the antenna screws altogether, but I wasn't sure if that might mess something up? Worst case scenario, I'll just do an A/V mod on the thing. But my first choice is to fix the Switcher box if at all possible. Thanks in advance for any help!
  17. So there is a good deal on a 1200xl locally. $60 obo complete in the box along with a basic programming cart,rf cords, and the power supply. Issue is I'm only really interested in playing games on it and I have heard that it has compatibility issues. What do you think?
  18. I was looking for the woman who worked with John Skruch when I worked for Atari and I found THIS! I hope this is not a repeat post, but this is AWESOME! http://www.digitpress.com/library/books/book_atari_lynx_hint_book.pdf I always loved the Zarlor Mercenary "Game of Life" egg and the Chips Challenge Mandelbrot generator. Notes: The RoadBlasters egg is wrong - you have to be holding a button when you drive into the tree. Toki eggs were unknown to Sunnyvale apparently (hehehehe).
  19. All I have left are the Journey Escape games. These first six Journey Escape games are still sealed and have some slight damage to the boxes but they are in good condition. $10 shipped each. They will be shipped in a small box for protection (no bubble mailers on these!) ONLY ONE LEFT! The next six Journey Escape games are also still sealed but they have a little more damage to the boxes (front and/or back). $7 shipped each. ALL SIX AVAILABLE The next two Journey Escape games are still sealed but as you can see they are pretty beat up. The one on the right has a decent looking front but something was hungry so it ate part of the box. $5 shipped for the box on the left and $4 shipped for the box on the right The next three Journey Escape games are not sealed but one of them is complete while one is missing the catalog. The one complete box is in pretty good condition, not much damage to the box just some normal wear and tear. The other box is missing the catalog and the box is a bit more beat up. $5 shipped for the CIB game and $4 shipped for the one that is missing the catalog. ALL CIB sold, the other one is still available. Thanks for looking!
  20. Okay, so I bought a 2600 Jr. with 41 games from a guy on Craigslist for $30. He said it worked the last time he played it, which was about 2 years ago. I took it home and plugged it in, and (surprise!) it didn't work. I've spent time googling all day today and yesterday, and can't find a solution to my problem. I've hooked it up to an old CRT, and when I turn it on I see the game and can hear the sound for about half of a second before it cuts to a black screen. I've tried using a different RCA-Coax hookup at a local retro store, still no good. Plus, the RCA-Coax it came with works on my NES. (Yes, for those wondering, it's a manual switch box) So on to solution 2. I tried cleaning the contacts via rubbing alcohol and q-tips on a cartridge and putting the game in and pulling it out several times. Still no good. I've tried multiple games, and I get the same thing every time. I'm going back to the retro store to try using a different power adapter tomorrow, the one that came with it doesn't warm up when plugged in, but the light on the console comes on. It's really hard to tell when the cover is on. Is this normal for the Jr.? Oh, I also cracked it open and aside from a few rust spots here and there, it looks to be in pretty good condition. All the soldering is solid and I can't really see anything wrong with it. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if I'm wasting my time trying to fix it. I'm hoping it's not a chip problem, but I don't know much about the 2600 to tell.
  21. I recently ordered this ac adapter off of ebay for my 2600. I was looking for an oem one, because those are the best to use. Anyways, I got this in the mail and I just haven't ever seen anything like this one before. The two things that I thought were odd was that first: It was was made in China. And second: the box has rounded edges. Do you guys know if this is oem, or have you ever seen any like this. (I don't have a camera so here's the ebay ad. It looks just like the picture on the box, except it has voltage specs etc. on the front too. It's also ended so just scroll down a little.) Thanks in advance! eBay Auction -- Item Number: 390458752431
  22. Hey guys, I've got here a nice Colecovision system I was looking to unload. As well as some more atari stuff that I'll post later. I was kind of looking to trade this stuff but i'm also taking offers since I don't have any price for this stuff in mind at the moment. The system works great and comes with all the hook ups necessary to play and 10 games which nearly all of them have amazing labels extremely glossy and in mint condition. (Except for Defender and Q-bert there not as nice!) See the pictures for the game titles! Take a look at the pictures down below here for a better look at what you would be getting. I've kind of been on the prowl lately for some PS2,Gamecube, and Dreamcast games maybe even some original xbox games. I'll post a list of specific titles i'm looking for, for various consoles and then just pm with whatever you got. Anyways here some pictures of the stuff! The system itself: http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0394.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0395.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0397.jpg The games! Labels are so glossy! http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0399.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0400.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0401.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0402.jpg http://i1060.photobu...78/IMG_0403.jpg That should be everything for now also will be posting some boxed 2600 games. I'm mainly looking for Gamecube,Dreamcast PS2 and Xbox games but i'm open to many other games from other systems! Check out my post on Nintendo Age theres a list of games I want there but again i'm open to more then what I have on my want list! Nintendo Age link: http://nintendoage.c...&threadid=63316
  23. I was wondering if anyone knows what is wrong when I tried to reset my atari 2600 with the reset switch on my Atari 2600 Jr it doesn't work but when I open up the console and jump the corresponding pin on the 6532 RIOT Chip I am able to reset and do the game select functions but If I plug in the ribbon cable into the motherboard that goes to the reset and game select buttons It doesn't do anything. I tried bridging it with wire but not effect the only thing It does when I do that it just stays in a constant reset loop like what would happen if you just held down the reset button. Any suggestions or idea would be much appreciated Thanks
  24. The poster for the upcoming Gameplay: The Story of the Videogame Revolution documentary film is now ready, and shown below. When the Website is ready, I'll post again, and also once distribution details for this year are finalized. The film, which is based on the Vintage Games series of books by me and Matt Barton (we're also writers and producers on the film), covers the history of videogames from the perspective of those who made it happen. Those interviewed include Nolan Bushnell, John Romero, Todd Howard, Daniel Murray, Darion Lowenstein, Eric Lindstrom, David Crane, and many, many more. The narrator is Cain Devore. The film also has a Facebook and Google+ presence, although Armchair Arcade is still a great place to find out new details (in fact, here's the same thing as a blog post there so you can see the PDF).
  25. Hello, I'm looking to expand my system collection, and would love to add an Atari 5200, Jaguar, Turborgrafx, and Colecovision! A 2600 Vader and 2600 Jr. would be nice too. I would prefer that they come complete with the power supply, RF cable, and at least 1 controller. However, if all you have is the system, I might still be interested if the price is right! Please let me know if you have any of these available. Thanks!!!
