Hi guys! I am new to the forums and have recently been getting back into collecting for my Atari 2600 jr. I have the classics such as Asteroids, Space Invaders, & Defender, but have recently purchased Solaris and it has quickly become one of my all time favorites. What are your favorite 2600 games? And do you have any recommendations for games similar to Solaris? Thank you!

Hello, all. I hope you're having a good day. The Amico's special controller reminds me a lot of these two consoles. It's hard to believe both consoles came out so long ago. What is your favorite game(s) for these two wonderful machines? Why do you consider it your favorite?

Hey gang! I decided to make a poll about the "Blue Bomber". Out of all the original series Mega Man games released in nearly a quarter century span from the first in 1987 to the tenth in 2010. Which of the ten games is your favorite. Mine is a tossup between 2 and 3. But have to give the slight edge to the second installment. The music is superb, debut of passwords and energy tanks, two levels of difficulty (normal and difficult), difficult is still relatively not too hard, and some of the most innovative robot masters. 3 has some of the great features like the second and can do multiple things like jumping high (especially when falling into a hole), freezing enemies, and slow motion using controller 2. The debut of your canine companion Rush was a great feature. Help you navigate over pits, reach high places, and navigate underwater. And also his brother Protoman makes his debut. The negative though is Dr. Wily's Skull Castle was not much of a challenge and was too easy and short in my honest opinion. My vote goes for number 2 with 3 being a very very close second. Which is your favorite one in the series?

Hey gang!! I searched the forums to see if this thread has been discussed previously, but don't see anything. Which console in your collection do you enjoy the most? Your most favored? Or prized possession? For me. I have to go with the Sharp Twin Famicom. I bought it a few years ago. It was released in 1986 by Sharp Electronics in Japan as a two in one system and licensed ny Nintendo. It plays Nintendo Famicom carts and by sliding a switch underneath you can play Nintendo Famicom Disk System games. It works excellent and plays flawessley. I only have a few disk system games. Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Lost Levels), Doki Doki Panic, and Moero Twin Bee. Overall it is a fun and unique system. I always wanted one of these puppies and so happy to own one. What are your favorites everyone? :-)

There are lots of great video game systems out there. Please think about all the great systems you've played over the years and pick one from the poll which happens to be your favorite. Perhaps share a few memories in the thread below, as well as your thoughts on why you picked that system amongst all the choices.

Envision yourself as a typical teenager in 1977. It had been raining all about and your family had decided to remain home. You had been fortunate enough to own an Atari VCS/2600 and the 9 launch titles- of those titles, which would you most likely play? *Please select one single player game, and one multiplayer Personally, I would have to go with Star Ship for single player, and Indy 500 for two player

Hello, I am a new member at Atariage despite my frequently viewing the site I would like to know other's opinions on which arcade ports are best so that I have an idea of what to purchase in the future In terms of best, accuracy does not bother me too much- as long as the game is enjoyable After searching online a bit, I have become interested in the following games: Battlezone Gravitar Phoenix Ms. Pac-Man Crystal Castles Joust and of course many more =) I own a few common ones such as Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Missile Command, and Popeye- its only that I hope to expand my library with my favorite genre of games; Arcade =D I would love to hear any comments, recommendations, or any other feedback Thanks in advance

I would like to hear what is your favorite Atari 2600 game of all time? if you have more than one favorite, please, list more than one. My favorite is Activision's Freeway cartridge. It has that distinct Frogger feeling, but at a 5-lane highway with chickens. the control and game styles are fluent, love the difficulty, and I absolutely love Activision's creativity. Post a comment on what you think your favorite or favorites are, and you don't have to, but explain why you like them. thank you very much. Cody Kolbinskie- Retro gamer since 1997, collector since 1999

Well we all know some 2600 carts have an obscene amount of game variations to them. For example, the good old Combat cart has 27 variations to it and Warlords has 23 IIRC. This makes the 2600 carts an adventure to explore, since carts with multiple variations can often have awesome games hidden deep inside. Each variation can result in a vast change in gameplay and thus makes a single cart have a high replay value. Eg - In combat, you can be a tank, a bi-plane or even a jet fighter! What I would like to know is if people have their favorite variations of games and would like to list them below. Some variations may even be more entertaining than the default selection on start up. Hopefully there can be some good suggestions that even seasoned 2600 pros have overlooked.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZf6xVDxIK0 Drunken Master Paul joins me again this week to discover our Favorite Sega Genesis Shoot 'Em Up game (shmup) on the system. This involves beer, multiple arcade sticks and a willingness to kill, destroy and blow stuff up real good. Hell, let's throw an a cappella Bon Jovi song in there for good measure! Oh yeah, and the "Seaman" comment is a running joke, as I am playing that game right now on the Dreamcast… and he makes fun of me. The Bastard.
