  1. Here we have a Nintendo 64 console bundle with console, controller, power supply, composite AV cables and one game cartridge (Star Wars Episode 1 Racer). Everything is Nintendo-branded/OEM - no cheap replacements/knock-offs here! Everything has been cleaned and tested and works great. Please see pictures below for exact condition of all items and shoot me a PM with interest. Thanks!
  2. Hey guys, I recently bought a copy of Mario cart 64. I was told it was not working but after using some isopropyl alcohol 99 percent on the pins and re-flowing all the solder points it maybe worked every 10 attempts and has now stopped entirely. The games board looks very very clean. Anyone have any ideas? Another weird part is I took all the shields off and the black cover for the pins and it worked sometimes and not others. Now it just seems to not work at all.

I am looking to buy an N-64. Drop me a line if you have one you'd like to part with. Anthony
  4. The Nintendo 64 launched in North America 25 years ago today. Anyone have any good game recs? Now, no disrespect intended, because back in those days I was a huge PlayStation fan and I remember playing games like Twisted Metal 1-4, Castlevania: SOTN, All the Resident Evil and Wipeout games, Actual Platformers like the GEX and Pandemonium games, plus a host of RPGS like LUNAR, Arc the Lad, Final Fantasy, and the Suikoden series, Breath of Fire III, Legend of Dragoon, etc., and tons of Arcade ports...again, all on my Mighty PlayStation! So when the N64 launched I did not get one...Always figured I'd get one later; Much later as it turns out. Looking it up, I got one in 2009. ($91.50 with shipping for an N64, 3 controllers and 8 games in case anyone wondered). Then I bought even more games. I had some fun in the past, but ya know, without opening the box, I don't even remember what color it is haha. I know I had fun with Zelda, Mario Kart, and Mario 64. And I know Donkey Kong in 3D was Not a good idea, since Donkey Kong from 1981 was just a lot more fun (IMHO). And nowadays I do have an Everdrive so probably kind of have all the games, but I was looking for game recommendations from people who've played the system a lot more than me. Feel free to throw in memories from Back in the Day...
  5. Edit: whoops, meant to put this in the "Free" section. If an admin wouldn't mind moving it, I'd appreciate it... Anyone interested in a Robotron 64 reproduction case? I purchased the game cart a while back and it came with this repro case but I don't collect N64 boxes so I'm looking to unload it for free 99. Just pay shipping. Shoot me a PM with interest. Thanks. CLAIMED!
  6. From the album: Digital Illustrations

    An ugly, but iconic, console.
  7. I'm selling my personal collection of Nintendo (NES), Super Nintendo (SNES), Nintendo 64 (N64), and Gamboy Advance games. They have all been tested, and have never been stored in extreme temperatures. All my auctions start at $1. I have auctions ending every couple minutes on Sunday so you'll be able to bid until the last second on any you're interested in. Even if you already have some of the games I'm offering there is a good chance that my copy could be in better condition than the one you have because some of these were purchased by my family and I over 30 years ago and have not traded hands many times like a lot have. I do combine shipping! I'm selling my video game collection due to having some extra time during the pandemic. I really enjoyed cleaning up these games and would like to use the money from these auctions toward other games I can restore and recondition. Bidding on my auctions means that you're helping preserve video games while also putting me in a position to take this to the next level. I have made sure to get these games in the best condition I could prior to listing them. I spent several hours cleaning up these game cartridges and getting every bit of blemish off of them so that you don't have to. I understand that the reason some games sell for more is because of how good of condition they're in, and I went to great lengths to get these in the shape they are in. I have auctions ending every couple minutes on Sunday so you'll be able to bid until the last second on any you're interested in. Below is a direct URL to my eBay page. Thanks for looking! 10. I recently started paying more attention to my Nintendo 64 collection. I had a bunch of games that I bought with with system years ago, but I recently found out I can get some games for pretty cheap where I live. So before the local market changes, as it often does, I'll get as many N64 games as I can. At this point, I pretty much know what to look for: racing games, Mario, Zelda, Super Smash Bros. and some of those rare and elusive titles everyone pretty much knows about, but even if I have some experience with N64 games because I used to play a lot of ROMs on an emulator growing up, there are a lot of games I might not know about. I recently watched a video about Chameleon Twist 1 and 2 from My Life in Gaming and I'm definitely getting those because they look pretty good even if they didn't get glowing reviews back in the day. Also, I'm super excited because I just got a copy of International Superstar Soccer 2000 which can be quite expensive. Maybe I can get another cheap copy for the purposes of trading... I have to say I just have around 15 titles and none of them are extremely special, so I won't bore you with a list. But is there anything I might be missing from? Maybe a bunch of games that were ignored back in the day because the critics weren't very kind or something that arrived late in the system's life cycle? Thanks!
  11. I'd like to get at least an N64 game this month and I have some options. To make a long story short, I own a Nintendo 64 that I bought from my cousin years and years ago fro pretty much nothing. These are the games that came with the system: Super Mario 64, Bomberman 64, Quake 2, Automobili Lamborghini, Chopper Attack, ISS 98, Duke Nukem 64, Space Station Silicon Valley, Star Wars Shadow of the Empire and Turok. Some of the options I have include in my immediate wish-list include Diddy Kong Racing, Mickey's Speedway USA and Pokemon Snap. Am I missing something? I don't know that many Nintendo 64 games because everything that I played was on emulators more than a decade ago and I just focused on Super Smash Bros. and the Zelda games that are hard to come by here and extremely expensive. Also, a copy of ISS 2000 recently surfaced, I thought that game was one of the rarest of the system and the seller is offering for not that much (around $34 to be more specific). Should I go for it? Is that game that rare? Thanks in advance!
  12. I'm over 80% of the way to a complete set!
  13. Tested and working. In very good condition. Has native support in emulators like Project64 and OpenEmu, so no need for configuration. No drivers needed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Adaptoid-Nintendo-64-controller-to-PC-adapter-Wish-Technologies-Wishtech/323802247670
  14. Around ten years ago, I got a Nintendo 64 for pretty much nothing. It came with a bunch of games and that afternoon, me and my cousin had a lot of fun playing Quake 2 and Super Mario 64. But as soon as I took it home and spent more time with it, I noticed that the joystick were pretty much broken and you really need to push them for them to work. I'm aware now that that's a common problem with those controllers (that a lot of people hate and a lot of people swear by,) but is there any way to fix them? I remember opening them up with my dad, cleaning every part, trying to figure out what was wrong with them and so on. That took hours and they're still pretty much unusable. I know there are replacement parts on eBay, but I also know that they are pretty poor quality and suck. Should I get one of those anyway? Should I clean them again? Should I get "new" ones? Anyone who has some experience with them and is willing to help let me know what you think. Thanks!
  15. A few years ago, I got a Nintendo 64 with a bunch of games and the transfer pak. The accessory was part of the Pokemon Stadium bundle and I recently discovered that you could use the transfer pak to transfer your monsters to the N64 game, but also to play Pokemon Yellow, Red and Blue. I was wondering if that's a good way to experience those games on the big screen, since tracking down copies of Pokemon Stadium and any of the Game Boy games is going to be an expensive proposition for me. I know the N64 resolution is quite low and I don't know how its controller handles a traditional Pokemon, so does any of you have any experience with this? Is it worth adding those games to my collection so that I can play Pokemon on a big CRT? Or do you think that's just a waste of money? Any resources that you can throw my way will be greatly appreciated since the only thing I've found was a video on "My Life as Gaming". Thanks in advance!
  16. It's been twenty years since Bomberman Hero came out, and I think it was high time to start a N64 Bomberman-related thread. Discuss Bomberman 64, Bomberman Hero, Second Attack, and the JP Bomberman 64.
  17. About a year ago I got the UltraHDMI kit installed in a N64, which does some things few other mods like this do like capturing video as digital RGB, optionally adding processing like scanlines and crop/fill, producing up to 1080p HDMI output with digital audio. Plus it's anti-blurring process is something that needs to be seen to be believed! This my review of the kit and whether I think it's worth the high cost. As a side note, I love how you can output SD video through the normal AV port at the same time, which allowed me to capture both in real time and make this exact comparison possible!
  18. The Nintendo 64 is, despite it's flaws, one of the greatest systems ever made. It bridged the gap for Nintendo from 2D to 3D, and was the last cartridge based home console until the release of the Switch earlier this year. The "Fun Machine" was just that. A true four-player local multiplayer machine, it was the last bastion of the "pre-online" console world, where local play was the goal, the more friends the better. Many would say the N64 graphics haven't aged well, that the games look "ugly." I disagree. It's no uglier than PS1 or Saturn in my book. Yes third party titles that were rushed and have minimal textures with maximum fogging don't look great these days, but many titles by Rare and Nintendo have really stood the test of time and look great to this day. Much has been happening with the N64 in recent years, including: -Some homebrew and hack/port action -RGB and HDMI modding for greater picture clarity and quality -An excellent Everdrive with a built in NES emulator -Custom system art, case modding, and LED modding -New gamecube "ball" style joysticks to replace the aging and deteriorating stock sticks The NES may have been my childhood system, but the N64 was my teen year "coming of age" system, and it will always hold a fond place in my heart as a result. For those of you that lived under a rock, here is a recap of 20 games that defined the system: Where to pick up and N64 everdrive: http://www.stoneagegamer.com/flash-carts/everdrive64-nintendo-64/cartridges/ RGB Mods: PM Yurkie on AA HDMI Mods: https://www.facebook.com/mobiusstriptech/?pnref=lhc, Also: http://www.retrofixes.com/ with more challenging availability Where to pick up the new Joysticks: https://www.amazon.com/Redesigned-REPLACEMENT-Joystick-Controller-Thumbstick/dp/B009MRZAUC/ref=sr_1_3?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1500479935&sr=1-3&keywords=n64+joystick Please post all your info, finds, memories, and news on the amazing N64 here.
  19. Indie games right next to AAA titles at Target? Wild.
  20. Trying to complete my N64 collection - but these two set me back quite a bit!
  21. I have an old Nintendo 64 that my wife enjoys playing. It's a good party console because everybody remembers it and can have a little nostalgia, so I have it hooked up to my big screen HDTV. Recently I got a new Vizio TV, and started to have problems. My Vizio is one of those TVs that only have Component (Y/Pb/Pr) jacks, with the green jack (Y) doubling as the Composite jack (Sucker has 5 HDMI ports...seems a shame I cant take advantage of it since my A/V receiver has 6...). So, plugging the N64 in, I can't get a picture to show up, with most cartridges, in most situations. Audio comes in fine, so I know the console is running, and it works on one of my older TVs just fine. I read online sometimes those expansion paks go bad, thinking that was the problem, I was about to spring for a new one...except the audio worked so I was stumped. So I try different cartridges, and I get the weirdest results from Star Wars Episode I Racer. It's one of those that can take advantage of the Expansion Pak's extra memory thru a menu option, but it's not required for playing. So the N64 would start, I could hear the audio but no picture. Then suddenly, the menu demo video shows up! I hit a button, and as soon as it goes back to the main menu, no picture again. I start hitting buttons blindly, and get farther into the race, when the race starts video shows up again and I can race! So I'm thinking, I'll turn off the hi-res graphics to see if it affects anything, I did, same results. So now I'm searching the internet, letting it cycle from black screen to video, then suddenly I see the main menu, only it's in black and white. And then, when it cuts to the menu demo video, it remains in black and white, along with the rest of the game till a reset. If I leave it long enough, it will revert from black menu screen/full color video, to black & white menu screen/black & white video. None of my other games show up at all, no matter how blindly far I can get thru the menus. I know about all the video signal stuff, how component has luminance on the green channel and putting a composite input on it will show black & white like that, but if it shares jacks, why isn't my TV smart enough to to figure it out (or just give me the option to choose...). My gamecube renders perfectly with no issues on the composite cable. So my ideas...perhaps the signal from the N64 is too weak and the TV thinks it's actually a component signal? Anything I can do to fix it? Or maybe something actually is bad with the console?
