Looking for an Intellivision ECS in good working order. No box needed. A good working power supply would be a bonus, but apparently I can get by with an Atari 1050 power supply.

Introducing Inty ECS GPS https://youtu.be/_8zZaOlPb58 Have you ever wanted to hook up your Intellivision to GPS? Now you can! The hardware setup for the Inty ECS GPS software is: Intellivision ECS GPS unit that outputs Garmin TextOut serial data, set to 1200 baud, 8N1 Cable that adapts ECS AUX to serial (Tx/Rx version) Cable wiring: ECS ECS DE-9 Signal Plug pin ------ ------ ---- Tx Tip 2 (optional, not used by Inty ECS GPS) Rx Ring 3 GND Sleeve 5 Note: the cable in the video also has internal loopback on the DE-9 for when it is plugged into a PC, but this is not relevant to connecting to the GPS hardware. This project grew out of my studying of the ECS's UART registers, which were poorly understood. As far as I know, this program demonstrates the first time in decades that anyone has read data from the AUX port into the ECS (writing out the AUX port previously known from the ECS's printer code in ROM). I eventually plan to present more formal register documentation later. For eager/curious developers, the source code here contains preliminary definitions of the registers and bit-fields. Since further research is still being done, expect some of the bit-field names to change in the future. For example, one unnamed bit field has recently been observed to change values but is still not fully understood at this time. ROM and source code provided below. Inty_ECS_GPS.zip

The interesting trend in the 70s was store-branded video games. There were store branded everything in the 70s. I posed this question asking about "linear media" on lddb.com, a laser disc website, and I knew about the Sears Beta, and later found out about the JCPenney VHS, and was wondering if there was a store brand Laser Disc or Selectavision (a format often confused with Laser Disc, but different). I used video game store brands like Sears Telegames, Sears Super Telegames, Tandy Vision, and Montgomery Ward Game System, which were respectively, Atari 2600, Intellivision, Intellivision, and Bally as examples. I don't know the logic behind it. I assume it was to keep store brand loyalty. But I assume it can backfire. If Sears was talking about the Telegames and Super Telegames, and didn't have an Atari 260 and Intellivision section, if you were from Mars, you'd say the were promoting their own brand. Kind of like what Aldi does with most of their food products. Was their marketing not to mention the brand name, and use only the store name? I understand they wanted store loyalty, but did they keep more sales they'd lose to other stores with store brands, or did they lose more sales from brand name people by browsing and seeing only store brand stuff? I'm trying to figure out whether it was a net positive to have store branding or a net negative. If you've owned any of these system during their prime, whether you were a kid, a parent, or a childless grownup at the time: Atari 2600, Intellivision, Bally Astrocade, Sears Telegames, Sears Super Telegames, Tandyvision, Montgomery Ward Game System, the question is "Have you dabbled or stayed loyal, ether out of ignorance of their intercompatibility or out of pride?" By the way, I voted no interactive media, since my first was a Colecovision, which had no store brand problems, and a Sanyo BetaCord (a name brand), and dad didn't avoid Sears for Beta tapes. I think they were branded as Sears Beta brand tapes, which he has bought before. I see them downstairs, so No for avoiding Sears Brand Beta tapes.

I have a lot of games I'm trying to get rid of so I wanted to offer them here before they end up at the game store. I may entertain cash offers but mostly looking for trades at the moment. Maybe closer to the end of the week for cash. I have my wishlist along with the other stuff in the attached link. Feel free to offer any items that aren't specifically on my wishlist, especially NES/Famicom, SNES, and PS1 games and/or accessories. Action/platformers, puzzle, and horror games are good for me. Send me a PM with any offers, and please get your offers in by Friday around 12:00 noon EST. Edit: Continental US only please https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/134tHlI07W4mDp5KlxVfEpaE6t_-P4xLgUSyQTTnA5sc/edit?usp=sharing

A bit of history about myself. My very first game console I received as a young child, somewhere in the early 1980's, was the Intellivision II, and I had a handful of games for it. I loved the thing, but it didn't last very long, I remember it conking out after only a few months of ownership. I was much too young to consider fixing it myself, and I had no understanding of how to fiddle with it to diagnose the problem. All I knew was it didn't work anymore. And that was it. That was my first foray into video game ownership. I remember 3 games in particular that I had, and they were: Horse Racing, Burgertime, and Swords and Serpents. I really enjoyed those games, I couldn't get enough of them, especially Swords and Serpents. I still have the urge to defeat the game, because I distinctly remember getting very far into it, only to get stuck and never finish the game. These are very old memories, and it is starting to give me an itch that I can only scratch in one way, and that is to buy another Intellivision II and reacquire those games. I have been running through some options online, but none of the options are really very good. The Intellivision market is pretty expensive on the console side, and the controllers have generally not held up well at all over time. I would like to have something with a video mod, but that just adds to the cost obviously. I looked into the Intellivision Flashback, and the only game of my 3 listed above on there is Horse Racing, and that's not good enough. It is an interesting option, but I'm not embarking on acquiring this console unless I can play the games I remember so fondly. Emulation is not an option for me on my computer, it doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't satisfy any urges, so that's a no go. Overall, I have not been impressed with what I've seen for sale on ebay. Most of the consoles look dirty and very used, often in bad condition, even missing controllers. Some look like soda was spilled all over. Cosmetic problems are easy to take care of, but just that kind of general mis-use tells me the owners offered no care of their own to the console, who knows what else is wrong with it you know? Basically I'm just thinking about it for now. Maybe a forum member here will have some deal in the near future that I can pounce on when the opportunity arises. Or, maybe I'll see something acceptable on the Bay.

I collect Intellivision carts with a white Intellivision Inc label placed over the original colored Mattel label...don't ask https://www.shopgoodwill.com/Item/63399513#shipping-tab-mobile I recently missed out on this ShopGoodwill auction and was hoping that someone here picked it up for reasons other than the Burgertime cart. I'd love to add it to my collection and would be willing to buy/trade for it (like maybe a complete boxed copy of Intellivision Burgertime plus a bonus game or two). Here's the pic from the auction: Again, I'm not looking for the white labeled one or the yellow labeled one. I only want the white label over the yellow label. Atari fans probably recognize this from some of the M Network games.

What we have here is my entire Intellivision collection. It’s a pretty sweet collection containing 44 games (most of which have their manuals and overlays with three that are CIB), a boxed intellivoice and an original intellivision. I got almost all of it at an estate sale about 5 years ago. I’m not a fan of the Intellivsion and I never will be. I’ve hung onto it all these years because it was a feather in my cap to own it. But, it’s just taking up space and I have no good reason to hang on to. So to prove that I'm not a hoarder... here it is looking for a home that will value it. I’m the second owner, so far as I know, and all come from a smoke free home. I originally posted this here, but after a day of being up and not a single page view, I'm not going to waste my time waiting. It's now up on ebay. Hardware Original “Model 1” Intellivision - In working condition. At some point I had it open, washed the thing out and cleaned the contacts in the controllers. Intellivoice – Comes with the original box, but no manual. Also in fine working condition. It says B-17 Bawwwwmer just fine. Two plastic game cases (see photo), each able to hold 20 games and their manuals. One has a little damage on the lid where the front tab broke off, but both have intact hinges. Games Advanced Dungeons and Dragons - Manual and overlays Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Treasures of Tarmin - Loose Cart Armor Battle - Manual and overlays Astrosmash - Manual and overlays Auto Racing - Manual and overlays Backgammon - Manual and overlays Beauty and the Beast - Manual and overlays Bowling - Manual and overlays Boxing - Manual and overlays Burger Time - Manual and overlays Centipede - Loose Cart Checkers - Manual and overlays Demon Attack - Manual and overlays Donkey Kong - Loose Cart Dragonfire - Manual and overlays Golf - Manual and overlays Horse Racing - Manual and overlays Lock ‘N’ Chase - Manual and overlays Math Fun - Manual and overlays Microsurgeon - Manual and overlays MLB Baseball - Complete in Box NASL Soccer - Manual and overlays NBA Basketball - Manual and overlays NFL Football - Manual, playbooks and overlays NHL Hockey - Manual and overlays Night Stalker - Manual and overlays Pitfall - Loose cart Poker & Blackjack – Complete in box Reversi - Manual and overlays Sea Battle - Manual and overlays Skiiing - Manual and overlays Snafu - Manual and overlays Space Armada - Manual and overlays Space Battle – Complete in box Space Hawk - Manual and overlays Star Strike - Manual and overlays Triple Action - Loose cart Tron Deadly Discs - Manual and overlays Tron Maze-A-Tron - Manual and overlays Word Fun - Manual and overlays Vectron - Loose cart Intellivoice Games Bomb Squad - Manual and overlays B-17 Bomber - Manual and overlays Space Spartans - Manual and overlays

Been a long time since I've been on the AtariAge website, but I've been a member since 2006 (according to my profile) and had been coming here much longer than that. I'm gearing up to sell some of my extra games. I've got at least 10 new/unopened Slap Shot Super Pro Hockey cartridges with manuals. I bought out the stock from a store many years back...there was apparently a shortage of boxes, so they were selling these new-with-manual in plastic baggies (see the attached picture). I'm selling these for $27.50 each, including shipping (international shipping would be at cost). I see that they've been re-released by the Blue Sky Rangers with a newly-created box for $45-50, so if you're looking to buy with box, you should definitely go with them. However, for those collectors and gamers who aren't into the boxes and would like to buy the game for a lower price, just pop me a message if you're interested. I'll get back to you within 48 hours. I'll post again when they're all spoken for. Cheers! JeffGamer

My custom Sears unit that I restored & modded w/ RGB and composite AV, plus a custom Inty arcade controller that I built using a Neo Geo X as a base & Grips03's PCB kit. I used a magic eraser to clean up the cream colored plastic, the backend was repainted, a paint pen was used to touch up the raised lettering and then the whole console was clear coated. A lot of time and work put into it all, but everything came out great!© TJW 2019

While I was looking at the intellivision service manual I noticed the sound chip has 3 outputs all tied together along with the external audio. I decided to try and put together a stereo mod to go along with my rgb mod and this is what I came up with. It seems like the three outputs are part of an internal DAC so I took the output of pin 3 and blended it into pins 4 and 38. This seemed to provide the most uniform sound output from either channel. The external audio is blended into both channels and has a 10pf capacitor to ground to eliminate hum. The two signals are then fed into a common base amplifier. Attached at the bottom you can find the audio recordings and other relevant info. Enjoy! Here is the schematic: This is a recording of the intro music from the crimson tower. The mono sample is taken from the solarfox av mod circuit. Here is the intro music to frogger. The mono sample is taken from the solarfox av mod circuit. Here is some audio from pitfall. The sound order is two log hits, jump, vine swing, then game over. Notice how only one channel is prominent in the stereo recording. Adding a jumper wire between the two emitters resulted in dual mono signals, so add either a switch or blend pot to the emitters if you like. This is the intro from b-17 bomber to demonstrate external audio. It's dual mono regardless of the emitter jumper discussed earlier. Edit - the 10pf capacitor should be 1nf stereo_mod_files.zip

Hi all. I'm about to release officially IntyBASIC v1.4.0 with new features, corrections and enhancements. But before doing it "officially" I need your help to check if your current programs compile with this new version of compiler and post here with your OK. I've been careful but I'm trying not to release version after version because small bugs Thanks! Edit: for some reason I couldn't upload the ZIP here, so find it here https://github.com/nanochess/IntyBASIC/releases/tag/1.4.0 o Tracker allows playing 8 channels of music (using ECS PSG) o Now detects failure of flow control when using GOTO to jump wrongly between procedures. o Detects wrong flow of control (GOTO to PROCEDURE or GOSUB to non-PROCEDURE) o Name mangling for assembler now uses original names, easing assembler interface. o Support for local labels (using period character before a label, uses last global label as prefix) o Added MUSIC GOSUB, MUSIC RETURN, MUSIC VOLUME and MUSIC SPEED. o Added contrib/accel.bas it shows how to move sprites by fractions of pixel (contributed by intvnut) o VOICE INIT now "shuts up" the Intellivision (contributed by intvnut) and the initializatin is done in automatic form at start of program. o FLASH INIT SIZE to choose Flash memory size. o Allows constants in DATA PACKED. o Added ON expr FAST to avoid two instructions. o Generates warnings for AND/OR/XOR and small operators non-parenthesized. o Now direct CONT1, CONT2, CONT3 and CONT4 generate 8-bit results. o Solved bug where IF CONT.B0 THEN wouldn't work, also ABS and SGN. o Compatibility with Tutorvision consoles.
