Hi, i got this game Air Bone Assault and Robot Attack which are the same game but... What is the original game? At Atarimania it gets placed under Commando Raid but thats a different game... Someone knows?

Got a small lot from eBay. 5 of the cartridges had this simple reddish label with "Video Computer System" and "GAME PROGRAM" written on it. They also put the game code and name on the label with a typewriter (hard to see). When I tried to peek inside I could see a piece of label which is at this point fried to crisp. Most likely PAL (colors are off on my NTSC 7800). Games are from different publishers which made me think they are probably not a publisher prototype. Are these some sort of basement copies?

Back in 2015, I was granted permission to access the property of an old mini-golf fun center that had been sitting abandoned for nearly three years at that point in time. The fun center had operated from 1992 - 2012, when the owners defaulted on taxes and the place shut down for good. For my photography class final I decided to do an urban exploration piece, and I was EXTREMELY lucky to walk into the vacant relic of one of my favorite childhood places. Upon walking in, I was shocked to see that there were three games left, pushed into a corner of the game room. One of which was a Ms. Pac-Man machine, which I played time and again whenever I visited. However, I always wondered why it looked so...different. The cabinet, for one, is MASSIVE. The screen, from what I can recall, was far bigger than the arcade original, though it was still a vertical upright monitor. This game also possessed the speed chip, which if my memory is correct, was not added until sometime between my childhood and teenage years. I recall the game running at normal speed when I was a kid, though I could be wrong. But the cabinet itself has always intrigued me. Despite having "MIDWAY" plastered across the top above the screen, I wondered if this cabinet was actually a super-rare bootleg of sorts. I do know the control panel art is original Pac-Man art from a company called Willis (see below) So I have several theories on what this actual machine might be: 1. A official re-release by Midway in the 1990s, using leftover cabinets from other games they produced in an effort to liquidate unsold boards. 2. The cabinet itself is one where the owners can easily switch out arcade boards to classic games they have lying around, just to swap out a game from time to time and keeps their inventory fresh-ish, possibly made by Midway in the 90s. 3. The entire thing, board included, IS a bootleg game, though this wouldn't make much sense as the company that made it would have certainly been sued by Midway for using their logo in stickers. Does anyone else have any ideas? I'd love to hear them, and if anyone else has seen something like this out in the wild before. Before I left, I stuck a note with my contact information to whoever purchased the property in order to buy the game from them if they choose to sell it.

No one knows who made these things. The box is simply a new variant of the 15-in-1 box.- 1 comment

Hello! Some time ago I got some Atari 2600 Games and got two copies of Atlantis. One of them looks like a generic one, but the other one looks really strange. I think it might be a bootleg version, but I'm not sure. The font is different and the board is different too. I haven't opened the game, but when I look at the contacts I can see some resistors etc. I've made some pictures too. https://imgur.com/a/EAmOvDF I hope anyone knows what this is.

I've been collecting a bunch of different Famiclones recently, but this one in the shape of an XBOX might be my current favorite! lol Spoiler alert! It's crap. But really I think I collect them just because they "exist" and not really because they are anything I intend to use on a regular basis. They are just funny to me!

Hey, AtariAge! I come with more scans that I notice aren't in AtariMania. Recently purchased a lot of 3 games, a 4 Jogos cart by Dactar, Dragon Fire by JVP and Space Robot by Goliath (missing a label, it was cheaper than the others.) The 4 Jogos game by Dactar is the green label variation, with the contact info on the end label and the green font. Mine contains "Skiing, Tennis, Free-Way, Boxing." It's in NTSC format. The Dragon Fire game by JVP is I believe the standard variation, with art of two games on the front with the text "JVP Video Game" and "Video game cartridge made in Brazil." The back has a nice line of raised plastic which looks pretty "futuristic." It's also NTSC. The Space Robot game by Goliath (scans not listed) is standard and is missing the front label. PAL format. All together, they cost about $45 USD, and all work perfectly. I've attached scans of both Dragon Fire and the 4 in 1, as well as screenshots. Notice all four games on the multicart were rebranded as "Dactari." This brings up the question: was there a ROM made with just "Dactar," or was everything under the "Dactari" handle? The end label of the Dactar multicart says: MILMAR IND. COM. LTDA. C. G. C. 45.468.261/0001-79 Would this be a contact number, or a model number, or something else? Any questions, feel free to ask, Bizarre Bootlegs

Help! Patches are needed for Nintendo Gameboy and NES ROM's! Both "Rockman 8" and "Sonic 3D Blast 5" are only supported on the GEST Gameboy emulator. All other emulators are unable to play "Rickman 8" and "Sonic 3D Blast 5". I wish to play a ROM hack called "Supermario ASCII". I wish there was a patch to play this ROM on most NES emulators. Any info on how to create patches from scratch for ROM's would be appreciated. If anybody can patch those ROM's, I would be grateful.

Hi Everyone, this is my first post here, but I've visited occasionally for over 10 years. Last week, while not entirely sober, I purchased a 5200 Diagnostic cart from ebay, and it just came in the mail. I think that it may be a reproduction, and I'm not sure if I should report the seller or not. I was hoping someone could help me make a proper identification. Some reasons I think it is a reproduction are below: The label is very clean and shiny, in better condition than any of the games I own. The back screw was missing, meaning someone had taken it apart at some point. The board does not match the one shown at http://www.atariprotos.com/5200/software/diagnostic/11.htm The ROM was definitely re-soldered at one point, you can tell because the solder is much shinier than the rest of the board, and there are burn marks from de-soldering. PINs 15/16 are directly soldered together, I don't know if this is by design, or just a mistake on whoever put the chip in. I had trouble uploading pictures the first time around, so I will post this first, then upload them as a reply.

Hey, AtariAge. I'm a new user who has always had a small collection of 2600 games, usually very common NTSC ones I just enjoyed playing. Recently I've gotten into more serious collecting and have a few Quelle games and this oddity. I purchased it from Spain for about 50 euros. It came cartridge-only, without a box or game list. What I find most interesting is that I cannot find an entry for it on Atarimania. I have seen a few 160 multicarts online but with different labels and no dip-switch on the front. Now, let's get to the physical description. It has one single dip-switch on the front, which can be switched 3 ways. I don't know if there's 3 ROMs in the cart, or what the significance of the switch is. I would open up the cart and find out but the label's in good condition and I'd hate to ruin it. What I find interesting is that the label dips down a bit in 5 little sections which means that the same shell was probably used for 32-in-1 carts with actual dip-switches. Also, it takes a little wiggling to get into my Atari. It might just be the console, or the circuitboard. To select the game, you select a mode with the dipswitch and turn the Atari on and off until you find a game you like. What's annoying is that since I don't have a list it's like blindly grabbing a 2600 game from a box of them. So far I've seen Spiderman, Alien's Return, and some interesting European games I haven't seen before. I've attached scans for future reference and to aid Rom Hunter in his quest for HQ scans, and also a size comparison with a standard NTSC Tennis cart. For anyone with experience with PAL carts: is it standard for the front label to be pointing towards the end-label, instead of the cartridge slot like NTSC games? The two Quelle games I own and this multicart have their labels like this. Also, how much would this be valued at? Also, if someone can aid me on how to dump the ROM I'd be very appreciative. Thanks, BizarreBootlegs https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKZ_Gwx3k3OAJ7tMNR05dQQ

bootleg Help an NA brother identify this Pacman
Andromeda Stardust posted a topic in Arcade and Pinball
A fellow member of NintendoAge recently purchased a Pacman with an odd maze layout. I recognise this layout from Pacman Collection 7800. Any help or advice on value, etc would be helpful. Here is the OP thread on NintendoAge: http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=154548 -
Just Barely On Topic: Fun with LabelMaker2600 (Led Zeppelin)
wiseguyusa posted a topic in Atari 2600
I went to LabelMaker2600.com and was having some fun with the label maker when I had a somewhat 420 induced idea. I uploaded a popular Led Zeppelin bootleg, left out the songs that were incomplete recordings, and renamed it "Led Zeppelin - CX-420" The bootleg is from 1977, the year that the 2600 first landed under Christmas trees in the USA. I thought that the cartridge design was kinda clever, hope you guys enjoy the bootleg, and get the joke. Enjoy: http://www.roguestream.net/ledzep/Clv77- 7 replies

I just picked up "River Raid" and "Decathlon" in an auction. Both are PAL and work great on my PAL-system but when i put the two cartridges next to each other i spot some differences that make me believe that my Decathlon is either a bootleg copy or from some strange, special low-quality production round. First off the label sticker is of very bad quality. It doesnt show so much in the photo but it is very low resolution and not centered, as the "Activision" logo on the top is almost chopped off. Secondly, it only says "DECATHLON" "One to Four players using both joysticks" and nothing else. Even the end label is off-center. Click the picture for super-size! Secondly, the "River Raid" cart has "Activision" embossed in the plastic molding, as do another Activison game i have since earlier "Skiing". "Decathlon", however, only has a raised embossed rectangle where "Activision" should be. It also rattles a bit when shaken slightly in the hand. Click the picture for super-size! Could this be a bootleg cartridge or illegal copy, or is this just a strange budget variation? The game is PAL and works flawlessly though, but my other 2 Activision carts are of a better quality label with more text and plastic embossing on the back side of the cartridge. All Activision "Standard" carts have embossing according to the Activision label page here on AA found here -> http://atariage.com/label_page.html?SystemID=2600&LabelID=7 Also, the cart scan looks completely different, but that could be due to being NTSC and not PAL. http://atariage.com/cart_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=126 Thoughts? Ideas?

Through a friend I have just learned of a shop, apparently based in France that not only sells repros of rare games such as Raiden, and Lemmings, but also of free homebrews. http://www.freewebstore.org/Vectrom/Atari_Lynx_Games/p1908905_8647432.aspx I am not opposed to repros in general, on the contrary I wrote a positive article on the matter for a German magazine. Repros of unreleased stuff and fan translations are fine for me... But I usually draw a line when it comes to reproducing games that are just rare. Add to that that he is selling: Chip-8 Clicks Kistenschieben Lexis Lode Runner Loopz T-tris Yastuna1 Yastuna2 And a couple of others I don't even know. I am wondering if maybe we should sent complaints to this freewebstore.org and to eBay where he sells stuff too.
