I have been collecting for the emerson arcadia and its many clone systems for about 15-20 years. This is such an interesting system to collect for as it is probably the system with the most clone systems out there. And its origin is probably one of the most mysterious. I have been documenting the clones and at last count there are 43 different versions of this system that at best was not at all popular. And the strangest thing about it is that most of the clones had their own set of the games in their own unique packaging. Many of the same games were available on multiple clones but some of them had exclusive games to that particular clone. And in the usa we only got 22 of the 55 known unique titles total that got released across all the different systems. While the games are all compatible rom wise, between the 43 versions there are 5 different cart slot pinouts....meaning not ever type can fit in every other model. To my knowledge this will be the first picture of a collection where someone has collected a unique game of every single title across all the systems. And they are all in box! And all cib except for a manual for macross by bandai...can anyone help me with that 1 piece!!! Hahaha Here is all 55 known titles pictured with the emerson ntsc model we got here in the usa. There were 41 silver box games. These were the games that worked on the models like the emerson and used the same box design format. 4 of these were made by bandai and the rest are presumed to be made by UAL- Universal Appliances Limited. There were 11 more titles that were unique to the mpt 03 and mpt 04 consoles. Then 3 more that were unique to the palladium/polybrain/trackton/mr. Altus consoles. These are the 3 in the black boxes. 1 title is lexikon - dictionary. This was an interesting game that you put smaller carts into the side of the main cart to convert english words back and forth from german. I assume they planned to make mini carts for other languages to go with it but never did. I have many more games for the various clone systems that i can hopefully document here more later. But this is particularly neat to see a complete set of every known unique title. Enjoy!

In round 6 of the Arcadia high score club, we're playing a cartridge called "Brain Quiz." I'm looking for the original source or name of the game "Maxit" on the Emerson Arcadia 2001 "Brain Quiz" cartridge. My guess is that this game was a common game on 1970s computer platforms. Can you help me to identify where this 1982 game may have originally appeared? I couldn't find any videos of anyone playing this "Maxit," so I made a video showing how the game is played and posted it to YouTube. The video was made off-the-cuff, but I think I explain the game's rules okay. The Emerson Arcadia 2001 has a cartridge called "Brain Quiz." It contains three games: "Mindbreaker," "Maxit" and "Hangman." "Maxit" is a fun one or two player game that is played for high score. Each player picks a number from a grid of 10x10 numbers. One player can move only horizontally and the other player can only move vertically. The black numbers are positive and the red numbers are negative. The game appears easy, but two players find that they must plan moves several moves ahead so that the other player doesn't get to pick the high numbers. If anyone has any ideas of the origin of "Maxit," then please let me know. Thanks! Adam

So I have an Arcadia 2001 with one game, cat trax, since I got it last year the thing will not display color on any of my crt televisions. It will display color on my 4k. Is there something I need to do on the crts? or is it not really compatible? I mean it's an arcadia, it's not the end of the world if it doesn't work on my crts, just thought I'd get some clarification on the issue. Thanks

I've been reading up on the Emerson Arcadia 2001, and I found it surprising to learn that Emerson had programmed versions of Pac-Man, Galaxian and Defender for the Emerson Arcadia 2001 but due to Atari owning the rights they were shelved apparently. Have these ever been found and dumped? Would be interesting to see what those games look and play like.

At first I had the system. Then I got games for it. The games... A whole lot of 11 games, still shrinkwrapped! (mostly. It's so old and cheap that most of it fall apart). So what is an Advision Home Arcade anyway? Well it's nothing but a French licenced version of the Emerson Arcadia 2001. A good point is that unlike most clones, it's (said to be) compatible with Emerson carts. The bad point is that Emerson carts are way more expensive than Advision carts! Strangely, the box system have the same picture on front and back. So there isn't really a front and a back. The onbox description (translated from French) : "Advision Home Arcade" "Adventure on the screen!" - The Home Arcade game system can be plugged easily on any color or black and white TV - Just introduce the cassette in the slot designed for it on the system - Game sounds will be reproduced on your TV speaker - Games handles are equipped with removeable pads (I guess that they mistranslated "joysticks") - They are linked to the system by "telephone style" cable - Each handle is fitted with 12 multifunction keys - Turn your TV in arcade game - 9V PSU provided with the system - This console can be used in a caravan, boat, car - Red light power indicator - HA2 model (probably means that HAnimex is behind that system...) - Made by and distribued by Advision France (ha, take that,Apple! For anyone wondering, this system and carts all come from Hong Kong) - Conformity to french norms is guaranteed by Advision Quite a lot of useless babble by today's standards... And weird one, too. Even if the French average customer had not great knowledge of video game system in 1982 (or it could have been out even later), at the time, only Pongs systems would have an internal speaker. Mentioning the PSU is strange too... and that line on the used of the system in a boat... WTF? I guess it come straight from Emerson's ads? A tag mention a "special price" handwritten, of 1080 (French Francs probably). If we assume that special price was put on in 1985, when French stores cleared their shelves of all game systems because of the 8 bits computer craze and the fall of US consoles, it give us a rough estimate of 280€. So, around 390US$. Well, the PS4 isn't THAT expensive after all... The system itself is pretty akin to the Emerson version. It's more rounded, there is no stupid fake wood grain, and all buttons are square. The slot shape is slightly different too. Some French version are said to have a DIN plug outputting RVB+sound. Sadly, this one doesn't. Oddly enough, one side of the box got a French game title (La fuite on the featured example), the other got the original English title. The same goes for the back of the box, which feature the English name, but a plain text description of the game (in French). Much like the Emerson carts, the Advision carts come in two flavors : tall and short. Front and end label are in English, so I suppose they are the Emerson original ones. Interestingly enough, the overlays are translated in French. Something that neither Mattel nor Colecovision did. On the other hand, they are really crude looking. I don't know if the Emerson one are as blank as those ones. As usual for the time, the notices are in black and white, but the paper is a somehow quality glossy paper. Interestingly enough, the back of the cart feature the back of the box, minus the rainbowy game title. Last but not least : I always heard that the Emerson library was made of unlicenced ripoff from famous arcade games, and less famous ones. Well, it's either wrong or just misinformation. True, games on the upper row here are copies of famous games (Cat Trax, a kind of PacMan clone, Escape is a kind of Berzek clone, and Breakout.. is Breakout). But games on the lower row are all labeled in the lower right corner "Licenced : Arcade game" and you can read under the title for each 3 "Patent by Konami Industry Co, LTD" The game title screen also feature the Konami copyright and original arcade title. Well that's it. How does it compare with the Arcadia 2001? It's a nice thing to discoved, 30 years later, games still unopened and in so mint state. Don't worry, fellow gamers. Only 3 games were spared; all of the others were opened and played a bit, and will be played more!

Good for all. My name is Hector and took almost a year infojuegos programming, a website with games information. For a few days I have begun to upload content and I'm starting with the early consoles, including Emerson Arcadia 2001. I leave the link where you can see the entries for each game as well as the videos of 37 games on my youtube channel. Website and youtube channel Hope you like. At one time I have thought about going up the covers of different clones of Arcadia, but it is very difficult to find in high quality. regards Note: Sorry for my low level of English. But I am from another country and use google traslate

Unusual question: is it possible that there was a bad batch of certain titles? The reason I ask is that I have nine unique titles and many dupes of Arcadia 2001 games. Of the nine, all of them work except Space Raiders and Space Attack. However, I have dupes of those, and the dupes don't work either! I cleaned the contacts with isopropyl alcohol and contact cleaner. Anyone else have this issue?

I recently picked up an Emerson Arcadia 2001 and a bunch of loose carts for pretty cheap. The console works except for two things that make it unplayable. The first is that the Player 1 disc/joystick acts as if it is always pushed to the right. The second is that when the Player 2 disc/joystick is depressed in any direction, the screen garbles up. I don't have any experience with this console and haven't even cracked it open yet. Do these issues sound familiar to other Arcadia owners?
