  1. Mattel Test Cartridges Mattel's test cartridges were used by Mattel and others to diagnose malfunctioning Intellivision consoles. This is an attempt to document the various Mattel Test Cartridges out there. This information is likely incomplete. As folks contribute more info, this original post will be updated. Note that freewheel's "FW Diagnostics" cartridge is not listed here but is a modern homebrew test cartridge. Known Cartridges There are 7 known Mattel test cartridges. They vary by 2 things: Version of the test code Whether a game plays at the end They are: Version Displayed Successful Name Version Ending Original Label ------- --------- ---------- -------------- v1.0 <none> no game, "PASS-PASS-PASS" VIDEO TEST CARTRIDGE v1.0a V1A no game, "PASS-PASS-PASS" ? v3 V3 Baseball MTE 201 TEST CARTRIDGE v3b V3 Night Stalker ? v3.3 V3.3 blank green screen ? v4.1a V4.1 blank green screen ? v4.1b V4.1 Night Stalker ? "Version Name" is the common name given to ROM files. For example, v4.1a and v4.1b have identical testing code and only differ by whether the game Night Stalker runs at the end of successful tests. Note that v3 is also commonly called "MTE-201" but will be mostly referred to as V3 for naming consistency with the other cartridges. "Displayed Version" is shown in the lower left corner (except for v1.0). Confusing the issue of labels is that even among cartridges that are otherwise exactly identical, the printed labels vary. However, most of label variations appear to be non-original labels (ex: someone printed a new label with a name they picked) and some of these non-original labels are easy to spot. For example, in the photo below, the left label is fortunately correct but it uses a modern font that on paper with rounded corners only on the top half. Some non-original labels with different text look somewhat similar. Most of this document will use the Displayed Version to differentiate between the cartridges since the test code, not the game, is the focus. The exception is the "Video Test Cartridge" that will simply be called V1. Results on Various Systems Most of the cartridges will pass a functioning original Mattel Intellivision (includes Tandyvision One and GTE Sylvania). However, the Sears Intellivision, Intellivision II, and Tutorvisions have differences that will cause the early versions to incorrectly report a failure. The later cartridges attempt identify what system they are on and print it in the lower left corner with an "M" or "O" sometimes followed by the number "1" or "2". One exception is V3.3, which was intended to only test the Intellivision II. Oddly, it incorrectly identifies the Intellivision II as "O" rather than the expected "M" or "M2" due to a bug in the code (thanks to JoeZ for the analysis). However, it will correctly test the Intellivision II. In the table below, each system lists 3 things: What system was displayed in the lower left corner (or n/a if nothing was displayed) What tests failed, identified by letter (ex: B) What chips failed, identified by the circuit board's name of the chip (ex: U09) Version INTV 1 Results Sears Results INTV II Results ------- -------------- ------------- --------------- V1 n/a | Pass n/a | Pass n/a | Fail B, C, J | U03, U06, U09 V1A n/a | Pass n/a | Pass n/a | Fail B, C, J | U03, U06, U09 V3 n/a | Pass n/a | Fails L, M | U03, U09 n/a | Fail B, J, M | U03, U06, U09 V3.3 O | Fails B | U03 O | Fails B | U03 O | Pass V4.1 M1 | Pass O1 | Pass O2 | Pass Tutorvision results are missing from above since Lathe26's TutorPro's already damaged RCA jack broke off. Failure Codes So far, only full service manuals for V1 / V1A, and V3 (MTE-201) have been found that list failure letters (ex: V1 reports test B failed) and which chips they map to (ex: V1 identifies U9 as bad). These come from the "Sylvania Intellivision Service Manual", from the "Intellivision Service Manual", and from Papa Intellivision's "CCF10232011_00012". Both documents are attached to this post below but the relevant tables are here. V1 / V1A Failure Table V3 Failure Table V3 Failure Table (alternative) Note that Lathe26 has a "Sylvania Intellivision Service Manual" and eventually plans to scan it in color. This includes a separate addendum that apparently has never been scanned before that the covers differences from the first Intellivisions (serial numbers <4000) from later serial numbers. Acronyms IMI = Incoming Material Inspection MTE = ?? 1+7 Test Menu At the controller testing screen, if the user presses 1+7 at the same time, the user is presented with a Test Menu on the later test cartridges. It allows the user to run individual tests one at a time. This menu is operated with the right controller only. Simply type in the test's number and press Enter. Type in "00" and Enter to exit the menu. Version Test Menu ------- --------- V1 no V1A no V3 Yes V3.3 Yes V4.1 Yes There is some variation in the menus, mostly notably because the V3.3 cartridge test the Intellivision II which has slightly different chips. V3 Test Menu V3.3 Test Menu V4.1 Test Menu 2+8 Checksum Screen and Games At the controller testing screen, if the user presses 2+8 at the same time, checksums of any game code will be displayed. The checksum is displayed for all test cartridges even though only some of the test cartridges will play the game after a successful test pass. Only the later test cartridges will play a game if the tests are successful by jumping to code starting at the $5000 address range. Earlier test cartridges lack code to jump to a game, even though they will calculate the checksums. Further, there 2 slightly different ways the checksum is calculated. In all cases, the checksum is simply a 16-bit of various memory ranges. Older test carts display 2 numbers in octal format called "CART CHECKSUM LO" and "CART CHECKSUM HI". These correspond to checksums calculated for the 2K word ranges of $5000-$57FF and $5800-$5FFF, respectively. The checksum is displayed whether or not a game is present. When a game is not present, 00777774000 is displayed (the sum of 2K's worth of the value $FFFF). Newer test carts display a list of memory ranges by displaying a list of hexadecimal numbers in the left column (ex: "5" means the 4K memory range of $5000-$5FFF) and then display a checksum in octal next to it. This displays multiple memory ranges from 5xxx through Fxxx. Checksums are only displayed if code is present. These cartridges always skip 1 number in the 5xxx through Fxxx range (V3.3 skips 7xxx while V4.1 skips Cxxx). Below are the known cartridges: Version Low Chksum Hi Chksum Checksum 5 Game ------- ---------- --------- ---------- ---- v1.0 00777774000 00777774000 n/a none v1.0a 00777774000 00777774000 n/a none v3 00002371677 00003372642 n/a Baseball v3b 00001014317 00002732341 n/a Night Stalker v3.3 n/a n/a n/a none v4.1a n/a n/a n/a none v4.1b n/a n/a 00003746660 Night Stalker Note that for the 2 cartridges with Night Stalker that adding the checksum values of 00001014317 with 00002732341 results in 00003746660. Most games can be used with the test cartridges. As an experiment, the game Brickout, which was never released by Mattel, was added to each of the test cartridges. This game was chosen so the ROMs would never be confused with legitimate ROMs from real test cartridges. This game is <2K so the HI checksum is 00000000000 and the LO checksum is 00001604524. Later test cartridges also display the same 00001604524 value. The below table also shows that V1 and V1A don't play the game. Version Game Appended Low Chksum Hi Chksum Checksum 5 Game plays? ------- ------------- ---------- --------- ---------- ----------------- V1 Brickout 00001604524 00000000000 n/a No V1A Brickout 00001604524 00000000000 n/a No V3 Brickout 00001604524 00000000000 n/a Yes V3.3 Brickout n/a n/a 00001604524 Yes V4.1 Brickout n/a n/a 00001604524 Yes Using Brickout, the checksum displays are: V1, V1A, and V3 Checksum Screen V3.3 Checksum Screen V4.1 Checksum Screen Interestingly, V4.1 is compatible with the ECS and will display checksums of the ECS ROMs as well. This only occurs for the real v4.1 test cartridges. The LTO FLASH disables the ECS ROMs so a V4.1 ROM running from the LTO FLASH will not see it (likely changeable via an LTO setting). The Brickout versions of the various Test Cartridges are attached at the bottom of post. Also, a Unix Bash script is included that will compute checksums for any game or other ROMs such as from the ECS (script tested under the Cygwin shell). Memory Ranges and ECS Compatibility The test cartridges code (excluding any game code), use the following address ranges. Version Size Memory Ranges ------- ---- ---------------------------- V1 8KB $7000 - $7FFF V1A 8KB $7000 - $7FFF V3 8KB $7000 - $7FFF V3.3 16KB $4000 - $4FFF, $C000 - $CFFF V4.1 12KB $4800 - $4FFF, $C000 - $CFFF Note that only the V4.1 is compatible with the ECS. Older cartridges either conflict with the ECS's $7000-$7FFF range or with the ECS's RAM at $4000-$47FF. Cartridge Internals Some of the test cartridges have been opened up and photographed. This shows what the chip numbers and manufacturing dates were. What's interesting is that some of the cartridges show that the test code was on one chip while the game code was from same chip that was used in the normal game's cartridge. v1.0 (no game) shield is soldered onto the board, two chips are visible underneath v1.0a (no game) no photo v3 (Baseball) v3 (Night Stalker) board appears to be a standard Night Stalker board that the 994 chip was added at a later time (solder work on underside of board for 994 chip is noticeably different) v3.3 (no game) no photo v4.1a (no game) v4.1b (Night Stalker) no photo IMI Tester-MTE 100 Briefly, there is a portable Intellivision diagnostic system that enables testing individual chips. It is called the IMI Tester-MTE 100. It comes with what appears to be an MTE-201 (i.e. a V3) built into it. More information on this system is available at http://www.intvfunhouse.com/hardware/mte100/ Acknowledgement While small parts of this was from my own investigations, the vast majority of this information was many other people who scanned, photographed, dumped, and analyzed the cartridges long before my involvement. Most of this documentation stands on their shoulders. Test Carts with Brickout and Checksum Calculator.zip Sylvania Intellivision Service Manual.pdf Intellivision Service Manual - Big One.pdf
  2. I'm aware that most of you will know the games better as this cowboy from the swiss alps does. I had the idea to post a couple of experiences i made with the games i recently play often on my Intellivision. So mostly unreleased, unfinished or otherwise "crippled" games, it seems the¥ have a special treat on me. It might be just because i have to explore them and can't simply depend on a instruction/manual. That is - you guessed it right - "Space Shuttle" - (i.e) it has a very special might & magic to me. But there are a couple of others i started to fiddle around with and which i started to like much. Unlike to start with "Space Shuttle" i will start here with Number Jumble there isn't much one couldn't know about how to play this game. But it's surprisingly addictive. It's damned good imho, that's why i like to list it here. It sucks a bit in the controls for the vessels, they are very clumsy but i see that as a special hardness. The "worlds", the background art is simply great (for its time). Already this can make you curious about the game. The real fun starts at level 48. First i thought "what for do i need 48 levels of hardness?" Until i played it. Honestly im very bad in arithmetics, at least compared to my dad why would have spilled out the results faster as you can type it in a calculator. If others had a table calculator on their desk, dad had a slide ruler solve longer calculations. But he grew up in a different "galaxy" (time), in his galaxy they used to beat you with a stick when you answered wrong and it was pure self protection to be as good as possible, even better. Daddy left out a class because of his capablity in arithmetics. We no longer beat children with sticks and have to find better ways to teach them Number Jumble is one way. But it's not only educational, else it would bore me and it's by far no childrens game only, it can be quite hard, the skill of the game itself and the equations you have to solve. Recently no screenshots, because i guess you all know the game, but perhaps i post some nonetheles because the background art is really sweet. The equations in level 48 are such hard that a "idiot" like me can't solve them without a calculator, mostly at least if i see a result rightaway of course i won't need it ( [300 / 0] + 1, a division by zero seems to be a favorite, well i guess a lot of ppl will solve them wrong). Certainly you are adviced to have paper and pencil ready - not only for the children, for yourself as well. Lazy cheater as i am i use like i said a calculator, i'm a member of the first button pusher generation. It's a bit sad that they removed the scratchpad from the release on intellivision lives, it would prevent me (at least for the emulation) from using the calculator but with pretty much the same effect that i won't have to solve them. Using the calc isn't such a bad thing, it's still sportive to get faster or to recognize a easy equation of which you think afterwards why you used the calculator and didn't saw the ease of it. I posted in another thread that a young fellow (around 20) tried it out and i started to get proud of my old inty. He acted clumsy in both, moving the vessels and solving the simple equations, but somehow it fascinated this boy who otherwise stated how one could play such old crap - now he knows why, it's a sport. I didn't think i'm really good in it and at level 48 i didn't managed it to complete one level, they always bite my ass. but that is caused a bit in the very beginning i didn't understood quite proper what is ment with "house" and that it's a little crosshair looking circle i have to lookout for. After playing a level 1 game i knew what i had too look for, and could again step up to level 48, it's far more fun A tip if you like to play it and never played it or have little experience with it. Using this system i got fairly good in quite a short time managing myself through a level 48 level, still i haven't completed one. My schoolbuddy Paul was one who could use both controllers either lefthanded or righthanded the same, natively he's a lefthanded like my father was and usually they have this small advantage, in the case for my father it was very distinctive, in his "universe" it wasn't allowed to write lefthanded and thus he was trained very well using both hands in the same way. Nonetheless the meanies are as mean as they can be. They often will lurk around on the screen and suddenly... a blitz-attack. You will shout, you will argue that it's mean, i grant you! (but don't smash your console against a wall, that won't help, i'm experienced in that) but exactly this makes it so addictive, you won't believe it's true, it can't be, those damned meanies. They can follow you in a short distance but keep the gap so you might think you are safe, but as soon as you flip your vessel to shoot them down your'e past. Overall i'm surprised how a arithmetic trainer can fascinate me, if that is one from the Intellivision or even worse "Arithmetic Primer" from the infamous "Champion2711" or "Addition" from Studio II. It can be already sport to get good in "Addition", The simple and mean thing is the scoring, theoretically you can score 11 points, but it's not to reach because you would have to press the proper button right when the numbers get drawn, more as 10 pts you practically can't reach or you have telepathic skills and know the addition before it's asked, nonetheless for the 20 questions i never scored 200, my top score for "Addition" is 194, sometimes you need a little longer to recon the numbers or you will miss if you try to get faster and reach no top score. Ok, it's about "Number Jumble" i liked to post here. "Number Jumble" leaves you more time to answer and for each time unit (which is about 3 seconds i guess) your score for this equation will be lowered by 20%. (and again a fith of it which means you would theoretically never score 0 if there would be fractures of one, but we have only integers, 0.000000......1 isn't zero and is integer 1 thus i guess 1 is the lowest possible score but for this you will have to wait quite long). Of course the real fun starts with a competition, but it's really good to play as a single player sport, you like to get better and it's not to clear to me why. As much as i like shump games many leak exactly of this goal, this final addictive thing which makes you play it again and again. Number Jumble has it, as simple as it might look at first bite as hard and challenging it is at second. The levels advances quite for the four worlds you can play, each finished level will double your scoring, 1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, but in the same manner the skill will grow from a started game at level one to a final skill level of 12, which is honestly quite hard for an "Arithmetic Primer" who has to start at level 1. Of course for a grown up an addition or subtraction like "17 + 54" should be no problem, but if you think of a beginners child who has to start with "1 + 3" it's quite hard. Fairly level 1 starts very easy, but already then 0 is used quite often, "0 plus/minus 0" funny but it has it's reason. To finish a world, respectively to double the score multiplier you have to reach the "House" or better lets say "Transporter" symbol. It will beam you back to the selection screen of the beginning and double the score multiplier. Any once completed world won't double it again, you will have to play all 4 worlds to reach 8x. However you are free to choose from any world, while always only three of the possible 4 are to select from. The typing of the answers on the keypad is also something you have to get used to. Equations which are diplayed as a line, i.e. 12 + 7 you can type in naturally like you are used to from left to right, 1, 9. If the same equation is displayed as column, 12 + 9 ---- you will have to type it in from right to left 9,1, don't ask me why or what was the idea behind. fortunately you can flip the inserted numbers with any action button before you press enter. It's however a source for errors if you lose conciousness. "beep" "argh damned i forgot to flip the numbers" Like i said it's fun to play, i love the style of it and it turned out to be an addictive game. Explore it yourself if i infected you and post screenshots of it here.
  3. Hello there! Has passed a few months since my last CD releases, I've been working on many projects and now with the PRGE really close I decided to publish new soundtracks for the community. Probably you already know about my work, probably not, but now I have some exquisite news for you: A new game for the Intellivision will be revealed soon, and I got the permission of the publisher to release the soundtrack, you want to know before anyone what is the title of the game? Here's the place, order your CDs and get the info when you got your package. Albums and playlist are below: The Depth Of Nitemare Castle of Death Frankenstein Monster (with Pumpkin Master tracks as bonus!) (Unreleased game title, don't ask) *wink wink* Finally a little trivia about the music: Orders are open send your PMs. Price for the 4 albums is $60 USD (Includes free international shipping worldwide and PP fees. Add +$5 if you live in Europe) All the albums will be handmade on-demand (to lower production costs and keep the free shipping bonus/fees included), shippings will start the first week of September. Special thanks to Intellivision Revolution for the artwork of Castle Of Death, and all the Intellivision community for the support. You guys are breathtaking!
  4. Several months ago, Bill Fisher found among his stuff (in his attic), a T-Card of Space Spartans that is a build of Space Spartans at the time it was handed over to Bill and I, after Mike Minkoff had started to look at what Brian Dougherty had been developing when he left the company. As you can see (I think), there are lots of things different about this version, as well as lots of stuff which don't work at all yet. But I will let you guys draw your own conclusions. Lathe26 ripped this rom earlier this year when I was in Seattle visiting my son, so I hope it is in a format that is easily usable for the standard emulators. SpaceSpartansDougherty.zip
  5. As discussed in our Intellivisionaries Episode 5 thread a while back ( http://atariage.com/forums/topic/221183-intellivisionaries-episode-5-is-up/ ), I am looking for questions to ask Keith Robinson. All the ones already asked in that thread have been sent to him, but if anyone else has more for him, please post them in this thread, and I will make sure he gets them. I will have him in the studio next week to get answers to them, which will [hopefully] be in episode 9 toward the end of May.
  6. I know next to nothing about Intellivision so don't laugh if its obvious but why does my copy of triple action say "© Mattel Inc. 1979 USA" when Triple action was released in 1981? The board inside says 1980. Is this a case of an old cartridge shell/Board being used or something weirder?
  7. Hey all. I am struggling with the right Keyboard Hackfile needed to run with jzIntv on Windows 10. I pulled a working controller and Nurmix converter cable from my Intellivision II and connected to a Vision-Daptor. Windows does detect it, but it does not like the NE direction for some reason. When I launch jzIntv, the side buttons map to East and West direction, no keys register properly. I tried Swords and Serpents, Cloudy Mountain,Star Strike, Stunt Cycle. The keys are all jacked up. So I think that part of my problem is a bad key hackfile... Can anyone share a working version? I did try to get something from https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/5035/jzintv-intellivision-hackfile-not-working/14and http://www.intellivision.us/intvgames/interface/hackfile.cfg Thanks.
  8. Hi all. Two days ago I just finished added a hinge to my 3D model for a cartridge case for Intellivision, and it resulted really good. So I'm sharing here a link to download the model https://www.thingiverse.com/nanochess/designs It is compatible with Mattel cases, so any PCB fitting this case also fits mine. Enjoy it!

  12. Hello guys, I was checking out David Harley's website and I saw this game announced. http://www.intellivision.us/intvgames/tennis/tennis.php The game looks like the fantastic Intellivision Tennis but with 1 player option! I think that Tennis was one of the best sport games for the INTV and I always dreamed about playing it 1 player. I am wondering if anyone has played this game and if it really delivers the promise of a 1 player Intelliivision tennis. Thank you! PS By the way Super Chef Burgertime was also announced. I guess this is the Beefdrop clone that David introduced some months ago.

  15. Help! I have an Intellivision Flashback and I want to get it converted. Can anyone send me a link to someone that can provide that service? I also have an original intellivision that i would like to get modded also. Thank you one and all!
  16. SELLING ENTIRE COLLECTION FROM 1980's. I worked as a sales rep for Activision in the early 1980's and have a LOT of prototypes (14 total - 8 for 2600, 2 for 5200, 4 for Intellivision), used games in boxes (40+ and mostly Actiivision titles), a 2600 and a 400 game console and even typed original drafts of instructions for 5 games. I want to sell it ALL IN ONE LOT. According to these blogs the protos should be worth about $80 each, no idea of the value of the instruction manuals, and we all know the value of the other games and consoles (not much...). I also have two unopened, sealed ROBOT TANK by Activision for the 2600. Check out the pics. I live in San Diego and YOU will pay shipping. First $600 (plus shipping) can have it ALL, right now! Or make your best offer. and highest bidder just may get this Collection. I had trouble uploading the pics from Google so here's a link top the pics - just copy and paste... (Sorry, I am a salesman, not a tech!!!) LOL https://photos.app.goo.gl/WN5DyyNTrGApAnec7

A graphic based on Winslinator's speedrun analysis of the paths of travel in Crown of Kings (or Cloudy Mountain). The paths show the skeleton of the labyrinth with the rooms removed, revealing the basic flow of the player's movement. 18. I am selling my near complete DIGIPLAY Intellivision video game Collection. The collection of games includes 29 of the 31 DIGIPLAY games that were produced in Brazil in the 1980s. I am not getting out of collecting Intellivision. I am starting a new project and need some capital for the project so i am trying to do it without spending out of pocket. I have a few items i will be selling including DIGIPLAY items & random games. All games are boxed and complete. These games are Very hard to find by collectors. They dont come up very often. All games, manuals, and most overlays are printed in Brazilian Portuguese text. I want to sell on AA to another collector. That is my goal. If I cant come to a price with someone, i will list on Ebay... but i really would rather not. I would sell alot cheaper to someone here. PM me if interested. I will ship wordwide if need be. Games List; Demon Attack Atlantis Pitfall Happy Trails River Raid Beamrider Desafio Estelar (Dreadnaught Factor) Buzz Bombers Masters of the Universe Burgertime Astrosmash (Astrosmash shoot-out vers.) 20. I am finally back with a new video. I know it's been awhile. Today's episode is about Intellivision Prototypes. What are some of your favorite prototypes from back in the day? What is a classic game that you'd like to see released for the Intellivision?
  21. Looking for modern console carry case options. [2600, 5200, 7800, Colecovision, Intellivision, SEGA Master System 1/2 etc...] Also, console carry cases for the mini systems. I have hard shell console cases Genesis, Dreamcast, Jaguar and a couple soft shell cases. But looking at the absurd prices that some of the cases are going for (and don't get me started on shipping costs). I'm looking for more modern less expensive options like Naki G-pak cases. The older larger systems like the Colecovision are hard to find carry case options that fit the system & accessories. What do you use? Thanks
  22. My last update to jzIntv was over 7 months ago. That doesn't mean I haven't touched jzIntv. Au contraire! I've added support for ECS cassette and printer, I've extended the debugger, I've added "raw input" mode for controllers such as the Retronic USB, and so on. See below for full details. Find it here: http://spatula-city.org/~im14u2c/intv/ ________ Release notes for 2018-12-25. Updates since 2018-05-09. --------------- New features: --------------- * Added Carl Mueller's IDIV, JDIV, ISQRT. This was an oversight from long ago, and now these are added under jzintv/examples/library/. * Raw-bits mode for controller adaptors such as Retronic that can provide raw input bits from native controllers. See PDxx_BIT_x in jzintv/doc/jzintv/kbdhackfile.txt & jzintv/doc/jzintv/retronic-usb-raw.kbd. * Debugger features: (see jzintv/doc/debugger.txt for updated docs) b? lists active breakpoints t? lists active tracepoints w? lists active write-watches @? lists active read-watches ?? outputs the debugger's current status * Add "button" mode to support analog joysticks that have analog buttons that report themselves as analog axes. * Add support for saving/loading ECS cassettes and printing to the ECS printer. ---------- Changes: ---------- * Updated the NTSC and PAL palettes based on experiments with TV capture cards and eyeballing several games. (Congo Bongo is a tough one to nail.) Also, NTSC and PAL now have different palettes. * macOS builds are now 64-bit only, driven by recent changes in macOS. jzIntv should still run with OSX 10.7.x or later. * A raw semicolon ';' in a kbdhackfile now introduces a comment. To bind the semicolon event, use the word SEMICOLON. ------------------------- Cleanups and bug fixes: ------------------------- * Fix "voice_compat" in internal ROM database. It accidentally requested ECS rather than Intellivoice for known voice games. * Myriad fixes to allow compiling with MSVC, along with an MSVC Makefile. * Myriad fixes to allow compiling with Clang from Xcode. * Many waves of 'const' correctness, and occasional 'restrict' qualifiers. * Many 'sanitizer' directed fixes. * Many minor memory leaks cleaned up. * Fix event scanning to actually allow <5ms granularity. Deepened the event queue as well. * Fix JSx_BTN_28, which has been b0rken for almost 20 years. * Fix the spelling of ecs_compat, version, publisher in metadata code. * Improve handling of build/release dates in metadata. * Fix HH:MM parsing for UTC offsets in metadata. * Remove C++14-isms; restrict to C++11 as baseline. * Use modern C++ style casts and 'nullptr' rather than 0/NULL in C++ code. * Fix include guards to not use _CAPS, but rather CAPS_. * Fall back to ECS-disabled if game sets ecs_compat to "enhanced" but no ecs.bin is available. * Fix documentation for -J flag in --help info. * Only print "diagonal bias" for 4diag mode in joystick status output. ------- Misc: ------- * Experimental Emscripten build. * Experimental Termux build.
  23. Hello friends, I just picked up these carts from an Estate of a Principal Engineer that worked for Mattel in 82-84. I was wondering if you can help me identify these cartridges. All these were in a Intellivision II lot with a console that had an incredible low serial number of 00661. Thank you in advance
  24. As part of a collaborative project with game and chiptune musician @Nyuundere, I've prepared a set of remixes of his Intellivision tracks for the Intellivision game Sea Venture, released back in 2018. @Nyuundere recently released his video game soundtracks as compilation CDs, and he graciously asked me to remix the Sea Venture tracks using the Intellivision Music Track (IMT). Starting from @Nyuundere's original tracks written in a notation for the IntyBASIC music player, I converted them to the IMT format and rearranged them in interesting ways. The resulting tracks take advantage of the six channels available on an Intellivision expanded with the ECS computer module, and include all new instrument sounds and custom drums designed specifically for this project -- all beautifully played on two AY-3-8914 for maximum chiptune goodnes. There are seven remixed tracks in total in the Sea Venture Soundtrack compilation CD: Beat It - Michael Jackson Tainted Love (Mastermix) - Soft Cell Down Under - Men At Work We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister Take On Me - a-Ha Jessie's Girl - Rick Springfield Overtaken - Activision Anthology (GBA) I intend to prepare a music player ROM to share, but in the meantime, I've recorded simple videos for each track and posted them to my Vimeo channel. If you are interested in a copy of the Sea Venture Soundtrack compilation CD, you may contact @Nyuundere directly via PM. In any case, I include links to all the videos below, for your enjoyment. Sea Venture Soundtrack - The Remixes Beat It (Remix) Tainted Love Mastermix (Remix) Down Under (Remix) We're Not Gonna Take It (Remix) Take On Me (Remix) Jessie's Girl (Remix) Overtaken (Remix)
  25. Here is another Intellivision track from the collaborative project with game and chip-tune musician @Nyuundere. Tracked for the Intellivision Music Tracker, using the six channels available on an Intellivision expanded with the ECS computer module. Presenting, Twisted Sister's 1986 rock anthem, "We're Not Gonna Take It," as played by an Intellivision! Enjoy! -dZ. We're Not Gonna Take It Released by Twisted Sister in 1986. Originally tracked for IntyBASIC in three channels by @Nyuundere. Re-tracked and remixed for IMT in six channels by @DZ-Jay.
