Inspired by igi's blog, I worked with a friend of mine, Kludgy, who created an open PCB design for the "6810 Doubler" for the Atari 1050 US Doubler, without the need to solder the two 6810 SRAM chips together. This allows a completely reversible installation, and less soldering steps are always appreciated by the soldering averse. Installation of the US Doubler with this PCB only requires one additional 6810 RAM chip, as the original one from a stock 1050 can be used in one of the sockets. The ROM may still need altering of the jumper positions however. I took advantage of OSH Park's "After Dark" black substrate and clear mask promotion for my first ever OSH Park order of 3 PCB's, which they arrived today. I got the pin headers and sockets soldered on, installed it in a 1050 with a US Doubler EPROM, and 2 6810 SRAM's, and I'm happy to report it works great! If anyone is interested in a US Doubler upgrade "Kit" with this fully assembled PCB, a programmed EPROM and 1 6810, express interest here and I'll tally up numbers for a potential additional run of PCB's, and figure out pricing. Hey all, VERY long time absent from the forums so don't really know much of what's been going on. Long story short life got in the way and kept me busy so I haven't had a lot of time to post or visit around the old forum haunts I've been looking at offloading a few things I don't have time to play now or the space to showcase a lot of it to the point and just starting to lose the passion I had for collections. Anyways I figured that y'all might be interested in some of it so was going to put it up here prior to sending to the 'bay. Things I have: Jaguar Base unit (unboxed but in good condition) would include standard pad and the ANT connector as well the homemade S-video/RCA av cable one member offered years ago 6 button controller (original not the reissue one) Quite a few games as well. Boxed: Attack of the Mutant Penguins, Defender 2k, Tempest 2k, Missle Command 3D, Iron Soldier 2 (cart version) Zero 5 Cybermorph (rental style case with instructions and controller overlay) Cart-only- AvP, Zool 2, Trevor McFur, Raide, Dino Dudes, I-War and Zoop Note: I'd really rather prefer to just sell as a lot though I understand return would be better if I broke them out. If interested though we can always discuss Sega Genesis Model 1 non TMSS with 2 3 button controllers and AV cable Mega Everdrive V2 Turbografx 16 Base model had been recapped when I bought it but also had an AV mod installed as well as a region switch. -Turbo Everdrive If anyone has any interest let me know otherwise may end up sending it to the Ebay

I’m working on making some new 2600 touchpads from scratch complete with custom shells. I am also working on making overlays that have the same purpose as the original touchpad overlays, to label each button so you know what you’re doing by pressing each one. I wanted something to do and thought this would be a fun project. I’m not sure how rare they are so I don’t know if anyone else would want/need one. Each touchpad will come with one overlay for the game of your choice. Once I know how many people are interested, I’ll provide an update with a price as I would like to buy all the parts at once to keep each touchpad as low priced as possible for both me and anyone who wants to buy one, and I don’t want to over- or underestimate the part costs. I will also provide picture updates as I get through the prototyping stages. If anyone knows where I can find a list of games that used the touchpad, that’d be much appreciated as it would let me know how many overlays I need to design. As far as I can tell, the link in the 2600 Archives results in a 404 so I’ll need another source. -

Antonia 4MB (800XL) or RAM 320XE/576 (130XE)

Will need to end up selling one (or both); and was wondering how much to ask (unexpected car repair + new baby in a few weeks) The Antonia is installed in a great condition 800xl which would be included. The 320XE is with covox (no pass thru), would possibly include 130xe with keyboard cup upgrade; also great condition, and UAV upgrade. Also have an Atarimax MyIDE II and SIDE2 which I could part with one if needed (would rather keep the Atarimax MyIDEII). The 800xl is my only XL system, and I have a couple 65xe's and an XEGS and 130XE, so I don't think I'd miss the 800 too bad. If you had to sell one which would you keep? With this combination of hardware; how would you maximize your money and still have a system you like? I'm leaning towards selling the XL with the SIDE2 which is the combo I'd miss the least. But I think the RAM 320XE could command a higher price, but the 130 is my favorite system (though I could live without the 320XE). I have 65XE and XEGS I could use to not have to sell the upgraded keyboard if needed, and with MyIDE II, extended RAM isn't as urgent on the XE's. Thoughts? Suggestion? Pity? Offers of copious sums of cash or prizes? Thanks guys/gals -
Update 6-24-2017: Update: I have decided to venture out into a new direction. Since the original run of cigar box joysticks have not sold well, I've decided to retire from up-cycling cigar boxes. Instead, any future controller boxes I build going forward will start with ready made woodcraft boxes and will be stained and finished prior to sale. I think it will benefit my business to move away from tobacco advertising and result in nicer finished product. I recently received a commission from for a custom Starplex controller from Sramirez2008 and the controller turned out so nice, I really didn't want to send it off. = = = = = = = = = = Introductory video: Hi guys. I am creating this thread to gauge interest to see if anybody is interested in buying homemade Cigar box joysticks. I found a supplier from a local cigar shop who sells cigar boxes for peanuts. The boxes are made from premium wood, are very sturdy, and each one is unique. I would like to convert these pretty boxes into functional joysticks to sell to the AtariAge community. Initial run will probably be about 10 or so custom joystick controllers. I haven't decided on a base price yet but the bill of materials is probably about $30 for a one button 2600 controller and goes up from there, not counting shipping. I don't work for free. I can produce the following configurations in either left or right handed variants: Atari 2600 one button Atari 2600 ambidextrous (dual fire with 7800 support) (+$10) Atari 7800 two button (+$10) "SMS Plus" (VCS, SMS, and VCS "extra button" homebrew compatible) (+$10) Starplex (+$15) Each joystick will come with a 6 foot detachable cable and black joystick knob by default. Add-ons (subject to availability) Additional 6 foot extension for 12 feet total (+$5) Hard Candy transparent or opaque joystick knobs (+$7.50) 10Hz Turbo fire switch install (for standard one button joystick and Starplex only; turbo function may not work properly on non-Atari systems that do not supply VCC to pin 7) (+$30) I will not be accepting payment for anything until the joysticks are ready to ship. Shipping will probably be around $15 domestic USA but is subject to change as I will get a final estimate later on. I may consider Canada but it will be expensive. As I use lead based solder, these joysticks are not RoHS compliant, and therefore I can not and will not ship to Europe or PAL territories. If interest is there, I may produce a small run of up to 10 joysticks in varying configurations and post them for sale here. If they sell out, I'll consider making more. ***Also be advised that these joysticks will be assembled in real used cigar boxes which were used to transport and sell cigars at retail. There may be slight cosmetic damage or imperfections to the box as the result of past handling as well as necessary modifications I must make to the box (ie drilling holes for components). Also as they were used to transport tobacco, they all have varying degrees of odor. I try to let them air out in the garage by storing them with the lids open, but the smell will not go away completely. As a non-smoker myself, I respect that certain people may have objections or sensitivities towards the scent of tobacco or incense. I do not find the odor disagreeable or overbearing but if you or a family member are sensitive to such smells, I suggest you do not buy one. There will be no refunds for "stinky joystick." Edit: I added a 6th question to the poll. Should I paint them or leave them with their original graphics intact?
