  1. It's absurd that they wouldn't release this game in the U.S. -- tonight see it yourself at 8 PM ET!
  2. Hi, I've made the decision to thin out my console collection and move over to emulation. US buyers only. Here is what's up for sale first (shipping from 27707 is included): AV Famicom. Comes with a new PSU, original AV cable, and a Japanese (short wire) dogbone controller. Asking $120. No games are included.
  3. Various good stuff I'll be sad to part with, all items are loose and without retail packaging, suggested prices not including shipping, Nintendo Bioforce Ape prototype reproduction cartridge $40 Atari Telemach 200 joystick - import with IL arcade components, switch for Amiga compatibility $85 Vectrex Control panel $80 Minestorm overlay $30 Star Castle overlay $35 Original Lightpen with all three lightpen cartridges $160 Debuzz kit and Cap kit $40 .. I also have not pictured a never assembled Rolo's Vectrex controller .. I have the lightpen game manuals but I haven't decided to include them yet Spikes Circus and Vectrex Logo PCB reissues maybe for sale. Debris Revisited maybe for sale.
  4. How do you remove the Twin Famicom AN-505 low pass filter without causing the 2C33 audio to become extremely loud?
  5. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nescape/nescape-an-escape-room-game-for-the-original-nes/ NEScape! is a new NES game being released soon by KHAN Games. It's fully developed, Kickstarter is being used to raise funds for a CIB physical release. You can also purchase the ROM for $10. Despite it using a relatively unique hardware, the ROM can be played on PowerPak and Everdrive flash cartridges, as well as recent emulators such as Mesen and FCEUX (interim builds since 2016 or so, including RetroArch). Note for full disclosure, I'm supplying the boards for this project, so I stand to make a couple bucks (literally) per cartridge order. The kickstarter page talks a little about the GTROM board the game uses. It's a particularly good board for those who are self-publishing. for it being low cost and coming preassembled and tested (512kB FlashROM, 32kB RAM). The kickstarter has less than 2 weeks remaining.
  6. Trying to get some cash together to buy some new games, so here's some stuff I'm sellin'. Best Offers are also cool with me Shipping may vary depending on where the parcel needs to be shipped to, apologies for the lack of understanding of shipping fees, I am new to this, we can calculate shipping in a PM if you'd like. Thanks guys
  7. Hey there guys and gals! I'm doing a bit of spring cleaning so I've got a few things for sale or trade. As usual to give you a reference for my reliability as a buyer and seller, you can see all the feedback I've received from selling games and related accessories on eBay over the last half a dozen or so years here: http://www.ebay.com/usr/hanz0d0g You can also find my AtariAge Marketplace User Feedback thread here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/254880-jin/ Before we get down to business, here's the usual info: All prices listed below are firm and do not include shipping costs. Shipping costs to anywhere in the United States will be calculated by based on zip code and package size/weight. All items will be shipped via USPS and delivery confirmation will be included so that you can track the package. International shipping is available upon request and will be calculated based on location. Payment is accepted via PayPal only and all sales are on a "first come first serve" basis. In other words, the first person to PM me about an item gets it! There are some things I am willing to accept in trade, and you can find the list of those items below: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stuff I'll Trade For Silpheed for Sega CD (Complete in box) Sonic CD for Sega CD (Complete in box) Metal Head for Sega 32X (Cart only, Near Mint Label) Shadow Squadron for Sega 32X (Cart only, Near Mint Label) Various Sega Genesis cartridges with near mint labels, ask for list. HD Retrovision Component Cables for Sega Genesis ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that we've got the formalities out of the way, here's what I have for sale. NES System w/ New 72-Pin Connector Up for sale here is an original model Nintendo Entertainment System. It comes with a brand new 72-pin connector installed as well as a gray Zapper light gun, copy of Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt, official Nintendo power supply, and a set of composite video cables. Everything is in perfect working order with no problems of any kind and the system is in pretty fantastic condition with no yellowing, no chips, and no cracks in casing. The only thing you'll need to get started playing NES games that isn't included in this bundle is a controller, which are widely available pretty much anywhere that sells retro games. The controller I was using with this system was a custom arcade stick upgraded with real arcade parts, which I decided to sell separately since it would have added another $60 to the price of this lot if I was to bundle it in. Price: $65 NES Games Hogan's Alley - $6 Mechanized Attack - $13 Operation Wolf - $4 Rad Racer - $5 Misc. NES Stuff A set of brand new replacement conductive pads for a Nintendo NES controller. I bought these with the intention of refurbishing an NES controller but never got around to it, so the conductive pads are still brand new in package. Price : $4 Thanks for taking the time to view my sales thread and just shoot me a PM if you're interested in buying or trading for anything!
  8. So my copy of Twinbee 3 keeps crashing in my front loader NES (lockout disabled) randomly. Maybe my adapter is bad but other games seem to work fine with it... I tested the game in my Power Joy famiclone and the game never crashed... Pretty sure I need a new adapter...
  9. Hi everyone, I am new here, and this is my first post, but I was wondering what you guys would consider the best console emulator for playing NES, SNES, Sega, and maybe PlayStation? I got an atGames Legends Flashback console from a friend for Christmas and have been enjoying NES and Sega Genesis games, but it doesn't have SNES support which is what I want mostly. I was thinking of upgrading to an all around retro game console emulator if such a thin exists. Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you, -J&C
  10. I'm so...SO happy right now. I've had this project on the backburner for over half a year, and tonight I finally got around to modding & wiring the components and mounting everything on a "test control panel". I'm happy to report: I've successfully modded an NES-04 controller into an arcade stick. Tested it with Contra, and it works perfectly. Sanwa joystick, Suzo-Happ buttons, Cherry microswitches, if anyone's curious. I'll update this thread from time to time with updates on the control panel/body design and build.
  11. There's been a new discovery and I'm here to explain how to get certain Atari 2600 and 7800 controllers to work on your Atari 5200 for a pretty reasonable price. The 2600 and 7800 controllers will only be working on 5200 games that have a single button involved in the gameplay, not two. Also, I need to point out that the games that require analog movement (ie. Breakout, Kaboom, Missile Command) can't be effectively played with the 2600 and 7800 controllers. First, you'll need the PC gameport to 5200 controller adapter (the one I have is made by fellow Atariage resident 5200 expert, bohoki, and it's a good design at a quite reasonable price). If you own one of these, you will want to get a PC joystick and/or gamepad with two buttons to go along with it (to play games which require two buttons like Defender). The schematics are available online if you choose to make one on your own. Secondly you need to buy an Atari 2600 to PC gameport controller adapter (schematic is available if you pm me). This adapter is currently made available on Ebay by ikonsgr74. Here is the current Ebay listing: http://m.ebay.com/itm/AMIGA-ATARI-AMSTRAD-COMMODORE-DB-9-PIN-JOYSTICK-ADAPTER-DB15-PIN-PC-GAME-PORT-/111807334682?nav=SEARCH The two adapters can be connected together allowing for a 2600 or 7800 controller to be put into use for games which have compatibility with digital controllers. This is going to essentially give you something kinda like a Masterplay Interface adapter, but with a couple downsides. 1) The original Atari-made 2600 joysticks, paddles, and trackballs that I've tried are incompatible. The heavy sixer CX-10 could work, though. I don't own one of those. Wico bat handle sticks are incompatible. I have 4 or 5 Atari-made/Wico-made joysticks and a single trakball and not one worked properly. 2) Even though you'd think it'd work with Genesis controllers, it's not compatible. I've been looking for a workaround but have come to the conclusion that the design of the 2600 to PC Gameport adapter is preventative for getting the power to the Genesis controller circuit that requires +5 volts (and that includes attempts to use an Edladdin Genesis to 7800 conversion cable). If you want to hear any details of my attempt to wire in an external power supply, pm me. 3) If you have a Pointmaster, Spectravideo 2 button, Quickshot 2 Deluxe, or Colecovision controller you were hoping to use, you'll be disappointed. The upsides are: 1) One controller that works and works well is the Slik Stick which is a favorite of mine. 2) it not only works with an Atari-made 7800 Proline controller, but a couple of my NES-to-7800 conversion controllers (converted NES Epyx 500xj and a converted rectangular NES controller). I figure it'll also work with the rectangular Atari-made European pad, too, but I don't have one to test out. You get single button compatibility out of all of them. 3) Sega Master System gamepads and Control Sticks work and work well for single button games. (But not the Sega Sportspad) 4) Wired controllers made for the Atari Flashback 2 system work and work well. 5) Sears Video Arcade II joysticks (not the paddle part), Gemsticks, Mindscape Power Player trigger-joysticks, Epyx 500xj, and Coleco Gemini joysticks (not the paddle part) all work great. Well, there you go. It's not exactly a Redemption adapter, but for less than $30 you can enjoy many 5200 games with a reasonably good number of controllers. I never got an opportunity to use a Masterplay Interface (or a Redemption adapter for that matter), but now I'm seeing the true value of what many have come to appreciate before me... and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg! If you're concerned about whether it's safe for your game system, I will say that nothing bad has happened to my 4 port system over the past couple months of hot swapping various controllers into the connected adapters with the 5200 on. If you haven't tried 2600/7800 compatible controllers on your 5200, you now have a great opportunity.
  12. From the album: Games and Their Stories

A huge reason why I moved away from modern gaming was to find a hobby that my brother and I could bond over. He's big into Nintendo games, so his first venture into collecting was with the NES. Our first pickups for the system were Super Mario Bros 3, and McKids. That night we cranked through McKids and had a blast doing it. I could definitely tell that after that night, my brother's interest in all periods of gaming, rather than just the 2010s, peaked.
  13. I've heard these are excellent products that cure the toaster model NES's 72-pin connector woes but I had no luck when I tried ordering from Arcade Works a couple years back. When they hadn't shipped my order after 6 months of waiting I just gave up and got a refund through PayPal, and also gave up on playing the NES for two years or so since I was tired of dealing with random game freezes from the toaster model NES's flakey connector. Now after a couple years away from it I'm interested in playing the NES again, but I sure as heck don't want to deal with random game freezes again and I'd rather not pay $150+ for a composite modded NES-101 top loader that may or may not have jail bars in the picture, so I figured I'd try my luck to see if anyone here happens to have a spare Blinking Light Win kit that they'd part with. Just shoot me a PM if you happen to have one that you'd be up for selling.
  14. I noticed one thing unusual about right handed joysticks. The Sega-made Sega Master System joystick, which has a right handed joystick, maps left-to-left, which means if you’re rapid firing the 1 button, you’re rapid firing with your middle finger if you want access to both buttons simultaneously, and boy, that is tiring. Thankfully, the Beeshu joystick for the Master System and Turbo Grafx 16 have a right-handed stick mode, AND the buttons are mapped with the main button on the index finger. (the one you press fastest) which for most games work perfectly. But I own one game for the TG-16, and know of another I might like which might a problem with, has the buttons reversed. Namely Side Arms, and possibly Pac-Land have te same problem. With a normal joypad and a Turbo Stick, and the Beeeshu Ultimate Stick when left handed, have Left shoot in Side Arms and (assuming the controls are the way I think) Left Run on the Left, and the respective rights on the right. I also own a Colecovision Tutankham and Front Line, which have a similar problem. But because the right handed mapping is Index-to-index, It’s reversed. I don’t know if the controllers are as easy as a pin swap or not. I know some machines are, some machines aren't. I also assume it’s cheaper to buy a physical pin swapper for a system that works for instead of an electronic converter, especially if one doesn’t currently exist. If a PIn-swap adapter can be made for the TurboGrafx 16 that a) is cheaper than the Tototek PS2-> TG16 adapter, and b) has less delay because there’s no processing, I’d like to purchase one, and use it with my Beeshu. But if not, I’ll use a PS2 -> TG16 adapter from Tototek and flip the buttons on my discrete input telephone operator switchboard device. By the way, I only see 2-button mapping for the TG16 on the Tototek website, I heard Street Fighter has a 6 button mode, and Forgotten Worlds has a 3 button mode. Any other "more than 2 button" games I should be aware of? And does anyone own a Tototek PS2-> TG16 or PC Engine adapter, AND a 3 button and/or a 6 button game? Also wondering if any games for a pre-Genesis system have a similar problem with righthanding the game. Especially ones where there is no software-based button swap option.
  15. All prices are in U.S, funds, but I will gladly accept the equivalent in Canadian funds. Payment by paypal. All prices included shipping to mainland U.S. and Canada by Canada Post. I will not ship to other countries within the Americas. Shipping overseas with tracking & insurances costs hundreds of dollars. I will ship overseas untracked if you pay the difference in shipping, payment is made by paypal "gift" and you want to take the risk. I've sent many packages to Europe this way and none have been lost, but it can take a couple months to arrive. Red Famicom Twin system with newer belt and NESRGB, games and Sansuii pad: $400 shipped I can add the matching Famicom Everdrive pictured below for $80 The belt was supposed to have been replaced not long before I bought the system a few years ago, but I haven't spent many hours playing FDS games using the actual disk drive. Working Disk games load fast and work flawlessly. I've already sold most of the working FDS games I had. Zelda loads side A fine, but gets Error 27 loading side B. Galaxy Odyssey loads side A fine, but gets Error 27 loading side B. I have tried the audio cassette. Kiki Kikkai works fine. Kid Icarus works fine. 16. Hey all, I know I'm new here, but since I'm phasing out most of my collection, I figured I'd post here instead of just lurking like I usually do. I don't really post much when I'm on the AA forums, but I'm a long-time and established member on the Racketboy forums if y'all want to double check me. So I've finally decided to try to make myself downsize my collection somewhat and take more a curated approach rather than my typical "hoard everything that's a video game" attitude. With that said, below I have listed the things I've decided I'm willing to part with. If you're interested in anything, shoot me a PM. My asking prices are totes negotiable though keep in mind that they ARE shipped prices. I'm a pretty laid back dude, flexible dude, so don't hesitate to shoot me an offer. No stress either way. I am also more than happy to send pictures on request. More will be added later on. I'd prefer to stick with a $20 minimum to keep shipping costs for me reasonable, but I'm willing to negotiate on that. All games are NTSC-U unless otherwise stated. Unless otherwise stated, all cartridge games are in UGCs with printed artwork. Unless otherwise stated, all TurboGrafx-16/PC-Engine games will be in 3DS cases with printed artwork. Unless otherwise stated, all handheld games except Vita, DS, and 3DS will be in 3DS cases with printed artwork (DS and 3DS games are CIB). Unless otherwise stated, all disc games are CIB. 20. A game that never made it to the NES was one featuring the California Raisins. The game was specifically titled The California Raisins: The Grape Escape. Before we go on, my fellow 80s children should remember the Raisins. If not, I'll explain. Back around 1986, the California Raisins were created by the California Raisin Advisory Board (yes, such an entity existed!) to raise awareness and sales of raisins. Many commercials ran that featured anthropomorpized raisins singing and dancing to old Motown hits like "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". The irony was that the California Raisins completely failed at boosting sales of raisins but became a merchandising phenomenon. There were comic books, toys, assorted merchandise, hit recordings and even a Saturday morning cartoon that ran for a single season in 1989. There was going to be a video game released in 1990 for the NES. It was developed by Radiance and to be published by Capcom. It was a side-scroller similar to Mega Man; you could choose to take any of the first four levels in any order but had to complete each one to advance to the fifth (and final) level. You played the raisins and had to collect music notes while shooting grape jelly beans at your enemies. This game was advertised and even reviewed in magazines so it was nearly complete. I even owned one magazine and one NES strategy guide mentioning the California Raisins game. It is a shame that the plug was pulled; this looks like a fun game. Anyone else familiar with this title?
