After a good wait I finally got my Game Drive the other day and am mostly happy with it. I do have some observations about it's setup and usability which I'll be bringing up in my live video review of the device this Thursday, for anyone who wants to check that out. For now though I'm persevering with putting together a rom selection I'm happy with and have found compatibility so far to be hit or miss. Here's what I've found: Original commercial releases all work fine, in .jag format, if obtained from a good source. Reboot roms all work fine with the .rom extension, with the exception of 1. Other homebrew/indie games are hit or miss, whatever the extension. ST ports are also hit or miss. Pretty sure none of the skunkboard-modded roms work which I kind of expected. Several betas/protos/demos from the goodset don't work. Besides the commercial stuff, most of the roms I'm using were downloaded from threads here on Atariage, mostly from one master thread by Cyrano. From my 'master list', (a combination of commercial, homebrew and ports), here are my current non-workers and the fault I'm getting on my PAL Jaguar. RS = red screen after first jag logo screen, BS = black screenafter first jag logo screen, UFF = unknown file format that wont boot on either mode offered: 1943 - RS Aircars - RS Arkanoid ROD - BS Asteroids - BS Badlands - RS Bionic Commando - RS Brutal Sports Football - UFF Dragon Breed - RS Escape FTPOTRM - RM Flying Shark - RS Gorf 2000 - UFF JagMarble - UFF Midnight Resistance - RS Phase Zero - UFF Project One - BS Rampage - BS Rick Dangerous 2 - BS Solomon's Key - BS Star Wars Arcade - BS Stunt Car Racer - BS Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles - BS If anyone has links to working versions of these roms or any ports or homebrew known to work then I'd love it if you could share them. My only other question is on rom naming. Some roms read the naming I've manually given them on my PC for naming consistency, but many don't and I'm not sure where the Game Drive is reading them from. Made a couple of .mrq files for some games adding my naming for consistency and it's not reading it from there it seems. rom extensions also seem to show for some roms and not others? Could options not be added to change this to user preference? Auto name reading is always problematic in my eyes, editing file names is so simple on a PC after all.

I seem to remember a youtube channel that specialized in the atari jaguar that had made some homebrew games and had a series called Jag virgins (or something like that) where they forced their friends to play jaguar games who never had before. Anyway I can't find this channel anymore, does it still exist? does anyone else even know who I'm talking about?

Hello, I've had a look around on the internet but can't seem to find anywhere that stocks replacement Jaguar controller rubbers, specifically the D-pad. Are they available or is there a substitute? I received a second controller and after cleaning, and fixing the lead, the pad requires a solid press in one direction to move. Pad rubber is at fault, verified by turning rubber 90 degrees and testing then turning again and testing. Also after supplier of known good AU, or international, aftermarket Jaguar plugpack as most online advertised plugpacks never make rated amperage. I'm currently using the original UK plugpack with an adapter and will buy a rated Meanwell adapter and change the plug as needed but would like to find out what everyone is using. Repaired lead. Hot glue gun to fill in the missing sheath. Lead then depinned and sleeved with 10mm heatshrink. -

How many consoles do you own? I am curious to see what we all have. I used to have 4 but gave one to a friend. I have 3x consoles now and 2x Jag CDs. Still....when i see them in the wild i am tempted to buy them. I may go up to 4 again soon. Also--I find certain games don't work well with certain motherboard revisions. Usually if i find a game is glitching or crashing; i try it on another Jag of mine and it will work fine. To the poll---Please don't respond "0" if you don't play Jag or have any interest in Jag. I'm trying to guage Jag gamers who use emulation vs actual console owners. Thanks!

Hi. I recently bought an Atari Jaguar of eBay. It is PAL. It seems to power on and shows a green light. But when I hook it up to the TV, I see a distorted image (what you see when you don’t insert an Atari 2600 cartridge properly) I’ve been told by someone that the console is working as it should and the image I see is caused by the PAL system being used in an NTSC country. What do you think? By the way, I am using the AV signal. Is there something I need to buy to get it working? Thank you!

Hey all! I’m a fairly new member here. Rekindled my fondness for the Jaguar last year and have gotten back into collecting big time and it’s been a blast! I’m looking at a few items on the AA Store that are cheaper here than on eBay. Curious how trustworthy the store is? I assume it’s legit, but I always get nervous buying from new places and putting my debit card info in. Anyone ever have any issues or have any insight at all into the store? Thanks!

I recognize I’m late to all of this, but is there anywhere/way to get a modded Jaguar controller for Colecovision? I recently got ahold of the SGM and a dozen or so games, love them! ...but, the standard and SAC don’t quite cut it with those games and I feel like the Jaguar controller is where Coleco would’ve went to. I’ve found a handful of pics online, but no solid contact. The below image is perfect, if it’s real. Thanks!

Hi, in in my quest to collect factory sealed copies of every Jaguar game, I picked up a sealed Team Tap in great condition. I put all of my cartridge boxes in protectors and I’d like to do the same for the Team Tap. However, it is slightly too big for a regular Jaguar cartridge box protector. Does anyone know of any protectors for other games or accessories that might work for it? Thanks.

I was thinking about various arcade/ports/systems of the Era the other day and was wondering what Jaguar games everyone thought could have made money in an arcade back then. To my knowledge actual arcade ports on the jag are: -Primal Rage -NBA Jam TE -Raiden What else do you think would have been suited from the Jags library for the arcade? I'd say off the top of my head: -All the TK games -Ultra Vortek -Power Drive Rally -Super Burnout -Val D'Isere

So I just received my shiny new Jag CD (first one I’ve ever owned!) and I’m pretty stoked about it (mostly for collector’s sake). I already know which official games I plan on picking up but I’m also curious which are the best homebrew/posthumous releases for the CD. I’ve enjoyed some of the Jaguar HB games, now it’s time to look at the CD games. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hello, (this is my first post). I recently purchased a copy of Doom. I noticed it was slightly different than the photo posted on Ebay and I'm confident it's not the one in the photo. I'm okay with that, but I want to make sure it's a real game. The box seemed a little shinier than other Jaguar boxes and I'm afriad it's a reproductions. I spent about $160 (CAN) on it so I really want it to be 100% original. Is there anything I can do to make sure it's original? Also, I was not able to test out the cartridge because I had a water leak and had to box up all my consoles while they replace the carpet.

In the Atariage database and the internet as a whole, I see people mentioning a severe bug that requires a password to patch. Hey all! So I’m loading up on stuff for my newly purchased Jag CD. I keep coming across a “Bypass Cartridge” while looking for Memory Tracks. Curious if someone can tell me what that is? You’d think it would be easy to Google but for some reason I’m not having much luck through Google or YouTube. I’m assuming it’s completely different than a Memory Track? Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks!

I only recently became aware this port existed. I seem to have missed the boat this time around, but as an avid fan and collector of the Atari Star Wars games (and Jag stuff in general), I'm VERY keen on picking up a complete copy.
