https://www.mobygames.com/game/atari-2600/frogger-ii-threeedeep I actually bought this loose cartridge a few months ago at a local retro video game store (Stateline video games). I bought it because I really like original Frogger, and I thought the price seemed decent for a rather rare game. (AtariAge rates it a 6). I plugged it in and gave it a try, without going online and reading the manual, of course. My initial thoughts were along the lines of "Well, this is weird and unplayable. But it will be a fun cart to have." Then it put it away and didn't really touch it for a while. I always try to participate in the High Score Club on Ferg's 2600 Game by Game Podcast Discord. Frogger II was the pick for January, so I was pretty excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, it's been a pretty busy month, and I didn't get much of a chance to play. (And I was also distracted by playing Ms. Pac-Man and Montezuma's Revenge for the 5200). But as we reached the end of the month, I decided I better get some time in so I could at least participate in the Club. After reading the manual, the gameplay made a lot more sense. (When will I learn?). And after a little time getting used to how it plays, I started really enjoying it. Now I think that this a fun and challenging sequel to Frogger, that I will definitely want to get out and play again in the future. I like how falling into the water/air on the higher stages drop you to the lower stage rather than killing you. Certainly makes more sense on the "Surface level" - which is essentially the single Frogger 1 screen. I guess we assume in Frogger 1 that if you fall into the water, the submarines get you. As of right now, my high score is 3,022. Actually, I think I did slightly better than that but didn't capture a screenshot because I was thinking my high score was higher. I'm going to keep playing it until the end of the month, although I have no chance of catching the other guys in the Discord. EDIT: It's also worth noting that that the 5200, 8-bit, and PC Booter versions of this game look worth checking out. The PC Booter version supports CGA composite mode, so also worth a look.

Up for grabs SOLD! is the less common INTV System III. After the Intellivision II, Mattel Electronics was losing millions. In 1983, Mattel closed the MEL division and laid off all employees. The Intellivision brand was sold, and in 1984 the INTV System III was sold under the INTV Corp name, before being replaced by the "Super Pro System". Included in this listing is a tested and working unit with working controllers, power cord and video cable. I am including 10 games Frogger (two copies, one missing label) Pac-man (rare, missing label) Burger Time (label in mediocre shape) Super Pro Football MBA Basketball Math Fun Space Battle Mission X (1942 type game) Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack All games tested and working. I've noticed some alternate box covers for Frogger. There's the original Parker Bothers, silver cover and then there seems to be a second version that looks like the silver Atari branded copies. Did Atari acquire the rights to publish Frogger and make their own boxes? Are these just competent photoshop jobs? A few of the Atari branded ones I've seen have price stickers on them. Does anyone have an idea of what's up with that?

I always had this kinda strange (or not) Frogger Atari 2600 cartridge with a drawing of two frogs on a pond. The game is effectively Frogger, I have been playing it on my Atari 7800, and the label style match up with other Zeller cartridges from Canada. But I got this cartridge from an unknown source, but I recognize it as one of those carts that were sold very cheap along with other bootleg carts. So my question is: Is this a Zeller's game that didn't made it, a rare variant, a common bootleg cart from Hong Kong or what?

I've tested and completed my review of the latest and greatest Atari 5200 controller adapter made by Atariage member, Ikonsgr. It's essentially a bohoki-clone that enables you to use PC 15 pin controllers on the SuperSystem. In the video, I've demonstrated a good number of analog and digital PC controllers (gamepads, keypads, joysticks, steering controllers, and flight yokes) being used to effectively play 5200 games. Some of these controllers have the ability to be used as both analog and digital controllers (Makopad PC gamepad, Radio Shack gamepad, and the Vortex 3D), right-hand/left hand switching digital gamepads (Gravis PC Gamepad and the Reveal Gamepad), and there's even one which has the ability to switch between self-centering and non-self-centering ("dead-fish stick") analog joystick control. Check it out:

These plug and play consoles have all been tested and cleaned and work. They all have battery covers and clean battery compartments (no batteries included). I would like to get $3 each plus actual shipping costs. Please add $1 per transaction for paypal fees, or disregard if you use the friends/family option. I prefer to sell several at a time, but I am willing to sell just one. There is one Atari joystick and one Namco plug/play in the center of the first image that are $1 each with purchase. Both work, but the atari one is missing the battery cover and has a crack around the joystick ring, and the namco joystick makes lots of clicking/clunky noises. Contact me for shipping costs, it will ship from zipcode 45005 USPS. RED X INDICATES IT HAS SOLD

Insert Coins and let the one-two punch of arcade nostalgia hit you right in your wardrobe. ARKADO RETURNS is a follow up to my first Kickstarter campaign, ARKADO, that was sucessfully funded and delivered in 2014. Like it's former, ARKADO RETURNS is a celebration of 26 vintage arcade titles that range from the beloved to the obscure. Can you name them all? This time ARKADO RETURNS with two designs presented in both Horizontal Mode and Vertical Mode, like the arcade screen orientation of the past. Like my previous campaigns, the goal is to fund a limited edition run of this artwork on apparel and print. If successfully funded, this limited edition apparel will be made to order for the backers along side a small batch run to be sold at conventions and shows. Like ARKADO, EFEMERECO, and WINNERS DON'T DRINK DRUGS, once all these shirts have been sold, no more will be made. The tees will be silk screened with Pantone 375 C and Reflex Blue C ink onto super soft, Bella Canvas 100% Cotton Baby Blue Unisex Tees. These tees are available in size EXTRA SMALL through 4XL. $15.00 for 1 or $27.00 for 2, Free Shipping in U.S.A. Claim yours at OneRadTee.com

This Frogs (Gremlin, 1978) arcade video game shirt may be of interest to some of you. Frogs was developed in the 70s by Gremlin before they were bought by Sega. It has no relation to Frogger, developed by Konami and released by Sega in the states. A few years later, Frog Bog for the Intellivision bore a striking resemblance to Frogs. Shirt is available in tri-blend ($24) and cotton ($20). Once it's out of print in the next couple of weeks, it's done. https://videoarcade.bigcartel.com/product/frogs-shirt

These PCB's have a 'M' or 'W' on them (fabrication house - Westinghouse?). Just wanted folks general input. I haven't been on these forums in a while... All have been tested on a 2600 and work. I covered the EPROMs to save them from the light.

It's good to find somewhere dedicated to Atari and classic games in general - I had no idea this wonderful site existed! Anyway, apologies for the poor pun...and the slightly odd topic, but something pulled me back towards Frogger at the weekend. It been had years - perhaps as many as twenty - since I'd last played the game, but once I started playing, it was very difficult to stop. I was - as anyone who watches the video will see - very very bad at it. But, here's the thing...the design is so good, I really didn't mind having to endlessly retry, and as soon as I have a bit more time - probably the weekend now - I'm going to get back to it. Can anyone guide me as to where to head next? Is there anything Frogger-like that I should be aware of? I'd hugely appreciate help and guidance with my return to the classics:) Here's my dreadful Frogger skills for all to see:) https://youtu.be/cuCwfgD5-FA

These two cartridges are the Parker Brothers version of Frogger for the Atari 2600 and the Intellivision. There's a funny story behind this pic, and that is that I ordered the Atari version, accidentally got the Intellivision version, the guy sent me the Atari version, and I got to keep both.© Retro Indie Gamer 2013
