I have a brand new Silver jacket which were worn by high score finalists in the 80s. it came from a London office clearout of Porter + Pocock Associates ltd 3 years ago, They where the promotion and marketing company whom made these jackets in ltd numbers. They had only 2 of these, to my knowledge i've not seen any others for auction or sold in the UK or worldwide. Does anyone have an idea of value or would someone be willing to trade for a very rare game; a few i'm after Espial CIB (NTSC or PAL) Playaround titles CIB Cosmic Commuter NIB any lab loaners ; ) anything R7 CIB + in good condition. The size is XS adult so would fit a 36" chest so small/skinny adult. (Its marked as a 38" chest but its more an XS 36 in my opinion) I wore it once for my profile pic but its brand NEW! even has a card in the pocket with care instructions from Porter + Pocock Associates. As you can see the 1983 Centipede champ is wearing the jacket with his video game Olympic style medal. Very cool to wear at a convention or for your collection, there can't be too many of these about. I would not part with the jacket for less than £100 as i've seen only 1 other in 8 years on eBay and i'm obviously not going to find another new one or perhaps even used. Most Atari games can be found again so i think i'm parting with a unique rare item. I've seen the Silver Swingstar windbreakers/bombers fetch $100 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2FNOS-Vintage-Swingster-Atari-Silver-Jacket-Youth-XL-Windbreaker-%2F390601687119%3Fpt%3DLH_DefaultDomain_0%26hash%3Ditem5af1acc04f I believe there are a few of those on eBay but not the one I have which is cooler I think, and far more rare.

OK, so maybe I'm not the most tech savvy of gamers but I should be able to download and import ROMs for Atari 2600 games, especially as I have two emulators. To be clear I CAN download and import most commercial games from back-in-the-day, with a few exceptions. Mostly a handful of games from 20th Century-Fox and SEGA. But I've had ZERO success with homebrews and WIPs. Since a user at http://highscore.com/ submitted a score for Abyss of Chernobyl: 90 Seconds I've been wanting very much to play it. I have no idea if it's getting a physical release. I hope so. A factor to consider is that I have Doxillion Plus on my PC, which I use to archive all of my ROMs. I download the ROM that I want, and extract it with Doxillion Plus into the Folder of my choice. EMU7800 Version 2.2 (Core 1.4) Once downloaded I import the ROM file into EMU7800. This emulator will import most everything from back-in-the-day, but fails when it comes to some Fox and SEGA games. Stella Version 6.0 Has a ton of ROMs already, but whenever I try to download ANY homebrews, regardless of if they're a WIP or are finished games, Doxillion Plus pops up and I get an error message that reads (as an example) The file "Abyss0.19NTSC.bas.bin" cannot be loaded because its format is not supported in Doxillion Document Converter. What is the snag, and if I purchased a Harmony Cart what steps are involved in downloading ROMs into it? Abyss of Chenobyl is a large game. 64k I believe. Does the Harmony Cart have a size limit as far as individual games are concerned? I performed a search for the Harmony Cart at the AtariAge store but couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

I like arcade games. I like the 1980s. I like movies. So one day in class, I thought, "What if I made a movie about 1980s arcade games?" And thus, High Score was born. It is set in 1982 and follows a preteen girl, Tiffany Willis, and her best friend, Dave Bryant, who live in uptown NYC and are both huge video game fanatics. Tiffany gets tons of scores on games both at the arcade at the mall and the local arcade down the street. She's a legend at the latter, always gathering up a crowd of people watching her play. She gets her Atari 2600, ColecoVision, and Intellivision fix at the game store nearby. When the arcade is holding a tournament at the end of the year, Tiffany is determined to win. So she and Dave prove they're the best by setting the high score on every arcade across their country. I am setting up my basement to be the Meril Valley Mall's arcade, and Flash Forward Arcade will be shot at, of course, Funspot. I'm writing the script and playing Tiffany! Follow the progress at PlotBot! http://www.plotbot.com/screenplays/high_score/ Questions about the film can be put in the replies! See you soon!

Game: Tapeworm System: Atari 2600/VCS/Sears Video Arcade Publisher: Spectravision Catalog Number: SA-205 Programmer: ? Cartridge Size: ? Copyright: 1982 I like to credit the programmer when I do a review, but I couldn't find out who it was through my research. Genre: Snake Controller: Joystick (Sega Game Pad Compatible) Players: 1; 2 (alternating) Rarity Rating: 3 FROM THE MANUAL Please welcome to your T.V. set our hero "SLINKY" the SPECTRA-WORM. Good OL' SLINKY loves fruit, and knows where to get it. The Trouble is, that before SLINKY can get to the fruit, he has got to eat all those fattening beans first. Every time SLINKY eats one of those beans he gets longer and longer, making it awfully tough to get around. Especially since he has got to stay in the bean patch all the time. Some time poor "SLINKY" gets all tangled up which is no good at all! And then these two villains "SPANKY" and "BEEKY" are always trying to make a meal out of "SLINKY". So, SLINKY wants you! To get your bean and fruit finding joystick of yours and help him out. "SLINKY'S" DIET Bean Apple Orange Grape Stawberry Banana BEEKY'S AND SPANKY'S DIET IS SLINKY !!! I didn't change a single word or punctuation mark. I typed every word of the above from the manual scan at Atari Mania. Every time that I typed "Slinky" all that I could think of was the TV commercial for the Slinky toy (which I had as a child. To this day I drive people crazy singing it). It’s Slinky; it’s Slinky. For fun it’s a wonderful toy. What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slinkety sound? A spring, a spring, a marvelous thing! Everyone knows it’s Slinky. It’s Slinky; it’s Slinky. For fun it’s a wonderful toy. It’s fun for a girl and a boy. But what I remember is the :30 TV Commercial. The song is even longer. FULL :60 TV COMMERCIAL FOR SLINKY Anywho, back to the task at hand, and my review of Sl..., er Tapeworm. This game isn't bad, but it does make sounds that hurt my ears. I'm talking about whenever Beeky or Spanky are on-screen. OK, I admit it. Whenever I type Spanky I think of the ancient "Our Gang" comedies, aka, "The Little Rascals." I'm old so that explains that, I think. There are 5 patches that Slinky must make his way through, eating the beans one at a time until the fruit can be reached. When he eats a bean the next one will appear. If he fails to reach the bean before the Beetle at the bottom of the screen reaches the fruit displayed on the bottom-right of the screen, more beans will appear. It's tempting to delay reaching the fruit by traveling in a circle, and if the game rewarded you by giving you bonus points for the length of his wormness once he has eaten the last bean and makes it to the fruit, it might be worth it. But it doesn't. So it isn't. Patch 3 is in the dark. The screen will light briefly (about :02 seconds) after Slinky eats a bean. If you hit the Fire button that will also light the screen for the same length of time. It's tempting to hit the Fire button repeatedly. Don't! Each time you use this feature you lose one of the beans that you've collected. Loose them all and you lose a life. SCORING The Patches appear in the following order: Apple Patch. Each bean is worth 5 points. Fruit 50 points. Orange Patch. Each bean is worth 10 points. Fruit 100 points. Grape Patch (Night). Each bean is worth 15 points. Fruit 150 points. Strawberry Patch. Each bean is worth 20 points. Fruit 200 points. Banana Patch. Each bean is worth 25 points. Fruit 250 points. With the Difficulty Switch set for A your worm is on a diet. I score fewer points this way (A Position). If it's in the manual I missed it. A bonus worm is awarded every 1,000 points, but you can only have 4 at a time. The game will allow a maximum of 30 beans per patch. Maximum Score: 9,995 points. YOUTUBE TAPEWORM PLAY VIDEO HOW TO PLAY HOME VIDEO GAMES, VOL. 2: THE HOT NEW GAMES: TAPEWORM SEGMENT (1982) I really struggled as to where to place Tapeworm in the ranking. I moved a few games in the end from how I was originally going to rank them. I originally ranked Tapeworm 7th, but figured with the sound turned way down it should rank higher. Don't get me wrong here, I like every game that I've reviewed so far to some degree, with the exception of Fire Fly. RANKING: 5 out of 8 Worm War I Demolition Herby Allia Quest (Home Brew) Naughty List (Home Brew) Tapeworm (with the sound turned down low) Bell Hopper (Home Brew) Alligator People (Prototype) Fire Fly REVIEWED GAMES IN THE DATABASE AT HIGH SCORE http://highscore.com Allia Quest Bell Hopper Demolition Herby Fire Fly Naughty List Tapeworm Worm War I OTHER GAMES PUBLISHED BY SPECTRAVISION Rarity only listed if above 5. Just thought that I would mention that my Youtube channel cessnaace is again active. Ok, so I've just uploaded one new video. I'm currently limited to the use of my Smart Phone, but it's a start. Thanks to all who have commented to my video so far. Oh, most of the old videos are still up, but I received a Copyright Strike some time back and so that video was deleted. I took the extra step of deleting all videos that had been flagged as being potential Copy Right offenders. There are still alot of videos still up though, and as I mentioned I'm back to making new ones. In this first new video I mention Atari Age and High Score, and my involvement with each.

Some members suggested that I start a separate thread for the RAIN OF TERROR high score challenge so they could post their high scores directly in the thread. So here you go. The challenge is still going at this time... Now through November 6th, the person with the highest score on RAIN OF TERROR will receive the very first physical/box version of the game!! Including… · Numbered RAIN OF TERROR box – ( serial number 0001 ) · Labeled 5 ¼ program diskette · Full color manual And as a special BONUS… ( since this is a paddle controller game after all )… the winner will also receive an actual set of Atari Paddle controllers!! (don’t worry, shipping is on us too) Of course you can play on actual Atari hardware or on an emulator ( capturing the mouse as paddle controller works great on Altirra and Atari800win), but we do want a screen shot or digital picture of your best score either way! Please post your high score here (or you can PM me with it if you don't want to post it for some reason) including screen shot or digital picture by end of November 6th. Note that there is also a similar thread on ABBUC website here. http://www.abbuc.de/community/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9004 You can post either here on Atariage or on the ABBUC thread ( or both !), I will monitor responses on both sites. GOOD LUCK !!

AtariAge and that dude who made a game some time ago present... Carol vs. The World! 2015 Championship It is Christmas time once again and the fourth annual Carol vs. The World! Championship is upon us. Throughout the entire month of December, all boys and girls--naughty or nice--will have the opportunity not only to earn bragging rights, but to win actual prizes! This year, in an effort to encourage novices and newcomers to play, we are changing things a bit. We will separate the veteran players in their own category, so that they will not compete with newer players for prizes. We hope that this will balance the contest better and make it more fair to newcomers. There will be two categories: The regular players and the special "Elite Knight Elf" for veterans players, each with their own rankings and prizes. Veterans are those who have won awards or have submitted scores higher than 1,000 points in previous competitions. Please visit the Contest Rules and FAQ pages for more details on contest rankings. All that said, there are prizes for players of all skill levels, veterans and novices alike, and many other surprises! We encourage everyone to participate, submit their score, and join in the fun! Once again, we've partnered with AtariAge to include some more great prizes! The Top Players on each rank will receive a $25.00 gift certificate for the AtariAge Store, and the Grand Prize winner will be awarded a $50.00 gift certificate. How's that for a stocking stuffer? We've also changed the top prize! At stake this year is a custom-designed, one-of-a-kind Ultimate Video Arcade Marquee. Made with the same process and materials that classic arcade cabinets use, it will look just as great on your MAME cabinet or wall. Plus, the winner gets to help design his own Christmas Carol themed artwork! Like every year before, the championship starts at Midnight (EST) on December 1st, and goes all the way until Midnight (EST) on January 1st of the new year. The rules are simple: Play the Christmas Carol game on your Intellivision® console or PC. At the end of the game, record your final score by taking a photograph or screen-shot of the game screen. This will serve as proof of your score. Announce your points to the judges by posting the image right here or sending it via e-mail to the judges at: <cvw@CarolVsGhost.com>. Be sure to include the name you want to have displayed on the leaderboard. Wash, rinse, repeat as many times as you'd like, until the contest deadline of December 31st, 2015. That's it! There's nothing to buy and no registration required. Whether you play the game cartridge on an Intellivision® console, or the ROM edition on a PC or Mac, it's all the same. Just send us a photo or screen-grab of your score and you're in! We'll post all entries to the Official CvW Leaderboard as they come in, where they forever will remain immortalized on the Internet. Will you save Christmas from the twiggy arms of the Evil Snowman? Is the Ghost Of Christmas Presents your friend or foe? Can you attain a Perfect Christmas? I am launching a web site that is a high score registry based on peer review. The site is HighScore.com. This has been a personal project (obsession) of mine over the last 4 months. I did all of the programming myself (which means it is probably going to be pretty buggy!). I need beta testers (to help me find bugs and provide feedback), and I also need to kick-start participation so that the database gets populated with scores. I am hoping that some AtariAge members will be willing to help me out. To encourage participation, I am going to offer prizes to AtariAge members who will help me with the beta. The idea behind the site is to enable average players to see how they rank relative to their peers. The site can show users how they rank in their city, state, country, and the world, and awards trophy icons (a.k.a. badges) to users who hold the highest score in their region. Users can submit scores along with photos or videos to document their accomplishment, then other site users can vote on whether or not they believe the score is legit. After the voting is finished, the user will receive any trophies they qualify for, and they will then also receive a ranking. I will purchase $50 Atari Age store gift certificates to beta participants who accomplish one of the following: 1. User holding "Worldwide" trophy for Yar's Revenge (Atari 2600), Game 1, Expert mode (A) at end of contest (no emulation) 2. User holding "Worldwide" trophy for Lady Bug (Atari 2600), Game 1 (Standard), Expert mode (A) at end of contest (no emulation) 3. User holding "Worldwide" trophy for U.F.O. (Odyssey 2) at end of contest (no emulation) 4. Most user points (user points are earned by winning trophies and voting on other user's scores) 5. Most "Worldwide" trophies held at end of contest (uncracked) 6. Most "First" trophies (given to user with the first recognized score for any game) 7. Top trophy cracker (user who cracks the most trophies held by other users) 8. Most votes cast for/against other user's scores 9. Best bug hunter: User who submits the most helpful bug reports. 10. Best feedback submissions The contest will end on 10/31/2013. There will be a total of 10 gift certificates awarded ($50 each, for a total prize pool of $500). If you want to be eligible for the contest, please register using the sign-up code "AtariAge". This will enable me to identify who the contest participants are. (Non-AtariAge members will not be eligible for the prizes.) Regardless of who wins, any member who helps me out by participating in the beta will have my sincere gratitude. Thanks

As the Carol vs. The World! championship continues, Santa has added a new twist to the challenge... Game Achievements! Achievements are small incremental goals that track your progress through the game. They can serve as additional personal challenges or provide extra bragging rights. They are completely optional, and do not really affect your chances in the competition. They're just neat to earn and brag about, and lots of fun! All your earned achievements will be shown right next to your high-score in the official Carol vs. The World! Championship leaderboard. So, head on down to the main contest web site and visit the Achievements section for more information. http://www.carolvsghost.com/cvw2013 With 27 achievements in total, how many can you earn? How do they work? Some achievements are earned automatic, meaning that they occur as you play normally. These can be inferred from the score, so submitting your high score photo as usual is sufficient. Others require that you submit proof separately. For instance, consider achievement "Santa's Magic Touch," which is earned when you reach 300 points. When you submit your normal high score entry, if the score is greater than 300 points, you will be awarded the achievement automatically. In contrast, to earn the achievement "The Perfectionist Elf," you must submit a separate photo showing proof that you got a "Perfect Level Bonus." This may or may not be your high score entry submission. For more information on achievements check out the Frequently Asked Questions page.
