  1. I'm copying this over from I post i made on the Vectrex Fans unite facebook page: I make homemade Vectrex overlays by hand and my inkjet. Ready to take on the second batch of orders - the first ones have all been sent out! I find the quality to be great! I can do the original GCE releases only, no homebrew or unreleased games. The first batch was me figuring out the final process and pricing. They are $13 each and shipping is $8 US / $14 international (for one or up to 10). Send payment via paypal to funknflow@aol.com (good and services). In the note tell me which ones you are ordering. Or PM but paypal method is by far the easiest. Thanks and I hope those of you who ordered in the first round are pleased!
  2. So, I made a game for the Vectrex some time ago called 'Circus Vectrex' that was supposed to be just a tongue-in-cheek take on the classic 'Circus Atari' game. At one point I was thinking about polishing this game off, as it was, and releasing it as a cartridge. I never did get around to it as the cost was a bit high for me at the time, and the game had a bit too much drift on some of the testers Vectrex. Although it seemed fine on mine? Since then I've had a few people tell me I should make the start jump and in-game jump mechanic more like the Atari game and release it. So I've come to ask for, and would appreciate, some honest answers from people who are likely to know both systems. Do you think this game is good enough / worth attempting to convert so it plays the same as the 'Circus Atari' game? I've added a short video (sorry no sound, my bad) and an online playable link below so you can get an idea of the game. https://drsnuggles.github.io/jsvecx/?rom=Circus Or have a look on my (old) blog: http://garrysgamingblog.blogspot.com/p/programming-projects.html Thing is I now have 10 spare eproms to do this with, as I've decided to use a writable chip with the full version of my 'Trapped' proof of concept game. (If it ever gets done) So do you honestly think it's a worthwhile project or not (I've more projects than time just now ) and your opinion would be welcome.
  3. Hello all. I am looking for a Vectrex console in good, working condition, preferably with a working controller as well. Games and overlays are not needed. I am willing to entertain all reasonable offers. Thanks!
  4. Happy New Year everyone! Our little team, Shattered Screens, is delighted to present our upcoming Vectrex cart release, Vecribbon. Liv the ladybird lives in a music-driven, obstacle-filled world, and needs your help to navigate it. A 2-level playable demo with PDF manual is available now on our website: https://shatteredscreens.com/vecribbon-playable-demo-now-available/ And pre-orders for cartridge release are open too: https://shatteredscreens.com/vecribbon-pre-orders-are-live/ Best regards, Shattered Screens Team
  5. Hey all, Has anyone made a routine to print a string rotated by 90 or 270 degrees? I'm looking at supporting a horizontal orientation and wondered if there was a known solution out there already. Cheers!
  6. I love vectrex homebrews and all new games for our retro consoles..... Anyway what's your favorite homebrew for the vectrex. By the way later this year is the vectrex's anniversary!! My favorite homebrew is from http://www.classicgamecreations.com/ , Vecmania!
  7. Every year, in the first November week the Vector War is on. The Vector War is an international Vectrex tournament initiated back in 2011 by Rob Maerz. Vector War X will take place from Sat 31st Oct - Sat 7th November. Both beginner and expert Vectrex players are invited to participate. Have fun and compete with other Vectrex players all over the world! You can even win prizes! You'll find more information in the Vector gamingforum.
  8. Found these plans on PlayVectrex.com: http://www.playvectrex.com/vectech/vectrack.txt Looks like it is not a true analog trackball, but cool nonetheless!
  9. Hi, I have a VecFlash cartridge in a White 3D printed shell with a blue LED. Comes Complete with software and extras on SD card, Includes USB transfer cable. Free shipping to US. Will hold up to 31 32KB games. $65.00
  10. ENTER THE FANTASTIC WORLD OF THE DARK TOWER! Helmut (hcmffm) and Nico (Nic Lobo aka pucpcuc) from Germany would like to honour a Vectrex game that was not released back in the 1980s: DARK TOWER. It's a pity that this great and unique action roleplaying game had no full physical release with box and overlay. We are going to change that! The goal is to make the finished product look and feel as if it was teleported here from the Eighties. PLEASE DO NOT ask to "put me on the list" because there is no list, yet. We will post here once the Dark Tower reproduction is near completion and ordering is possible. Cartridge numbers will be assigned randomly anyhow and not on a first come first served basis. Only one cartridge number is reserved already, that's Dark Tower #1 for John Hall, the original developer of the game. John wished us the best for the project (how cool is that?!). Production of a sufficient quality box and overlay will be challenging , and the final assembly and shipping will be a lot of work. But it's not just the two of us - Mat (Mayhem), Tony (50tbrd), and likely some more Vectrex enthusiasts will help us realise this project. Stay tuned! The picture shows a prototype which looks better on a photo, than in reality - just to give an idea where we are aiming to. Professional printing services will be used, so the final product will look different. Also artwork is still in progress and does not represent the final product. Nico and Helmut
  11. If anyone has a loose GCE Vectrex Web Wars cart they are selling I am looking for one
  12. Send a private message (PM) if interested. Looking to trade a Web Warp cart for a Web Wars cart. This would be a straight trade. Location: USA, West Coast, SF Bay Area, 94044 Web Warp Game Cartridge for General Consumer Electronics (GCE) / Milton Bradley (MB) Vectrex. Made by Milton Bradley. With MB Euro / Nordic region rounded letting Vectrex logo design. Republic of Ireland (IRE) production factory. Snap closure cart case design made without closure screw. Welded permanently closed at the factory. More rounded corners seen on this cartridge case and cartridge label from this production location. #Vectrex #Web #Warp #WebWarp #Wars #WebWars Cart Pics here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/7teqK5sJcpJpCbcm8
  13. Thanks Brett Walach for the Updated Vectorblade IC with Malban's updated Vectorblade release v1.03. And the Vectrex LED enhancement add-on boards too! https://PlayVectrex.com/ #Vectrex #Vectorblade #PlayVectrex #LED
  14. Here's the newest addition to the MiniVex controller lineup for Vectrex. The MiniVex V features a steel case and an adjustable rapid fire feature for button #4, like the other models do. This one's got a LH mounted spinner control and a RH mounted analog paddle control. The spinner can be used with some homebrew games and an assortment of original Vectrex titles that have been modified for spinner use. It also doubles as an extra fire button, just push down on it. The paddle control can be used with the game "Hyperchase" in its original, unmodified Vectrex cartridge format, as well as Vectrace, Spike's Water Balloons, Vaboom, and a few other homebrew titles. There's also a switch that selects the X or Y axis for the paddle, which allows you to navigate menus on multi-carts AND crank up the thrusters on Moon Lander. All in all, a versatile package. Need additional info? Please post here or PM me. Larry
  15. I still have my screen printed, die cut, poly carbonate, Test Cart overlays for sale. They are exact reproductions of the original test cart overlay used in the GCE/MB factory. They are ideal for hobbyists to help ensure they have their Vectrex display adjusted correctly. Use this in conjunction with the Vectrex service manual. They also make good overlays for some of the Vectrex games, e.g. add a gun sight to VecFever Battle Zone and Red Baron. Please don't confuse these with the floppy ink jet printer produced overlays. See my overlay spec here. The pricing is as follows and covers postage and packing: UK - £10.30 EU - £12.75 US/Canada/Australia/Japan - £13.50 In addition to the 100% perfect overlays above I also have some 'b' class Test Cart overlays stil remaining. 'b' class indicate that they are not 100% perfect. The 'b' class overlays have a small blemish or light scratch on the back. These imperfections can be seen when holding up to the light. When the overlay is placed on the Vectrex the imperfection is impossible to see. As 'b' class overlays are not 100% perfect I am selling them at reduced prices: UK - £6.30 EU - £8.75 US & other - £9.50 Hey, at the above prices, get one 'a' class and one 'b' class. The 'a' you can put in your collector's cabinet, and the 'b' can be part of your work bench To purchase please contact sales@vectrex.co.uk or visit my site www.vectrex.co.uk for more info.
  16. Hello All Vectrex Fans! Thought this was long overdue for those who may not be on Vectrex Fans Unite and know me already. I just wanted to share my ongoing collection of Vectrex photography and videos I have been working on for the past few years. I love all things Vectrex and vector gaming in general(since 1979). Feel free to say hello and share back some pics of your collections! -Alan VECTREX ALIVE (video collection) https://photos.app.goo.gl/rZGvisrySVqDahwx6 VECTREX DAYZ https://photos.app.goo.gl/TYulhyxaCZgvtHGo1 VECTREX NIGHTZ https://photos.app.goo.gl/T60Od8avEACnv7PN2
  17. Just bought a Vectrex over the weekend and it came with a handful of games. That said, I'm in the market for the majority of games for the system, so if you have any to spare, in any level of completion (can be cart-only, manual, overlay, CIB, etc.), I'm interested. This is what I currently have already, which will be updated as I acquire additional items: Armor..Attack cart + manual + overlay Bedlam cart + manual + repro overlay Berzerk cart + manual + overlay Blitz! cart + manual + repro overlay Clean Sweep cart + manual + overlay Cosmic Chasm cart + manual + overlay Fortress of Narzod cart + manual + repro overlay Heads Up CIB Hyper Chase cart + manual + overlay Mine Storm manual + overlay Polar Rescue cart + repro overlay NEED MANUAL Pole Position cart + repro overlay NEED MANUAL Rip Off cart + manual + overlay Scramble cart + manual + overlay Solar Quest cart + manual + repro overlay Space Wars cart + manual + repro overlay Spike cart + manual + overlay Spinball CIB Star Castle cart + repro overlay NEED MANUAL Starhawk cart + overlay NEED MANUAL Star Trek cart + manual + overlay Web Wars cart + manual + overlay Please shoot me a PM if you've got anything Vectrex related to spare! P.S. I'm aware there are multicarts and SD card-based cartridges out there and I will likely purchase one in the future, but I'd like some more tangible games first. Cheers.
  18. Just starting a new VEXTREME specific topic to separate out the what is now a chatty topic away from other cool Vectrex project threads.
  19. Coming Soon for Vectrex... MiniVex Pedal I Vectrex Controller Button Controller. Following Larry's (ClassicGamesAndCarsFan) current MiniVex controller is the new MiniVex Vectrex Pedal Controller. The controller is designed so that it may be used either in tandem with another Vectrex controller, or independently on a different controller port. Plug the Pedal Controller into your Vectrex. Plug your controller into the extension box controller. Select button 1,2,3 or 4 with the rotary switch. Then stomp it! The selected button still operates from the controller as well as the pedal. The Pedal Controller can be used in on its own too. Plug the pedal controller in the desired Vectrex controller port. Select button 1,2,3 or 4 with the rotary switch. Then stomp it! Keep an eye on availability through Larry's regular eBay sales. Here is his his eBay sales via his "ClassicGamesAndCarsFan" seller account. https://www.ebay.com/sch/ClassicGamesAndCarsFan/m.html?_sop=10 I'll post more pictures later when mine arrives. #Vectrex #MiniVex #Pedal #Foot #Switch #Controller #MiniVexPedalI
  20. In the Facebook group Vectrex fans unite!, a group member named Ralf Kornmann has released a Vectrex port of the classic game "Oregon Trail". This port is a text only so far. No sound. No mini game. Ralf's port of Oregon Trail is improving and is up to version version 1.0.1 so far. Looking forward to future improvements. Fun nostalgic game play. Oregon Trail for Vectrex by Ralf Kornmann release version 1.0.1 download via Facebook Files post. Oregon Trail for Vectrex by Ralf Kornmann release version 1.0.1 download via Google Drive post.
  21. I have had 6 different inquires about a replacement front panel retention clip for the Vectrex controller Anyone want to make the 3D model file? Here is an album link with are some images of the part. Vectrex Front Panel Controller Retention clip ( https://photos.app.goo.gl/XZPCuRuZ2fi8LcK49 ) And a couple pics from that album.
  22. I have developed a USB Burner compatible with Vectrex and Watara named MVBD, and blank rewritable cartridges for these two consoles: MWRMC 8in1: Can store up to 8 64 kB Watara games. MVRMC 16in1: Can store up to 16 32 kB or up to 8 64 kB Vectrex games. MVRMC 4in1: Can store up to 4 32kB or up to 2 64 kB Vectrex games. MVBD plugs to your computer through an USB port and disguises itself as a MSD (mass storage device), as it was a pendrive, so you will not need to install additional software to use it (apart from the USB MSD driver that is already included in most of today´s operating systems, as Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS and Ubuntu). To copy a ROM you just have to drag it to the burner drive. There is more information at: http://www.vectrex.hackermesh.org/index.php/en/ I am offering these items through ebay.es: MVBD Burner (26€): http://www.ebay.com/itm/251474038263 MWRMC 8in1 (15€): http://www.ebay.com/itm/251475080137 MVRMC 16in1 (15€): Now out of stock MVRMC 4in1 (10€): http://www.ebay.com/itm/251472065968 Thanks.
  23. Greetings Programs! I'm looking for a Vectrex console in good, working condition, with one or two controllers. Also interested in any Vectrex games with overlays, including homebrews and\or a multi-cart to get me started if I can find a system. Please just let me know if you have anything above you are wanting to part with. Thanks and take care! Edit 12/14/19: Found one, thanks everyone for the help and hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.
