Hello! I recently got a CoCo 1 and have been trying to get it load programs via a Cassette cable I bought off Ebay. Here's how it goes: I load the .wav file onto the device. I get the wav files from here: http://www.colorcomputerarchive.com/coco/Cassettes/Games/ I connect the device via the cable to the device. I type 'CLOAD' (or CLOADM, as applicable) and then that little prompt in the corner comes up. I press play. It blinks. It gets the correct name of the program. It appears to be loading. The recording stops. The little light blinks: 'OK' it says. Now when I type 'Run', nothing happens. I type 'List' and there's no program loaded. It's like it wasn't loading anything at all. :-/. What's going on? How can I potentially fix it? I've tried various volume levels but that doesn't seem to matter. I KNOW it's loading /something/ because it's detecting the name of the program while it loads. :-/.

Hi! My name is Greg. New to the forum. Finally getting around to posting on here. I have been collecting retro computers and consoles for a number of years now, but have yet to really participate in forums. Currently I own an Amiga 600, TI 99/4A, Atari 800XL, and now new to the stable is a Tandy 1000 EX. It was obtained second hand for $5. I spent this afternoon taking the machine apart and cleaning; as well as inspecting the hardware. The computer is all clean now and boots to a prompt for a bootable discs. Herein lies the issue... I have no discs! I don't really have a way of imaging discs for 5.25 drives at this time unfortunately. After some research, I found that I will require MS-DOS 2.11 to be able to boot this machine to run software. Here are my questions. 1. Does anyone have a copy of MS-DOS 2.11 or has the means to copy a disc for me that could be mailed? 2. What is the easiest way to image these discs nowadays? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. If you can send me a copy that would be great. I would paypal for the copy of the disc and to cover shipping.

I have a Tandy 1000 TL/2 computer that I acquired recently. I had to replace the hard drive and a floppy drive. I formatted the hard drive and have successfully transferred files over to it from some disk. However, I can not load any games from the hard drive. These same games will load just fine when running from the floppy itself. The weird thing is is that small utility programs, such as setuptl2 will run just fine from the hard drive. But with every game I have tried so far it will skip to the next line in the command prompt like its going to load but just freeze there. I've let it be for nearly 30 minutes once trying to load SImCIty. Any idea what might be causing this?

Hello everyone! I am selling off my Vintage Tabletop Arcade systems! They range from Epoch, Tandy, Entex, and Tomy. Time for these games to be enjoyed by someone else and have in their collection! Trying to save up money You can check out my items here: Here is a list of what I have for sale: 1) Entex Spiders 2) Tomy Scramble 3) Tandy Cosmic 1000 4) Epoch Galaxy II 5) Tandy Astro Arcade 6) Coleco Zaxxon Arcade 7) Tandy Caveman If anyone is interested please message me through here, or through Ebay! I am open to offers, and if purchasing multiple items we can work out a bundle price. I try to list at fair prices, and willing to accept reasonable offers and I do offer free shipping. I do have an Entex Crazy Climber that I have not listed yet. I do not know what the value is or what its going for since there have not been any for sale. If someone can help me with a price or make an offer I can't refuse, then we can definitely work out a deal! All Tabletop games are functioning and working like they should. All battery covers are there. No missing labels or labels peeling off. All are functioning in working order! This is my first time posting on here, so if there is something I missed or did wrong please let me know! Kind regards, Clint

I am having a problem with my TRS-80 Color Computer 2, it will not load cassettes. I just bought a new cable for it on Ebay, as i did not have one. The seller said it was made himself, it was hooked correctly into the cassette recorder, but when i try to load a cassette, it just sits there and does nothing, the motors do not run at all on the player with it hooked up, unless i hit play on the recorder, and it still will not load! any ideas?

I would like to open the discussion on EDTASM+ and your experience with it. I realize this is an Atari forum, but I'll take any input I can get I have a CoCo 2 with 64K and I'm curious how large my applications can get with it. I found this manual online: http://www.colorcomputerarchive.com/coco/Documents/Manuals/Programming/EDTASM+%20With%20ZBUG%20%28Tandy%29.pdf It's been helpful as it references EDTASM+ cartridge version. However, due to the time it was written, it goes into more detail about the 16K and 32K versions. I'm curious if it has support to take advantage of the 64K machine I have. I get that this is more than antiquated, but I have a feeling you understand why I would want to learn this. Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to discuss this.

I just bought this unit today. It is an original 4K version of the Color Computer 1. After fiddling with the inner RF box, I finally got a nice picture and the unit does seem pretty much untouched, even though the tamper sticker and screw under it was missing. I've tried a few cartridges I had laying around, but so far it doesn't want to play them. At most I get garbage on the screen or just a green screen, even after cleaning a few times. I'm hoping it's just a case the carts I am trying are too big for this unit's 4K of RAM. I have a slightly later unit with the 32K of RAM, but I always figured I would pick up an early 4K version if I found one in decent shape. And yes, it is only running Color Basic 1.0!

I'm extremely new to actually using the CoCo 2 and basic code in general. So I found some sample basic code in an old december issue of The Rainbow that does a little Xmas demo and i'm wondering if there is a way to type it in on my modern computer(this one is a Macbook Pro, but I can also run windows so i'm fairly platform agnostic) in a text editor and convert that file to a cassette image or a disk image I can load on the CoCo? Does this even make sense?

Pulled my Tandy 1000SX out after over 10 years in storage and am surprised the unit still powers up and works. Unfortunately, my original system disk got destroyed years back and I can't find the container that has the copies and other diskettes in it! Tried a copy of MS-DOS that I had from an earlier Sanyo PC, but that might not be formatted correctly. Wanted to try the unit out as a place I went to last weekend had a fair amount of Tandy 1000 stuff. Of course, with the prices on everything seeming to jump right now, I might just keep it as a showpiece.

I've seen a couple different tape decks on eBay and i'm not sure which is the proper one to use for the CoCo, but in any event, I was hoping to acquire a cheap deck with the audio cables, say the $20 range if possible. I have exactly one cassette game that it took me weeks to track down and I am hoping that my girlfriend will actually be able to play it on her CoCo on Xmas if she wants to open the package.
