  1. A copy for a call for a Secret Santa 2022 coordinator posted in the "Vectrex Fans Unite!" group on Facebook. I think the hope is to expand and include members on Vector Forums (https://vectorgaming.proboards.com/board/20/vectrex) and AtariAge (https://forums.atariage.com/forum/182-vectrex/) into Secret Santa this year. So if anyone is up for the joy and on all three platforms please jump in. https://www.facebook.com/groups/vectrex/posts/1928977900645911/ "It'll be time to start organizing this year's Secret Santa in a week or two. I did the first one and Just Noah did the second one, so if we're doing it this year it would be cool if someone else would step up and take the reins. Volunteers? There's not a great deal of work involved, it's primarily just keeping track of mailing deadlines and prodding everyone occasionally."

  6. Hello! I wanted to offer the people on AtariAge the opportunity to purchase one of the MineStorm decal wraps I designed for the Vectrex. Take a look at the attached images and let me know what you think! I'll be doing a limited print run of 50 wraps. There is a pre-order list. If you are interested, please comment below and I'll add your name to it. Pricing will be $75 for the wrap, $15 for shipping to the US and $25 to ship internationally. (Shipping costs are estimates and are subject to change) I'll be making payment requests in the next couple of weeks, once I've gotten a few more people signed up. Payment will be made through PayPal. The material is repositionable, pressure activated vinyl with a UV laminate to protect the decal (and your Vectrex) from light damage. It's designed to be removed without leaving residue or damaging the surface. It's the same vinyl decal material used to wrap vehicles, and of course that has to eventually be removed when you sell the vehicle or change the wrap. So don't worry about damaging your precious consoles! These decals will actually protect them and will come off clean when you're ready to remove them. They're also easy to install, and require no special tools.
  7. Looking to sell my Vectrex it is in beautiful condition works well has the hum but sound works fine and picture looks great! From a non smoking home. I would like to get $700 for this console shipped to the 48. Direct message me if interested Thanks!
  8. I'm trying to find a compiler to create Vectrex games, I found a lot of them but none works on Windows 10, can anyone help me find one? Or is there a game engine that could help me make games similar to those on Vectrex?
  9. Vectrex game Armor Attack - Aluminium & brass shell in Ukrainian colours Armor Attack in custom aluminium and brass shell in Ukrainian colours - Sold for charity This auction is for charity. All money I get from this auction will be donated to Swedish Red Cross. Ebay does not support Swedish charities, so I will handle the donation manually myself. The winner will get a printed certificate of donation. Hearing news about the horrors of war when Russia wages war against Ukraine makes one feel powerless to do anything about it. So I decided to act and do SOMETHING, anything to support Ukraine in this crisis. This auction was the best idea I could come up with. It is just the original game Armor Attack (by GCE 1982) that I have housed in a custom machined metal shell that I have made myself. The top half of the shell is made from solid aluminium that has been surface treated blue by a method called anodizing. The logo of the game has then been engraved into the shell through the coloured blue oxide layer so the engraving stands out in shiny aluminium "silver" against the otherwise blue surface. The bottom shell was made from solid brass. Blue aluminium top and yellow brass bottom shell makes the colours of the flag of Ukraine. This shell is HEAVY. More than three times as heavy as a plastic shell. The brass bottom shell has been hollowed out even more than usual to make it lighter so it won't put unnecessary strain on the cartridge port in the vectrex. https://www.rodakorset.se/ https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vectrex-game-Armor-Attack---Aluminium-&-brass-shell-in-Ukrainian-colours-/154904394347 #Charity #Auction #Svenska #Röda #Korset #Swedish #Red #Cross #Ukrainian #Colours #Vectrex #game #cartridge #cart #shell #Blue #aluminium #Yellow #brass #Armor #Attack
  10. Has anyone ever made a Pantone PMS color set for the Vectrex CRT Phosphor color at various brightness control levels? Visible low. Medium. Bright without blanked lines. Very Bright with everything shown. Very Bright with everything shown.
  11. Hello All, It's been a while since I've posted, but I got on a nostalgia kick a few weeks ago and renewed my relationship with my Vectrex (it's platonic). Anyway, on some of the Vectrex sites I've been reading lately it seems like it's a minor mystery who originally purchased Brett Walach's Vectorcade controllers and some sites are trying to link Vectorcade numbers to owners. So: I am the original owner of Vectorcade #21. I found out a few days ago that some units had an "easter egg", inside, i.e. a written message. Mine does not, however. I can't post the link here, but if you go to the Steam web site's "Community" link and search on "Antiluddite" under the Find People field you'll find my profile (first one) with some images and a brief "origin" story for anyone interested. I included the registration panel from the bottom of the unit for proof (although I've removed my name).
  12. Is there a Vectrex ROM ripper/downloader? I have a Bedlam EEPROM prototype and would like to download the ROMs. Thanks
  13. In case you missed Brett Walch's announcement in the "Vectrex fans unite!" Facebook group, below is a cross-post of his announcement for "Turkey Hero". Below that is a URL to play the game online. "[NEW GAME] Happy Thanksgiving 2021, everyone! I'm starting an annual tradition of spending the day before Thanksgiving to write a holiday themed game for the Vectrex. So now we have 2 Thanksgiving games... Turkey Pop from last year, and now Turkey Hero! Everything you need to understand how to play is included in the game. There's currently no end screen, but I'd love to see some of your high scores posted ? (Note only the display appears slightly askew...the photo below where the whole console is skewed is because I suck at photos) Overlays are 100% pristine and have been kept under plastic covers in a 3 ring binder Caveat: one joystick port is not functioning.

  17. Cross-posting the new 2021 production Vectrex Mail Plane and Light Pen release announcement by Sean Kelly. "NOW AVAILABLE - MAIL PLANE! I've been working on this project for several months and finally debuted it at Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee this past weekend. Mail Plane is available in two different packages - Standard and Deluxe. The Standard Edition comes complete with a box, insert and full instruction manual. The Deluxe Edition comes complete with a box, insert, full instruction manual, a perfect replica of the original Light Pen, a replica Light Pen instruction sheet and a limited edition Mail Plane pilot's wings pin. Everything in the Deluxe Edition fits nicely back into the standard-sized Mail Plane box. The Light Pen was made from a custom mold and is the exact size and shape as the original. I also had a cable molded to the exact specifications of the GCE Light Pen cable. The pen housing is hot stamped with the Vectrex and Light Pen logos in silver ink. I intentionally omitted the "TM" after the Vectrex logo as a way of differentiating this pen from the original. Honestly, other than that is near impossible to tell the difference. In addition to the two boxed versions, I also have loose cartridges of Mail Plane and loose Light Pens available. Everything can be found on my website at http://www.vectrexmulti.com/! "
  18. Looking for Vectrex games like Debris or Color Clash or other homebrew games. thanks!

    Vectrex system

Looking for a good shape vectrex for a decent price. I just won one on ebay but came in last night with a budging side, a small chip on the screen, and something loose inside it all due to UPS's inadequate packaging... still turns on though. Anyway, I'll going to have to return this back to get a refund back. I'm hooked on getting a vectrex now so if anyone is selling one im interested, Thanks!
  20. I have a Mr. Boston cart but the label is 90% missing. Any ideas or suggestions on figuring out the value of something like that? My Dad was a liquor rep back in the day, that's how i got it

  22. If you didn't already know, the Retro Programming - Vectrex Academy 2021 course offered by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Peer Johannsen through Pforzheim University (Hochschule Pforzheim) is well underway. Some students have posted work that could benefit from testing and your feedback. Below is the comment posted on by Peer on Vector Forums along with the link to the 2021 project gallery page. Make all replies to either the direct reply email link available on each project page, or by "Vectrex Academy 2021" post thread on Vector Forums. "Greetings everyone, here are the latest news of the Vectrex Academy 2021: All the projects are on track. Some have already reached what I would call a very early alpha status, which is quite amazing considering the fact that, just 7 weeks ago, none of the students had even heard of a Vectrex before. Two of the students are brave enough to have their alpha candidates already put out to the public for some very early alpha testing Alpha test binaries of projects "Frog Jump" and "Racetrex" are available for download by means of the gallery page. There are also links on the project pages for playing the games in Dr. Snuggles' online emulator in your web browser. It would be really really great if some of you guys out there find the time to take a look and try these games and voice your opinions and some early feedback here on the forum. This would be quite rewarding for the students and a great help for them while continuing their work on the projects. Many Cheers, Peer" Vectrex Academy 2021 Project Gallery Page: http://eitidaten.fh-pforzheim.de/daten/mitarbeiter/johannsen/vectrex_2021/gallery/vectrex_gallery_2021.htm Vector Gaming Forum thread about the 2021 projects General Information: https://vectorgaming.proboards.com/thread/2544/vectrex-academy-2021 Vectrex Academy 2021 Homepage: http://eitidaten.fh-pforzheim.de/daten/mitarbeiter/johannsen/vectrex_2-021/vectrex_academy_2021.htm
  23. So I recently bought Vectorblade and Protector/YASI from Packrat, and immediately having a Space Invaders itch, I popped in the latter and was immediately greeted for the first time with the awesome menu music that I assume a lot here are familiar with A little backstory about myself, I'm part of the Clone Hero community (if you're unaware, I assume you've heard of the game Guitar Hero; it's a free-to-play clone of those games) and basically, what I do is I take music that I think would be fun to play, and I make it playable on the game. Immediately, I was interested in doing what I could with the menu music from Protector/YASI. I messaged the guy behind Packrat about it asking if I was allowed to have a ROM file sent to me to try to rip the music, since I just bought the game. When he got back to me though, he said that he couldn't get a hold of the original creator and was therefore (understandably so) hesitant to share a ROM file without permission. Unfortunately, this was my only lead, as I do not have a Vectrex cart reader for my PC. I would like to clarify: I am NOT asking for a free ROM of this game (I, admittedly, don't even know if Homebrew ROMs follow the same rules as officially licensed ones. A ROM would fix my predicament, but I don't wanna accidentally break rules by asking for a ROM when I'm not supposed to or something. If anyone needed me to, I could provide proof that I own the game), I am only interested in getting my hands on an acceptable-quality audio file of the menu music. I was wondering if anyone else had ever ripped this audio, or if anyone has the ROM on their PC to be able to do so for me? (Or alternatively, I don't suppose anyone here knows how to get a hold of Alex Herbert?)
  24. Happy Holidays To all, Barb and I wish you the best for the holidays ****Coming very soon **** Sega combos. Many variations will be available, including the CD, the CD platform and so on. If you have any interest in these, send me a PM indicating which or what combinations you are looking for. How many times have you seen a console setting on a shelf,or a table, and covered in a fine layer of dust or sticky fingerprints? Dust and sticky stuff is not our friend! And its certainly not a friend to our consoles. So, a dust cover is not only "eye candy" but it keeps that console killer, dust out. Oh,lets not forget those other killers, foreign objects, unknown liquids, and little kids. And it adds a touch of cool to your collection *****And to all of you sending prayers our way, Barb and I thank you.******* Leukemia is for lack of a better description a life changer.Since I was diagnosed with this a year and a half ago, our lives have seen the entire range of emotions. I was told that I had 1-2 years left when they 1st found it. Then after a very aggressive pattern of chemo and blood transfusions, it went into remission 4 months ago. But now its back again, and I have to be very worried about infections. So we are back to the chemo again, and hope that another miracle will occur. After a depressing vist with the Dr. it appears that choices of treatment , have become limited. I can either go to the hospital for a month where they would treat this with a very very aggressive chemo, or I can get a milder version , given as a shot for 5 days, every month. The choice is becoming clear, and it is Quality or Quantity. I have chosen the quality, and with that I am not sure where it will go. I will say that at least I have been given the option, which alot of people do not get.And after the second go around with the Chemo, I am holding my own.I cannot decide which is worse, a round of 15 shots or getting a bag hooked up for an hour at a time. Bottom line, with Barbs help, and the amazing drugs I soldier on. Again thank you to all who send us best wishes. Over the past few years we have had numerous requests for consoles and computers that we do make. The reason we do not make them is because we have not had the actual console/ computer to use for a template. Buyers say, well I can give you the dimensions or send a picture. The problem is that dimensions do not take into account all the curves, bends, protrusions etc that are common on these units. So, working from supplied dimensions almost never works. Barb and I are not as mobile as we used to be, so trying to find these computers/ game consoles is a crap shoot at best and a waste of time at worst. What we can offer is this.If you have a console/computer, preferably a parts shell unit, that your willing to send us, we will make a cover for it and send it back at no charge! Now, we are not interested in units that are so obscure that there might only be 100 in the world. Obviously for us to make the cover there has to be a market of some kind, so please keep that in mind. So, shoot me a PM, let me know what your looking for and we can see if we can help each other!
