I'd argue the original DS/DS Lite is bordering on retro/modern gaming at this point, but I figured I might as well group it with the rest of the systems. With the death of the 3DS eShop earlier this year and the Online service on its way out in March of next year, it's been a bit sad to watch one of my favorite portable systems of all time fall away from the support of its original creator. But at the same time, I've still got all of the wonderful memories of me as a young lad happily playing New Super Mario Bros. 2, Mario Kart 7, Monster Jam, and many others inherited from my mom way back when. I don't like to get rid of things, so I've still got most of my original games and even my original DS Lite hand-me-down from my mom to remind me of simpler times.. As a 2000s kid, the DS and 3DS were my entire world. Whenever I had the free time, that was the system I played for hours upon hours on end. So many great games only held back by hardware limitations such as the small screens, low resolutions, and processing power. As a kid, this never bothered me. And on the contrary, the 3DS absolutely blew my mind at the time as I had never seen portable gaming like it before. (Never owned/used a PSP, nor even knew about its existence. But that's a story for another day). I wanted to create this thread to serve as a place to discuss all things Nintendo DS. Including hardware, games, quirks, technical issues, modding, homebrew, sharing memories, and whatever else we can think of. I'd like to think that other people on this site have been similarly impacted by these consoles legacies, or at the very least have some fondness over them.

I'd be willing to buy a large lot. Moreso the handhelds, but I have quite a few PS2 games that are disc only as well so some of those would be welcome. Life Line in particular

Just picked up a DS Lite (pink, but I don't care) with one game: Nintendogs. I wasn't planning on purchasing another mobile gaming device, but it was pure impulse for $15.00. Of course it was at a Thrift Store, so I can't complain about the price at all. The game is...well, uhm...not one I usually would pick, but it's a start, if I want to pursue collecting for it. My question is: Where's a good place to get used DS games? I'm sure Ebay is an option, but where do you locally get your DS games? I know Gamestop sells them still, but they seem rather pricey (or it could be just me). Any other sources you use? I'm sure here would be another option to purchase games as well. I REALLY wasn't planning on getting a DS Lite. No, really, it wasn't even on my radar!

The mighty Nintendo DS handheld was a smashing world-wide success with over 150 million units sold since 2004. The DS is home to hundreds of fun & unique games in every genre...but in this video my friend Kinsey & I reveal some Hidden Gems or lesser known games that every DS gamer should have in their collection. What games would you like to see in Parts 2 & 3?

Hello everybody, today I have a simple question: what's your favorite mario party game: 1 through 10? Actually, its more complex than that. It would be cool to hear two answers: what is your favorite game, including biases like your first mario party, a favorite gaming party or experience, etc, as well as which game you believe is all around the best, unbiased. I personally had the most fun with Mario Party 8 because it was my first even though some other entries in the series were way better. I'm exited to hear your answers!

Hey guys, I am interested in buying a lot of gamecube games and or trading for them. I have a ton of SNES, PS3, Wii, DS, Xbox 360, and Vita games available for trade as well as an ambassador's 3ds and a dsi for offer. I sold my entire collection of my childhood gamecube games around 4 years ago but I want to repurchase a lot of the games I played during my childhood so I am interested in pretty much any game. I only kept pac man world 3 and super smash bros melee but I still need a new manual for melee if anyone has one. please message me with what you have thanks!

Hey all! I'm clearing out years of stockpiled E3 swag, promotional items, one offs and various weirdness! The link below goes to my eBay page. I've been trying to sell on there for a few weeks and some of the bigger named items have gone, but I think your average eBay user knows very little about gaming, especially gaming memorabilia. I want this stuff to go to people that'll appreciate it! I know some of the people buying have just been resellers and that's lame. Hope you guys can find stuff you're interested in! I'm putting up new stuff every weekend when I have free time, so there's more to come! http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2Fproducerethan%2Fm.html%3F_nkw%3D%26_armrs%3D1%26_ipg%3D%26_from%3D

Just wanted to let everyone know about the release of Gaming on Batteries Magazine #1. GoB Mag is a new take on the way gaming magazines present their content. We don't have columns of text, minuscule pictures of the games (or worse, very few pictures). We don't waste pages on page after page of editorials by the staff, we focus on the games and displaying them as well as we can within the confines of a page. The contents of the first issue are: Reviews: Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D on the 3DS Kid Dracula on Game Boy Virtua Tennis Challenge on Android Rayman Origins on PS Vita and the following Features: 8 Essential Game Boy Games E3 Focused on Portable Gaming I think the magazine is attractively priced at a buck for the digital and $4.99 +shipping for the print. The physical print copies use 80# Text Paper Stock, the same as the old 90's Gamefan magazine. The pages are sturdy and will hold up quite well to the deluge of ink on each page. The staff of Gaming on Batteries Magazine are: Myself, Carl Williams, my professional publishing work includes Copy Editing Classic Video Gamer Magazine (#1, #2 and #3), Managing Retro Editor for Gamefan Magazine (reboot, issue #6) and owning/operating the Gaming on Batteries website. Nick Abrams was one of the retro writers for Gamefan #6 and is co-owner with me on Gaming on Batteries. Ryan Janes and Carl Burton are our resident UK writers. Dustin Vogler is a member of the Classic L337 podcast and staff writer for GoB. Kevin Sousa is co-host of The Paranerds podcast and staff writer for GoB. Copy Editors and debuting in future issues are: Eric Bailey, better known as The Nintendo Legend. Michael Crisman, former writer for Gamefan magazine (issue #6, see a pattern yet?) Jason Fanelli, dude is all over gaming and a former writer for Gamefan magazine (nope, not issue #6 but #7 and, I believe, #. We are interested in hearing what fans think of the magazine, what they would like to see more of and what they think we did wrong. Fans can write to cwilliams@scenic7pr.com for now. Gaming on Batteries Magazine is available on Magcloud at http://www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/416376 Gaming on Batteries can also be found at http://www.gamingonbatteries.com
