i'm looking for an atari 2600 online, but i can't find anything for under 100 or 1000 dollars! are people really that greedy? is it a joke? they might as well not sell it! no one is going to pay more than 30-35$ for an atari 2600! (that's what it's actually worth) seriously! why is everything so overpriced when it comes to cheap consoles? can anyone please post me a link to where i can buy an atari 2600 forit's retail value ($15-$35) and can ship to canada, the land of beavers, hockey, and maple syrup? please. i'm desperate to play some star raiders.

There's something I need help with if anyone in the UK is able and willing. I'd like to buy this item... https://www.ebay.com...0IAAOSwCNpay2T5 ...but the seller won't ship to the US. Here's my solution: Say I buy it and have it shipped to a fellow AA member, then have them ship to me at my expense plus some extra for the trouble. It's a title I've been trying to acquire BOXED for about 10 years now. Anyone?

Don't see this everyday... Mentions cartridges, but doesn't show the front of the one that is in the pictures. And strangely doesn't show it running, with ambiguous comments about it's working condition. Has anyone seen this one in person. https://www.ebay.com/itm/222898551832?ul_noapp=true

I've noticed eBay sellers have become irritated by questions. If I ask a couple of questions about an Item, most of the time, they respond to the first one, and gloss over the others. It's like they are saying, Damn!, now I have to actually find the item, and give details. I always ask where they got the item from, and this is the one, that I can sense fumes, coming from the screen. Anyone else notice this. Any ideas?

eBay china sellers tactic to cover their mistakes ?
phoenixdownita posted a topic in Auction Central
So I ordered a GB boy colour from one of the many chinese sellers at eBay. I waited 4 weeks to receive it and when it shows up it's actually the GB boy classic (the crappy B&W one). I contact the seller telling him he sent the wrong item so please advise (btw the listing indicates buyer pays for shipping back). He proposed to refund me half the price and keep the item, he cited a supplier mishap as the culprit. I stated that he has to refund fully and that if he wants the wrong item back he should be paying the cost of shipping as they confirmed it's their mistakes. Well I receive a "order cancel" notification from eBay and obviously a full refund so why do I even open a thread? It turns out that I cannot leave any feedback to the seller as "order cancelled" literally reverts the transaction as if it never happened (I can't even see it in my purchase history). Does this little trick opens the door to sellers to "hide" some of their misdeeds? The only part that upset me a little was the "offer" to buy the wrong item at basically half price of the wanted item ..... which makes no sense to me, it seems more of a way to push unwanted inventory around at a discount, I can't even know for sure if it was done "purposefully" or really a mistake. If he proposed right away a refund I would have left positive feedback anyway, with that intermediate half-assed proposal, not so much anymore! But I won't even have the chance now. What do you think?- 17 replies

Getting tired of everything being sold as fixed price on eBay. Prices are just made up by sellers. Pricing trends are dictated by greed and stupidity. Few sellers know enough to price marketably. So here are some auctions. Pretty random vintage computing and modern gaming stuff. Shipping included (which in part dictates the starting bid). Get some deals. https://www.ebay.com/sch/ianoid/m.html?_ipg=200&_sop=10&_rdc=1

I've been hunting for a copy of Quadrun for my collection, and found this one on eBay... http://www.ebay.com/itm/QUADRUN-Atari-2600-Game-Very-Rare-Authentic-/311968497661 It claims authenticity, but the font on the cartridge label does not seem like the pics I've seen of the game. Does anyone have opinions about whether this is an original cart?

So, as a kid I used to have Frogger 2. It was one of my favorite 2600 games. At one point I think I accidentally knocked it onto the floor and stepped on it in middle school. A few weeks ago I wanted to get another copy and was discouraged by how high it was priced on ebay. I ended up finding a copy that had a really crappy label for a lot cheaper than the other offerings. It had what looked like coffee stains, tears, and a name written on it in black sharpie. Sorry about the poor image quality, it is from the original auction photo. I restored it using a rubbing alcohol wipe to remove the name (don't try this on a regular printed label it will remove the ink from that... I used it on the metallic part) a silver sharpie to make all other corrections. I then cleaned it up nicely... check out the restored version.

I am looking at a Coleco Gemini system, just the system, no controllers (although I have some), no plugs or cords, seller doesn't know if it works. He wants $39 for it. Should I buy it, is it a good price for one? I dunno on this.

okay, I saw this Amiga lightgun by actionware on ebay. It's still live: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Commodore-Amiga-Actionware-Light-Gun-Gray-Phaser-/272807926381?hash=item3f849e9a6d:g:NrAAAOSwutpZlGZK The gun looks exactly the same as my xg-1 lightgun. It even looks like there is red left from a peeled Atari sticker. Also, note the insane price (dunno... seller may just be delirious). I read somewhere that Actionware often repurposed and resold nintendo zappers with their lightgun games. I haven't seen evidence of this, but it sure as heck looks like that is what they did with the xg1 here. Now I'm wondering if the xg1 works on the Amiga and C64 or if there is some mod done to the guns. I have a c64 and I love lightgun games so having it work on another computer would be a plus. I'm also thinking... heck... maybe I should just do the mod and sell my xg1 for 120 bucks on ebay lol (okay not really but there may be others that might want to).

Early this morning I did my usual check of newly listed items in vintage computing and what appeared on my screen but an Atari 1200XL and power supply for around $100 BIN...I couldn't believe it, literally. So I spent the next five minutes looking for the catch, checking his feedback, reading the listing over and over to find out what was wrong with this deal, and of course it sold almost immediately. Doh! I felt like such an idiot; what was I thinking? Have you ever lost a super deal on something due to being overly cautious or just too slow?

I'm selling off a moderately sized lot of PC games that I came across when cleaing out my closet for a move. A friend pointed me to this forum for exposure. I hope someone here might be interested in them and give some feedback on the value of the lot. I priced it at $10 given there are nearly 30 games, but that might be too high. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 151325311962 Updated link to relisted item

Hi all, I'm currently selling my cart-only copy of Bounty Bob Strikes Back for the 5200 that I recently acquired off of a friend. I wanted to share the post with all the folks here at Atari Age in hopes of drumming up some interest in the sale. I know my initial asking price is a bit steep but I only recently found out how rare this particular game is and honestly could just really use the money right now. If you know someone who may be seriously interested, feel free to share this thread or the post itself--I greatly appreciate it! The more traffic the better, of course. Thanks all eBay Auction -- Item Number: 222582289270
