  1. When you get games this cheap, can any of them be any good?
  2. A much needed distraction today.

  4. Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Buying Guide and game recommendations for new console collectors! Games shown: Super Mario Bros. 3 Tetris The Legend of Zelda Contra Super Dodge Ball Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse Mike Tyson's Punch Out TMNT II: The Arcade Game Final Fantasy Bubble Bobble Excitebike Metroid What other NES games would you recommend for 1st time collectors?
  5. So this is a computer game and its called The Next Game Master. I just wanted to get fellow retro gamers feedback on this. I am in the process of coding it now and its a little more than half way done. Using a combination of NES, SNES, and Genesis ROMS & Emulators, it is a game for up to 8 players with 6 Rounds of challenges and then a final gauntlet round. Throughout these 6 rounds, you need to win challenges to earn points. After 6 rounds, points are tallied and the players are entered into a Gauntlet, with the first place player playing last. Here is a video of how it works for the most part: ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 1: "I" in Team 2 Players play with AND/OR against each other to earn up to 3 points After the points are awarded, the scoreboard comes up ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 2: Challenger 2 players play the same game individually to see who scores more points in it. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 3: Boss Fight Eeach player plays their own game to see if they can defeat the boss. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 4: Head 2 Head 2 players compete simultaneously in a coop game where the one with the most points at the end will earn points. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 5: Survival players play their own game to see if they can beat a certain level. ROUND TRIVIA QUESTION Round 6: Versus players compete 1 on 1 in a fighting game Gauntlet Round: Points are then tallied and ranked and the Gauntlet ROund begins. THe lower ranked players must defeat the next highest player to keep moving up until they play the #1 ranked player. Then in a Best of 5 Series of challenges, players compete in challenges to finally determine who is the Next Game Master! I played this with a group of friends and they loved it. Again, I just wanted to put this out there and see what you all think!
  6. Hi everyone, I just got a used copy of Pokemon: Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS and when I launch the game it's in Spanish. Thing is, everything in the game is in English (box, cart, manuals, AR cards and so on.) In fact, the cartridge is for US 3DS consoles and mine's from over there. I assume I need to delete the save that's in there and maybe I get the option to select a language from withing the game? Or maybe the game's in Spanish and I'm stuck with it until I'm done with it? I have no idea, so if anyone knows the answer to this question, I'd really appreciate it since it would save me a ton of time. Thanks!
  7. I recently finished a project where I had to gut these from new aftermarket controllers. These function with the Nintendo entertainment system. These would serve as direct replacement in an old worn out NES controller and work great. I have about 19 of them. PM me if you want all or one of them.
  8. Here are some pictures of my game room. Took about two years to complete from start to finish. I built it up from scratch, framing the walls, running electricity, etc. Hope you guys enjoy.
  9. Flashboy for virtual boy and Amstrad GX4000 flash cart wanted. Any condition. Just as long as they work. Based in UK. Would be really grateful. I need to get some more play time from these consoles.
  10. Today I just want to ask what everyone's favorite game of 2015 was. It can be a next gen console game, Steam game, homebrew title, or anything else you can think of. My favorite was Undertale (on Steam). It's a retro styled RPG that does it all: it's original, difficult but not too hard, has amazing replay value, hilarious, has a deep story, amazing music (you telling me you haven't seen the million hopes and dreams remixes on youtube), and best of all is only $10! Rant away!
  11. In the following link you'll see photos of what is alleged to be the controller for Nintendo's NX console. It looks like what Nintendo patented several months ago. Personally, I hope its a really good fake. I'm holding off on a Wii U for this bad boy. http://dualpixels.com/2016/03/17/dual-pixels-exclusive-nintendo-nx-controller-leaked-photos/
  12. I had bought a Twin Famicom off of ebay a month or so ago. I had been waiting for a disk card game to come in for over a month from Japan. Today I hooked up the system, flipped the switch to the disk side, inserted the game. The system says loading but all I hear is a buzzing noise and the game never loads. Could the belt need to be changed? The cartridge games work fine. Any help would be appreciated.
  13. Anybody have any tabletop kiosks preferably for a handheld game system for a reasonable price including shipping, us only
  14. Just wondering, those famiclone controllers come in many sizes, shapes and configurations. A few of them are very comfortable as they mimic a Playstation controller. Would there be any way to convert their Sega Genesis style plugs to use them in a real NES or Famicom console?
  15. Just in case you have not seen already the 3D homebrew game Hyper Fighting for the Nintendo Virtual Boy: http://youtu.be/nW8lPCNEFGc
  16. Kinsey is BACK with a stack of Nintendo 64 Hidden Gems for you game collectors! Games Shown: Mischief Makers Goemon’s Great Adventure Pokemon Puzzle League Beetle Adventure Racing Blast Corps Snowboard Kids Robotron 64 BustaMove 2 What games should be in Part 2?
  17. Why do 16-bit light guns look so ridiculous? SNES Super Scope: Sega Menacer: Compared to these 8-bit offerings: Famicom Revolver: NES Gray Zapper: NES Orange Zapper: SMS Light Phaser: Atari XG-1: I mean, I can understand that in the 90s, video game and toy makers were pressured to make guns look unrealistic as possible, but come on, the Super Scope and Menacer just look absolutely ridiculous. Even later gen systems like the PS1 Namco Guncon look normal in comparison. What's worse, with all the modular detachable pieces that can get lost over the years, it's nearly impossible to find one complete.
  18. Sunday I answered an ad on Craigslist and came home with a nice, working Popeye arcade game for $400, complete with manual. It has the usual missing sideart for this style Nintendo cab, but is otherwise in good condition. I had pondered getting a Popeye for a while and I have to admit I like the looks of the dedicated Nintendo machines. They seem well-built, yet the bright colored cabinet and art make them almost toy-like. It's a shame Nintendo sunk so quickly into the generic looking VS and Playchoice cabs after these. Yes, they are the same cabinet for the most part, but the art is really lacking. I feel tempted to find a Donkey Kong and a Donkey Kong Jr next.
  19. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME NEW CASTLEVANIA!?! So I did a google news search of "Castlevania", and supposedly there are two new titles coming out. The first is a sequel to Lords of Shadow, and is rumored to be available on the Vita and upcoming Wii U. The second is a platformer for the 3DS, which was described as a platformer with two playable charecters and a co-op mode. I'm not sure if this refers to simultanious New SMB type co-op, or weird Portrait of Ruin co-op. I am very excited for some new Castlevania handheld titles, as these are long overdue. Metroidvania seems to fit in with Nintendo portable like a fish to water. I'm not too sure how I feel about the LoS 2 game for Vita; my gut tells me that it will end up being a lot like the 360 release, visually stunning but not much of a game. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing a platformer on the Vita either. Anyone who has played Rayman Origins can attest to the the Vita's platforming chops. Comment and speculate away!
  20. What's your favorite Skylander? Mine has got to be Voodood because of his power and strength luv this game
  21. I've always wondered what people think are the most epic game consoles that didn't shine as much or were too underrated. Not obvious choices like theNES or atar 2600 etc. My favorite has got to be the Vectrex so awesome
