Three 10 line Games to learn programming from It's easy and fun to learn BASIC programming from typing in games, particularly if the listings are short. These three games are written in 29 lines of old-school BASIC, the kind you might have programmed your Atari 400, Apple II or TRS-80 with. The site has the quickstart guide to the SuperCharger and Atari Flashback BASIC IDE and the manual to get you up and running: If you're familiar with batari BASIC, you can use similar ASCII art graphics designers and spaces instead of line numbers.

I have just completed the final proof of the 4th set of peel & stick Intellivision cover photos. These die cut 1.9 x 2.5 inch stickers are designed to fit perfectly onto the top of standard game cartridges. This project was not without some mishaps, adjustments, & revisions. For those of you that are wanting completed sets of game labels I will be sending PMs to each of you as soon as I have them printed out. Still to do the really rare labels which will be even tougher. Thanks for all the support to everyone in this great group of people.

Now that I have a big HDD, I need to fill it with some games! Any recommendations that are download only? (I prefer physical when possible--thus won't be downloading retail releases.) I tried to download Double Dragon Neon last night but it wasn't available anymore (bummer) The Wipeout games look good... Any other strong candidates?

Around last year I was able to get a huge lot of TI-99 games. I am just now getting to them and I noticed that i couldn't find any information on some of the games. I figured i would post some pictures and all of the info I know. The first game is a version of multiplication, except it wasn't released by Texas Instruments. The next one is called Khe Sanh Guerilla War in Viet Nam. The game is on a disk, and produced by Not Polyoptics. The next game is Tower, also made by Not Polyoptics. This one is a cassette. The next one is B-1 nuclear bomber. It is a cassette. I can find Wikipedia saying it exists, but no photos. It is still sealed. finally I have Star Trap. When I looked up this game, it always states that it was made by Excltec, when mine says its made by DataBioTics Inc.. All of the other photos are games that are documented to exist, but have no pictures online. Space patrol, spy's demise, and red baron.

OK, Here's how I'm going to do this. I need to sell my Vader 2600. I don't want to, but I'm not using it and I need the money for more important things. I'm going to list it without pictures, until I see that someone is actually interested, at which point I'll add photos of everything, along with a better description of all the included accessories. I just figure, if there's no interest right off the bat, I don't feel like getting everything unpacked and taking photos while I'm dealing with these kidney stones. I'll only be able to ship to the continental US, due to shipping costs and and all the other problems that happen when shipping to another country. Now, on to the description of what I'm selling and the prices. I have a Vader that's been fully refurbished, new caps, power regulator, etc. The shell is in really nice shape, It's AV modded and has a RGB color changing power LED installed. It will come with an original power supply, AV cable, 2 refurbished Flashback joysticks, and 20 random 2600 games (no duplicates). $100 with free shipping. I also have a Wico Bat joystick, in nice condition in the original box. A set of Epyx 500xj joysticks, nice condition A rebuilt set of Paddles that work flawlessly A recently cleaned and refurbished quickshot 1 in the original box. A sealed boxed copy of Warlords for the 2600, box is mashed, but still looks decent. I also have rebuilt original CX40 joysticks or a few different aftermarket ones. I can add or substitute any of these items to the above set for an added fee. I'll be 100% honest, I'm not sure how much this stuff is worth right now, so I just guessed at prices based on the amount of money I need and how much shipping will cost for items this large. I can be flexible on the prices as long as I don't feel like I'm taking a loss. Now, if you are REALLY interested in this stuff, let me know and I'll get the pictures on here. I want to avoid ebay if at all possible, but that's my next step if I can't find a buyer here. I'd much rather deal with friends and skip paying eBay and Paypal fees. One more thing, if anyone is interested, I have a boxed Atari Flashback 4 with wireless joysticks. I'd be willing to sell or trade it. $30 with free shipping or I'll trade for repairable 2600 paddles..

Hey all, I recently got a Wico Trackball for the my TI and I was wondering what games are good for it. After doing a quick google search it doesn't seem like many people use it or at least write posts about it. I've only got to games at my house (I'm on vacation right now): TI Invaders and Parsec. I thought TI Invaders would be awful with the ball, but it actually makes the game shockingly more accurate (at least compared to the default controllers) I figured that Parsec would be amazing with the trackball given the full 2 dimensional movement (x direction and y direction) but it really isn't good. I can't move up and down fast enough in that game to dodge enemy fire. Any suggestions? I know centipede would be really fun, but apparently its pretty rare.

This question has probably been asked on here already but I thought it would be nice to start a new thread about it. What are your personal favorite 2600 games that could also be considered a hidden gem? Please try to include screenshots if you can find them, the company of manufacture and a short description (or not so short if you would like) of the game. I have two personal favorites: 1. Fast Food by Telesys: Game in which you play as a disembodied pair of lips eating up as much food as you can to gain "calories" or score as most people would call it. The food files from left to right at various speeds (some moving faster than the lips can) and you can pretty much move anywhere in the play field but watch out for the eggplants (or pink pickles as I like to call them because they have the exact same sprite as the pickle just pink colored instead of green) because if you eat 6 of them the restaurant closes (Game Over). After a certain amount of food has passed a new round starts and the food gets faster. There are various types of food as well and different foods will net more or less calories. Unlike something like stampede there is no penalty for letting food pass by you. The strategy of this game all involves the position of the lips, the closer to the left of the screen you are the easier it is to eat more food but makes it harder to dodge eggplants, and the closer you are to the right of the screen the harder it is to eat the food but easier to dodge eggplants. This game is for those who love twitch based gameplay and want to test their reaction times. This is honestly probably my favorite Atari game I've played. 2. Turmoil by 20th Century Fox: A single screen shooter in which your object is to blast as many enemy space ships as possible (I know super groundbreaking stuff for Atari 2600). While conceptually unoriginal it's the layout of this single screen that's intriguing. Instead of just being a horizontal or vertical single screen shooter you have to worry about all four cardinal directions. Your ship can move up and down along a column in the center of the screen and face left or right. On either side of this center column are seven rows stacked on top of each other in which enemies of various types will come at you one at a time per row from both the left and the right. These enemies have various properties including having different speeds, shooting projectiles, invulnerability from the front, and more. you die by get hit by a projectile or colliding with a ship passing the center row. There are also these eggs(?) that will spawn within the rows every once in a while in that can be collected for major points (this is the only time you can travel down the rows). If these eggs(?) are left uncollected for to long they'll hatch(?) into an incredibly fast frog(?) enemy that can be extremely hard to deal with, but be careful as when your in the rows because an enemy can spawn in the row your occupying and you can't shoot while in the row. This game is an amazing S.S.S. (can I coin this abbreviation or is it to silly sounding?) that is a complete far cry from the standard space invader clones the system is riddled with. The term "Hidden Gem" is pretty subjective term especially for the 2600 library (barring the obvious Black Label Atari produced games and most Activision titles) and even more so on this forum with extremely knowledgeable 2600 collectors so let's try not to get hung up on whether a title is really a hidden gem or not. I'm still fairly new to 2600 collecting so all I really want is to learn about games that don't often get brought up when discussing good Atari 2600 games. I want this to be a thread for those looking to expand their library of good Atari 2600 games to come after they have picked up the well known classics. *Couldn't find useable screenshots right now have to go but will try to post some later

Hi guys. I'm Orionsangel. I'm a life long gamer. I grew up with Atari and have had almost every console imaginable. I hung out in Arcades in the 80's. I still play games to this day even modern games. So last year I started making bezels for retro games on Mame. My idea was to bring the arcade experience at home without owning the arcade machines. Check them out. https://www.youtube.com/orionsangel Playlist - http://bit.ly/2u1Yl42 Here are some examples.

Hey all, I just acquired a side car floppy drive, but I don't have a 32k RAM expansion for it and I'm looking to mess around with assembly language. I do however have a nanoPEB. Now, as silly as this may sound, would it be possible to set up the floppy drive, AND the nanoPEB so that the nanoPEB would act as the 32K expansion, or would having the 3 emulated floppy drives and the real floppy drives make something go wrong? In addition to that, now that I have a real floppy drive, what are good floppy disk games out there? Thanks!

After 29 days (including waiting for parts) I finally restored (partially) my friends Atari 2600. It had been sitting in his Mom's closet for 25+ years and when I plugged it in, it worked like a charm. I placed a fresh coat of paint (trim) and restored his joystick with all new parts because the parts that were inside were very worn, especially the top of his joystick. I fixed and replaced much more (link provided). I gave his Atari 2600 a nice bubble bath w/ scrub (laughs) and a nice (small) moderate shine. The parts that can be washed that is. LMBO. Enclosed is a before (top) and after (bottom) photo. My friend died in 2007 from a chronic disease at age 38, thus last month his Mom sent me his Atari system as a gift. Enclosed is the entire project at the link below. Click on images for description. The story begins on photo #2. RIP Charley. PS All the games were his (I cleaned and shined them up/contacts), excluding Donkey Kong, which I purchased. https://flic.kr/s/aHsm6ZFZ3Q

If anyone interesting, I do have webpage designated for TI Basic (Extended Basic, Super Extended Basic) games. As notated on the webpage, they were programmed (typed) under an emulator called Win994A and only used for private use. Most were typed from the COMPUTE! magazines and other various books. Some games were slightly modified for graphic and sound improvements. The original creators (and sources) are mentioned in the .TXT files of these games. This is a video showcasing short play through for each game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYIwTAlHOaM This is the link of webpage: http://www.babins.org/Guy/TIgames.htm I have noticed that the link for the Win994A simulator is not showing up correctly. Any idea what has happened to this page?

Frustrated that items that are no longer available retail, are still protected by intellectual property rights, but the simple fact is I can't get any of the "dubious origin" versions of these two games to run correctly on real iron. So I'm looking to buy them from someone who was lucky enough to have them from when they WERE available. Local (Toronto Canada) is always better, but happy to pay for shipping to get these two. (and years of collection vintage tech has made me keely aware of shipping costs, so I'll suffer no sticker shock)

Hello, I'm looking for two Apple II games of my childhood. They were type-ins from an italian magazine but they were probably translated from american magazine Nibble or Incider, and I don't know the original titles. One game was about shooting with a crosshair, on a scenario with a house and a tree. One game was about moving a dot to collect other dots while avoiding floating "logs". Does anyone know them? Thanks

I'm running into a bit of a problem. I have a Sears Tele-Games Center, but I have too many games for it. They won't all fit into the slots. I saw an idea on a different thread suggesting to use a big plastic bin, but I was wondering if you guys had any other ideas. Thanks!
