  1. My references: https://www.heatware.com/u/55794/to Also see my signature for my AA feedback thread. Prices including shipping in the USA. Modded PS1 - The system isn't one I ever had much nostalgia for, though I did have one back in 98/99. I've had it for around 5 months and have played it exactly twice. Since it's in great condition and plays CD-Rs and is region-free for imports, I figure it's better off going to an AA member who will love it. SCPH-9001 modded PlayStation 1 system 1x 3rd-party Dual Shock clone controller. As clones go, it's pretty nice, honestly 1x Sony-branded composite AV cable 1x power cord with the keyed connector to match the system 3x Retro-Bit PS1 memory cards - two are still in the package 1x other third-party PS1 memory card Looking for $70 shipped. SOLD TO SCOOBY105 Everdrive N8 - $95 shipped - comes with 4GB SD card. NO ROMs are included, but the latest firmware is on there. SOLD TO SCOOBY105 RetroUSB AVS - turns out my nostalgia for the NES can be sated by emulation. Got this in the latest batch of preorders in February. Comes with the following: Original mini USB and power adapter HDMI cable Original box with manual OEM Nintendo controllers with Tomee extension cord Asking $160 shipped.
  2. From the album: Games and Their Stories

Although I don't have the system anymore (Mom gave it away to a goodwill when I upgraded up to a 360), I still have the box. I remember how hyped I was getting this console for my birthday. I had it up until 2010, as I arrived kind of late to the 7th generation. I clocked in hundreds upon hundreds of hours into the system, and it never once had any issues. I don't really have the heart in me to throw it away, hopefully it's out there still kicking it!

    PS3 Games

    From the album: Smelly's Setup

Here are my PS3 games. Not too many, but all have a good amount of use.
  4. So I have a DualShock 2 and the X button doesn't register anymore, I was wondering if there's any way to fix it. I know what most people are going to say: "Dude, throw it away and go get another one because DualShock controllers are really cheap at this point." Thing is, where I live, the only PS2 controllers you can get are cheap Chinese knockoffs that look just like the real thing, but absolutely suck. So if you can share some videos or articles where they explain a solution to this problem I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
  5. Well, I've done some more experimenting and have managed to find a way to attach wired PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers to the 5200 to play the games that offer digital controls (as opposed to the analog-only games like Missile Command). This required a number of video game controller adapters/cables and a USB power supply. Here's how it's done: The adapters needed to get the wired PS3 controllers compatible with the Atari 5200 are as follows: 1) a 15 pin PC Gameport controller to 15 pin Atari 5200 adapter. These are obtained by contacting Atariage member, bohoki. He makes these for under $20 (shipped within the U.S.). 2) An adapter that converts Atari/Amiga/Sega controllers with a 9 pin connector to a 15 pin PC gameport. These are available on Ebay from "Ikonsgr74" and can be obtained for under $20 (shipped anywhere in the world). 3) A Tototek Joypad Convertor version MD (for Playstation controller compatibility on the Megadrive/Sega Genesis). These adapters are under $30. 4) A Brook Game Controller Super Convertor for adapting a PS3/PS4 controller to a PS2 console. These can be had for under $40. 5) a USB splitter cable ($12 or less). 6) a powersupply with a USB cord (5Volts) OR a USB Hub with connected power supply. To get the Xbox 360 controllers compatible with the 5200, you'll need one additional adapter. It is the Mayflash Universal Adapter for Xbox360/PS3/PS2/PC USB. These may be found at Amazon. Current price for these on Amazon is $30, but that is subject to change. Mayflash adapters tend to become scarce and go up in price. If any of you have interest in a video presentation on this (as well as a quick explanation of how to fix a potentiometer controller problem) here's the link for that:
  6. I've owned a Logitech Wireless Action Controller for the PS2 for almost a decade. I've only had a problem with it once which involved the X button getting stuck every once in a while, but I remember cleaning it and solving the issue. But now I can't use it anymore because the receiver doesn't turn on the light. I think that's how it worked: the receiver blinked (or you had to push the button for the light to blinked) and then you pushed a button on the controller and voila! But the receiver's light never turns on regardless of what I do. I looked up the manuals online to see if I was doing everything wrong, but I can't seem to find a solution. Help! I really want to play Final Fantasy VII and I don't want to go back to a wired controller. Can anyone help me to check if the problem is the receiver not working properly or if I'm not configuring it properly?
  7. What a great intro! Fast cars, hot babe, good music. Great game too! They don't make them like this anymore.
  8. I'd like to pick up some PlayStation games that I missed, but I'm slightly confused as to all the intricacies of backwards compatibility between the generations. I know PS1 games will play on a PS2, so I don't need a PS1. PS2 games will play on certain PS3s - but those command a hefty price premium? PS4s will play PS1 games (from disk? do you have to repurchase them?) - will they play PS2 or PS3 titles? So at a minimum, I need a backwards compatibile PS3 and a PS4 to access the full library, but it may be more cost effective to get a PS2 and a non-compat PS3? Is my knowledge out of date? I have a Trinitron in the basement so I can hook up a PS2 there if need be, but I'd like the keep the number of systems to a minimum.
  9. I was doing some research about Logitech controllers on the PS2 because I read that that brand released some of the best controllers on the console. That's how I found about about the Logitech NetPlay Keyboard and I want someone, anyone to tell me something about that thing. According to reference sites like PriceCharting.com those controllers should be collectible and somewhat expense, but someone's selling them for $10 with shipping and I have to know if it's worth acquiring one or not. Some general questions include: are they compatible with every game on the system or just online games? If that's the case, do you recommend using it for any games in particular or is it good just for the purposes of collecting? I think I can't really go wrong for that price. Apparently they come complete in box and most reviews from that seller are fine. It seems he has a stack of them and just wants to get rid of them, but since I can't find that much information about the controller anywhere, I turn to you. It seems most of the people who got one of those back in the day used it for Final Fantasy XI, but I don't know, maybe it works well with strategy games or slow-paced RPGs. Again, I'm just seriously considering it for the low price... Here's a picture:
  10. I recently came across a Logitech Precision Controller for the PlayStation 2 (also compatible with the original PlayStation) and I flipped out. I had a Logitech PS2 Cordless Action Controller that I loved back in the day, but the X button eventually wore out thanks to stupid mini-games and QTEs. This person is selling it for around $20 and swears that her kids used it a couple of times, their PS2 broke and they moved on to a newer console, but I've never been a fan of getting used controllers. But Logitech PS2 controllers have always had a fantastic reputation and I'm wondering if it's worth making an exception. So had anyone had an experience with that model in particular? Is the controller worth that price? I know it's a gamble, but I never come across those and need some advice. I have a feeling I might regret in the future, but I can't tell right now. Oh, and there's a picture of the controller below just for reference.
  11. Good afternoon all, I have just picked up an old Phat PS2 PAL model. I am getting disc read errors on PS2 games, PS1 games and audio discs. I did briefly manage to get a PS2 game to load, but it eventually locked up on the title screen when left alone. I know the discs are all fine because I play them on another console that I have. I was just wondering what could be the cause of this and if its not too expensive I may attempt to repair/replace myself. Many thanks for your help!
  12. Today I've got some information to share on how you can get your Playstation controller working on your Colecovision with adapters. This required some experimenting with using a current-day USB hub with power supply. Check out my results here: Here are the adapters you'll need: 1) 9 pin Sega Genesis extension cords (2) 2) Edladdin Seagull 78 controller adapter (converts Genesis controllers to be fully-compatible with the Atari 7800) 3) Tototek Joypad Converter version MD (converts Playstation controllers to be compatible with the Sega Genesis console) 4) PS1 Multitap 5) Speedlink Redeemer Beyond Total Control Playstation 2 mouse/keyboard adapter 6) powered USB hub with power supply The method: 1) Plug in a Colecovision controller into port 2 of your Colecovision (consider connecting a 9 pin extension cable to it in case you want to sit a little ways away from the console.) 2) Plug a 9 pin extension cable into port 1 of your Colecovision, but don't plug any adapter into it yet. (wait) 3) Connect all the above adapters/PS1 Multitap together but leave the Seagull78 adapter unconnected to the 9 pin extension cable that's plugged into port one of the console. 4) Plug your Playstation controller into port A of the multitap 5) Plug the Speedlink Redeemer into port B of the multitap 6) Connect a powered USB hub (with power supply plugged into the wall) to the lower USB connector of the Speedlink. 7) Turn on your Colecovision and use the keypad of the port 2 Colecovision controller to make your game selection and start up the game. 8 ) Now plug in the adapters to the extension cable that's plugged into port 1 of your Colecovision and play your game with the connected Playstation controller. This method works for many, but not all Colecovision games. The ones that are incompatible with this method are the ones which don't allow a keypad controller that's plugged into port 2 of the console to start up the game, but only a keypad that's plugged into port 1 of the console. If you want to know how to get around that with a 9 pin splitter cable method, take a look at the video presentation. The nice thing about using Playstation controllers is that both buttons- not just one button- will work in the games that have the 2 button access. Another really nice aspect is that you can use a flightstick to play games like Zaxxon and River Raid. Also, it's nice to be able to use an arcade stick to play games like Q-bert or Ladybug.
  13. I've managed to have success getting adapters plugged in to the Colecovision for the purpose of getting Playstation controller compatibilty. Watch the experiment in action here: Here are the adapters you'll need: 1) 9 pin Sega Genesis extension cords (2) 2) Edladdin Seagull 78 controller adapter (converts Genesis controllers to be fully-compatible with the Atari 7800) 3) Tototek Joypad Converter version MD (converts Playstation controllers to be compatible with the Sega Genesis console) 4) PS1 Multitap 5) Speedlink Redeemer Beyond Total Control Playstation 2 mouse/keyboard adapter 6) powered USB hub with power supply The method: 1) Plug in a Colecovision controller into port 2 of your Colecovision (consider connecting a 9 pin extension cable to it in case you want to sit a little ways away from the console.) 2) Plug a 9 pin extension cable into port 1 of your Colecovision, but don't plug any adapter into it yet. 15. Are generic PlayStation 2 memory cards any good? They are pretty inexpensive, but the one I saw, which is 128MB, I'd use not only to back up all the saves from my previous memory cards, but also for new games I get. So far, I've used the PlayStation-branded ones which are solid and extremely reliable, but I don't want to get a new card and then lose all of my progress on dozens of games. Any thoughts?

  20. Hi It may be a long shot but I'm hoping someone will sell and/or trade me a PSX or PS2 to Vectrex adapter/converter. These were supposed to be made again, but so far, nothing has come to light and while I'd like to make my own, I've not seen any plans out there. I'd really like to play Robot Arena on the Vectrex with twin analog (or digital) sticks, so using this adapter would be the way to go. If anyone has one to part with or even knows how to build a twin stick controller of any sort, please contact me. Thanks!

  22. Here's a presentation of my latest adapter discovery for the 5200. In it I discuss bohoki's PC to 5200 adapter as well as some of the unsuccessful attempts by a couple different 5200 forum members here on Atariage in the early 2000s to get Playstation to 5200 controller adapters manufactured. Enjoy:
  23. There are some rumors milling (could like some articles, but they are all pretty similar) that Sony is working on a handheld "switch killer." Anyone think they are actually working on something like this, or are these completely unfounded internet rumors? Discuss..
