Hi recently I've tried to start an atari 800 xl (pal) . I keep getting a blank screen on it. I've read other threads concerning this problem. Things I've tried so far: -Measure output. I got 3 times 5 volt inside the computer. -Refit all microships. -Using star raiders cartridge also didn't work. -None of the parts get's really hot. Things I've noticed: Sometimes I get yelow screen flash but then it turns black. Sometimes with star raiders I have very thin blue lines. And sometimes a nice beeeeep sound. When I press reset the blue thin lines or the sound goes away. If I use UHF it finds the atari at 62 Mhz here there are blue dots around 1 cm appart from each other moving. I do remember that it was broken when we put it away 10 years ago. It was broken suddenly 1 day it was working , the day after it diden't boot. Are there any other things I might have to try? I can't really swap ic's since we only have one atari 800xl Are there any other common bugs on the pc. I think it's not damage from being old. My dad suspects that cartridge bay is somehow stopping the system from booting? Thank you for you're help!

Hello I'm rather new to this, and I was wanting a little help. I recently bought an Atari 800xl and 1050 because they were going cheap and I loved it and the software packaged. However, I soon bought a SIO2PC thinking I could get ATR images off internet and run them on atari. I bought the serial cable model, and a serial adapter (I thought my pc had a serial port, alas, only usb) but when running the APE it throws up the error "[device manager] rs232 driver failed to initialize (usb only mode enabled)". The drivers are correctly installed as far as I'm aware, it says the serial adapter is in COM port 4, I don't know if this makes a difference. Thanks for your time

Hello, I just was using this Atari 800XL, and without reason, the "U" key seems as pressed but nobody is pressing the key. Hi! I have an (unmodified) Atari 800XL, a SIO2USB and a Side2 Cartridge. During my Internet-Browsing, I have discovered a "Wifi Modem" called Retro Wifi SI which seems pretty cool. My questions: 1) Does anyone have experience with connecting an Atari 800XL to Internet-Based BBSs? 2) Connecting via WIFI looks very tempting -- is the "Retro Wifi SI" any good, what else do I need / is recommended (a 850? a BlackBox?) 3) Is there some sort of SIO device with a built-in "Wifi Modem", which maybe even has a similar look like the Atari 800XL? Maybe some sort of 1030 hack/mod with a higher baud-rate, ready to buy from someone? 4) Could I also use SIO2USB for that until I have a "proper" WIFI solution? What kind of software would I use with the SIO2USB on the PC-side to provide connectivity to Internet-Based BBSs? 5) Any caveats I should consider? Thanks!

Doing some house cleaning... these games are, to the best of my knowledge, complete. I don't have a disk drive so I can't test these now but the last time I used them, they worked. Whatever doesn't sell by this weekend goes on FeeBay. I would be flexible on pricing if multiples are purchased. Using the SIO2PC, is it possible to save BASIC programs from my Atari 800XL to PC? I can send ATR images from PC to Atari, but can it go other way round? Do I need DOS or something? Thanks, sorry if this seems like a silly question
