Hi everyone, I just got a used copy of Pokemon: Alpha Sapphire for the Nintendo 3DS and when I launch the game it's in Spanish. Thing is, everything in the game is in English (box, cart, manuals, AR cards and so on.) In fact, the cartridge is for US 3DS consoles and mine's from over there. I assume I need to delete the save that's in there and maybe I get the option to select a language from withing the game? Or maybe the game's in Spanish and I'm stuck with it until I'm done with it? I have no idea, so if anyone knows the answer to this question, I'd really appreciate it since it would save me a ton of time. Thanks! -

NES System w/ New 72-Pin Connector Up for sale here is an original model Nintendo Entertainment System. It comes with a brand new 72-pin connector installed as well as a gray Zapper light gun, copy of Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt, official Nintendo power supply, and a set of composite video cables. Everything is in perfect working order with no problems of any kind and the system is in pretty fantastic condition with no yellowing, no chips, and no cracks in casing. The only thing you'll need to get started playing NES games that isn't included in this bundle is a controller, which are widely available pretty much anywhere that sells retro games. The controller I was using with this system was a custom arcade stick upgraded with real arcade parts, which I decided to sell separately since it would have added another $60 to the price of this lot if I was to bundle it in. Price: $65 NES Games Hogan's Alley - $6 Mechanized Attack - $13 Operation Wolf - $4 Rad Racer - $5 Misc. NES Stuff A set of brand new replacement conductive pads for a Nintendo NES controller. Got a moving sale going on, prices negotiable, shipping will be the larger portion of the price....and Paypal only. Three 5200 joysticks - SOLD. Next is a hardly used Okimate Printer originally for the Commodore 64. I know most collectors have no use for old printers, but there is always one somewhere....the kicker on this one is the three UNOPENED ink cartridges (2 color, 1 black) so there might be some life left in them...I have no idea what to ask for it as the shipping might be hefty....if anyone has interest in it, just PM offer and we'll negotiate. It DOES power up, gives a blinking 'Ready' light, but I DO NOT have the extra serial cable and have not hooked it up to a real C64. Last, Nintendo DSI with four carts and charger, very clean screens (not mashed in touchscreen like some used ones) - $55 plus shipping. Hi, I'm in my late 40's now. I am kind of new here but, been reading for many years. I work in IT and do the home theater thing so I know A/V stuff very well. If you have been watching my posts over the last month or so, I have been trying to get all my classic consoles together, I am going to buy a 6' X 6' Ikea shelfing ( https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50360146/#/70301537) and MODIFY it so it can fit all these consoles, put a back on it(white back sheets) so you cant see through it (keep wires hidden as well). Route out a channel on the tops so I can put LED lights to light up each shelf with a central dimmer so I can adjust the brightness. My wife is not too crazy about this idea but, she knows it's GOING TO HAPPEN. Personally, I think it's going to look epic. The lay out of the cabinets will allow me to setup 20 classic consoles (bottom level will be used for storage, controllers, etc), with another shelfing unit that I use for current consoles. The TV in this room (the layout would not allow a 2nd tv, so no CRT) is a LG 65" 4K TV. I have about 20-25 classic consoles NOT including anything from the last 8 or so years (Wii is classic, WiiU is not... for example). I have been testing them ONE BY ONE, all controllers, games, etc and they are all in a large spreadsheet with serial numbers So, rattling my brain around this one. It's a VERY, very complex setup. The first part, get everything connected so it can be switched to use each system (I have a PRONTO remote that can do that). Then show/play on the TV with the best results. So, we have RF, Composite, S-video, component, AND HDMI. The other major issue I have noticed. Lower res stuff over HDMI deals with a level of HDMI lag. I have read that it's close to 50ms on some res on my TV (cant replace it). Part of the plan is to modify classic systems to get AT LEAST composite out of them and PREFER S-Video, run into a few RetroTink 2X to HDMI, HDMI swich to Scaller (push everything up to 4K to assure low lag) then to the TV. We also have range, so some controllers will need extensions and other classics with bult in controllers will need to have enough cable to pull close to seating with out showing cable on the shelf. The RetroTink does not do auto switching, or does it have remote control to change sources, so I will need a few of them, one for each type of source (one for S-video, One for Composite, one for Component) and run them into a HDMI switch. I AM in the US so going to RGB is not something I want to do. I was VERY, VERY lucky to find a S-video/compsite switcher that does 12 X2 (so 12 S-video/composite inputs and 2 outputs so I could do muli-source down the line) so this should cover MOST composite / S-video devices. A very expensive device from many years ago. The Questions I am really wondering... As there is possible HDMI lag, SHOULD I keep these analog (then you deal with analog issues), get them all to component video with a scaller, and keep them in analog. Or stay with HDMI ? People saying get rid of the TV and just get a CRT is not helping. A CRT cant happen. I am sure others have taken on this type of project, not sure if anyone has done it at this scale (setting up one cabinet to run 20 consoles) Any advice on this one, as I am looking for others who have tried this type of project, one of those "People who don't know history tend to repeat it" type things. Just really looking for some advice on this project ! Thanks in advance ! -Dave -
I'm so...SO happy right now. I've had this project on the backburner for over half a year, and tonight I finally got around to modding & wiring the components and mounting everything on a "test control panel". I'm happy to report: I've successfully modded an NES-04 controller into an arcade stick. Tested it with Contra, and it works perfectly. Sanwa joystick, Suzo-Happ buttons, Cherry microswitches, if anyone's curious. I'll update this thread from time to time with updates on the control panel/body design and build.

I just purchased a GameCube through Facebook Marketplace and I'm really happy with the lot that I got. But I've never owned the console (it was never really popular where I live,) so I don't know much about it. I just watched some videos, but I'd like to know about some of the best games, hidden gems, accessories to take into account and so on. To be completely honest, I'm not even thinking about getting anything else because I spent more than I should have on the lot, but I'd like to know more about the GameCube because it looks like a fantastic system. Just for the purposes of sharing, I got the indigo system, the AV cable, the power brick with the cable, two memory cards that appear to be Chinese knockoffs and ten games. What Wii Games Should Every Collection Have?

I'm trying to focus on my Nintendo Wii collection for a while, so I'm wondering what people consider the best games on the platform. Personally, these are the games I have: Super Mario Galaxy Super Mario Galaxy 2 Mario Kart Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Wii Sports PES 2011 New Super Mario Bros. Wii The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (I'm actually waiting for this one to arrive in the mail.) Also, I'm desperately trying to find the following games: Xenoblade Chronicles Metroid Prime Trilogy The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Wii Sports Resort Monster Hunter Tri The Last Story Punch-Out!!! But I know there are a ton of Wii games I'm not even considering that might be a lot of fun to play either alone or with friends and family. What about games like Wii Party or Wii Play? Are there any good light gun games on the system that I'm not considering? What games make great use of the WiiMote? What games make great use of the controller's microphone (I watched a video about a horror game that made creepy noises when there were dangerous creatures around, it was called something like "The Calling", I think)? The Super Smash Bros. series is one of my favorites to play with friends and family. I used to play the original on an emulator a lot back when I was a teenager and since then I've been trying hard to add those games to my collection. As most people probably know, Super Smash Bros. Melee has become increasingly rare over the past few years and some of the used copies can be quite expensive on sites like eBay. So my question is simple, what do you think is a fair price for that game on good conditions? I found someone that's selling it for around $25 and even though it may not sound like a lot of money for most people, it's to me, but then again, I'd love to have that game in my collection. According to reference site Price Charting, that game usually sells for around $50 loose, so $25 sounds like a great deal. The only things stopping me are 1) the fact that I found it online and other than looking at some blurry pictures I can't really see the conditions of the game and 2) I don't have a GameCube yet, though I definitely want to add one to my collection soon (I do have a Wii, though.) Any fans who happen to know more about the game please help me with the price and I'd also like to know what are the contents of the box (manual? pamphlets? instruction booklet?) This is a game that I definitely don't want to be buying twice. Thanks in advance!

The holidays are fast approaching and I know I'm going to hang out with family members that enjoy gaming as much as I do. One of my favorite consoles to take to those gatherings is my Nintendo WIi since it doesn't take that much space and it isn't really heavy in case I have to walk. I'm trying to track down some games that are fun to play with other people and most of the lists mention the same titles, thing is I really want to hear other people's opinions instead of reading a list from IGN or GamesRadar. So far, I have New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and I'm really interested in getting Mario Kart Wii. Other than that, which do you think are the best Wii games to play with other people? I'd really appreciate it if anyone can recommend more obscure games that most lists regret to mention. Thanks for your help!

So now that i've owned a Switch, a PS4 and an Xbone for a few months, i have noticed that it's much more expensive to game on the Nintendo platform. Hardware cost of entry isn't that dissimilar, though resale is typically better for Nintendo consoles, but really its the games...man, the games! Typical life cycles of PS4 or Xbox Game: Game comes out, is $60 dollars, a few months later $15-$25 dollars, a few years later, $10-$12 Typical life cycle of a Nintendo Game: Game come out is full price $40-$60 dollars, a few months later is definitely full price, a few years later, full price. Several years later, if lucky to be a nintendo select, goes on sale for "Selects" price of whatever, $20 or $30. I get that the cartridges make games more expensive (3DS, Switch) but it's more than that really. Nintendo doesn't have any competition. If a game comes out on Xbox (lets say Rise of the Tomb raider) you can buy it on there, or on PS4, which drives prices down. But there is only one place to play Mario games. Yes you can't buy Super Luckys Tale (Xbone) on any other console, but lets be honest, no one wants that game, haha. At any rate, buying a lot more on PS4 and Xbone these days because it's so damn cheap! I think this is another reason third parties are weary of bringing games to Nintendo, because they are competing against Nintendo's own very good exclusives on that platform, and becaus they know anything they bring to the platform will just be outsold by cheaper offerings by themselves on steam, xbone, ps4, etc. It's interesting to think about, but there is a serious premium demanded to this day for Nintendo first party software on their hardware. It's no wonder they are hesitant to get out of the hardware business...as soon as they do that control and power to make their own pricing and control the media format goes out the window and they just turn into another Sega.
